This organization is not in good communication with their clients who have retained them for collections
This organization is not in good communication with their clients who have retained them for collections. They called me many times, each time requesting I fax them a written transcript of information I learned from insurance. They apparently were unaware of the claim status. One bill had already been paid by insurance (and Wakefield didn't know) and the other claim required details from the doctor to be submitted before the claim could be processed. Never the less, Wakefield continued to harass me for payment.
I have an account with Wakefield
I have an account with Wakefield. I noticed that the payments I have made do not show in the amount owed. I called Wakefield and was told that they charge interest, NO WHERE on the statement does it state that they are charging interest. They are supposed to stop charging me interest. (we will see). They need to update their statements and tell people that they are charging interest and show on the statement the breakdown on payment and interest, It might help people understand what they owe. I was charged $984 in interest for 2021.
I have never heard of this company nor have I had any medical procedures (since that's what it seems they collect for) in any time period that would have led to the recent debt on my credit report. Additionally, I have had previous fraud attempts from the original creditor, ***. This company seems to be a fraud just like ***! There should be the option for ZERO stars!
Wakefield & Assoc from *** calls refers to himself and Ed stating we are a recorded line, verifies my name and then as for my *** and birthdate...um No sir! First of all, you never stated what company you were with - just no my caller id, and then you want personal private information. Completely crazy and unprofessional. Not sure what they wanted and don?t care!If you read this, send me a debt verification letter in the mail!
Made pmt arrangements and was told the judgement would still be filed. Was told I would receive a charge of $5.95 if I used my debit card to pay. Also that there would be interest charged on the balance. There was no request to see my income to verify what I am able to pay. No request to do budget analysis to see what I actually could afford. The person at the office, refused to let me speak to *** Wakefield who is the person I originally spoke to. Was condescending and so scripted there was no way to actually communicate. Why would I pay a *** if there is still going to be a judgement. I am a 63 year old divorcee with a limited income. Currently my budget is to the *** each month. When I talked to *** Wakefield he really put on the charm, like he wanted to truly help me. When I called back to make the arrangement, it was a typlcal *** collector. I should have filed bankruptcy but being alone at retirement age, my wish is to keep my credit in good standing. Now I will have a judgement whether I pay or not. Disappointed and disgusted.
This company is unprofessional. This representative named Mason called and every time he asked a question, he would over talk me. They need to get they stuff together. My credit is already crap. I will mess around and let 7 years go past. I don't even care. I wish I didn't have to choose a star. One star is too much!
This company has added my wife's collection to mine
This company has added my wife's collection to mine. I do not owe a portion of this best. I will be filing a lawsuit against this fraudulent claim against Wakefield and associates knoxville tn branch. Apparently the lawsuit filed against them in 2016 did nothing. They are a company that says they are above the law by practicing fraudulent claims still. They are also collecting interest on medical bills that originally do not have interest from the original creditor. I will focus on a class action lawsuit to help others collect from this fraudulent company.
Terrible! False advertising on my credit report about a account that someone else has had with the same name. They will keep harassing you for no reason. False misleading company that is scamming people.
These *** have been trying to reage a 15 year old medical procedure that was done out of network while under anisthesia. Doctored d*** have a record of it
This collection agency has claimed that I have multiple outstanding medical bills. The dates and times that these medical bills were created do not correspond to any time frame that I was ever at a hospital. I have provided to them on multiple occasions the proof that I was either at my place of employment or out of the state in one case, and yet they still claim that I owe this money, even though these accounts are clearly fraudulent. They obviously do not care about the fact that they are trying to extort money out of innocent parties. They need to be held accountable!

