Viagogo Inc - A Cautionary Tale of Deceptive Practices
As a potential customer considering Viagogo Inc for your ticket needs, it is crucial to heed the warnings shared by numerous dissatisfied customers. The reviews paint a grim picture of inflated prices, fake tickets, and poor customer service. One reviewer described their experience as a 'nightmare,' highlighting the stress and frustration caused by Viagogo's unreliable practices. Another customer felt scammed after realizing they paid double the face value for tickets that were misrepresented. It's evident that Viagogo's lack of transparency and exorbitant pricing have left many feeling cheated and disappointed. Proceed with caution and explore alternative, more reputable ticket providers to avoid the pitfalls encountered by others.

Easy and convenient way to get tickets
My son is a big soccer (football) fan. We planned a trip to Spain for his spring break. In January, I bought 3 tickets via Viagogo to watch the Real Madrid vs. Levante on March 15th. It was easy to purchase the tickets online and I immediately got a confirmation email from Viagogo. A month later, I received another email confirming the date/time of the game. Then a couple of days before the game, I received a third email with detailed instructions on how and where to pickup the tickets. On the day of the match, we followed the instructions, got the tickets (the pickup location is about 10 minutes walk from the stadium), and went to the game. We thoroughly enjoyed the game and it was one of the highlights of the trip. I will definitely use Viagogo again in the future.

It concerned order *** purchase of tickets for the Porto match. I sincerely advise against it, it is not the official ticket distributor of the Porto club and the club confirmed that it is "fake" and nothing to do with VIAGOGO. Tickets arrived in Lisbon on the day of the event at 14.30 and the match was of course in Porto, despite many contacts that tickets do not exist and should be delivered 3 days before the event or we asked for electronic tickets, they were promised that they would be sent, but they were not sent by the start time. I do not understand such behavior of this company and of course a refund for tickets was written to us that it is not possible. HJ I advise everyone against this VIAGOGO company and I recommend platforms that have contracts for the distribution of events in a given country. This company is a hoot.
THIS WAS SO PERFECT THAT I PROBABLY WONT DO IT AGAIN BECAUSE IT CAN ONLY GO DOWNHILL FROM HERE
Bought 2 really cheap tickets for champions league (Bayern - Shakhtar) 2 months before the match... they were for business class seats...
Tickets were sent a week after the purchase, and i got them 2 days after sending...
So that means i have had tickets for my match 2 months before the game... i was over the moon... because i have read all the bad comments here so i thought that i wont get it until 5 days before the game... then i thought that they might be fake... because its too good to be true...
Not just that i have bought them for really good price, got them 2 months ahead, i even got upgraded to even better seats!
When i got to Allianz Arena i was so afraid that i was fooled and that the tickets were fake... and when i got in... i was so happy...
This was the best thing in my life so far... i had the time of my life...
Thank you viagogo, thank you mr. Patrick!
Frustrated. Read below. But overall, delivered
I ordered tickets in April for the WWC in France. Left the US to go to Spain before arriving in Le Havre for the game on June 20 (arrived the 19th). I had my tickets delivered to the Le Havre hotel and arranged to have someone sign. On first delivery attempt, the tickets were so badly damaged that the receptionist declined to sign. They were returned. As of June -8th Viagogo was replying to my frustrated communications with emails saying they were working on the situation but they wouldn't be responsible if I didn't receive them. You can imagine my frustration. I had already booked a hotel, flight and promised my two children they would see our home nation play in the WWC. I was beyond frustrated. Needless to say Viagogo just kept reassuring me they would get me the tickets. Ultimately, despite the anxiety and frustration, they delivered the tickets as promised and the seats were exactly right. Good job viagogo
Great service
I bought tickets to see the Swedish metal band Sabaton for their concert in Chicago on October 26. When I bought the tickets I started to see all the negative reviews about how it's a scam and I shouldn't buy from them. About a week or two before the concert I got and email saying the tickets I got earlier were fakes, and they sent me 2 new copies of the tickets. I was anxious from the time I got in my car all the way until they scanned my tickets. The tickets scanned, my friend and I got in and we had a great night. From my experience Viagogo is a good company with some people who try to scam buyers using the site. This review won't bring any money back that may have been lost but it should give some confidence to anyone who is trying to buy from them that their are good sellers out there. Thanks to Viagogo for being so quick to resolve the issue with the tickets and gave me a great night. While I personally won't be using the site again due to all the bad reviews, I will say that their service and support is greatly appreciated.
This Seller Satisfied
I recently sold tickets I had purchased for an event that occurred in Russia this year. I was unable to attend at the last minute due to a family emergency.
I was able to set my own price based on Viagogo's recommendation and sold tickets for five of the seven matches I had tickets for. By way of comparison I listed tickets on Stub Hub International for one match and never heard back from Stub Hub and could not even find my listing on line.
Viagogo notified me when the sale was about to take place, confirmed I still wanted to sell my tickets, thereby giving me the option to back out if with no penalty.
I confirmed I still wanted to sell the tickets, I then got an email from Viagogo with a FEDEX Label attached to it. I printed out the label, put the tickets in the FEDEX envelope pressed a button to schedule FEDEX to pick up my tickets and the FEDEX driver came and picked them up within the requested time period.
One day before the match I received a notice that the person that bought my tickets had received them. One day after the match I received a notice that my payment would be processed in 5-7 business days.
Exactly 5 business days later the funds were deposited in my account.
