T.J. Maxx store manager (not assistant managers)

The store manager at this location repeatedly belittles her employees, uses inappropriate language, and displays favoritism at work. Instead of approaching employees in a respectful manner she finds ways to insult them. She makes the workplace environment very stressful and awkward. She never communicates with her coordinators in an effective manner or shows any appreciation for their hard work. She is so focused on pushing credit cards that she forgets to put customers' needs first. I've had multiple customers complain to me that we force credit applications on them too much. Something has to be done about her poor management and disrespectful behavior.

T.J. Maxx being wrongfully fired

I kimberly kaplan worked at the portsmouth nh store 0055 feel I was wrongfully terminated/fired. No proif to show why. I was fired by everette beede and helen mason.

I was totally shocked over this. I worked all weekend with everette and he said nothing to me. I came in and opened with everette monday and still said nothing. Mid day monday everette called me in his office abd thats when he told me I was terminated/fired.

Told me several associates told them I bad mouthed them. I never have. No reason to. When asked for proof was told dont want to discuss. Refused to discuss.

Have worked with the company 4 years. Never called out or not shown up for my shift as many employees have done it numerous times and, are still employed. Employees, are always coming into the fitting room to text on there phone or will text out on the sales floor and get away with it.

I have been called in or stayed to fill in for employees constantly calling out or not showi g up. I have always been there to step up and fill in.

If you look at the employees that have left over the past several months you can see that there is a serious problem. About 15 people have left.

There is 1 person (zachary spencer) that used to text my phone while I was at home. He would text when he was, suppossed to be recovering the store or outside collecting carriages. I have the proof plus he took a picture of the parking lot and sent me.

A year ago there was an associate that used to argue eith a manager and it got so heated once that she ended up getting fired. Months later she came into store and got het job back. Thay is so messed up that she is rude to manager gets fired and allowed to come back. I was told I bad mouth associates and get fired.

Many associates pull no shows for there shifts and dont call leave the store short staffed and they are still employed.. So messed up. I should not have lost my job.

I feel everette and helen should have talked to all parties, involved and find out the truth. Ask what the other associates think I bad mouthed them about.

I also felt uncomfortable when helen tossed 131.68 at me and told me that was for working sunday and part of monday. I felt she threw the money at me to get me to leave the store and to never return. Not cool.

I want something done about this complaint and not ignored

I would like a second chance. Others have got second chance for being rude to manager. Texting on phone on sales floor or fitting room. I should get that to. I will do anything to prove my self.

T.J. Maxx I am complaining about the general manager of tj maxx

The general manager is very rude and disrespectful, I have never been treated like that before she is even worse with her employees! Costumers opinions are the last thing she care about! Very disappointed with the head of the store ( general manager )all she cares is to sale and doesn't here what costumers have to say. I will never ever be back in that store I pay for my stuff is not for free. And O find out workers have left the store because of her? Nuts!

T.J. Maxx manager willie woods

I went to the store to make a return. I stood in line waiting for my turn. There was a woman who was just standing in the way with a full shopping cart talking on the phone. Willie Brown, the manager, was on the phone himself not really getting a full assessment of the situation, yelled at me that I should not be waiting in the aisle and go back to the line until called. He did not see that the light was flashing at station 7 and the woman who was in the way was still talking on the phone, waiting for him at the 2 cashier station.

Willie Brown was rude, insulting, and was not giving good customer service. He was quick to judge what was happening and owes me an apology.

I am sure that this is not TJX's vision for their organization.

T.J. Maxx supervisor

I was shopping at the Beckley, WV TJ Max location last night on 08/07/18 at around 8 pm. I feel the need to express my frustration with the supervisor, Lisa S. In front of customers she yelled at one of her employees over wanting some help. The employee simply asked if someone could come and ring a customer who had been waiting awhile in line. Since Lisa S. and another employee by the name of Lisa too I believe we're too busy having their own conversation while standing around doing nothing. One would assume there would be no problem. She got mad and yelled to the employee she was talking too to go help him. It happened to be the end of his shift and he had to ask for relief at the register again to leave after one more customer. She still didn't come up. She just stood there and asked him where other employees were like it was his job to know. I felt so sorry for the employee.

