WebSleuths WebSleuths Review: A Once-Chill Forum Turned Cliquey and Strict

I been using WebSleuths for a long time, like since the Scott Peterson trial. They got forums where people talk about criminal cases. It used to be more chill, but now it's too strict, in my opinion.

I know it's their site and they can do what they want, but other reviews are right. There's a few "regulars" that can say whatever they want and if you don't agree with them, you might get banned.

Besides the cliquey stuff, they don't like anything from "new media." They only want "main stream media," which means they only talk about stuff after it's already over.

One thing that's really messed up is how they support people who act crazy. Like with Gabby Petito, they said everything was domestic violence. I don't know what's wrong with them, but they might need help. The Covid forum is another example. They only talk about how bad it is and if you say anything different, you get banned.

It's too bad because some people are nice there, but they might ban you for no reason.

WebSleuths Websleuths: A Terrible Site Run by Terrible People

Websleuths is, like, really, really bad. I mean, seriously, it's like the worst site ever. The people who run it are like a bunch of bullies who think they're better than everyone else. They control everything and if you don't agree with them, they'll kick you off the site faster than you can say "conspiracy theory."

The name of the site is totally misleading. You'd think you could actually do some investigating or sleuthing, but nope. You can only post stuff that the moderators approve of. And if they don't like what you're saying, they'll just delete it. It's like they're trying to control everything you do.

And don't even think about trying to leave the site. Once you sign up, you're stuck there forever. They won't let you delete your account, even if you beg them. It's like they're holding your personal information hostage or something.

Plus, the site is just covered in ads. It's like they're trying to make money off of every single thing you do. And they're always begging for money too. It's like, come on, give it a rest already.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Websleuths to anyone. It's just a terrible site run by terrible people.

WebSleuths Beware of WebSleuths Owner Tricia Griffith: Unethical Business Practices and Scare Tactics to Beg for Money

I recently joined WebSleuths, but I wish I had done my research on the owner, Tricia Griffith, before signing up. It turns out that she's not exactly the most trustworthy person. For one thing, she's added a video ad company to the site so that she can make money off of it. But when members started complaining about their data being eaten up by the ads, Tricia didn't seem to care. She just said that she was trying to fix the problem, but that it was difficult because she had to talk to people in another country. And when members tried to post apps to block the ads, Tricia just deleted them.

It wasn't until weeks later that Tricia finally admitted that she needed money to keep the site going. And the reason for all the annoying ads? That was just her way of trying to get people to join her podcast, which she apparently thinks will make her famous. But let me tell you, her podcast is boring and her voice is annoying. She's clearly just using the site to try to make a name for herself.

But that's not even the worst part. It seems that Tricia has a history of using scare tactics to get people to donate to her. She's always coming up with new schemes to beg for money, and I have to wonder if she's even reporting all the funds she's collecting to the IRS. And how much is she making off of the site anyway? It's got to be a lot of money.

Honestly, Tricia is just a dried up, bleached blonde scam artist who's trying to feed her own ego. She's abusing GoFundMe and engaging in unethical business practices, and she needs to be reported to the state commission. I know that there are a lot of older retired members on the site who don't have a lot of money to spare, and it's not fair that Tricia is taking advantage of them. So do yourself a favor and report her to the state of Utah.

WebSleuths WebSleuths: Overbearing Censorship and Ridiculous Rules - A Disappointing Experience

I just joined WebSleuths and I gotta say, I was not impressed. After only two days, I asked for my account to be deleted. Let me tell you why.

First of all, they censor everything. I mean, everything. It's hard to have a conversation when you can't even use someone's name in a case, not even the victim's. You have to use initials. It's like trying to solve a puzzle with half the pieces missing.

Secondly, the rules are ridiculous. I tried to post a witness statement that was on Facebook, but I couldn't post it word for word. I had to paraphrase it. I mean, come on. This is a crime site. We need all the information we can get. And don't even get me started on the fact that you can't discuss possible suspects or make any accusations against anyone in the case. What's the point of being a sleuth if you can't even sleuth?

And let me tell you, the moderators have no sense of humor. I made a joke about a town being addicted to holy water and they clipped my post and told me I was rude. Meanwhile, people are calling each other meth heads left and right. It's like they have no consistency.

I could go on and on about the ridiculous rules and the overbearing censorship, but the final straw for me was the name-calling. They deleted my post because I called someone a name. I mean, come on. Deleting my post would have been enough. But no, they had to delete my whole account.

So, if you're thinking about joining WebSleuths, I would think twice. The conversation gets recycled a lot because of the limitations on speech and the inability to actually sleuth. It's just not worth it.

WebSleuths WebSleuths: Outdated Software, Draconian Moderation, and Begging for Donations

I'm a member of WebSleuths, but I don't usually comment. I just read the topics that interest me. However, every time I do, I just shake my head and wonder why I bother checking in. If you try to get involved, you'll be disappointed.