I had a medical bill that I didn't even know I owed. When I found out I took care of it right away. My Dr office reported it paid in full in June . It is still on credit report as delinquent I filed a dispute in Oct, followed up in NOV and Dec still nothing, I spoke to dr office yesterday the girl states that they have done all they can and its up to collection agency wakefield says that my dr office has to fix this. They need to figure this out!
I received a notice from my bank stating that I had a derogatory remark on my credit report. I obtained the information from them and promptly called Wakefield & Associates to get information from them. It was a bill from *** for services provided on July 13. I told them I had never received a bill from ***l or Wakefield regarding anything due. They informed me that they had sent a number of requests. I asked for the address that they were sending these notices to. They had an old address that I hadn't lived at for over 4 years. So I contacted *** and they had the old address as well. What I couldn't understand the ambulance picked me up at my correct address, I gave the same information to the ambulance driver and the hospital had my correct address. I talked with ***l and they were going to pull back the account, send me an itemized statement so I could process it with my insurance. That was back on January 26 - to date, I haven't received anything. When I call *** today - they told me that they couldn't do anything until my insurance company finished the negotiations. In the meantime, my insurance paid the going rate to the *** but still I am hanging in the wind. I have a bill that I don't owe along with interest. And to make matter worse - my credit report went from 750 down to 650. I want this removed immediately.

They disclosed personal debt info without verifying who I was first. The manager then instead of trying to understand my frustration goes in to try and get money from me, when he knew his rep violated FTCPA laws by disclosing all my personal debt info after only getting my first name. Not to mention I answered with my company name first, so they could've been talking to any Russell, if it was my boss or something it could've ruined my reputation here. They were both very uncaring and acted as if i knew nothing. Very unprofessional. He said that them not verifying is not law its my opinion, how do i want to settle this account?
There was a very rude woman in the Legal department
There was a very rude woman in the Legal department. I called one day to get an account balance, something didn't sound right so I got off the phone to check my own records. I called back and the woman who answered was incredibly rude and condescending, saying that nothing has changed since 15 minutes ago. Come to find out they did not account for one of my payments I made. She told me where to send my bank statement information but I am afraid to send it to the email she provided. After such a rude encounter with someone who feels so obligated to sit on her thrown, I don't trust that she provided me with an accurate email and I am afraid to call back. BEWARE!

I have sent all requested information to this collection company to prove that all 5 of the collection accounts on my credit were included in a 100% charity write-off by the companies involved but they have chosen not to delete the collections from my credit. When I went to the hospital I was told to fill out the paperwork for income-based charity write off and any *** from the hospital or subsidiaries would do the same. All were contacted once I received a *** but some were sold to collections before even sending a *** and those have been contacted as well. Was told they would all be closed and removed from my credit. These collection accounts by Wakefield are still showing even 2 and 3 years later.
They are out here ripping people by charging more interest than what the original bill actually was
They are out here ripping people by charging more interest than what the original bill actually was. My original amount was $538 but the reps tells me the I owe $649 because of interest. Out of all my bills I settled and closed, I have never had any of them charge me interest for my account. Even after trying to do a settlement in which, I tried to do at least 50% of the bill the rep says his supervisor will only allow me to do $500. I then told him that is not even half the bill considering my original charge was $538. I then asked for 50% of the $649 and he says $450. They are literally out her scamming off people who fall behind in debt and it is sickening. They are not willing work with you at all and I want the owner to know he should ashamed of himself of doing people that way. I have never been charged interest on any of my items and they are sick for praying on people losses like this.

Firstly, I have never in my life used an ambulance
Firstly, I have never in my life used an ambulance. A little more than a month ago, I received mail stating that I had an account that was sent to collections from an ambulance company. When I called W&A, they would not verify my account information without me giving a social security number, so naturally, I was concerned about fraud. I hung up and called the ambulance company listed on the collections notice. The ambulance company was not able to find an account number with my name and date of birth, and they could not figure out why I was sent that notice. Of course, because nothing was listed as being owed by me, the ambulance company could not contact W&A on my behalf to let them know that I had no debt. Fast forward to a week ago, when I had a ping on my phone from Experian noting that I had an account reported as collections - it was from Wakefield & Associates. I was able to submit a dispute through Experian that was resolved rather quickly, but this could have had serious effects on my credit, all because they couldn't be bothered to verify who they were going after.