FAYE SAPAIPANE Very rude would not help me kept saying sorry you're gonna have to pay the charge of a fraud that I was trying to turn in told me call the company finally after yelling at her she gave me the fraud department and they said yes there is more than one on there she was not helpful she was nasty I don't see were she does much for you guys. I'm ready to cancel.

T.J. Maxx extremely poor customer service! non existing customer service on website purchase...

I hope this complaint is read by TJMax Corporate office; hopefully they would be as outraged as I am ( as a customer) for the lack of responsibility, professional handling of issues and approach related to customer service by this company. My name J Gonzalez, am a regular client through your website; this time I made a large purchase of cosmetics, toiletries items and custom Jewelry; I received my order confirmation and receipt via email, as usual within hours. 8 days later I received an email that my order had been shipped, I have a POBox address where I get my packages delivered. I waited 6 more days for my package to arrive, but the package did not arrive; I checked back 3 days later, still no delivery; TJ max had no answers for me; I called UPS customer service with tracking #, next day. I was told by UPS the package was being sent back to The sender because they had used a tracking # that is only used for home address delivery; Not for PO Box delivery. So they, TJMax, needed to change that info; I wanted to pick up my box at the UPS location if necessary, but they said they had notified the sender and my purchase was already processed and on its way back. Mind you I had already been charged on my credit card and paid my bill, without my purchase. I frantically called back TJMax to tell them my situation, and to please try to help anyway they could to have my purchase sent back or replaced. The agent who took my call, simply said we can't help you that way; we don't know when the merchandise will get back to the warehouse but you will get a refund when that happens. She said, If you "are still interested in getting those items you ordered over 20 days ago, u could place a new order or I can check for you if any of your items are still avlb. I tried to reason with her about what I was expecting from her to do as a Customer service agent, at least to try to help in getting my purchase back since it was clearly their fault, but she said she could not do anything else for me; I asked for a supervisor or manager to talk to; she refused and told me they had several managers in house but they were all busy taking calls; she said the procedure was to send an email to the Mngrs in house and within 3 days someone will call me back!? it's been 5 days and No One has had the courtesy to call back. I was obviously interested in getting what I had ordered and paid for a month earlier ; I was left in limbo, as a customer am totally disappointed at the lack of interest in even been courteous to their customers, no reliability not an ounce of professionalism or courtesy; a total shame! I did not get what I had purchased; they never informed me of what had happened; I did not get a phone call or got to speak to someone of authority when I needed it and requested it and they have Not credit my credit card yet!, very unreliable service and No customer service, !

T.J. Maxx discrimination in seal beach, ca

I am writing on this board as an attempt to let someone know about an experience I had at the Seal Beach, CA Rossmoor shops location. Some cashier (white male wearing black glasses around 2000 July 29th proceeded to embarrass me and make me feel as though I were attempting to steal from Marshalls of all places. I had two bags with me from Homegoods (next door) and they were purchases I made 10 min prior. I bought two Kate Spade nesting boxes and some other things and AFTER he rang up my purchase and I inserted my credit card he asked me verbatim, "are you going to buy the things in those bags. I was immediately disgusted at the underlying implication he was making and I said these are from next door and he said well can I see what was in the bags?" I gave him the bags (mind you the receipt for the purchases was in my purse so he was not trying to verify my purchasing these) he looked in the bag for 1 second and then gave then back to me saying...ok just making sure I snatched the bags away and walked out. I have never been more embarrassed and disgusted in my entire life! I've shopped Marshalls and the sister stores for years and have brought bags into the store and have never had this type of treatment from any cashier. Where or not I should have taken to my car before coming in is not the point nor anyones business. The point is I was subconsciously accused of trying to steal from a discount store and the way he handled the situation was awful and demeaning. What type of person knowingly walks to the cashier with bags of stuff, pays for some stuff and tries to walk out with others in bags clearly marked Homegoods. Not me. I don't know how to best articulate my feelings over this and I let him half inspect the bags to prove I did nothing wrong but the fact that this was the recourse is what's frustrating. Above all, he was a jerk with no semblance of class. I will most definitely be escalating this matter via numerous channels and I want Marshalls corporate to know what type of people they hire. I see this has become the climate where blatant discrimination is norm but understand I WILL NOT ACQUIESCE! Show me a written policy where this is okay and I will make the decision not to shop here but I will not tolerate being harassed by someone with no emotional intelligence or common decency. T.J. Maxx customer service