Viagogo - Great Service, too many Whingers
I personally have been more than happy with the Service as a Seller. I've not been well and therefore unable to attend some venues and have been able to Utilise the Services of Viagago to move on my tickets which i am unable to use. I have read many reviews criticizing hidden charges but have proceeded to checkout the purchase as if i was going to buy tickets to see how you are advised on costs. It is very clear throughout the checkout process what charges are going to be applied at final payment. People are slating Viagago including the Government and MPs, why is the same level of criticism not being applied to GETMEIN part of Ticketmaster Companies which operate very much in the same way which have also used also? Ticketmaster Group are no better than any reselling companies as they Sell face value tickets but then happy to promote GETMEIN on their Ticketmaster Website when Venue Tickets have sold out as a Second Lifesaving option... The bottom line is that people buy from Ticket Reselling sites as they have not been to get tickets for various reasons at the initial point of Sale including not realising tickets were on Sale by their favourite Artists and upon realising want a Second chance of being able to buy often 6 - 12 Months later after the initial tickets are offered on Sale but now sold out. Two Words - Buyers Remorse, we've all experienced it I'm sure, we've bought something in life but then had second thoughts about our purchase. Like anything in life whether it's a new car, House Purchase, your favourite chocolate, but like all products and Services, the true cost and Value of them is only decided by the Purchaser themselves on how they value what they're spending their money on. Therefore if you don't think some tickets are of true value to you it's simple... Don't buy them as buyers remorse is likely to creep in real quick,,,,, there will be someone else just around the corner that believes they are of personal value to them. Viagago offer the same services as GETMEIN and other similar Companies, we all have the option to say yes or no, so make your choices and stop whinging!
ONLY MIIDEL MEN 100%+++ inflated cost for tickets!! DONT USE!!
In their own words" viagogo is a platform that connects people who want to buy and sell tickets for live events.
Ticket prices are set by sellers and may be above or below face value (the amount the event organizers print on the tickets). You'll see this on our homepage, event pages, and other key areas of the site. We value transparency and make sure to show the final price, which includes any additional feeds, prior to buyers completing a purchase."

Viagogo Review: Rollercoaster Ride for Jeff Lynne's ELO Tickets
I gotta tell ya, my experience with Viagogo was a bit of a rollercoaster ride. Let me give you the lowdown.
So, my family of five was super pumped to see Jeff Lynne's ELO in Dublin back in April 2016. I bought the tickets from Viagogo five months in advance, even though they were twice the price of Ticketmaster. But hey, that's just how the market works, right? The real kicker was that we had to travel from abroad, which meant flights, accommodation, and a whole lot of expenses. And Viagogo knew this from day one.
As the show drew closer and closer, I started to get antsy about our tickets. I tried contacting Viagogo through their website, but there was no phone number for buyers to call. So I sent them a bunch of emails, starting four months before the show and continuing right up until two weeks before the show. They always responded politely, but with the same old story: "Don't worry, everything's under control, the seller will deliver the tickets on time."
A few days before our flight, I managed to find Viagogo's phone number on an internet forum and finally got to talk to a representative. But even then, the answers were always the same. They guaranteed that I would get my tickets no later than three days before the show.
I kept nagging them (by email and phone) right up until the day before the show. And then, 24 hours before the show, they dropped the bomb: there were no tickets. Can you imagine how we felt at that point? They offered us five other tickets, but they were way worse than the ones we had originally bought. And they only offered us a measly 175 Euro as compensation. We took the offer, but we were pretty unhappy about it.
On the morning of the show, we finally got our new tickets. But they weren't even five consecutive seats, like we had been promised. To make matters worse, the show was cancelled just two hours before it was supposed to start. Obviously, that wasn't Viagogo's fault. But when I contacted them again, asking for help, they just told me to resell the tickets on their website. That wasn't really an option for me, since I had to leave Ireland the next day.
Here's the bottom line: Viagogo might work fine for 90% of transactions. But when things go wrong, they really drop the ball. The representatives are always polite, but they don't seem to have any sensitivity or understanding of the situation. I mean, couldn't they have bought the tickets back from us once the show was cancelled? I've bought tickets from other companies in the past and never had any issues. I won't be using Viagogo again.
Viagogo Review: Terrible Experience with Download Festival Ticket Purchase
So, like loads of other people, I had a really bad time with Viagogo and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I only used them because they promised me a cheap ticket for the Download Festival, which I paid for more than 3 weeks before the event. At first, everything seemed okay - I got a confirmation email saying that I'd be able to download my ticket no later than 3 days before the festival. But that wasn't true. Two days before the festival, I still hadn't heard anything, so I tried to contact them. But it was really hard to find any contact details on their website - I had to look everywhere.
Eventually, I gave up and hoped that they'd get in touch with me. They did, but it was just another confirmation email with a new order number. They didn't explain what had happened to my original ticket, but I guessed that something had gone wrong and they'd had to find me a new one. But that ticket never arrived either. I was really worried because the festival was starting in less than 24 hours. I had to speak to someone at Viagogo, but it was really hard to find a phone number that worked. I had to listen to really annoying hold music for ages before I finally got through to someone. They did eventually give me my ticket, but when I got to the festival, the staff on the gate told me that it was no good because the original buyer had got a refund. I had to call Viagogo again and listen to more terrible music. They gave me numbers for 5 other tickets, but none of them worked either. In the end, I had to get a refund and buy a ticket at the festival box office.
But even that wasn't the end of it. They told me that it would take up to 10 days to get my money back. I thought that was really unfair, so I called them up to complain. They said that it always takes 10 days for a money transfer, but I don't think that's true. I've transferred money before and it's never taken that long. There are loads of other things I could say about Viagogo, but I'm really tired now. All I can say is that you should avoid them if you can.