I received a notice from Experian that my credit rating had dropped due to an unpaid collections bill
I received a notice from Experian that my credit rating had dropped due to an unpaid collections bill. I had no idea who Wakefield was so I called them immediately to find out why they were reporting on my credit. I got through to an agent named Alex by calling the 800 number associated with the report on my credit, he was very nice and was professional when he explained what the bill was. Turns out it was an emergency room bill from a few years ago, I had assumed my insurance had paid after I paid my co-pay and they hadn't. Rather than fight with the insurance company to get them to pay the bill and have it linger on my credit while they dilly dallied around, I paid it and will file with them for a reimbursement. Alex gave me the website to make the payment, he understood my hesitation giving credit card information over the phone, he stayed on the phone with me while I made the payment and as soon as it showed up in their system he provided me with a confirmation number, he then informed me the payment would post either the following day or Monday because I made the payment on Thursday. Payment did not post Friday but it did post this morning and I was able to print a paid in full letter. While I am unhappy I hadn't received anything in the mail prior to the hit on my credit, I completely understand things do get lost when they're sent via the USPS. That's the reason only for the 4 star review...I think when it comes to someone's credit the notifications should be sent certified to ensure delivery.
Would not let me know who was calling unless I gave them my dob and address
Would not let me know who was calling unless I gave them my dob and address. I told them I wasn't giving out personal info until I knew who was calling. 'Michael ***' told me that he couldn't divulge any info until I gave him my personal details. In explaining to him that I wouldn't give my details without at least knowing a basis for the call he became rude, told me I was 'given an opportunity' and I chose to not let him do his job and inferred this could cause me trouble. I explained again I wouldn't give my info out to a stranger, told them if they were legit and had my phone number they should have my address, and asked that they send me any required info via mail. I was told that was impossible unless I gave him my personal info over the phone, which I again refused. He told me to look up 'Wakefield and Associates', see what they do, and then, when I've read that, give them a call back. Professional? Not at all. Me? I'm a health care professional as is my wife. There is no HIPPA violations in giving a basis for the call, and the phone conversation could be modified to make the call receiver more comfortable - "Hi this is Mike, I work with a Wakefield and Associates, an agency that deals with collections and was asked to give you a call regarding a potential billing concern. If you can please confirm your last name for me...' As opposed to, "Is this M... C...? I need your date of birth." These caller's aren't trained properly, or if they are, they pay no attention to it. I'll be sure to share this story amongst my peers and make mention they should have their office managers look into their third source billing.
There were three amounts that appeared on my credit report from Wakefield and Assoc
There were three amounts that appeared on my credit report from Wakefield and Assoc. with 2 of them being duplicate amounts totaling $392. Out of that amount, two amounts are the exact same of $118 each. I called and spoke to an advisor who then said that the amount is $6000 for 7 accounts but only 3 were in collections. I told her that I did not know anything about that total amount and that I received financial assistance from the hospital. I had initially agreed to pay for the $156 of the amount that appeared on my credit report. I received a pay for delete by email and called in to make the payment. At that time, the advisor brought up the erroneous amount again and I disagreed to owing that total amount. I said that there is no way that I would owe that amount as I was a financial aid recipient. She said the amount was from 2019. She then said that she could not send me the notice for the amount because they had already done so which was a lie because she had just confirmed my mailing address just yesterday. I told her that I did not receive any letter. i've never received a bill from the hospital and I never owed that amount. I only was willing to pay the $156 amount as the additional 2 payments were duplicate amounts of $118 each that showed up on my credit report. S he then slid in that she would update the credit agencies assuming that she is going to now update with this erroneous $6000. I reject that amount because I never owed that amount. I also reject it because I never entered into any agreement with Wakefield and Associates for $6000. I reject the amount of $118 x 2 as a duplicate amount. For that matter, I also reject the entire bill because I was a financial aid recipient. The representatives tried to say they mailed a letter to