Hello. I am writing about the TJ Maxx at 2840 N. Broadway, Chicago IL. I went in right when they opened today to do a return for store credit. I bought a hamper about 30 days ago, and used it 4 times and the handle broke off. The store manager Eric R. helped me. He gave me a hard time asking if I had put heavy items in there, and that he cannot resell it. He was very unhappy and unapologetic about my return, but that he would give me store credit this time (this is all I was asking for). I told him that I did not appreciate his attitude towards my request as I do not expect items to break right away from their store. He had no smile, no eye contact and his manner was rude. Also, he was scolding an employee and asked him what took so long for him to come to the register. The employee looked embarrassed.

T.J. Maxx I am complaining about the poor customer service of the coordinator @ the park ave location # 11

The cashier asked the Coordinator to check to see what the balance was on the gift card that I had & the rude lady Denitria said she couldn't not do it because the cashier was already into a sale, so the cashier said I was asking you to check the balance and her reply was no, I replied and said no she was asking if you could check the balance and she said with a disrespectful tone & saying watch YOUR TONE GIRL, I replied you need to watch your tone & she came back and said you better go on & I said I you're speaking to in that manner but I'm not a child & Denittia began speaking about me to another employee & I said yes I said that & her reply was you are ignorant. So to end this I spoke to the MOD Felicia & informed her of the situation. But I will be contacting Corparate in regards about the unprofessionalism of this employee that is representing their company in such a manner.

T.J. Maxx place an order for shoes.

In June I ordered a pair of shoes. Tjmaxx sent the wrong shoes. The store would not refund my MONEY. I sent the shoes back, they were received in tn. However, they have not refunded my MONEY. I have called9 times, never can speak to a manager. Each time the rep says 3 to 5 days. It has been 30 plus days no refund. Will not shop there again. I have supported tjmaxx for 20 years. No More.

T.J. Maxx ink security tag

As someone who has worked in retail for 2 years now, I hate to make a complaint but feel that it is necessary. Give or take a week ago I had purchased a dress among several other dresses as well as other items. The one dress still had the security tag on it and today I went to the Jog Rd and Lantana location in Lake Worth, FL to have it removed. I explained what had happened to the cashier and upon looking for my receipt, I realized I did not have it with me. She paged for a manager and neither allowed for the removal of the security tag because I did not have my receipt. I asked if it were possible to look up my receipt, they said no and still would not remove the device. I find this extremely disappointing as someone who shops at the stores often and has a credit card with the company. I also thinks it's a very poor reflection of customer service. You're not letting a customer have what they rightly own. I paid for this $25 dress and am now unable to wear it because of a mistake made by one of your employees?

T.J. Maxx manager

I visited my local TJ Maxx in Zanesville, Ohio today, 7/17/18 from 9:35am-12:25pm. I politely asked an associate if they had put out there Rae Dunn pottery for the day. She was very kind and said they had a bunch of it in the back room and said she would go check for me. A dark-haired females manager stopped her and gave us a talking to about how they don't do that & that housewares was not a priority for her store. While I felt like a child who just got scolded, I apologized & shopped around for a couple of hours, hoping the product would be put out. I passed the same manager numerous times. I even sat down & waited for over an hour & the same mgr passed me several times. It was clear she had no intention of bringing it out of the back or being accommodating whatsoever. It's been rumored, this mgr waits to put out this collectible pottery until certain customers arrive. Very frustrating morning.

