Very disappointed with the service I received today. Ordered a 10" truck on Monday to be picked up Friday 4pm in Herford NC. I was called a 3pm today (about 24hrs before pick up time) and told that I could pick up the truck at a location 62 miles (almost a 2 hour drive) away. I reserved a u-haul for one way drop off for $170. I drove the vehicle around the corner (.1 miles) and it stalled out in the middle of a 4-way stop. It would not stay started at all. I called the rental place and was told we cant have anyone run down to check on it but then showed up with gas (and it had 1/4 of a tank) he then tried repeatedly to start it and of course it didnt. Looked under hood, then said man i'm sorry you need to call the u-haul roadside which I then did.
After 25 min on hold I was told someone would be therein 60 min even though I was in the middle of an intersection. One hour and 45 minutes later I get a call from a tow company asking if I needed a jump - start? What I stated the vehicle wouldn't turn over. He then said call the roadside again which I did, on hold again another 30+ minutes. Told she was placing me on hold for just a few minutes. 37 minutes later no one came back on. I hung up thinking I had been disconnected, called again while having to wait. Now 3.5 hours in on side of road. Tow truck showed up at 6:30pm. I told the rental company I needed a vehicle before 5:00 when they were scheduled to close as I had a scheduled move at 10 am in the morning. The rental company said sorry nothing I can do. I then had to search for another company to get a u-haul from since at this point I did not have any other options. I ended up paying $380+ for the new u-haul and had to have it returned by the afternoon the next day in the city in which it was reserved in (very inconveinient) this is complete fraud and not legal as I paid for the first vehicle without even getting around the corner from where I picked it up. I want my money back from the first truck that should have never even been charged to me. And I feel I should be refunded for the second rental since it was the incompetency of your company that lead to this mess.

March 20, 2021 reservation [protected]. A male Rep with blue eyes and a shaved head helped me. 2nd Rep, a 20-something male with red hair was hot-headed while the other guy helped me. Neither wore a mask. Rep 2 said many, many, hostile, threatening belligerent things. I am male but I did not feel safe in that office. That red hair Rep was threatening.

I thought a reservation meant you had a truck on your date. I'm guessing they didn't call because they didn't have a truck. They left me high and dry. Glad I reserved that other truck just in case!
Don't be cheap and get stuck with no truck.

hello rented a truck from uhaul in nova scotia to bring stuff to ontario and what did i get a mess first off truck had no heat at -17 outside, the doors worked but you had to really work them just to close the doors, there answer you signed the contract bye, bye, the fastest the truck could go was 50 mph on flat land and if you went over that speed the engine sounded like it was going to blow as well when you hit a hill down to 40 mph took almost 24 hr to get from nova scotia to ontario what a joke uhaul are still waiting to here back from them since i did put a complaint in, i guess uhaul does not like complainst when the dealer i got the truck was a ford dealer .what i should have done was just take the truck to the mto/dot and have them go over it, it would have failed, maybe uhaul would have had there eyes opened real fast because they would of had to pay me for down time a second truck and loaders . the only thing i found was when i took the truck to my drop off spot they where great, when i told them the problems i had they downed the truck on the spot and where taking the truck to a real ford dealer to get it fixed right, since it all comes down to a name and they want thier's better, they do not let anything go out unless it is fully mto/dot approved and everything is working . as for uhaul still waiting to here back about what that company is going to do for it's customers !

I had a false sense of security because of the affiliation with Uhaul, a company that I no longer have any respect for. Adding to the false sense of security is the claims section of the website, which is a farce, and the fact that usually there is since protection that comes with using a credit card as payment. The movers hired through the site didn't mention that they badly damaged several pieces of the furniture during the move. It didn't occur to me that I needed to inspect every piece after they said they successfully moved everything. After finding my mirrored dresser, headboard, antique chest, and washer damaged, I contacted movinghelp.com and filed a claim through their website. Their response was they are a neutral party and don't do anything (though they have the claim section of their website and of course collect a fee with each booking). The moving company won't respond and movinghelp won't even require them to respond and continues to let them advertise on their site. I am so disappointed in both the moving company and the website. I was scammed by both.

On 8-30-2019 I rented a U-Haul truck for moving. On 9-1-2019 I returned the truck to a location in New Weaverly Texas. 6 days later I receive a phone call asking if I want to extend the rental because it was not returned. I explained to the lady the date, time and location of where the truck was returned. I was told not to worry about it and that it just probably wasn't logged in. On 9-25-2019 I was charged $350.00 for the truck not being returned. After calling back and explaining everything again I was informed by your employee that she sees the notes explaining that it was turned in on time and that she didn't know why I was charged. This is theft! Now I am being told that the money will not be returned for 5-7 business days. I live paycheck to paycheck and now have to put off paying bills until you finally get around to returning what you stole. This is unacceptable. The only thing that I did wrong was trust a crooked company such as yourself and now I have to pay late fees on bills that I can't pay until you put back money that you were not authorized to take in the first place. I have put this review on every social media site and every review site that I can get my hands on and you can rest assured that I will also be seeking legal action for this. I will not be made to suffer because of your incompetence and your inability to not investigate things before you get money hungry and steal from your customers.

I went in because I had already express ordered my u-haul so I ask how it works. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and ignorant and then tried to say she couldn't take a license with a slight crack though we called u-haul and you can so there's no reason. She was so rude I will never ever be going back to that location again I hope this woman loses her job because she is the worst customer service i've ever come across in my entire life coming from someone who's worked in the customer service industry for over 10 years. We offered her my daughters license but my daughter does not have a credit card so I was willing to give her my credit card which has the same last name and she straight up was like no no no no... There is a representative by the name Justin whom is atheist and called me ignorant for believing in Jesus Christ. He has been trying to put me on the no rent list twice now. The regional manager Troy is in cahoots with him and threatened me that he owns uhaul and he will not take the E alert off that he is the only one that can.
I will never rent from that place which is convinient near my home.
u box storage
Too many issues to list here. The last straw was when your ubox driver picked up my boxes prior to me being notified (on the date we agreed upon) and took 3 containers back to the facility in Tempe. This is the second time within the same move that they were picked up and moved to that facility without my knowledge. The most recent pick up was done without calling the day before or morning of. My boxes were not ready. I came home from work and they were gone. I got in touch, they stated they had them and one was locked and all 3 had items on them. I advised them that they were not supposed to pick them up without confirming with me by phone. They asked manager for approval not to charge me again and they approved it and brought them back the same day while I was at work.
I don't know if driver was mad that she had to come back but she literally put them in the driveway blocking the entrance to the triplex behind my house. I'm being charged $496 from my landlord for multiple violations. I shouldn't be paying for your enployee's negligence. My previous grievance went unanswered. No resolution or phone call. If they did call they called from private number AND did not leave a message. Again, unprofessional. I am planning on spending more time writing the full story from beginning to end when I file my official complaint with the BBB.
I just want this nightmare move to be over. U Haul you are not helping!