my address and supposedly did it several times. However, I never received any information. They then tried to say they mailed it multiple times over the last year. But I just verified my address with them yesterday. So that is a lie. I told them that I never received anything and never had any knowledge of these amounts. And they used their claim of mailing the letter to suggest that I somehow received something. That is not true. I never received anything because I just verified my address. I then asked for proof of the amounts owed and they said they could not mail me anything. Then she sent me to a website address but the website address would not propagate. But it was a billing website. I didn't ask for their billing website. I asked for proof of the bill and then they wanted me to email them and I said, "the call is being recorded, you just verified my address yesterday, so send it in the mail." They also had my email address that I just gave them and they still would not verify it. Then the representative tried to say they called me and left a message and that one time someone hung up when they called on multiple occasions starting more than a year ago.. And that is a bold-faced lie because I just gave them my phone number today. He repeated to me the number that he on his file and I said, "that's the number I just gave you." It is clear that they claim they made an attempt to reach out and then use that as a suggestion that someone is avoiding the call when they clearly never had the number to call in the first place. When I spoke to them yesterday, they were in agreement of receiving the $156 and when I called in to make the payment, they pulled a bait and switch to say that I now owe $6000. How on earth would $156 or $392 turn into $6000. She only started asking about the $6000 AFTER she got my routing and checking account information. I then declined making the payment for $156. I called back again and was told that the three amounts was put on my credit report in order to get me to call in only to discover that it is a larger amount. I'm not sure what the issue is. I asked them why didn't they verify the amount before they posted on my credit report and they showed no care whatsoever. Why would they post amounts on credit reports without verifying the amount in the first place? I have an issue with the hospital in question as well and will handle that separately but this company is truly attempting to collect unverified debts, And ultimately I feel a bit concerned that the focus turned to this erroneous debt of $6000 only after I had given them my checking routing and account number for the $156 payment. This is out of talking to five different people in a 24 hour period. Utterly a big circle and ridiculous. Now they are supposedly verifying the account but regardless, the lies about suggesting that I received a letter (not true) or that they tried to call me (not true) is ridiculous and if they sent letters and called me for as many times they claimed, I'm sure that's a violation of some law, too.
Wakefield & Associates Complaints 15
This morning I received a call from Wakefield & Associates informing me that I have a delinquent bill for emergency services I received on June
This morning I received a call from Wakefield & Associates informing me that I have a delinquent bill for emergency services I received on June 1. The only problem is that I had those charges forgiven through a charitable service. Not only that, I have proof of payment. I spoke directly with ***, and they informed me that they did not authorize anyone to collect any debts and that, as I'd thought, my balance with them was at $0.00.I called Wakefield & Associates about this, and they tried giving me a story about how the attending doctor in the emergency room had charged me separately (a fact I checked with *** and was told was false. they literally laughed). Even if what they had told me was true, I didn't hear about it until today, and it's been in effect since August.Speaking of that, in September, I applied for a line of credit to buy a piece of equipment I needed to fulfill a very lucrative contract. I had every reason to believe I would be accepted for this credit, but it was declined due to this delinquency. I lost out on that contract and every contract that followed it. Wakefield & Associates wilfully and knowingly placed a false delinquency on my credit, resulting in this devastating loss to my family.Upon informing them of my intent to not only provide proof of payment but file this complaint and request my lawyer to file a claim against them to recuperate the losses I can prove I incurred due to their malicious and fraudulent behavior, they suddenly offered to have the delinquency immediately deleted from my record and asked that instead of reporting them or seeking legal action, I should just resolve it privately with them and again tried to justify and legitimize the delinquency.I am requesting the maximum amount of involvement your agency has the authority to exert on this despicable company. They take advantage of already disadvantaged people, relying on fear and ignorance to steal their money and ruin their lives.