Viagogo Review: A Platform for Ticket Scalpers to Rip People Off
I gotta say, it's a real shame that most folks only think to check out reviews of a company after they've had a bad experience. It's like, why not do your research beforehand and save yourself the headache, ya know? But I digress. Let me tell you about my daughter's experience with Viagogo.
Last October, she and her brothers bought a group of 5 tickets for the Drake concert at the O2. The ticket description was pretty simple, just the block and row. They were celebrating another brother's birthday, who happens to be autistic and doesn't get out much, but loves Drake and was super excited to go. The tickets cost ?101.00 each, plus a booking fee of ?143.46, delivery fee of ?9.95, and VAT of ?28.69, for a grand total of ?687.10.
My daughter thought that with such a hefty booking fee, she was getting some pretty good seats. But when the tickets arrived on February 2nd, just three days before the concert, they were in the "restricted view" section and had a face value of only ?55. The seller had purposefully left out this important detail, and my daughter wouldn't have bought the tickets if she had known.
According to Viagogo's own terms and conditions, sellers are supposed to provide accurate descriptions and details, and not mislead buyers. But when my daughter emailed them to complain, they didn't respond. When she called, they told her there was nothing they could do. I even got in touch with Action Fraud, who confirmed that this was fraudulent behavior, but Viagogo still wouldn't budge.
I called Viagogo myself and spoke to a guy named Geoffrey, who promised to investigate and call me back. He never did. When I called again, I spoke to Marcel, who made me give him all the details again and promised to call me back after talking to the "Executive Customer Care" team in London. Surprise, surprise, he never called back either.
Honestly, it's pretty clear to me that Viagogo is just a platform for ticket scalpers to rip people off. They don't take any responsibility for protecting their customers, and they make it seem like you're buying tickets in a safe and secure market when you're really not. It's just not right.
I've reported this to Action Fraud and I'm going to pursue a refund through the County Court, but it shouldn't have to come to that. Viagogo needs to step up and actually protect their customers like they claim to do.
Viagogo Review: Hidden Fees and Customer Service Woes
I gotta say, I had a pretty wild ride with Viagogo. I tried both buying and selling tickets through their site, and let me tell you, it was a rollercoaster.
First off, when I bought tickets for a big futbol match, I was hit with some pretty hefty commission fees that were hidden until the transaction was complete. And even then, I didn't really know what seats I was getting. Viagogo told me I'd get paper tickets a week before the match, but then the venue changed and I had to relist the tickets. Viagogo didn't update the ticket information for the new location, so I had to threaten a credit card dispute just to get them to respond. Eventually, the tickets sold and Viagogo told me they'd redirect them to the buyer. But then they changed the tickets to e-tickets and their online system wouldn't let me upload them for the buyer. I had to email Viagogo multiple times just to get them to confirm what was going on. And even then, I'm not sure if I'll actually get paid for the sale.
Overall, I think Viagogo has some serious issues with transparency and customer service. It's frustrating to deal with hidden fees and unclear ticket information, and it's even worse when you have to jump through hoops just to get a response from their team. I'm not sure if I'll use their site again in the future, but if I do, I'll definitely be more cautious and proactive about making sure everything is clear and in order.
Scammed by Viagogo: My Experience with Fake Trevor Noah Tickets
So, my husband bought me two tickets for Trevor Noah's show on December 21st as a Christmas present. Unfortunately, we found out a few days later that the concert was postponed. We tried to contact Viagogo, but there was no phone number available, so we called Ticketmaster instead. They told us that we had been scammed and that our tickets were fake. Apparently, these scammers buy one real ticket from Ticketmaster and make several copies of it, which they then sell online with huge admin mark-up fees. It's unbelievable that we fell for such a scam. We're not even going to be in the UAE next year, so we can't even try to turn up to the venue to find out if the tickets are fake or not. The Ticketmaster guy told us that we would never get our money back, so we're out of luck. I wonder how many other people have bought tickets from this Mr. A Nestorov.
I did some research and found out that Viagogo is under investigation in the UK. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has secured a court order against them, which hopefully will apply in the UAE as well. The court order instructs Viagogo to comply with the law by telling purchasers of tickets if there is a risk that they will be turned away at the door, informing customers which seat in the venue they will get, providing information about who is selling the ticket, not giving misleading information about the availability and popularity of tickets, making it easy for people to get their money back under Viagogo's guarantee when things go wrong, and preventing the sale of tickets a seller does not own and may not be able to supply. Viagogo must also ensure that they do not repeat historic failures to make their customers aware of the face value of tickets on sale through their site.
Andrea Coscelli, CMA Chief Executive Officer, said that this court order is a victory for anyone who decides to buy a ticket through Viagogo. People who use these resale websites must know key facts before parting with their hard-earned money, including what seat they will get and whether there is a risk they might not actually get into the event at all. Viagogo has agreed to a comprehensive overhaul of its site to ensure it respects the law, just like the other resale sites who have already signed commitments to improve the information they offer and give people a fair deal.
This court order is a significant outcome for consumers and must be complied with by mid-January, the same deadline set for other resale sites that have already agreed to change their practices. It has been secured after Viagogo agreed to address all of the CMA's concerns, without the need for a trial. The order is legally binding and enforceable by the court. The CMA continues to work closely with partner agencies and enforcers to drive up standards in the sector.
Viagogo Review: Frustrating Experience with Third-Party Ticket Reseller
I recently had an experience with Viagogo that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had ordered four tickets for the Phantom of the Opera in Melbourne for my daughters' birthday celebration. The event was scheduled for December 27, 2022, and I wanted to make sure we had good seats, so I ordered early.