T.J. Maxx customer service

Stopped into the Orangeburg, SC store and found a cute shirt to purchase. I went to a sales associate to make my purchase. Once the associate Jamar rang it up he proceeded to get a bag and I set my money on the counter which was. $10 bill. He at this point had set the bag on the counter with shirt placed in side. This is when things went real wired ... he was holding his hand out for the money and I had my wallet in my hand he was like looking out over my head. My first thought was he couldn't see well and second thought was he was cross eyed. I said it right here and pointed to the money . He swiped it up with major attitude and I still didn't know what the issue was UNTIL he had my change in his hand and I held my hand out ...THEN he intentionally dropped it on the counter in a very disrespectful manner! When I asked why he did that he said I didn't hand him my money! Now I am a 50 year old woman, who has worked in customer service for many years . I never would have treated a customer in this manner nor would any of my employers tolerated this kind of behavior! Is this the kind of sales people we want to deal with ! This is why people shop online more and more everyday! I enjoy going out looking in the store rather than online ! If people have to deal with this kind of associate than I no wonder these stores are going out of business. What happen to customer service? Does places like TJMaxx not teach Customer Service edit kit anymore ? Very unhappy customer!

T.J. Maxx dark chocolate covered almonds with coconut in milk chocolate

This is not a complaint. I am only looking for a product that I am desperately trying to find. I am going to attach a photo. Please let me know where I can find these or if I can buy directly. I am highly in love and would love for someone to contact me back with information on where I am able to purchase these or again but directly from corporate!

Bazzini, the company that makes these, is located in Pennsylvania, I used to work there. Call them directly, you might be able to buy them directly or they can tell you where to get them.

We were at checkout and the person that was ringing us up was really rude. There was an item that had no price and so she rang it up for 12.99 and clearly it was not that expensive so I asked her to look it up in the system. The lady snapped at me and said, "Well, I've been working here long enough to know how much it is!" She ranted at me and then I asked her to please look it up and she made a fuss and left. And when she came back she rang it up and it was 7.99. She did not make eye contact after that nor did she say that she was sorry! Her name was Teresa and it was at the Albany, GA TJ max.

Treating like crimInal
I was at tj max Olney, and return the coat over from 9 months, The lady Customer service name Chu Chu, refused to return it, even with the rcipt and all tags on, i know the policy is if the tags on you can ask for retuen, but she treat me like some crimninal and first she asked me recipt which was provided, then she trying to ask if tag should be in the collar, then she was trying to show me that her computer was not accepting it because she was accepting from recieptand i asked her to do from TJ max tags on, but she refused...she just was not following the store policy, she has some personal thing going on, i think evry employee worjk under store policies and proceedure, and if the tags on, they return if product is unused and same as it were bought it...I will not go to this store any more

I was at the TJ Maxx on Richmond Ave. in Houston, TX on December 30, 2018 to make a return. The cashier named Miriam looked at my receipt and immediately said, "you can't return these since you received 50% off." I have been a loyal customer at TJ Maxx and have made many purchases but have never heard of final sales for holiday items that was marked 50% off. I told Miriam that no one informed me of a final sale and there was no indication at the store that holiday items were final sales. She insisted with a nasty attitude that I could not return the items because I got 50% off so I requested for the manager. The manager confirmed with her that I had a receipt and the items had price tags attached. She told her then there was not an issue to accept the return. Miriam seemed dissatisfied with the response and reconfirmed with her manager about her "made up" final sale policy. Without apologizing for her mistake she proceeded to process the return. During the transaction the credit card machine was not functioning properly so I had to remove my credit card a few times. Miriam, instead of asking the customer politely, she said with her attitude, "waiting on you to insert your credit card." At this time, I had enough of her attitude so I said, "as a customer service rep you could have said it in a nicer way." It is unfortunate that Miriam didn't have the personality and proper training to perform her basic duty. I hope TJ Maxx would take this comment seriously and take necessary actions.