I had previously made arrangements with them to have deduction taken out of my account, on the 15th and the last day of the month because those are the days that I get paid. They did not contact me but they changed the days to every two weeks. They claim that I agreed to this on a recording, but I never agreed to that. I would have never agreed to this due to my pay schedule. When they took the money out of the account it caused three overdrafts in the amount of $102.00.

I am ready and more than willing to take legal action against all personnel involved. I have served active duty for 12 years and currently still serving and all of my medical expenses have been covered. I have two active debts with this company that they have repeatedly called me about, though they never provide me with any information about how to pay the debt and leave a phone number that is not the one posted on their website. I have no way of verifying if these debts are actually mine and no way to go in and pay them, as they have also not sent me any mail regarding the balances owed.
This firm calls at least once per month, saying an emergency room bill for my daughter years ago has not been paid, and they are serving as the collection agency for that. The first time they called, I was suspicious, and asked to get an itemized bill first before making payment. They then asked me for my address, which raised a red flag to me, as I would assume if you knew my daughter had been to the emergency room and knew my cell phone number, you would certainly have my home address. I contacted the hospital a few months ago just to confirm that I did not have any outstanding debts, which they did. They also confirmed they had not sent anything to collection, and that if they had, that file would certainly have included my home address.

Initial transaction: PALEOPLAN.COM October 17
Initial transaction: PALEOPLAN.COM October 17. I logged into PaleoPlan website and canceled PaleoPlan membership well within guidelines of their policy. I received Confirmation Of Cancellation Email response from PaleoPlan support. I mistakenly assumed the promised refund would be issued and no further charges on my credit card. I allowed "up to 90 days" for refund process. June , I found PaleoPlan had not only failed to provide any refund but continued to charge my credit card $15.99 EVERY MONTH! Unfortunately, the credit card was "paper-free" and the payments automatically made from my bank account. The Covid Pandemic also hit in those months. Those factors contributed to not catching the discrepancy right away; I was now owed refund for $111.93. PALEOPLAN.COM website stated that I did NOT have a paid membership and declined my log-in credentials---even though I was being charged for a membership. There was no other contact method at their online site. I sent an email to the PaleoPlan customer support email address shown as Sender on the cancellation confirmation that I had received in October . I also contacted "ClickBank" via the contact information listed on my credit card. ClickBank stated that no further charges would be made to my credit card; they only agreed to recent transaction refund. They directed me to contact the "origin of the charges" PALEOPLAN.COM to get full refund and gave me a phone number for PALEOPLAN. That phone number was out-of-order. PaleoPlan.com did NOT RESPOND to the first email that I had sent, nor did they respond to the follow up email three weeks later. Then, I sent a third email and a physical letter to PaleoPlan corporate address listing. As of June 2022, PALOEPLAN.COM has not responded to my contact attempts. I have never received the full refund due or any other method of reimbursement. PaleoPlan online site is currently active but still offers no direct contact information by postal mail or phone.

Out of nowhere 6 accounts popped up on my credit report all linking to Wakefield and associates, completely wrecking havoc on my score. As you can assume I immediately contact them trying to figure out what is going on, 5 phone calls later and transferred 4 times I finally get someone that could explain the accounts(according to them they are all medical bills, I did go through a period where I was having heart issues when I got out of the military, but could not verify these dates were accurate). So reluctantly I went ahead and paid off 3 of the 6 accounts so I could get my Credit score revitalized, instead of waiting weeks for a dispute and then going back and forth. On May 11th I paid off 3 accounts:01-[protected] 01-[protected] 01-[protected].Totaling close to $400, I know, honestly it's silly having to take it this far over $400, but anyhow, I paid these off and requested a receipt or confirmation sent to my email, I was assured that they would send a confirmation that these accounts were paid and closed and they would report it to the credit bureau. I called at the beginning of the week and a women tells me that they can't send me anything in email until I email them first telling them what accounts and give them permission to email me, which I did(3 times now). Well, 2 weeks later I have not received a confirmation nor a response to my emails(3), every time I call they tell me they see I "made payments and closed accounts but they haven't reported this but they would sooner or later". I call this morning and speak with a gentleman, he proceeds to tell me that they "are backed up and will get to my emails when they can". I can't express how ridiculous this is and whoever is in charge of this location, region or district needs to get a grip on operations! I want/need a response and this handle by the end of the week, it's honestly so simple, send me my confirmation email from me paying with my hard earned money and then report that the accounts are settled!

