fault in transmission system
Dear Sir,
I have a Toyota Auris 2013 that I bought at January 2014, I have always done my services at Toyota Egypt and I trusted that they'd keep my car well maintained.
Model: ZRE185L-DHXDPW
Engine: 1ZR-FAE
Frame No. : SB1ME4JE80E021836
My issue started when I heard a grinding noise, I went to Toyota to check on this sound at 72, 000Km back on March 2019 they told me it's a fault in the transmission system and that it has a manufacture defect but as it is out of warranty I'll have to pay for a new transmission system which cost 35% of the price of a new 2019 model.
Toyota agent in Egypt informed me that they changed my transmission fluid at 42, 000Km in January 2017 (after 3 years of owning the car) at Toyota according to the periodic service I followed.
I don't understand what happened to my transmission, Toyota Egypt told me that this is a pure manufacture defect and the responsibile engineer told me exactly "it is bad luck".
Why am I buying this car? I bought a reliable brand and now I ended up having to pay 35% the price of a new 2019 car? why am I not getting any compensation for this as it is a manufacturing defect?
I find Toyota responsible to compensate me a proper compensation as this is completely your fault, either by giving me a faulty transmission system which appeared after years or by not properly or by being late in changing my transmission fluid.
Thanks,
Abdelrahman A. Maher
car service
Gents,
Im submitting this complain about the the bad service that Toyota provides in Saudi Arabia.
Stuff is not professional, very little people serve huge customers, long waiting lines. I have Toyota cars and other brands cars. I cant compare between the services. This not my opinion many others opinions have the same thought. We are planning to leave Toyota and go with others. Solve this matter
preowned 2003 rav4

Dear Toyota,
Right now my Ernie Palmer (Jacksonville, Fl) pre-owned 2003 Toyota Rav4 is sitting at a roadside mechanics shop and has been sitting there for several weeks. I had to have it towed there because even though it would start normally, driving it was a danger due to its erratic and unpredictable engine performance. The car was primarily driven by my husband, who passed away on April 7, 2016, so I do have a sentimental attachment to this car.
The mechanic shop's owner understands the history of the car, that it is a pre-owned car, and that RAV4's around this release date seemed to have had similar engine problems related to the engine control module (ECM )of the car, which basically serves as the cars brain.
My sister also had a Rav4. Hers was a 2002 and it had the same problem as my 2003, lurching, engine revving, but won't move forward, and at times exhibiting no discernible problem at all. The mechanics found no transmission problem in either car, so that was ruled out. When the cars' computers were checked, the codes showed an indication of a computer problem including a code for an oxygen sensor issue.
Both cars are pre-owned, thus we weren't the owners of the cars when there was a Class Action Suit against Toyota involving the ECM during the years that owners were receiving notices. My sister and I never received any notice from Toyota that there was any problem with our cars' computer systems.
My sister's car had the ECM problem a couple of years before mine, but she didn't know anything about the past law suit or about how many Toyota customers had filed complaints. She had to stop driving her car due to the engine's unpredictable performance and was told by a mechanic that it would be very expensive to repair (if it even could be repaired). So the car sat idle in her driveway. Recently she traded the car for some landscaping work. She drives another Toyota that she's had for years, but says she will never buy a Toyota again.
In my case, the car's check engine light had been on for a while, and I assumed it was time for service. When I took it to Ernie Palmer Toyota for service (oil change, usual going over), there was no mention of the check engine light after the service check, and it was still on when I left the dealership. Now I wonder if the mechanic tried to get it to go off but couldn't because there was an undetected, undiagnosed, or ignored computer issue. Honestly, the mechanics at Ernie Palmer should not have returned a car to the owner with the check engine light still on - they are the trusted professionals on whom we customers rely.
After my car began having problems, I did extensive online reading about the ECM problem. I discovered that as a result of the law suit, many customers were able to take their cars back to Toyota to have this ECM problem fixed for no charge. When I discussed this with the Toyota representative at Ernie Palmer, he said he didn't know anything about it and that the 2003 had never been recalled. I even communicated through email about the issue, but got no helpful response. To me, it translated to, so glad you buy our cars, but it's your problem now - SORRY! Recalled or not, this is a problem that Toyota was completely aware of, but chose to disregard the customers who purchased pre-owned cars with no knowledge of the potential for or history of an ECM problem. In fact, I think this was very irresponsible of Toyota because of the potential for a driver to have an accident due to sudden lurches forward or inability to accelerate the engine into any movement at all.
Although the check engine light was on when I took my Rav4 to Ernie Palmer Toyota for service, I had not yet experienced the car's ECM problem. I'm sure the date of my last visit to Ernie Palmer can be found in their system, or I can find the service receipt.
I have bought four Toyota vehicles, three new and one preowned. After this experience, I will shop elsewhere unless Toyota is willing to stand behind its product.
These are emails I recently received:

2015 tacoma clutch burned out after only 70k
My 2015 Standard transmission Tacoma's clutch burned out after only 70k miles. I've been driving standard cars/trucks since 18, I am now 32. I have not had a clutch burn out on me like this, now it being a Toyota I have expected quality that comes with that brand. I understand that warranties are there to protect the company, however, to see this happen so early and that "nothing" can be done because it's outside of warranty sounds rediculous. After reaching out to Toyota customer service and explaining my stance and reasons I am looking to Toyota to reimburse the expenses I accrued due to the faulty clutch, I was strong armed off of the call because I wouldn't stand down from my point of view which is that the name Toyota represents quality and caring for their customers. However, after being told that Toyota would not cover anything after the warranty left me discouraged and dismayed that I would be left out to the wind so quickly and abruptly. I believe the lifetime of these parts should not be ending so abruptly and this soon in a vehicles lifespan. I know these parts have lasted into the 100k range, I don't beat my truck up, I'm a daily driver who doesn't think that this should have happened in the first place and because of it had to pay a significant amount out of pocket. I am looking to have the issue looked into and not brushed under the rug. If after that it's still the answer I understand but would like to be treated as the valued customer I am.
defective engine
I bought my Toyota 4Runner in January 2015. My first Toyota. I purchased a 100, 000 mile warranty. At 125, 000 my engine blew, inspite of keeping up with the scheduled maintenance. The mechanics said they never saw anything like it, because when they pulled the pan, pieces of the block fell out. There were no warning lights activated that would indicate low...

I just purchased this car two weeks ago and noticed within a couple of days a glare on the windshield that not only caused a problem with being able to see through the windshield at on coming traffic but it also caused a headache from straining to see. Upon further investigation, I noticed the dash was extremely sticky, finally realizing the dash was literally melting! This is a terrible liability! This car only had 138, 000 miles when I purchased it and should still be eligible for replacement under a recall program but was told the recall has expired. Toyota needs to rectify this problem immediately. Please call me to correct this oversight at [protected]
toyota vios [protected]° angle panoramic view monitor
Car Model : Toyota Vios (2017)
Car Plate No. : VAH 7618
I have issue on the 360° angle Panoramic View Monitor. It started with the front camera having issue than follow by the back camera. Currently the right side camera is having issue. I have try to ask assist from Toyota Services center at Hiewa Auto Gallery (Melaka) Sdn Bhd. I have took to repair for more than 3 or 4 times. But the issue keep on happening from front to back and now my right side camera. The service center said will follow up and keep me up to date. I have even provided a clip of video to them. They do not provide me any update and solution at all. They told me that Toyota HQ could not do anything unless the whole camera is spoil and they just willing to change and repair for me? What is the point of the warranty that Toyota gave? Is Toyota intention to purposely wait for my warranty to expired, so they can charge me money to repair it?
2019 sienna applying break in the middle of highway dangerously
I am a Toyota loyal customer for the last 16+ years and drove all kinds of Toyota models. Bought a brand new Toyota 2019 model in Georgia.
It started applying break when accelerating and started vibrating the engine heavily. This started within a couple of months buying the vehicle. Complained to the dealership and then went to Toyota customer service. Finally, the vehicle showed "Check Engine" and "TRAC Off signal" in the dashboard. I called Toyota customer service again and they sent Toyota technician to diagnose it. The technician repaired and confirmed that the vehicle is safe. I drove again and got exactly the same problem and this time I was lucky enough to escape the accident as vehicles behind me maneuvered and avoided the accident.
Now, I am begging them to look into this vehicle and requesting them to take back the vehicle but the customer service agent is very rude. Not everyone in the customer service, except the case manager assigned to me seems, don't care about the issues.
DON'T BUY Toyota 2019 Sienna. They are trying to test their electromechanical devices with your lives.
2007 toyota estima - caught on fire (vin acr50-004329/2azf05565)
I'm helping my parent to file a complaint about our minivan - Toyota Estima. This minivan was made in Japan and exported to Malaysia for resell, all parts are original from the manufacturer in Japan. My parent bought this minivan in 2019 March and not sure what happened and caught fire yesterday, with the neighbors help and Malaysia fire department and finally put down the fire, I'm so glad that my families are safe while driving this minivan to Kuala Lumpur for doctor checked up, I can't imagine if happen few second early, they all burn to death. We filed the report through Malaysia Royal police department and Malaysia toyota, unfortunately Malaysia toyota didn't take any immediate action and send me the form for minivan service, this minivan is totally damaged and not able to preform any service or driving. We have hired a local expect technician to look at this vehicle and found that this issue came from the abs pump causing the fire, I'm very surprised to see worst customer service in Malaysia, hoping that any corporate officers will step in to investigate on this matter, this is related to human life and safety of the car, I did contact Toyota President (Akio toyoda- San) in Japan and USA Headquater . I'll looking forward to hear from you all.