When I searched for tickets, Viagogo was the first website that came up. I felt pressured to buy right away because they claimed that there were only a few tickets left. I didn't realize at the time that Viagogo was a third-party marketplace, and not a legitimate ticket seller like Ticketek or TicketMaster. I ended up paying $584.73 for Section D Reserve tickets.
After purchasing the tickets, I received a confirmation email with my order number. I didn't hear anything from Viagogo until August 7th, when I followed up on my tickets. They confirmed by email that I would receive them no later than December 6th. Their app also showed this information.
On December 7th, I checked the app again, but the eTickets were still not loaded. I emailed and called customer service, but I didn't get a response right away. I was getting anxious because I wanted to print the tickets before we traveled from Sydney to Melbourne. I read reviews about Viagogo and realized that they were a third-party marketplace/reseller website. Their website didn't look like one, and I was under the impression that I was buying from a legitimate ticket seller.
After a lot of emails, a phone agent named Cesar called me. He informed me that the individual seller of my ticket would load the eTickets, and I would receive them on December 16th. I was getting anxious because I read reviews from people who paid for overpriced tickets and ended up not receiving them. I didn't want to risk it, so on December 9th, I went to the official website of Arts Centre Melbourne (event organizer) and bought my tickets from there. I only had to pay $446.00 for 4 tickets, and the seats were better (Section A Reserve). It was $140 cheaper, and I also received confirmation that the eTickets would be emailed 3 days prior to the event, on December 24th.
So I called Viagogo on December 9th to request to cancel my order and have my money returned. I spoke to 3 agents (Daisy, Theresa, and Mitch), but they said they would not be able to cancel the tickets. Their only solution was for me to resell or relist the tickets (which I still didn't have, by the way). They sent me a link by email, and I had the option to resell the tickets and even mark up the prices! Since I had no other choice, I relisted my 'non-existent' tickets under relisting no. ***685. I did not mark it up. I just wanted to get back what I paid for. They said that once I had a buyer, they would notify me and pay me a few days after the event. If there were no buyers, then they said they would not be able to assist - so I would end up having 4 tickets that I wouldn't be able to use. But I think the more likely scenario would be that I would not receive the tickets and also wouldn't get a refund.
By the way, I also got an email that said my re-listing could not be posted to Viagogo because I hadn't uploaded a proof of face value or screenshot of the original purchase of my ticket. How could I do this when I was not the original seller and had not received any tickets!? It also said "Listings are rejected after 15 days from their creation date. If we don't receive the required proof within that timeframe, we will unfortunately not be able to activate your listing for sale in Australia." Is this a joke? The phone agent told me to disregard that email, but at this point, I didn't trust anyone from Viagogo.
That's why I'm writing this review now to prepare for lodging a complaint with NSW Fair Trading. I also kept all email correspondence just in case. This scam company needs to be closed down for good.
Viagogo Review: Extremely Overpriced Tickets and Poor Customer Service
I recently purchased two tickets for the XX concert in Basel, Switzerland from Viagogo. I must say that the tickets were EXTREMELY OVERPRICED, but I was willing to pay the price to see my favorite band. However, I faced a lot of issues with the delivery of the tickets. The tickets were supposed to be shipped under the same tracking number in December, but they never arrived. The tracking number was 19 digits instead of the normal Swisspost 18 digits, and I could not track anything. I received no delivery card, nothing, and a week and a half before the concert, I started worrying and sending several emails to Viagogo asking for help and assistance.
I received generic replies addressing the issue saying that they would reply to me in 48 hours, but no reply ever came. I had to resort to calling Viagogo 3 days before the event, but their STUPID phone service would not let me speak to a customer service staff if it was not less than 72 hours before the event. Even then, the assistant promised to help and send me an email addressing the issue so I know it's official, but I received no email. I called again the next day and had to explain my issue all over again, and once again another assistant assured me that she will look into it and send me an email. I received no email.
The next day, I called in the morning and had to explain to YET another assistant ALL over AGAIN, and I told her I would not hang up until she sent me an email addressing all that we said so I know that Viagogo was looking into it officially, and I was not just receiving lip service. She did, but I received no updates on any new tickets and had to call a few hours later, and explain yet again to another new person. That person started going on about how they were investigating the tickets, and that the tickets weren't collected. At this point, I lost my temper. It was a DAY before the event, and clearly, even if the post tickets were found, they could not be delivered to me on time, so why was Viagogo still bothering?
I demanded that e-tickets be issued to me immediately, especially because I had to fly to Switzerland for the concert, and did not want to call when I was overseas. I wanted to settle the issue before I flew. A few hours passed, and I received no email, no updates. And I called again. This time, the customer service staff assured me they were sending me e-tickets by email to my account already, and I asked to make sure it was TWO to replace both lost tickets. The woman, Nicole, on the phone assured me yes yes, BUT I checked that evening at the airport and found that I only had ONE, to my utter frustration.
I called once again, to be put on hold for 10 minutes for the upteenth time, and the woman I had to explain everything to AGAIN told me the office couldn't issue tickets after 6 pm, but she would look into it first thing tomorrow, and I would receive the tickets by 10. Tomorrow, by the way, was the day of the concert. I checked the day after, at 11.30 am, only to find, completely expectly, NO SECOND TICKET in my account. I was furious. I had to accumulate so much extra phone charges calling from Switzerland, especially because Viagogo always put me on hold.