In approximately August Wakefield and Associates acquired multiple accounts they claim I am liable for
In approximately August Wakefield and Associates acquired multiple accounts they claim I am liable for. Before making contact with me they furnished information about said accounts some of which was incorrect to Experian, Equifax, Transunion, and possibly other consumer reporting agencies. Upon notice of the change to my credit reports I contacted them to inquire about an address they could receive certified mail at. The agents I spoke with refused to provide me any information without first validating my identity. They would then only provide me with a P.O. Box number to receive mail at which cannot receive certified mail, and they also refused to provide me with the name of the agency they requested a consumer report about me from in order to dispute the incorrect personal information they have reported to the 3 above mentioned credit reporting agencies. As such they are in violation of multiple statutes referring to fair credit reporting laws 1) failure to notify a consumer that a report was requested within 48 hours and 2) providing the consumer with information about their rights under such and 3) certifying to the 3 above mentioned consumer credit reporting agencies that they will remain in compliance and adhere to protecting and informing the consumer of their rights, and 4) furnishing inaccurate information as such. When I was met with a wall through them I tried calling again, I had to call to 4 different locations around the country and speak to 7 different people in the same day because they started claiming they had additional accounts other than what was reported and that I had to call a different office to even get the account number in order to mail them a request for verification. At said time their representative told me that if I was going to be that way in reference to my requests in writing they could just wait and continue to damage my credit and that they had additional accounts to report to motivate me to pay, and approximately 6 day

Wakefield & Associates did not provide any notification that they were going to post to my credit report(s) and did not give me an opportunity
Wakefield & Associates did not provide any notification that they were going to post to my credit report(s) and did not give me an opportunity to verify/validate the alleged debts prior to damanging my credit files. Since I received no correspondence, and Wakefield cannot provide any evidence of delivery confirmation, I had no prior knowledge of the alleged debt(s) before finding the derogatory collection account on my credit report. I then disputed through the credit reporting agency and Wakefield "validated" the alleged date(s) as per the credit reporting bureus. Furthermore, Wakefield appears to have "re-aged" the alleged debt(s) as the date of last activity "DOLA" date appears to have been altered to reflect a more recent date. I was informed by the original creditor that Wakefield signed a business associate agreement "BAA." However, at no time did I authorize the original creditor to release my personal health information (PHI) to Wakefield and neither the original creditor nor Wakefield has provided to me a signed copy of such authorization. Thus, Wakefield and the original creditor are violating my HIPAA rights. Wakefield would be unable to "validate" any alleged debts without knowing certain personally identifiable information (PHI). Furthermore upon investigation, it appears as though their "***" security certificate and hosting plan are not in compliance with HIPAA, HITECH or FACTA. I have not received any evidence that their methods of data transmission are HIPAA compliant. It is my opinion that there have likely been security breaches and Wakefield has failed to notify me of such breaches. After contacting the orginial creditor, Wakefield then (in my opinion) spitefully and maliciously posted additional collections to my credit reports in what I believe to be retaliation for enforcing my consumer and HIPAA rights. In summary it is my opinion that Wakefield and Associates has violated multiple sections of the ***, HIPAA, HITECH and FACTA privacy laws.

I received emergency care at a hospital on October 20, after an allergic reaction.
I received emergency care at a hospital on October 20,2019 after having an allergic reaction to a medication/sedation during a surgical procedure. This reaction caused amnesia and delirium; however, my husband was present at the hospital and provided all the necessary insurance information. I was employed by the hospital and insured through them at the time, with secondary insurance coverage as well. I was unaware of the hospital bill and that it was unpaid by the insurance companies until contacted by an agency on 7/23. I immediately reached out to the hospital and inquired about the lack of communication, to which they responded with claims of returned mail, despite being able to contact us by phone on my husband's cell today. In discussions with the hospital's claims department, I was told that it was my responsibility to provide insurance information, despite my condition of amnesia due to over-sedation. It seems they failed to properly diagnose my condition and were unaware that I was incapable of providing insurance details. They waited 10 months to notify me, yet I am expected to have no recourse in filing the claim with insurance, even though I was just made aware of the situation. No attorney or collection agency should pursue an individual without proper notification and due process. I am requesting that the hospital bill the insurance correctly, as my husband's service to this country entitles us to benefits that include no medical expenses, co-pays, or deductibles. The hospital's actions demonstrate an abuse of power and poor service, further justifying my consideration to file a malpractice lawsuit.

