the consumer rights act 2015
Under the regulations list in The Consumer Rights Act of 2015 all secondary ticket sales have to show the full face value of the tickets. Viagogo do not therefore a claim can be made against them for every sale.
I have made a claim through my bank and I am awaiting their response. The bank have already advised that as long as I provided proof they would refund my account. Finding proof was easy.
I forwarded to my bank the following:
A copy of The Consumer Rights Act
A screen shot from Viagogo without any face value displayed.
A screen shot from the venue showing the face value.
Confirmation of my replacement tickets, at face value, proving tickets are available.
Details of organisations around the world who are or have taken legal action against Viagogo.
Emails to their "customer service" department requesting a refund and explaining why.
An email to Eric Baker, Viagogo's CEO.
ticket purchase
I was overcharged for tickets that were mis represented with the wrong map for the event which led to me to contact support based on what I thought was an easy mistake to resolve on Viagogo's part. But it was not even though I detailed the issue clearly with screenshots. I had to take a loss on these tickets and will not use Viagogo again. i am now on a complaint spree to all online venues I can find as I was never allowed to speak to a supervisor or escalation person in support.
concert ticket
Hello
I have paid a huge amount of money for 2 tickets for guns n roses on the 14 Nov in kuala lumpur category 1. On top of additional fees I had to pay to get them delivered to me. Today I received an email telling me that I got an e ticket for category four. Order [protected]. Your phone number does not answer. It says not in service.
If you don t help me I want to [censored] I knew I was ripped off but to that point I will. I swear I will.
unethical behaviour
I bought ICC world cup tickets from viagogo thinking it was an official site. I asked them to cancel my purchase for which they said they cannot do and only way to get a refund is to relist the purchase and redirect the seller to the buyer. Now they say the refund can only be done after the event is over. Even though me not being the original seller. They have charged a very high amount for the tickets. I want my refund back as I am not the original seller nor I can be held responsible for the tickets. Can you please help me get my money back. My original purchase order numbers are -.[protected] and [protected].
The relist order numbers are - [protected] & [protected]
ticket price
On every other website tickets to see George Ezra at the Barroland Ballroom in Glasgow are sold out. Bearing in mind Tickets to see him were around £35 each.. and he fact he is amazing I understood why.. however I seen online that tickets on viagogo were available.. I was delighted! However... said tickets on viagogo are £238 EACH! I feel sick to my stomach! You are able to purchase hese tickets, not as fan, not as a person who would enjoy the gig - purely for money making matters. It is NOT ON!
What a rip off! I thought you as a ticket tout are not allowed to make that much profit on tickets..? (If at all?)
I am taking this further! very much further!
online tickets: afrikaans is groot south africa
On 25/09/2018 I purchased tickets the Viagogo site under the name Afrikaans is Groot, i didn't realise I was on Viagogo's site as I googled "Afrikaans is Groot". Viagogo quoted me R840 (ZAR) but deducted R2257.90 (ZAR) from my account. When I received the tickets via email it showed it was only R250 (ZAR) per ticket so R1757.90 (ZAR) more than what it should have costed. I am in South Africa and would not knowingly buy tickets from a company in Switzerland who is operated from England. This you only see after the tickets is purchased.
No answer but will see on 1 December if I’m allowed to enter the show. If not, I’m flying to the Viagogo headquarters to claim my money back — because I can!
Did you get any answers? I think I just made the same mistake :-(
Let me know if you were actually allowed to enter with these tickets. Unfortunately I read all the HORRIFIC #Viagogo reviews too late!
I want to know if the tickets for Afrikaans is Groot is actually user-friendly. I don't care so much about what I paid but I wouldn't want to get to the doors and then there is no seating or issues with my tickets.
we wrestling tickets
Dear _?
I refer to the email I sent on the 24th of september 2018, subject [protected].
I have taken the tickets off resell. I am disappointed that this was the only solution offered to me by your company as the price I paid for these tickets are not to their accurate value of $190 each and I am not willing to sell the tickets to other individuals at the price we paid. I have researched your company and and there are many individuals who have suffered the same as I have.
Again, I request a full refund for the purchases due to the aforementioned reasons.
Regards,
Sam ibrahim
harry connick jr tickets the palladium
I purchased these tickets the day they were released and it seemed only resale sites had them when I looked. The same tactic was used that other customers complain about, rushing you to buy and counting down the time, stressing you to buy quickly. These are for a night out with my husband for my 50th birthday so I was panicking I would miss out! The site showed me an actual view of the stage from my seat and I could see we were only about 5 or 6 rows back so as a special treat for my special birthday I took the plunge paying £285 instead of the £120 face value as I was happy with the seats and he is only on 1 night.
