Treasure Realty We rented from teasure realty *** in surf city on May 15-22

We rented from teasure realty *** in surf city on May 15-22.There were cockroaches everywhere in this house it was disgusting. It was unclean there was hair and dirt all in the house. There was paper stating that house had been sprayed in April but it did no good There were still cockroaches in the home as you can see we even caught one in the picture because it fell in the kitchen on our FOOD!

Treasure Realty The air conditioning never got lower than 75 degrees

The air conditioning never got lower than 75 degrees. It was like sleeping in a personal pocket of hell. The smell was horrendous. It was like a punch in the face of cat urine each and every day. First thing you smelled when you walked in. The hot water pressure in the kitchen sink and second shower were non-existent. Dripped from faucets. Could not use either. The light cover in room 2 was missing. Exposed wiring. Unsafe. Bedroom Light in room 3 did not work. Fan in second bath did not work. Refrigerator was filthy upon arrival. Gate to beach from back porch needed the muscles of two men to open and close. Outdoor "shower" was a short hose, hooked to nothing. Bathroom 2 is as unsafe, had chipping tub. Handles did not work. Inoperable. Bathroom 1 HUGE amounts of mold on shower curtain. All around disgusting and a health hazard.

Treasure Realty Cockroach and ant infested beach rental

Cockroach and ant infested beach rental. False advertising of balconies in two of the bedrooms. I am writing issue a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at ***, North Topsail Beach, NC 28460 from August 15 - August 22. I am horrified at the disgusting condition this house was in. Upon arrival, the air conditioning was not working, and there were no batteries in the thermostat. Fortunately, this issue was corrected rather quickly. However, the upstairs bathroom was not clean. There was hair from previous visitors still int he bathtub, sand on the shower walls, and the base of the tub dirty. Upon making coffee in the coffee maker, we found a dead moth in the water reservoir of the coffee maker! On day 2 of our visit, we noticed the first sightings of cockroaches! I sent a text to Treasure Realty and received a response the following morning at 9am that they would be contacting the appropriate maintenance coordinator. The entire day went by, and I received no update. I sent a follow up text at 4pm that evening and finally received word that an exterminator would be coming by to treat the issue. After the exterminator left, dozens of cockroaches began to emerge in the kitchen and living area. Along with cockroaches, there were ants all along the door sill of the upstairs bedroom that opens to the balcony. The exterminator sprayed for those as well. Every day we were there we were killing cockroaches. I have three children, one being a toddler that is constantly playing on the floor. Along with all of these issues, we also found that the advertisement of this house online indicates that there were balconies off of every upstairs bedroom. However, only one of the rooms actually had a balcony. The other two had windows. Needless to say, we had a terrible stay at this location. This deeply saddens me, as we save our money every year and look forward to our vacations at Topsail Island. Due to all of this, we deserve to be compensated for all the issues we dealt with this week in the form of a refund.

Treasure Realty Reservation #*** Topsail Beach rented as Oceanfront property, July 31, is not an ocean front property but public

Reservation #*** Topsail Beach rented as Oceanfront property, July 31, is not an ocean front property but public access. We have rented many times from Treasure Realty and others for oceanfront property on Topsail, this property was found on the website via a search for oceanfront - and we booked it. After renting this and locking in the property, we realized that the map on *** shows this is not oceanfront but rather requires public access walk to get to the beach. We called and spoke to 2 people, the first I did not catch her name and then *** who agreed that this is not oceanfront as it does not have direct beach access and that it should not show up in that search. She agreed that this would be cancelled and we would be refunded our money. Rental was booked at 10:47am at 1:11 we call and spoke to Person #1 followed by *** who agreed to cancel and email when cancelation and refund was completed. 1:53pm *** called back and told us that she cannot refund the property unless it rents again and even then we will be charged a 15% fee because we signed the contract. However the issue and complaint is that we did indeed plan to fully fulfill our end of the agreement and pay for the property, as well as to come and stay in the property as we have been doing for years with our daughter who is now 12 years old and has enjoyed at least one trip a year to topsail, most years 2 trips, excluding 2020 which was an exception. And every oceanfront property ever rented was indeed with walk out to the ocean front. In that understanding we asked to speak to a manager, we spoke to *** (*** - unknown spelling) and she said she did understand our point of view but was not willing to refund the money without the 15% cancellation fee - again we expressed that we are NOT cancelling for the sake of cancelling we are informing them that the property is misrepresented as oceanfront. *** then proceeded to inform us that oceanfront simply means that there is line of sight to the ocean from the property and this we can not cancel on that premise. At this point in time we are being held to a contract and paying for an oceanfront property that is indeed NOT an oceanfront property rather an Oceanview property and seemingly have no recourse and we were told there is no one above her to speak to regarding this matter. And for this request we are reaching out as a consumer to the ComplaintsBoard.com to help us recover our money in full if we proceed with cancelling this property. Prior to cancelling the property we request your help to resolve this issue. This was booked and the company contacted and a refusal to agree to the misrepresentation of this property as oceanfront by the manager, when the sales agent did indeed agree that this isn't oceanfront, all within a 2 hour period. At this point we have no choice but either go ahead and stay at this misrepresented oceanfront property, or lose 15% booking fee IF the property rents to someone else once we cancel and potentially be liable for the full amount if we cancel and it doesn't book by someone else.