I received a call from Wakefield and Associates on 2/15 stating they were calling regarding a "personal matter"
I received a call from Wakefield and Associates on 2/15 stating they were calling regarding a "personal matter". It was like pulling teeth to finally get them to explain they were a collections agency. The woman (I didn't get her name) said they were attempting to collect a debt that I owed to *** Urgent Care for date of service 05/20 for $120. The bill was for services rendered to my now 12 year old daughter. I remember specifically that this was the day my child sprained her ankle and went to urgent care for xrays. I also remember receiving and paying my bills directly to urgent care, which I explained to the representative. She said I needed to provide receipts to Wakefield and Associates proving I paid. I, like most people, don't hang onto receipts for 4 years, and I told her I would contact *** urgent care directly. I spoke with Laurie in the billing department with *** Urgent Care. She was unable to find any delinquent accounts in mine or my child's name. Furthermore, she stated that *** Urgent Care stopped using Wakefield and Associates for their collections needs in 2016, ONE YEAR BEFORE THE BILL WAS INCURRED. In addition to that, my credit report has no derogatory remarks. I bought my first home in 2019, and I believe if I had unpaid debt from two years prior, it would have come up during the financing process. I have a credit score of 814, and it didn't get that high by not paying bills. Laurie with *** Urgent Care stated that if Wakefield and Associates has any questions, they need to reach out directly to *** billing dept. [protected]. This is the second time Wakefield and Associates has fraudulently attempted to collect on a bill that I have already paid. The last time was in 2018. I was able to provide receipts to them at the time, because they called me only one year after the date of service instead of FOUR YEARS LATER. I didn't report them to the Complaintsboard.com at the time, because I figured it was an honest mistake, but now after reading about the over 200 lawsuits against this company, I am sure that their actions are completely predatory.

Wakefield has received multiple requests from a client to cancel and remove my case from collections
Wakefield has received multiple requests from a client to CANCEL and pull my case out of collections. To date, they have not documented nor recorded cancellation requests. They are ignoring them. I have kept a timeline and notes of at least a month's worth of calls to both Wakefield and the billing party and plan to sue Wakefield for damages if they don't adhere to the request to cancel this case and remove it from my credit score and send me a confirmation this has been expunged from my credit report and been cancelled. If Wakefield does not do so within 7 business days of this notification today, I will be suing for lost business hours spent trying to handle this case, including lost income due to not being able to get a new phone service contract for my business because of the mark on my excellent credit score, damage to my credit score, the cost of the bill, any future damage caused by it remaining on my credit report. Wakefield is ignoring the billing company's repeated request to cancel this collection. The billing company's agent, Zach, has escalated this repeatedly and Wakefield doesn't respond nor document the correspondence. Zach has stated this never should have gone to collections to begin with since there was misinformation on the billing documents which is why the bill didn't get paid by insurance then (a bill from 2017!). In fact, we never even received a bill at home due to these errors and certainly would have handled this 4 years ago! I have called Wakefield several times regarding this, and none of the requests to cancel this collection and expunge from my record has been recorded by them! I will be suing Wakefield, and their client, if not canceled within 7 business days. Wakefield is corrupt. They didn't document the repeated request by the client to CANCEL this collection. I DEMAND they do so NOW, and ALSO send me WRITTEN confirmation it is OFF my credit score and has been CANCELED IN FULL.