Car Plate: QTP 7288
Chassis No: PN1DB8FS400110035
Engine No.: 2GDC049274
Model: Toyota Fortuner 2.4 AT 4x4
Problem Faced:
This car brake system is jamming this morning after I left it at home for 2 days. I informed my Toyota salesman, Mr Allen Lim and he had arranged the towing service to tow my car to UMW Toyota at Jalan Pending, Kuching. After 2 hours, I received the call from UMW Toyota Service Centre @ Kuching said that my car's brake rotor is dirty and that's the reason why my brake system is jammed. Obviously, this answer is unacceptable for me. I only drive my car on bitumen road. If the brake rotor dirty will affect the brake system then how about those car users who using their cars for off road? What if I'm driving on the road and suddenly my brake jam again? Toyota Service Centre should really look into this case. Thank you.

Husband started noticing the peeling on the roof after a very bad storm. Each storm that came through made it worse. Had bad hail damage and brought it to a body shop. An adjuster came out and said he couldn't pay for the paint job cause it's a Toyota problem with bad paint job. Called our local Toyota and they said there wasn't a recall so it's not their responsibility. That the insurance company was just trying to push it under the table. It will cost $8000.00 to repaint my car. Who has that kind of money not me. So instead of getting my hail damage fixed that money has to be used to do a vinyl wrap on my entire car. NOT HAPPY.
toyota fj cruiser 2014
My name is Pulkit Vasisht - (M) [protected], I own a Toyota FJ Cruiser 2014 model - Dubai P59702.
I have been facing AC problem since the day I picked up my car and after a couple of repeated reminders and highlighting this problem the service center has been doing some quick fixes that often are temporary in nature because some or the other problem keep coming back in the AC.
This time it was something major, the gas didn't leak but the AC completely broke down, I gave my car last Saturday - 6th July 2019 with this problem and I was informed that my compressor broke down. As my car is under warranty this will be replaced free of charge but we will have to wait for Toyota Japan to approve it. It's been 4 days now and after everyday follow-up calls, I only get an answer that we are still awaiting Japan's approval.
I just like to say, I have gone through a similar problem with my Ford Mustang but the service experience was far superior and professional. I got my compressor replaced and that too free of charge in just 2 days.
Could you help intervene and help get this job done at the earliest?
Regards

(An unhappy, Toyota FJ Cruiser customer)
engine oil consumption inspection
We have been long time owners of Toyotas, and have our vehicles serviced at Toyota stations. Much to our dismay we were informed at our last service (2019) that our 2007 Camry was experiencing engine oil consumption . What flustered us was that there has been a recall on our vehicle for this very issue since 2015. All the servicing for 4 years prior we have NEVER been informed of this issue/recall, or had this taken care of by your very own Toyota service centers. We recently changed service centers to one located closer to us and that is when we were informed of this recall. We have no doubt been very LOYAL customers for 25+ years and this has shaken our faith in your company. I am hoping that you will rectify this situation so that we can remain customers who will continue to purchase your brand. Honestly, this is going to be a huge decision in our next vehicle purchase which is coming up soon.
I was informed from Toyota that this issue was not a recall but was issued as an add-on warranty repair procedure (the latest being 10 years or 150, 000 miles), well being 2019 and 164, 000 miles you know where that puts me and my vehicle...rock/hard place. I then called the Toyota service center to see what the repair cost would amount to and they informed me (no joke) ... "the cost would amount to the same and we recommend an engine replacement for approximately $5, 400!" On a 2007 vehicle? Wow, just wow...