I called and this guy picked up. He told me that chasing was not helping me get anything done faster, which is ridiculous because if I didn't chase Viagogo would never respond to any of my emails. He also said that Viagogo has been working on my issue since I called 3 days ago, which is a LIE. How can any investigation take so long? It should take a few hours at most. It is NOT a murder investigation. He said that the worst-case scenario would be that I don't receive the second ticket, and I receive a refund. But that meant that I would have to go to the concert ALONE, without my friend.
In the end, I did receive the tickets a few hours before the concert, to my relief. It is ridiculous, the way Viagogo has dealt with this issue. SUCH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, and I will NEVER use Viagogo ever again. My friends and I affected by this issue will be sure to tell our friends about this terrible service, which already SEVERELY OVERCHARGES for tickets, and is clearly out to cheat our money because of their reluctance and uselessness with replying. This experience has just been so incredibly STRESSFUL. Up till the day of the event, I had to worry about the tickets. So much for 'tickets guaranteed' by Viagogo. Disgusting.
Viagogo Review: A Scalper Scam Website Misleading Customers and Mistreating Them at Every Turn
I just had the worst experience with viagogo. I was in a rush to get presale tickets for an artist I've been dying to see, and I didn't realize that the first result on Google was an ad for a reseller website, not a legitimate ticket sales site like Ticketmaster. I clicked through and missed the small text up top saying they were a ticket marketplace, and all the large pop-up banners saying "only 2% of tickets remain" and "your tickets will be sold in 10 minutes to another buyer" and "80 people buying these tickets now etc." I was so worried about missing out that I rushed through the buying process and ended up paying $319 for the tickets, plus an extra $160 in book fees on the last page. I received an email confirmation, but no row or seat number, which made me suspicious. When I told my partner about the tickets, she informed me that the website was a scalper scam website.
After doing some research, I found out that the same tickets would have cost approximately $220-280 on Ticketmaster, including booking fees, versus the $480 I was just rushed into spending. I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth for paying for basically 4 tickets and receiving 2. But it got worse. I found out that viagogo has a terrible track record in its reviews on Trustpilot, with 1 star from 25 thousand reviews. There are countless cases of people getting far worse seats than they paid for or worse, completely denied entry at all.
I could accept my mistake in buying overpriced tickets, but now it seems entirely likely that I'm going to be put in the worst seat in the house, having paid double what those around me had, or flat out denied entry to a show I've been waiting 8 years for. This concerned me greatly, so I found with much difficulty the contact details of viagogo to pursue a refund, though their FAQ assured it was impossible. I received again and again copy and paste generic responses assuring refund was impossible, and it was unlikely I would not receive the tickets or I could try sell them myself, losing $160 in booking fees, with a chance they wouldn't sell at all.
I also contacted my bank only 20 minutes after the purchase once I realized my mistake, and they said there was nothing they could do. I've never felt so conned and mistreated with an online dealing, and that this company is still afloat baffles me entirely. It's perfectly apparent their website is designed to mislead customers into thinking they are buying legitimate tickets and rushes them through the process. The exorbitant $80 booking and processing fees are clearly a part of this scheme, designed to make easy money when people realize their mistake and try to resell the tickets (an option and link they provide all too easily) and then again make the booking fees off of the next unfortunate soul to stumble into their hell-spawned website. For the record, these "booking fees" were nowhere to be found on the invoice emailed to me, showing only $319 for the tickets, with $480 gone from my account.
This company mistreats its customers at every turn, and it's infuriating it's survived at all. I wouldn't have believed a company could get away with so much bull$#*! for so long, although it looks like the law is not far from cracking down on them. In short, tickets at twice the normal price with a high chance of getting worse tickets than paid for or flat out no entry at all, and I've read even then a refund is difficult. What a joke. Never again. Everyone, please boycott this mess. If only the billionaire behind it had to give it all back... hope he likes his island and jet haha.
Viagogo Review: Unethical Business Practices and Poor Customer Service
I recently purchased tickets for a Real Madrid soccer game from Viagogo and I must say, I was extremely disappointed with the service. Viagogo consistently lies about the true availability of tickets and overprices them by more than three times their face value. I bought six tickets that were shown on the seat map to be in the center of the field together, but when I received the tickets, they were not together and were located behind the goal in the last row!
When I complained to the online Viagogo attendant, they were not helpful at all. They simply told me that I could resell my tickets myself using their service, which would result in me losing hundreds of dollars! I spent over $300 per ticket with Viagogo for six seats that are now for sale for $100 and my six seats are not even together! I want all six seats together or my E1811.40 fully refunded.
I was delighted to repurchase six seats together which would be much better seats for a much better price! However, Viagogo's response was unacceptable. They never disclosed on their website when I ordered that all my tickets would not be together! It is a necessity as I am traveling with my children. No other online ticket re-seller splits up ticket packages and Viagogo should not be able to get away with this unethical business practice.
Viagogo can quote me their hidden internal policy, but if they don't list that policy up front in easy-to-read large print on their website purchase screen, they are misleading the customer the same way they misled me one month ago on their website by saying "hurry only a few tickets left", when tickets for this event are not even available or released for sale until one week before the game! All the above is nothing less than dishonest business practice.
So I asked that my request for six tickets together or a full refund to allow me to repurchase six tickets together be sent up to a supervisor or manager for approval. Otherwise, I feel it is my obligation to go to Google reviews and every other online business rating website to express my dissatisfaction with Viagogo and illuminate their poor business practices for everyone to read including a cut & paste of their written corporate response to me in this email.
In case Viagogo hasn't noticed, they do have competition and I truly hope they make the only right decision. I find it interesting that they have no reasonable response to the multiple serious accusations I posed against them in my previous email. I guess all those accusations of unethical business practices and false marketing are true since they choose not to defend them.