This has been an ongoing issue that has not been resolved since my first call back in January
This has been an ongoing issue that has not been resolved since my first call back in January. Being a full time student who was laid off, I called Wakefield to see if there were any alternatives or other solutions to getting this this debt ($1,223.26) reduced and was told by the representative (attempt #1) he would reach out to the Community Ambulance via email with a counter offer of 50% of the debt in order to have my account paid out and closed. I was told I would get a call back within about a week with information regarding to whether or not the offer was accepted. A couple weeks later after receiving no call, voicemail or contact, I called Wakefield to see what the current status was of my counter offer. The representative (attempt #2) told me they had not received a response yet from Community Ambulance and that she would follow up with them. I was then told again, I would be receiving a call within about a week with this information. Within about a week or two, I did receive a call from Wakefield, but only as an attempt to collect my existing debt of $1,200. I told the representative I had already spoken to two others in regards to this issue, which she then reviewed the notes on my account and apologized. She then advised me she was escalating my account to a manager (attempt #3) and that she would call me back the same day with some sort of conclusion. I did not receive a call back that day, but did however a couple weeks later again, as an attempt to collect my debt. I told the representative to look in the notes of my account, which he then advised me he would reach out to Community Ambulance and escalate this issue to a manager (attempt #4). Some time after, I received another call from Wakefield with no update on my counter offer once again, but an attempt to collect my debt. Out of frustration I told the representative to look at the notes on my account and he had concluded that I had to send in my request by letter. I asked him why this was the first time I was being told this after so many attempts by the previous representatives I had spoken to, and he replied he's not sure why no one told me but my request had also been DENIED. I was completely confused. First, no one ever told me the request had to be sent in by ME via mail; two, after speaking to so many representatives, no one told me my counter offer was rejected; three, this entire process had taken so long when a conclusion had "already been made." Not feeling entirely confident by his explanation, I called again by the end of March and explained everything that had happened to which I was told would be escalated to a manager AGAIN (attempt #5). She told me I should be getting a call back, but if I didn't to call back again. Because I had received no call or voicemail, I called community ambulance myself. I asked their representative if they had any update on the counter offers that were allegedly sent to them in regards to closing out my account, where the representative replied they had not received ANY. He even mentioned that it was impossible to email their accounting department and all inquiries were only accepted via fax. He also told me because my debt was sent to Wakefield, Community Ambulance was no longer able to make any adjustments or changes on my account as of Dec 2019 and that if any counter offer was sent, they wouldn't be able to accept it anyway because of this reason. Right after I got off this call, I called Wakefield, explained everything that had happened since February AGAIN and that I had just gotten off the phone with Community Ambulance. He spoke to a manager (attempt #6) and advised me that the counter offer would have to be dealt with by Wakefield and chances of it being accepted were slim, but that he would continue to follow up with me on my account and update me with any decisions or conclusion made. After weeks of not hearing anything back, I called Wakefield and explained everything AGAIN. I had made it very clear to the rep that all I wanted to know is if my counter offer had been accepted by Wakefield so that I could pay it that day to close out my account. He mentioned there was nothing on my account indicating it had been and that ALL counter offers were processed by the original company (Community Ambulance in this case). I had told him because I have been going through financial hardship since the end of last year and especially with the Covid outbreak at this time, although it would be difficult, I would be able to pay 50% of the debt that day if it could be accepted. I also emphasized how this is my first time I've had anything go to collections and that I was worried fees would accrue or the amount would increase because it had not been paid off yet. He told me he was not able to provide me with that type of information and did not know anything in regards to added fees. I asked him if there was a dead line or specific date this all had to be settled before any possible fees accrued or the debt amount increasing, again he said he did not know anything about these matters. He said a manager would reach out (attempt #7) to the company "INTEGRET CONNECT" to see if they would accept my counter offer. Confused, I said my debt was with COMMUNITY AMBULANCE and had no idea who integret connection was. He said he did know either and it might be the company that handles their financing. Defeated and frustrated, I asked if I could speak to a manager or someone with the knowledge to provide me answers of the questions I asked in regards to fees or deadlines. He replied his manager was not in at the moment and that he did not know who I could ask in regards to my questions. He said he would let my ACCOUNT MANAGER know I had multiple questions and concerns about my account and that he would reach out to me. When I asked for his name, he said he could only see the representative's initials and did not know his full name. I asked if representatives are allowed to leave voicemails because I had not received any from any of the previous reps I've spoken to, which he replied yes. He said to call back if I had not heard anything from my account manager. This has been an long and repetitive situation that seems to have no resolution in the near future. Now I've received a letter asking for the WHOLE amount due in full, with no acknowledgement of the "notes" and situation I've been trying to resolve since January and also stating "why have you ignored our previous communications."

This is a predatory company who contacted me about an unverified debt bought from a medical billing type company. Within a month they had access to "flag" my very polished credit score. AS SOON as I get this removed from my credit...I will be looking to see exactly how I can *** them for defamation.