Read full review of Toyotawork charged but not done
On June 3, 2019, I took my 2016 Toyota Camry to Grieco Toyota on Taunton Ave in East Providence, RI 02914 for an oil change and tire rotation and a 30, 000 mile check. I was told I needed an alignment too so I agreed to that as well. I was charged $215.30 for the work which I paid. Upon getting my car home I relaized the rotation wasn't done I took the car back and the person doing the work on my car said he didn't see the rotate tires on the work order even having it on the work order 3 times. I believe the service tech was being lazy and thought he would pull a fast one by not doing the rotation. I am a senior citizens on a fixed income, it's difficult for me to pay $215 and not get what I paid for. That's stealing! I will never step foot in this dealership again and I will not let my wife or son go there either. The first line on the work order was A Service Package A: Replace engine oil and filter, ROTATE TIRES and check tire pressure, how could anyone miss that! Rotate tires appeared 2 more times on work order. My customer number was 60697, After giving this much thought, I want a refund for the money I paid.

2014 toyota tundra brakes, and short in electrical system.
I have a 2014 Toyota Tundra that I purchased with Approx 14000 miles from a Toyota Dealer in 2015.
1)34000 MILES
Problem with brakes pulsating when pressure applied to brake peddle.
Dealer turned drums and replaced pads.
Problem not resolved.
2)
40, 000 Miles
Electriclal problem causing front and rear blinker bulbs to short out.
Every month I am replacing bulbs for front and rear turn signals on both sides.
Extremely disappointed with this truck.
I owned a 2002 tundra for 14 years and it was problem free.
The 2014 model is a big disappointment.
I would like for the Brake Problem and the Electrical problem to be fixed.
Truck is not safe as you cannot trust brakes or turn signals.

Sir/Madam
We have purchased the above vehicle from Castle Toyota Jalandhar on 18.12.17 and since then have availed Vehicle Servicing on 4.10.2018 & 13.3.19. My vehicle has done only about 16700 Kms till now.
When I sent my vehicle for 2nd servicing on 13.3.2019, the Mechanics at A.N.R. Motors P Ltd., took the chip out from Navigation system of the vehicle and when we enquired why you have done this, they said you can keep this with you as this is important part and we don't want to keep this with ourself as our guys working in the company might take away or damage this Chip.
After Servicing our Driver took the vehicle back and after few days when we drove the vehicle for Road trip and found that the Navigation System is not working. We sent our Driver many time for fixing this to ANR Motors, but guys kept on telling that they have taken the matter with the company and you will hear from us in few days.
Finally fed up with this issue again and again, we asked for a copy of the complaint so that we can take this matter directly with the company. To our utter surprise then we found that they have not even forward the complaint.
Again taking up this matter again they took some images of the Vehicle on 20th June and told us to wait for a day as they have formally sent our complaint to the company.
Today I called the ANR Motors Jalandhar and they said defective part is not coverd under Warranty and will not be replaced.
We wish to state that either it is poor quality of the product or Staff at ANR motor have damaged the part while taking out from Navigation system or while putting back into the system and now refusing to replace the same and fix the problem.
You are requested to take this matter and please replace the part and fix the navigation system of the vehicle. Why the customer is left to suffer for no reason? The Agency people responsible for servicing of the vehicle should be held accountable for negligence.
Hoping for early and positive resolution to my issue raised.

gearbox problem
Dear Toyota,
I purchased Toyota Corolla Model 2016 Motor Number V111848 and chassis number 60r130281 from Toyota Egypt, and from the first day till now I did all the service and maintenance needed and recommended at the official Toyota Egypt agent. Almost a year ago I heard a strange sound in the car, so I went to the Toyota Egypt agent to check it up as usual, and they told me that there's nothing at all. Since then, the sound kept increasing, therefore I called them again to check up the car again. They told me that it's a defect in the gearbox from the main company and not from being used, therefore it has to be replaced, and it's very expensive and will cost a lot and the car now is out of warranty. However, they assured that this defect was not from bad use, but it's from the manufacturing of the gearbox it self. Also, the gearbox is a perennial and a long-term part that should never be affected in a very short time. It's a 2016 model. In addition, the car didn't pass the 71, 000 Kilometers, which is unfamiliar issue for a Toyota car. Moreover, I have been a loyal client more than 20 years, that is committed to the periodic maintenance schedules and I never had an issue in any of my Toyota car that I owned in the past years, that led me to purchase the new Toyota Corolla 2019 (The new shape) about a week ago. Although I already own the 2016 Toyota Corolla and the 2017 Toyota Fortuner 4.0 V, I'm in love with Toyota for quality and amazing services. To sum up, this shows that I trust the name of the company, Toyota which is one of the most successful company in the world that is trusted. Furthermore, I keep recommending it to all me family and friends. So please study my case carefully and replace this part for free because its not my fault at all, and this problem affected me mentally and added stress to my life that effected my job and family, so please find a solution. Thank you so much in advanced.
Sincerely, Mohamed Mosaad