Restating their protective internal policies and putting the burden on me to fix the problem Viagogo created and to resell the ticket package that they deceitfully sold me with seats apart, further shows me their complete disregard for customer service and the truth. Viagogo needs to quit their unethical business practices and treat people honestly and decently.
Look for my searing reviews of Viagogo's lack of business ethics and even worse customer service on every internet website review possible. Obviously, I will never use Viagogo again and I will work to see others do not as well.

A complete scam, and you're not getting your money back
I've just been subject to the horrible sham that is viagogo
Upon rushing to get presale tickets to an artist I was desperate to see, I didn't realise I didn't realise the 1st result that came up on google search was an ad for a reseller website not a legitimate ticket sales site like Ticketmaster. I clicked through and missed the small text up top saying the were a ticket marketplace (which doesn't exactly explain their inherent difference to something like tickmaster at all) and all the large pop up banners saying "only 2% of tickets remain" and "your tickets will be sold in 10 minutes to another buyer" and "80 people buying these tickets now etc." (also great timing I had almost run out of dat and had been waiting to see this artist back in nz for 8 years) I rushed through the buying process scarred I would miss out.
After being sold the tickets for apparently $319 an extra $160 was added in book fees to my order on the last page... Having gotten so far with only minutes to go before my tickets were supposedly forfeit (and thinking these were the legitimate prices) I reluctantly accepted and paid
Via credit card.
I received a email confirmation but no row or seat number, which raised my suspicion. Having called my partner excited with news of our tickets she informed me the website was a
Scalper scam website. After doing some research I saw the same tickets would have cost approximately $220-280 on ticket master including booking fees, versus the $480 I was just rushed into spending, and I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth for paying for basically 4 tickets and receiving 2.
But it got worse,
Able to accept my foolishness this once and accepting my lesson-learnt; never to use anything but ticket master, I'm now looking further into at the abhorrent track record of viagogo in its reviews on trust pilot (1 Star from 25 thousand reviews).
https://nz.trustpilot.com/review/www.viagogo.co.uk
It seems there are countless cases of people getting far worse seats than they paid for or worse completely denied entry at all.
I could accept my mistake in buying overpriced tickets, but now it seems entirely likely I'm to either be put in the worst seat in the house, having paid double what those around me had, or flat out denied entry to a show I'd been waiting 8 years for.
I also contacted my bank only 20 minutes after the purchase once I realised my mistake and they said there was nothing they could do.
I've never felt so conned and mistreated with an online dealing and that this company is still afloat baffles me entirely. It's perfectly apparent their website is designed to mislead customers into thinking they are buying legitimate tickets and rushes them through the process. The exorbitant $80 booking and processing fees are clearly a part of this scheme, designed to make easy money when people realise their mistake and try to resell the tickets (an option and link they provide all too easily) and then again make the booking fees off of the next unfortunate soul to stumble into their hell-spawned website. For the record, these "booking fees" were nowhere to be found on the invoice emailed to me, showing only $319 for the tickets, with $480 gone from my account.
This company mistreats it's customers at every turn and it's infuriating it's survived at all. I wouldnt have believed a company could get away with so much bull$#*! for so long although it looks like the law is not far from cracking down on them. Back to the shadows whence you came viagogo.
In short, tickets at twice the normal price with a high chance of getting worse tickets than paid for or flat out no entry all, and I've read even then a refund is difficult.
What a joke, never again, everyone please boycott this mess. If only the billionaire behind it had to give it all back... hope he likes his island and jet haha.

I bought 2 tickets through Viagogo to see The Dualers at O2 Oxford, UK.
It stated that my tickets were confirmed but I would not receive tickets until 16th September (which is the date I had booked the tickets for). I then went on to the venues website to check details and this gig was not even listed for 16th September. It has been rescheduled to the 4th November (which is a date that I am unable to make).
Viagogo are still advertising and SELLING tickets for this gig that no longer exists.
I have contacted Viagogo through my account to request a refund but have had no response.
I contacted The Dualers, who said that the show has been on the November date for many months now, so why are Viagogo still able to sell tickets?
I was not aware of their reputation but looking at previous complaints, they should be shut down. I will be taking this to Trading Standards as it is falsley selling and illegal.
Desired outcome: I would like to receive a full refund for these tickets that i purchase for a gig that doesn't even exist

The weekend concert ticket
The problems I encountered were:
1. Resale process
I purchased The Weekend tickets on 9 March and due to personal reasons I was unable to attend the concert. Due to personal reasons, I was unable to attend the concert and on 16 June, I selected automatic resale using the resale system on the viagogo platform. I successfully sold all the tickets and sent them to the buyer. I did not receive the exact tickets until a few days before the concert on 8 July. I purchased standing tickets and ended up receiving information that the actual tickets were seated tickets, which in turn were standing tickets in the PDF, which seriously misled my understanding of how to process the ticket information. As I was very busy during that time and trusting the platform, I didn't check it carefully. In fact, it was the original seller who provided the wrong tickets.
After the concert, the platform charged me £300.46 for an "incomplete order" and assumed that I had provided the wrong ticket information.
Firstly, I didn't change any of the information on the ticket and secondly, I was wrongly fined because the ticket seller who sold it to me sold me the wrong ticket and I was one of the victims. All the processes were handled automatically by the platform for me, simply because I was the only one tied to a bank card that was automatically debited. It is extremely unfair to ask me, the consumer, to pay for errors that occur in the system and mistakes made by the original ticket seller.
