TomatoFest Disappointing Germination Rates: My Experience with TomatoFest's 2021 Tomato Seeds

I bought some tomato seeds from TomatoFest for 2021, but I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with the germination rates. Out of the five seeds I ordered, only a couple of them actually sprouted. I was really hoping for a bountiful tomato harvest this year, but it looks like that's not gonna happen. I think I'll have to look for a different place to buy my seeds from now on. It's a shame, because I've heard good things about TomatoFest, but I just didn't have a good experience with them this time around.

TomatoFest TomatoFest: A Great Experience for Tomato Lovers!

Been buying from TomatoFest for years now and it's always been a great experience. We're big fans of trying out different kinds of tomatoes, especially the ones that are super rich and juicy. The shipping is always super fast and the website is really easy to navigate. They've got all the different kinds of tomatoes sorted out real nice so you can find what you're looking for real easy. And the seeds are always fresh and ready to go - we've had really good luck with germination rates. Highly recommend TomatoFest if you're looking to grow some tasty tomatoes!

TomatoFest TomatoFest Review: Disappointing Order and Customer Service Experience

So, I was googling for Rosella Purple tomato seeds and stumbled upon TomatoFest (tomatofest.com). I was pretty stoked to find the seeds I was looking for, but I ended up buying more than just that. I spent over $60 on a bunch of different seeds. However, when I received my order, I was pretty bummed to find out that they sent me cherry tomato seeds instead of the 2 packs of Rosella Purple seeds I ordered. I was pretty upset about it, so I emailed them not once, but twice, and I haven't heard back from them at all. It's been a while now, and I'm still waiting for a response. I'm not too happy about this, so I would suggest that you buy your seeds elsewhere.

TomatoFest TomatoFest: Quality Seeds and Top-Notch Customer Service

I gotta say, TomatoFest is the real deal when it comes to seeds. They got a ton of different kinds and the descriptions are super helpful. They tell you everything you need to know, like what kinda weather the seeds like and stuff. I live down here in Texas where it's hot as heck and humid too, so I always look for seeds that can handle that kinda climate.

And let me tell ya, the customer service is top notch. I messed up my order and forgot to put my street name on it, so I didn't get my seeds. But I reached out to Gary at Tomato Fest and he was super helpful. He told me what went wrong and even offered to send me new seeds for free! That's some good customer service right there.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend TomatoFest if you're looking for some quality seeds. They got a great selection and the people there really care about their customers.

TomatoFest Disappointing Experience with TomatoFest: Poor Germination and Customer Service

So, I was pretty stoked after getting 80 seeds from my local store to germinate successfully. But then I heard about TomatoFest and their dwarf variety, and I just had to give them a try. I tried to order from their website, but I was having some trouble, so I shot them an email. They got back to me pretty quick, but they told me I had to order at least $20 worth of seeds. I was a little hesitant, but I figured it was worth a shot.

It took about 10 days for the seeds to arrive, and I was pretty excited to get started. I followed their directions to a T, but not a single one of the 100 seeds germinated. I was pretty bummed out, so I emailed them again to see if they could help me out. But they never got back to me. I was pretty disappointed, and I wouldn't recommend wasting your time or money with them.

Overall, I was pretty disappointed with my experience with TomatoFest. While I was excited to try out their dwarf variety, I had a lot of trouble ordering from their website. And when I finally did get my seeds, not a single one of them germinated. I reached out to them for help, but they never responded. So, if you're looking for a reliable source of tomato seeds, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

TomatoFest Disappointing Experience with TomatoFest's Heirloom Seeds: A Review

I've been growing tomatoes from seeds for a long time now and I was really excited to try out the heirloom varieties from TomatoFest this year. I ordered several packs of seeds and followed the instructions that came with my order. I planted around 80 seeds in two separate plantings, hoping to get at least 10-20 healthy plants. But after waiting for a whole month, not even one seed has sprouted.

I was really bummed out about this, so I decided to buy a pack of regular tomato seeds from a local nursery and plant them alongside the TomatoFest seeds. I used the same type of growing medium, same conditions, and everything else was the same. Out of the 20 or so seeds in the pack, I now have 12 healthy plants growing.

I'm really disappointed that none of the heirloom seeds from TomatoFest germinated. I was really looking forward to trying out these unique varieties, but it seems like they just didn't work out for me. I don't think I'll be buying from TomatoFest again, unfortunately.

TomatoFest Disappointing Experience with TomatoFest: A Review of Heirloom Tomato Seeds

I've been growing heirloom tomatoes for a good 30 years now, and I've tried out a few different seed providers over the years. I've had some good seasons and some bad, but this year was definitely one of the worst. I ordered a few different varieties from TomatoFest, including the Coyote, Mortgage Lifter (both red and yellow), Black Prince, and Amy's Sugar Gem. Unfortunately, none of these varieties did particularly well in my garden this year.