Maria the manager at the tj maxx In nanuet ny is very rude/disrespectful I am an employee & I cannot take her [censored] anymore I haven’t done anythin rude to her I always did my best to avoid & ignore her rudeness I thought I was the only one dealin with that to find out co workers have experienced her disrespect & has even witnessed when it has happened to me she even jacks up my hours & every time people find out she is the closin manager or even there there’s a bunch of call outs & sour attitudes because they’re upset every time a holiday lands on a day i normally work she intentionally takes me off when the other manager did the schedule she would leave me on or ask if I’d like to work to get time & half I wish the manager was not transferred but she was transferred due to the fact she was promoted since she was such a great manager we all loved her & her name is Gina isneria

Hello,

On Friday, June 22 I was shopping at the TJ Maxx store on Henderson in Columbus, Ohio. I accidentally left my sunglasses in the fitting room but returned back to the fitting room a few minutes after noticing I had left then. The worker in the dressing room area was not helpful and very short with me when I asked about them. I quickly realized they were gone although they room was still empty. I went to the manager and he (Brett) told me he would have Loss and Prevention from district level review the cameras to see if anyone had entered and they would be calling me the next day, on June 23. I did not hear from anyone so I visited the store and a new manager (Nancy) told me they would be in touch either way.

The sunglasses were just under $200 which is unfortunate that I left them out of my sight in front of an employee for a few short minutes. I am most upset about the poor customer service and lack of communication I have received from this store. I am frequent buyer at this store and will make sure I do not continue to give business to a store that shows no respect to their customers.

I would appreciate a follow up since it has been 6 days since the incident and I was promised I would hear back the following day.

*This is my second attempt trying to get ahold of someone at TJ Maxx. First attempt June 28.

T.J. Maxx daren holloman, management at store 234

Tuesday june 27, 2018. My mother and I walked into the home goods store with intentions to decorate a guestroom and soon I we entered the store there were these 3 gold tables that were exactly what I needed for the livingroom (exactly why most love the store). I told my mom that if the lady who looking at them didn't get them I would. I walked the store filled a cart and went to get another to find that the tables were still there. We loaded up all 3 into our cart. Two on the right side of the aisle and one on a couch turned upside down. Score! We proceeded to the checkout. As I was standing in line, a lady customer who was checking out came to my shopping cart picked up the one of the tables and stated this is my table I had it on hold. I told her no this did not have a hold tag on it and please don't take anything out of my cart again. She said, i'll just call the manager which agreed she should. The manager approached me while I was cashing out. Ma'am this table was on hold and it belongs to this lady. I explained that there was no hold tag or anything else on this table to state that. He aggressively told that the area was for hold items and that they had ran out of signs. I asked how was I supposed to know that. He stated sarcastically that is what I am telling you now. I informed him that I will be buying the tables. He turns to the other customer and states I quote, "she's not giving it up. She is horrible person and I hope someone does the same thing to her". She then walks up to my cart again to take the table. I tell her, that the manager is here as she requested and I really need her to remove herself from my personal space which was one foot from my face. The manager then states you know what you will not be buying these tables and proceeded to remove them from my cart.

I have been shopping at tjmaxx stores since around 2000 and I have never had any experience like this. I am an avid shopaholic and I have never had any experience like this in any store. I have worked in customer experience all my life from waitress to 16 years as a nurse. This managers behavior was unacceptable no matter where you go and I would hope this is not the direction that this company is going. Not only was he rude and belittling, he wish ill happenings on another customer. Would he have acted the same if I was white and she was black. I can't say that believe he would have. He asked me nothing concerning my side or concerns. How much money did the store lose it my one transaction remember I had 2 carts of merchandise. There were many different ways a good manager could have resolved that problem and left everyone satisfied. He may have pleased her but I have told everyone who would listen to my story and left them appalled.