2. Premium and unfair ticket prices
I purchased The Weekend tickets for £204.44. I did not receive the exact tickets until a few days before the concert on 8 July, when the price was shown as £113.80. This is more than double the actual price and seriously undermines the fairness of the sale and the rights of the consumer.
3. Customer Service Inaction
The customer service experience I had when trying to resolve these issues was not satisfactory. They promised on the phone and sent an email confirming that they would cancel the fine for me. But a week has passed and no refund has been received for the cancellation. I have since contacted other customer service on the platform and the representative I spoke with was unhelpful and dismissive and did not offer any viable solutions or alternatives to rectify the situation.
Desired outcome: 1. Financial loss2. Mental and Time Loss
Invalid tickets - seats numbers do not exist
Hi - I purchased two tickets for Taylor Swift at Anfield next June via Viagogo. On checking the seats purchased (Row 88, Section U4 - seat 68 and 69) it appears these seats do not exist. I found this out by checking directly with Anfield and them supplying their 3D seating plan - seats 68 and 69 do not show on their plan. I have raised with Viagogo and they have said there is nothing they can do. Clearly they have been the middle man in selling on invalid tickets but are not prepared to give me a refund or investigate the fact the tickets are not real. They are suggesting I can resell (why would I resell invalid tickets) or wait until a week before the actual concert when they will either refund or give me alternative tickets. Why would I wait until a week before the concert when I have to organise travel and accommodation for the concert (we live down South) and I am pretty sure (due to the high demand for the tickets) they will not be able to offer me alternative tickets). All I want is my money refunded and someone to take responsibility they they have not carried out due diligence in selling on the tickets to a third party.
Desired outcome: Please refund
Fraudulent sell to sebastian yatra tickets to a concert in Barcelona
Hello, my name is Ana Diaz. I bought a concert ticket to go see Sebastian Yatra in Barcelona on July 11 through StubHub in CANADA (see confirmation email screenshot from StubHub below). I flew to Barcelona and when I got to the concert with my ticket, the organizers scanned it and said that there was an error when scanning the barcode of the ticket given to me by StubHub (see ticket confirmation screenshot below). CLIPPERS had no record of the ticket and they could not find it in their system. They let me know that I had been scammed, that the ticket was fake and that I needed to write CLIPPERS and email so they could provide me with a letter stating that I had been scammed and needed to get my money back (see screenshot of letter by CLIPPERS the official concert promoter in Barcelona). Not only did this cause me a financial lost, but it also cause me great stress at the time. I would like to receive the full payment back for the ticket that I bought as I was denied access to the concert and I had to pend an extra 60 EUROS traveling back and forth fro my Hotel to the venue. my email address is anita. [protected]@gmail.com. Feel free to reach out to me. I have proof of the purchase of the ticket and an official letter from CLIPPERS stating that they denied me access due to having a fraudulent ticket.
Desired outcome: I would like to received a full refund for my ticket OF 169 EUROS (attached is a picture with my payment information) which is about $250 CAN dollars

Viagogo Review: Overpriced Paul McCartney Tickets in Sydney
I just bought tickets to see Paul McCartney in Sydney, mate! We couldn't get tickets for the NZ concert, so we had to go across the ditch. I knew it would cost more, but I didn't expect to get ripped off like this. I paid over a grand for two tickets, and when I got the email with the tickets, I saw that each ticket was only $172.15. I asked Viagogo about it three times, but they just told me that the seller sets the price, and it could be higher or lower than the face value. They also said that the name on the tickets would be the seller's name, not mine. I don't care whose name is on the tickets, as long as they're valid, but I don't like being ripped off.
Viagogo says that they require sellers to input the face value of the tickets, so buyers can decide if they want to pay the price the seller is asking. They also show the face value and any other important info on the event page, so you can see it before you buy. But I didn't see any of that when I bought my tickets. Maybe it was there, but I didn't notice it. I was too excited about seeing Paul McCartney, you know?
Anyway, I feel like I got ripped off, and I told Viagogo that I won't be using them again. I don't like feeling like I'm being taken advantage of, you know? I just want to enjoy the concert without worrying about how much I paid for the tickets.
Viagogo Review: Shady Business Practices and Negative Reputation - Beware Before You Buy
Viagogo is a company that operates in a very shady and unethical way. This is something that you should be aware of before you decide to do business with them. As of October 2020, the company had 26 legal and government actions filed against them by multiple countries. They also have class actions suits filed against them by countries (not just individuals).
The CEO of Viagogo was let go from StubHub in 2004, after which he started Viagogo, and has since encompassed quite the negative reputation. In May 2018, BBC News reported that the UK Government's digital minister advised that consumers should not use Viagogo, one of the big four secondary ticket sites. Margot James said: "Don't choose Viagogo - they are the worst".
In August 2018, the UK's Competition and Markets Authority took Viagogo to the High Court for breaking the law; Baker did not issue any comment or statement. The company reached a resolution with the CMA in November 2018. In January 2019, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said Eric Baker risked jail over failure to properly protect customers.
My personal experience with Viagogo was not a good one. As you can see from the first picture, below, they do not show you the actual seat numbers they are selling you. It wasn't until I accepted the tickets and they were transferred to Ticketmaster that I found out they had sold me tickets quite a distance from the exact section that I had clicked on during the purchase.
I've tried resolving it and received multiple robotic emails, one of which makes absolutely no sense referring to my UK Ticketmaster account. I live in the US... don't have a UK account. I spoke with customer service to request an exchange of these bogus tickets (offering to pay more if I had to) for ones that I had originally tried to purchase. The woman kept insisting that they have a strict policy of no refunds because the third-party seller needs to be paid. That would make sense if it weren't for the fact that the last email I received, after being forced to resell my tickets (my only way out of this) states that I will not receive my money until 8 days after the event.