Treasure Realty The owner/agent did not meet the maintenance standards set forth in our contract

The owner/agent did not meet the maintenance standards set forth in our contract. My guests and I arrived at ***. *** on 12/25. Our contract for rental was for 12/25-01/02 the cost of the rental was $3247.51. Upon arrival we were excited to find a beautiful house on the beach. We made ourselves at home, unpacked our vehicles and then celebrated Christmas with our kids. Once presents were done we began to move into our rooms and explore the house. Two things we noticed right away were the screen completely off the third floor slider and the cover off of the hot tub. The deck railing on the third floor closest to the living room was not structurally attached to the house. So we had to tell our kids constantly not to touch the railing. We found this to be unsettling. I noticed the smell of mildew when we first walked in but we were excited to be there and to celebrate the holiday. As we walked downstairs to the kids floor the smell was even more apparent. There were damp rid containers leading from the second floor down to the first floor. Our customer representative, ***, never said one word about water damage or mildew or to excuse the damp rid containers littering the steps. If any one of us suffered from asthma this house would have been uninhabitable. We were instructed to bring our own linens, which we did but found that the quilts on the bed were stained and did not smell freshly laundered. So I took the quilts off of the kids beds (bunk beds) and found a pair of dried up contact lenses. Gross. We spent most of the night washing all the blankets. We then headed to bed. The next morning 12/26 we discovered mold on the shower curtain liners, dirt, hair and filth in the corners of the bathroom. Underneath the coffee table and two of the three couches we found cereal, I'm talking like 1/2 a box of cereal. You didn't even have to move the coffee table to see it. There were food crumbs and a dead roach. All of the furniture had a layer of dust. We had to do a complete cleaning with items we had to go out and purchase (bleach wipes, disinfectant, etc.) This was a deal breaker for us. I sent an email to our customer service rep, ***, that day. I put in detail what happened and why we were unhappy and that I looked forward to resolving the issues we were having with the rental. I still to this day have never received a response from ***. On 12/29 I decided to reach out to *** from Treasure Realty. I had her contact information from an email she had sent about a payment for the property. I thought *** might be on vacation for the holiday and maybe *** was in the office. I sent her a very nice email stating that I had reached out to *** about issues we were having and had not heard anything and maybe she could help assist. On 12/30 she responded if we were having issues to contact the office or text a phone number. I then replied that I would need for her to put me in contact with a person who can explain as to why our rental was not cleaned. Her response was that she will get my information to the appropriate person and have them contact me. As of 01/07 I am still waiting. I was hoping with the pandemic at its most crucial point that the rental would have been cleaned according to the strict standards set forth by vacation rental companies, hotels, VRBO, etc. In my opinion the rental property was not fit to be rented. Treasure Realty has "The Treasure Home Care Cleaning Commitment" listed on their website. "While making lasting memories and enjoying your beach vacation on Topsail Island, you deserve a peace of mind when it comes to the cleaning and care of the home you are renting." "Your safety is our highest priority." "Treasure Realty is committed to the health and safety of our guests..." The standards they include: -Disinfection and sanitization -Proper use of PPE -Recommended products, cleaning agents and equipment -Updated surface cleaning and inspection processes -Trash removal and maintenance
