Hidden FEES depletes money on card
Received 2 Vanilla gift cards from work each with $50. The cards were activated per the vanilla website when I check the balance on the cards. However, there was $0 balance and it was due to monthly fees from the card company. I do however have a 3rd vanilla gift card that was activated the same year and it still has a $50 balance. I don't understand why the other 2 cards charged a monthly fee and I never used the cards. I called customer service but no help.
Desired outcome: It would be great if they stood by their claim that "Card funds never expire." They should say "Vanilla charges a monthly fee that depletes your balance". I think vanilla should replace the 2 cards.
Vanilla Gift Card
They put my card on hold for some reason. I have been waiting for a month and a half for them to resolve the issue (30 business day rule). It has now been 30 business days and the issue is not resolved. Customer service is horrible, as I have dealt with them 3 times now.
I'm not sure if I will ever get access to my $500 gift card, and there is no escalation process. Everything goes to the call center in India.
Gift Card
I was given a Vanilla Gift Card for Father's Day on June 18, 2023. They did not tell me how much the card was good for, so I attempted to check the balance online but would get a message "System Error" or "Invalid Number". Eventually I finally got through once and found out the card had been used up with six charges to "Google google". I called Vanilla Gift Card Customer Service but to no avail. Each time I call, I am placed on hold for up to two hours. When I do get through, I get the run around that they have received my dispute, but it will take 45 to 90 days to resolve. that means they get to use my money for up to 90 days interest free. Hopefully this will get resolved by September 26. What a rip off.
I've been waiting 9 months for a replacement card
I've been calling since January 14, 2023 for a replacement card. Which I didn't need my card worked just fine. 1st time called sucked 2nd or 3rd time was good the guy just turned my card back on and then got turned off again. I've been with our car insurance since Feb. Bc of this I still had 83 or 84 dollars left on card to pay my insurance case numbers [protected] and [protected]. All bc someone called and said it was there card it's my card I've had it I opened it up out of the thing they come in I got it from a convient store on casswhite rd. Cartersville ga 30121. just bought a visa card for 35 plus the 5 bucks activation fee...i have purchased many of these in the past without any problems but now this card does not work anywhere no where online will accept it ...i called the customer service to speak to people who dont even speak english..very frustrating and even worse typing all those little credit card number in just to say declined...this has been lesson learned i might have a lost my 40 bucks...but this place will never get my buisnes again...total rip off do not buy a vanilla gif card there not the same as they use to be

I received a $500.00 Vanilla Gift Card on April 27 and went to use it on May5 it declined. I called the number behind the card and she said it was used.
I told her I had just opened the package so how could someone use it . I forwarded copies of the card , front and back and the purchase receipt.
I called a week later and they confirmed they had received the copies. She said now it was up to the fraud dept to resolve it and forward a replacement card . I was told on July 1st the card
was mailed but as of today Sept. 11, 2023 nothing has been received.

Visa Vanilla Gift Card
Purchased several gift cards for graduation season. My nephew was unable to use his $250 card. When I inquired with CVS I was told to call Visa directly. In doing so I have gotten nowhere. In July they requested a copy of the card which we sent immediately. I was told a new card would be issued in 30 days. My nephew destroyed the original card assuming a new one was on the way. It is 9/11 & we still didn't get a replacement. Now I am told they've authorized the original card. That does us no good since it was destroyed. I e called ever day with zero results. I am given an apology, told they will escalate the case but after that nothing happens. I've attempted to speak to a supervisor during every call, I've been on hold for hours at a time & a supervisor never comes to the line. I feel I've been scammed with no recourse.

I put 75 dollars on a gift card and I used all of it to preorder a game but then decided to refund it. After a day or to i check to see if i can use it but it never works when i go to check balance or use the card just completely doesn't work. Unable to use card online
Bought a $500 gift card. It says you can use it with Google wallet. I went back in forth in circles with customer service. I was told that I had to use the card in person as a debit transaction and it would solve the issue. Went to the store spent $20. Entered the debit pin. Transaction approved. Tried to add to Google wallet, will not add. Called back and was told this card is unable to be added to Google wallet.

Customer service - resolving issue
Hi have been working on a claim since June 26th, 2023 with Vanilla Prepaid,
It is now September and the amount of time and energy on waiting and hold has been terrible. The card was gifted for $200.00. I have a claim number, submitted the copies of the receipts, and card as requested, called numerous times and get no answers only someone will call me withing 24-48 business hours. -

Can someone please let me know what’s being done to get my money back to me. I just really think it’s unfair to me when I simply purchased this card put my money on it and it gone I really need my money. I purchased a Vanilla Visa card for $100.00 on Sept. 1, 2023. It never worked. Customer service said it wasn't activated. But I have the activation receipt. Sept. 5th, I went back to the store where it was purchased and when we looked at the card it was noticed that a sticker was over the barcode. The sticker looks like the barcode and has numbers on it just like the card barcode. Only thing, the sticker barcode does not match the card barcode. That means when the card was "activated", the clerk scanned that sticker barcode and my money went to wherever that sticker sends it. My card was not activated. We checked the Visa cards on the rack in the store. Several cards were found that have stickers over the barcode. Other vanilla visa cards on the rack did not have stickers over the barcode. Check your card to see if the Barcode numbers match the numbers on the activation receipt. See if there is any sticker covering the card barcode. Besides that, I would recommend filing in small claims court, complaining to your State Attorney General, and any fraud section your State has available. Only 7% of claims have been resolved through the Vanilla Visa customer service. That doesn't make for good odds that your claim or mine will be resolved by customer service.

I purchased a $60 Vanilla Gift Card (Visa) from my local Safeway store on 8/26/23. I went on the Vanilla Gift Card website on 9/01/23 to activate the card. I was scammed May 25th, this year. I purchased six $500 cards, took pictures of front and back of cards, also the receipt. After sending these images, my suspicions grew and I reported the theft. I received a Vanilla Gift Card from a friend a year ago. It was purchased on 8.30.22 at a local Harps store. I have not been able to activate it, and I found out yesterday that someone else had used it. I am getting ready to go on vacation and wanted to use the card on vacation. I called the number on the back of the card and COULD NOT get a person to talk to. All I got was a recording on how to check my balance or file a claim for a stolen card.
I looked up on line and found another number, which I was able to receive a dispute claim number of [protected] and was told by the CSR Tanisha that I would receive 2 emails that I needed to respond to.
I called that number again today and was told by the CSR that I couldn't file a claim after she accused me of lying to her about what type of card I had.
I really just want to talk to someone about this card and get this resolved.