In my defense, I am very fuzzy right now with COVID and a little off my game, but I am not dumb enough to just take them at their word. Please be wary of this company. Their practices are helping them remain extremely profitable!
Viagogo Review: False Information, Chaotic Event, and Unfair Treatment
I had a terrible experience with Viagogo. I was so excited to attend the event I had purchased VIP tickets for, but when I arrived, it was complete chaos. I was trying to find out where to go for the meet and greet, but no one who worked there could help me. I walked back and forth in the heat, sweating profusely, just trying to find the right place. Finally, I found where I needed to go, but I was told that my VIP tickets didn't include the meet and greet. I was so upset and frustrated that I started crying.
When I purchased my tickets through Viagogo, it specifically listed what was included in the VIP package, and the meet and greet was on that list. I missed a lot of the concert just trying to find out where to go and what to do for the meet and greet. I feel like I was scammed and ripped off because the information listed for my tickets was false. I would never have purchased VIP tickets if I had known I wouldn't get to do the meet and greet.
To make matters worse, our seat placement was not where it was supposed to be. We were further back from the stage than we were supposed to be. I don't know if this is Viagogo's fault or Live Nation's fault, but it needs to be fixed. I feel like I was treated very unfairly, and Viagogo wouldn't even give me a refund.
I am highly upset and disappointed with Viagogo. I will never purchase tickets from them again, and I urge others to be cautious when buying tickets from them. There is even a Facebook group for people who have been scammed by Viagogo. I just joined it. Viagogo sucks!
Viagogo Euro 2016 Semi-Final Ticket Nightmare: No Tickets, No Last Minute Sales Team, No Refund for Exchange Rate Losses
Me and my mates bought some tickets for the Euro 2016 semi-final (Wales v Portugal) from viagogo. We were buzzing after Wales beat Belgium on the Friday evening, with the semi-final on the following Wednesday. Viagogo asked for a French address for the tickets to be delivered to so we sorted it out with a relative of one of our party in Bordeaux. We got to Bordeaux on Monday evening but the tickets hadn't arrived. By lunchtime on Tuesday there was still no sign of them and we needed to travel on to Lyon to the game the following day. We tried to get in touch with viagogo but it took us ages to get through to someone. Finally, we spoke to a lady called Laura who said she would find out what was happening and give us a call back. But we didn't hear anything for ages. My brother went to the local Chronopost depot to try and find out if they knew where the tickets were. Chronopost told us that all post that goes through their system has a tracking number so our tickets were either lost or hadn't even entered the postal system yet. We called viagogo back with this information and spoke to a different lady who said they were on the case and that they had alerted their internal last minute sales team who would be able to get tickets to us if these hadn't materialised. We asked to be kept updated and gave them the address of our campsite in Lyon and began travelling across. We still hadn't had a call back by 8pm so rang again and spoke to another lady called Eva (or Eve?) who assured us again that they would have tickets for us in Lyon.
But when we got to Lyon on Wednesday morning, there were no tickets. We got a phonecall from Laura at around half 10, and she told us that there were no tickets and that they would give us a refund. We were gutted. She told us that the last minute ticket team they told us about didn't actually exist and so there was no way that they could get tickets to us. All they could offer was an apology.
When we got back to the UK, I checked my online banking and realised that because the exchange rate changed between us paying for the tickets in euros and receiving the refund we are actually out of pocket too. I spoke to Aaron in viagogo about this discrepancy this afternoon but as far as he's concerned they've refunded the euros and that's it. I'm out of pocket even before considering my phonebill and travel costs.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend using this company. It's been a nightmare trying to get hold of them and they didn't even deliver the tickets we paid for. Plus, we're out of pocket because of their mistake.
Viagogo Review: Overpriced Tickets and Failed Delivery - A Complete Scam
So, I decided to give Viagogo a try and purchased four tickets to see Guns N' Roses in London. The price was steep at ?258 per ticket, but I was excited to secure my spot at the concert. However, as I rushed through the checkout process, I was hit with an unexpected booking fee, VAT, and delivery charge, bringing the total to a whopping ?1,400 or ?350 per ticket. I later found out that other sites were selling the same tickets for only ?165 per ticket, including all fees.
Despite the high cost, I was still looking forward to the concert and began contacting Viagogo about a month before the show to inquire about when my tickets would arrive. They assured me that the tickets would be delivered 1-2 weeks before the show, but I was worried that this was cutting it too close. What if there was a problem?
As the concert date approached, I received an alert from Viagogo that my tickets would be delivered by UPS on Friday evening. I was ecstatic and had five people waiting in my flat to receive the tickets. However, as the evening wore on, there was no sign of the tickets. I checked the tracking information and discovered that there had been an attempt to deliver, but the receiver didn't know anything about it and told the delivery person to take the tickets away. I was furious.
I tried to contact Viagogo and UPS to get my tickets resent, but all my attempts failed. The tickets were eventually sent back to the seller, and when I called Viagogo two days before the concert, they told me that they were not the supplier of the tickets and that they had been sent back to the original sender. They refused to give me the seller's contact information, and I was left without tickets and without a refund.
I am extremely disappointed with Viagogo and feel that they are a complete con. They charge exorbitant prices for tickets and then fail to deliver them. It's a scam, and I would advise anyone to avoid using their services. I am considering taking legal action to get my money back, as missing the concert is devastating, and losing my money because of their mistake is unthinkable.