I was surprised to see on my purchase email that no row was allocated so tried to find contact details for Viagogo to check something funny wasnt going on but what a joke to try and contact someone! Anyone!
Well my tickets have turned up today and they are almost right at the back, row T, not the first few rows as they lead me to believe! I am so upset and feel my birthday treat is ruined and I've been totally ripped off! I could have got seats in this section for half the price.
I want to be contacted for a full refund or the tickets I purchased as this is gross mis-selling and fraud, i have been totally lied to and feel so angry and upset.
sale of my tickets
I have been contacting viagogo since last 2 months.
This is the first time i used their portal to sell tickets and they have the worse customer support and transaction process. it has been almost 3 months now and I have not received a concrete answer from them regarding my payment. I am sending this complaint to my legal counsel as well and will be posting it publicly. I have given them a lot of chance to address this issue and they have failed to respond to it.
2nd July - Received an email that i will be paid in 10 working days
9th August - I contacted them and i was told that their team is investigating
1st September - I contacted again and i was again told that my transaction went through but they are forwarding it to department to further investigate.
3rd September - I once again contacted viagogo and this was the response "We understand that you are anxious to have your issue resolved, but please rest assured that we are working hard on it, and as soon as we have any news, we will contact you"
I have no idea what is the issue and what the hell are these guys investigating.
over priced ticket prices
a) The Viagogo web site implied that there were only a few tickets left for the matinee concert of Let It Be at the Empire Theatre, Liverpool. On being seated at the theatre, there were many seats unoccupied. The web site deliberately was misleading.
b) The Viagogo site did not specify that their two tickets for sale were the cheapest (£12-00 each) being sold for £121-05 including delivery. Therefore their web site is guilty of "unclear pricing".
overpricing of tickets/vat not included/huge service fees not shown - hans zimmer 2019 tour
I have very recently purchased two tickets to Hans Zimmer Concer taking place in April next year in Barcelona via Viagogo portal.
I was wrongfully mislead to believe that the tickets for the event are selling extremely fast 'in front of my eyes'. I was notified that only 3% of tickets are available. In addition they claimed that 90 sectors are already sold out where this is simply not true. What they don't tell you is that by 3% of tickets available and sectors sold, they, in fact, mean, the tickets they have available for sale themselves!
Furthermore, number of notifications popped up during my purchase, information gathering/entering to remind me how many people are currently looking at the same tickets which added to the hasty purchase/confirmation without realizing how much they add on to the ticket prices for VAT and service fees!
I find their trade tactics highly unfair and misleading!
They literally convinced me that the tickets I wanted will sell within minuted and therefore I made my purchase hastily based on that sole belief since the tickets were meant to be a gift for my partner and I did not want them to sell out.
I don't understand how can this website/provider be still out there and without any hassle misleading, tricking and defrauding us, the consumers.
I contacted them just few minutes ago and I am awaiting the response.
I realize you can put up your tickets for a re-sale with them, but you will only get the money paid for the tickets themselves (not for the handling/service charges) and only when/if they are actually sold. Disgrace! Take the site down. They are carrying out unlawful trading practices.
viagogo tickets
I was charged $509 for 2 tickets to Trevor Noah and then the ticket price on our receipt said $109. I was also charged a $110 booking fee. This is unacceptable and I will make sure no one I know buys off this if this the case. If not the booking free and handing and other fees that have nothing to do with the service should not be refunded, then the ticket price difference should be of $220. This is pure theft.
festival tickets
My experience is rather different to others here complaining about overspending. On 27th March 2018 I was genuinely defrauded of nearly €800 for two Electric Picnic tickets. I hope this review will jog a few others memories also as I think most forget this bit through the shock of the rip off. When you come to the very last "confirm payment" page (the page where in my case they lashed on an extra €400!) there are two buttons, on the right a black "confirm payment", to the left a yellow "I have a question" button. There is no "refuse payment/I dont accept" button etc. etc. because they are filth. I had absolutely zero intention of paying that amount for the tickets but was afraid if I x'ed out of the page I'd be charged anyway. I pressed the yellow "I have a question" button and hey presto! my payment was confirmed! Blatant fraud. My heart jumped into my throat, I got straight onto Viagogo and my bank immediately. The bank could do nothing and Viagogo refused to reply to any of my emails, couldnt get anyone by phone and only responded when I demanded the tickets off them. I then basically spent the next few miserable months trying to break even on these horrendously overpriced tickets as there was no way I could go to the event now with such a bitter taste in my mouth. In the end, I was so stressed trying to sell them on I ended up losing out around €150 in total. Apparently this lot cant be taken to task as they are deliberately based outside the EU. I cant really believe nothing can be done to shut them down but I urge everyone please please please dont engage with them, walk away, read this review and be warned. If I prevent one other poor person going through the stress and hassle I experienced it will be worth it. And would really appreciate if others could let me know the same thing with the yellow button happened with you, you might not remember this is really what they do and like me, you NEVER confirmed payment, we were just ripped off completely!