I'm not sure what the issue was - it could have been the heat, or maybe my soil is getting depleted - but the Coyote tomatoes were especially disappointing. They were tough-skinned and acidic, which made them pretty unappetizing. The Mortgage Lifter tomatoes were also less prolific than in years past, and the other varieties were just kind of marginal overall. All in all, it was a pretty horrendous season for me.

To make matters worse, I tried reaching out to Gary at TomatoFest via email to see if he had any advice or suggestions, but I never heard back from him. That's definitely not the kind of customer service I expect from a seed provider, so I've decided to switch to a different company for next year's crop.

Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with TomatoFest this year. I've had good luck with them in the past, but this season was definitely a letdown. I'm hoping that next year will be better, but for now, I'll be looking for a new seed provider to try out.

TomatoFest TomatoFest Review: High-Quality Seeds with Impressive Germination Rates

I gotta say, I was pretty impressed with TomatoFest. I placed an order for 4 different types of tomatoes back in June of 2022, and everything arrived in great condition. I started the seeds like I always do, using jiffy seed mix without a heat mat, and they all germinated within just a few days - 3 or 4 at most. I usually put a couple of seeds in each cell, and every single one of them sprouted. I don't know what everyone else's problem is, but I've had great luck with these seeds.

I've bought seeds from a few other vendors and even from Lowe's, but I've found that TomatoFest's seeds have a much higher germination rate. In fact, I ordered from them again in May of 2023, and once again, all of the seeds germinated within a week. That's pretty impressive if you ask me.

One thing I really appreciated about TomatoFest is that they pay for the non-machineable surcharge. Unfortunately, my envelope still got run through a machine, but I don't blame the owner for that - it's the post office's fault. So if you're worried about your seeds getting damaged during shipment, I wouldn't blame TomatoFest for it.

Overall, I've had nothing but great experiences with TomatoFest. They even threw in some extra seeds and a free tomato variety that I didn't even order! That's pretty cool if you ask me. So if you're looking for some high-quality tomato seeds, I'd definitely recommend giving TomatoFest a try.

TomatoFest Disappointing Germination Rates from Tomatofest: A Review

I been growing tomatoes from seed for over fifty years in three diffrent states / six diffrent sites. I gotta say, I was real disappointed with the germination rates from Tomatofest. My grandson is a farmer and this is his third season, so I wanted to get a wide selection of cherry types for pickling this year. I heard about Tomatofest from a commercial source I thought was reliable, so I gave them a try. But I shoulda just stuck with Johnny's Select, where I've been buying for decades, including one type this year.

I shared my seeds with my grandson and we started them up, along with a bunch of seed saved from 2020. And let me tell ya, 95+% of the seeds from Johnny's & saved varieties germinated, but depending on the variety, 0% to 40% of the Tomatofest seeds germinated. We even tried using different soil at a different time, but my grandson's experience was the same as mine.

Now, I know other folks have had different experiences with Tomatofest in the past, but if I could rate this company's product in negative numbers, I would. I ain't never buying from them again and I'd rather use the cheapest feed store generic instead.

TomatoFest Misleading Shipping Fees and Poor Customer Service at TomatoFest

I bought some seeds from TomatoFest without reading the reviews first. I'm crossing my fingers that they'll germinate. But I gotta say, I'm not happy about the shipping situation. I was charged $3.95 for shipping, but when I got my seeds, they came in a plain envelope with just one little stamp on it. I mean, come on, that can't have cost $3.95 to ship. So I wrote to Gary, the guy who runs the place, and it took him a whole week to get back to me. When he finally did, he said that the shipping cost includes handling too, and that's what it says on the website. But when I looked at my original invoice, it just said "Shipping $3.95." Now when I look at it online, it says "shipping & handling $3.95." That's sneaky, if you ask me.

Gary says that he and his partner are a two-person business, and they have to drive five miles to the post office and stand in line for all their seed orders. But if that's really true, why didn't my envelope have a printed postage on it? It just had one little stamp. I think they're trying to make a profit on shipping, and that's not cool.

I'm sorry, Gary, but I'm not going to be a repeat customer if you keep charging these bogus shipping and handling fees. You should just charge what it actually costs to ship something, not add on extra fees for standing in line. It's 2022, man, there are plenty of online shipping options available. You've got a website and internet access, so there's no excuse for this.

TomatoFest Disappointing Experience with TomatoFest: Seeds Failed to Grow, Waste of Time and Money

I ain't gonna lie, I was pretty disappointed with my experience with TomatoFest. I mean, I forked over some hard-earned cash for their seeds and not a single one of 'em grew! What a waste of time and money, ya know? I was really hoping to have a bountiful tomato harvest this year, but nope, not gonna happen thanks to TomatoFest.

I gotta say, I'm pretty peeved about the whole thing. I mean, I followed all the instructions and everything, but still no luck. And now I'm out some serious dough. I really wish I could get my money back, but I don't think that's gonna happen.

Overall, I'd say steer clear of TomatoFest if you're looking for some quality tomato seeds. Save yourself the hassle and go with a different company. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

Germination rates for me were at least 90%. Very uniform plants. Fruits matched the descriptions. Sent me free pack and a nice little thank you note.