I left that store and cried. It was the worst shopping experience in my history. It ruined my day and a week later I still feel the embarrassment. I feel like I have lost a family member. Tjmaxx/home goods/marshalls stores were my go to stores. I can not say that I will never go again but I say it will be my last option. I can not with good conscience go and spend money with a company that thinks so little of me and my hard earned money. Just the week before I went to 6 different homegoods stores just to find a table that I saw broken in another store. Almost every decor in my home was purchased from this company. I shopped the whole weekend and it hurt not to go to any of your stores and I was forced to shop at other stores leaving me wondering if I could have found something better.

What can tjmaxx/homegoods do to make it better. I really need an apology from the manager. I would like to believe it was an act of his own bad judgement and not the direction of the company.

T.J. Maxx unethical behaviour

Dear TJMaxx management.
My name is Denys Slesarenko. My wife's name is Olena Slesarenko. We are both Jewish refugees from Ukraine, a family that came to the U.S. to live equal, free life without any mean of being discriminated by race, origin, or native language in any case.
Today, we got discriminated by one of TJMaxx store representative Rhonda; the store located in Culver City on 11020 W Jefferson Blvd, Culver City, CA 90230.
Today 06/24/2018, my wife and I stopped by some staff that we needed and also, to return two (2) items which my wife had bought earlier in the same store.
When we got to the cashier, we saw a TJMaxx representative there. My wife gave to her two (2) items with TJMaxx price tags on them which were shorts tagged $14.99 and white blouse tagged $24.99. We did not have receipt.
My wife has been a loyal TJMaxx customer for more than 7 years, and has never had any issue there. Usually, when you don't have receipt, but want to return a TJMaxx item with a price tag in brand new unused condition, a store representative would give you a TJMaxx store credit card for a full amount. That how it's always worked with my wife case.
But today, it turned to an expectable disaster.
The TJMaxx representative Rhonda asked my wife for the receipt, but she did not have one. My wife politely asked the representative if she could give my wife a store credit card for the return. However all of sudden, the representative told by my wife that she didn't understand her and then, the representative told me that my wife would not get a full refund, but 20-30 % less because my wife didn't have the receipt.
When we asked the representative to speak with the store manager, she told us that she's the manager. She apparently lied to us because in split seconds she told us that if we would want to meet the store manager, we would need to wait 45 mites, and that she would not want to "deal with us anymore."
I didn't want to escalate the scandal more, so I asked my wife to take the returns with her and wait for me outside. Next, I paid with the same representative for the several items and asked her if the same rule works for all TJMaxx store network, so she replied me, "Yes."
We were deeply upset by the unprofessional behavior of the TJMaxx representative.
I immediately drove to the closest TJMaxx store located in Los Angeles, at the Crenshaw plaza shopping mall and asked for help. A helpful TJMaxx representative there took our returns, the same returns that we could get full refund in the Culver City store, and without any questions issued the full refund and gave us the TJMaxx store card for the full amount (copy of the store card receipt attached).
We were really embarrassed by this racial harassment. Our accent could be different from native English speakers and we also may look differently, but nobody can treat us differently and selectively than others. We are all equal here in the United States of America.
We want to complain about the unprofessional behavior to the TJMaxx management, and make sure that nobody else in the future would not be harassed or discriminated there.

T.J. Maxx layaway service ponce puerto rico

Been waiting for more than an hour to make a lay away. Person stays a long time with customer. Called through phone they said they would come back soon. Been waiting more than 15 mins. No one has come out. I have a lay away of 252$ and apparently no one wants to take it.
Also the a/c is apparently off. Too hot inside the store. I told an employee she said she already told the boss about it but it's impossible to even try the clothes sweating that much!
The store gives too little importance to customers. No wonder is always empty!