car parking information
I have tickets booked for The League of Gentlemen on Saturday 1st September at Manchester Arena which say they include parking? However there is no information with the tickets as to where we are supposed to park? When you e paid well over the odds for the tickets I do feel you should be sending out all the information at the same time? Many thanks
tickets to edinburgh tattoo
I purchase tickets at great expense to Edinburgh tattoo - they are confirmed . But they have not been forwarded to me. Order number [protected] - 2 tickets. I requested they be delivered in Australia by Aug 15n as we are leaving Australia on August 17. No sign and contact emails have all been condescendingly useless. And now I am told by the festival organisers that Viagogo is not an authorised ticket seller for the festival so have I lost my money totally or can you email them to me to show they are real? Or alternately - where can I collect in Edinburgh - I do not have an accommodation address to use to pick up tickets.
I am most disappointed as I have had positive dealing with Viagogo previously - this is awful and I certainly will be letting friends know that this is not a company to deal with. Also - all phone numbers on website are shams. What is this about?
ed sheeran tickets
Please find attached copies of tickets i purchased on 28th February 2018 via the Viagogo website for two tickets to see Ed Sheeran in The Stade de France, Paris, France on Friday 6th July 2018.
In May we were alerted to and read several articles in the media regarding the fact that Ed Sheeran would not be honouring tickets purchased through sites such as Viagogo without confirmation and proof that the ticket holder matched the name of the person watching the concert.
In light of this I purchased 3 additional tickets through ticketmaster so as not to miss the concert or be turned away on arrival at Stade De France as the names on the live nation tickets were not mine.
On the tickets purchased through Viagogo these had the name of Arnaud Coquet and Claire Bellamy both no relation to us. (see below links)
This has meant that I am out of pocket by GBP472.36/ EUR534.05.
In addition I also further purchased through ticketmaster at face value additional tickets so that my son and I did not miss the concert as it was for his birthday and we traveled to paris just to see the concert incurring hotel, meals and Eurostar/ travel costs.
I also attach information and articles pertaining to the non-acceptance of tickets purchased through Viagogo to Ed Sheeran concerts.
I dispute this charge categorically and would ask that a refund is obtained for the full value of these.
This has been a very frustrating and upsetting experience and one I would like brought to a swift conclusion.
Thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter.

invalid tickets from viagogo
Request for money refund
I have bought 2 tickets for an Ed Sheeran concert in Vienna, August 8th 2018 through your company for 415, 91 GBP. I obtained 2 original tickets (see enclosed PDF). However by the entrance gate to the stadium we were told by staff, that the tickets are invalid due to violation of the terms and conditions of sale. The tickets were crossed out (see the PDF attachment) and we were forced to buy new tickets for an original price 100 EUR each. The confirmation of cancellation issued by organiser „oeticket.com" is enclosed (PDF).
I require immediate return of 415, 91 GBP to my account. However I do not agree with overpriced resaled tickets, I can still accept it in need. Resold invalid tickets, moreover given as a present to someone should be considered a crime.

pearl jam concert
I bought ticket for Pearl Jam at Arena O2 - London on the 17th of June (the concert had been postponed to July, 17th) and I've told that I should keep the same order, same ticket for this concert. After 2 hours at the queue, I discovered that someone had the same ticket and was already inside of the house. I had to buy another ticket and now I'm NOT finding anyone to answer for the 133, 53 I paid on the first ticket. Someone must be in charge for this fraud.
arctic monkeys
I ordered 5 tickets over 2 separate orders and paid over £2500 for them. I now have a family wedding to attend on the day of the concert but they will not let me relist the ticket because the seller has to accompany the buyer into the venue.
It is over 8 weeks before the concert and so I don't see what the problem is. Surely all they have to do is tell the seller the new buyers details. The are insisting I can't resell. Lot of money to lose