For instance, tonight there's a video posted from a mainstream news source about the Gabby Petito case. John Walsh is being interviewed, and he calls the suspect a "dirt bag" and some other colorful names. But when a member quoted him, that member's comment got deleted, and their account got banned. How is it okay for a mainstream media personality to say something on the air, but it's not allowed to be said in the forum? This is just one of hundreds of ridiculous examples I've seen. The moderation on this site is probably the most draconian of any site on the internet.

The forum software is extremely outdated and a potential Java security risk if you visit. Make sure your browser is up to date with full anti-virus before visiting. Even then, there is a risk of being hacked. That site is a hacker's dream.

The owner has no money and begs daily, threatening that the site will go offline unless you make a donation. She begs like a child wanting her toys. It's really sad. I think she's probably a nice lady, but she needs to seriously invest in updated and safe forum software. She also needs to fire that SillyBilly person, as I see her acting like a little Hitler. It's pathetic.

They claim law enforcement checks their site, and they might because there are some good posters there. But it could be so much better if the annoyingly strict and contradictory moderation policies were removed. There's no need for a free-for-all, but when you allow MSM to call a suspect a dirt bag but not your members, that's just stupid. This is one of hundreds of examples of the idiots moderating the forum.

WebSleuths Beware of Websleuths: A Toxic Community of Bullies and Cliques

I joined Websleuths a while back for the discussions. I thought it was a well-run ship, with only verified media links allowed, so I felt it was a good place for accurate information. But boy oh boy, was I in for a shock. The first time I posted, several members attacked my post and were seriously rude to me. I posted a possibility in one missing person's case, and suddenly several of them were posting nonsense about taxis and how they didn't think my idea was likely. They ganged up on me like a pack of schoolyard bullies. They think they are the only ones whose thoughts on the matter count. Rude personal remarks were frequently made by a few particular members. This behavior is against the mighty TOS, as moderators remind people frequently. However, these people were allowed to carry on, and their posts were not deleted.

I'm not the only one to be treated in this manner. I've heard there is quite a nasty clique on there who are exempt from the rules as they donate or are friends with the owner/moderators and are therefore exempt from the TOS. Most of the moderators must not have ever had any site moderation experience. Sillybilly (what an appropriate name) is the worst of them all. I think he is on a serious power trip and likes to throw his weight around. Moderators do not like being called out on their bad behavior, people have been given bans just for challenging them.

Right now, the owner is begging members to give her money to give to the moderators, instead of giving them a Christmas bonus herself. Her usual excuse when she's begging for money is that Websleuths is about to collapse because she can't pay the bills. Her vulgarity is unbelievable; she has posted her begging in the middle of missing and murdered people threads with no thought for how their families might feel.

Basically, if you like being bullied, having a pack of mean girls gang up on you in a thread, and being berated for standing up for yourself when you are abused, then by all means join. Otherwise, avoid Websleuths like the plague. This review is based on my experience as a member, and all IMO JMO and MOO.

WebSleuths WebSleuths Review: Helpful for Case Updates, but Beware of Bullies and Hateful Members

I've been a member of WebSleuths for a few years now, and while it's a great way to stay up-to-date on cases you see in the news, there are some members who just want to bring others down. There are some threads on the website where people are respectful and caring towards victims, and they want to help solve the case and bring justice to those who have been wronged. Some members have backgrounds that allow them to contribute knowledge and skills to the forums, which is really helpful. However, there are other members who don't add anything productive or intelligent to the conversation, and they just want to be condescending towards other members.

As another reviewer mentioned, some of the threads are about taking sides, and some members are really hateful towards others who have a different point of view. I've tried to welcome new members and defend them without offending anyone, but I've been cut down as well. Some people on the forums are quick to accuse someone in a case (even family members of a victim) of a crime, while others defend a suspect with overwhelming evidence against them. They even vilify the victim, law enforcement, and the legal system, and they persist in their opinion even after the suspect has been found guilty in a court of law. Although these members are usually in the minority, they lash out at everyone else discussing the case.

The forums are moderated, but the moderators are inconsistent in dealing with bullies. Sometimes they are hateful themselves and show favoritism. Some threads become very long not because of a lot of movement or analysis in the case, but because some people don't read the thread before posting, even if it's just a page or two back. Others post comment after comment without saying anything productive. It seems like a contest to see who can end up with the most posts. I think some members believe they will get to become a moderator and influence the direction of the website if they reach a certain number of posts.

I wouldn't recommend the website to people who are sensitive, as they are the ones most likely to care about crime victims. If you don't already suffer from depression, you probably will after joining WebSleuths. Not only will you be reading about terrible crimes people commit, but you'll also be treated poorly by other members.

WebSleuths Websleuths: A Good Idea with Flaws - A Review

This website, Websleuths, has a really good idea behind it, but it's not always executed very well. They try to keep discussions based on facts, but they say that mainstream media is the only reliable source for verifying facts. However, most of what is promoted by mainstream media today is not very credible due to bad reporting, incorrect "facts", and inconsistency. They also say that social media can't be used to verify factual information, but they often point readers in the direction of interesting tidbits seen on sites like Facebook. Some of the threads have nothing to do with helping the victim, but instead are just post after post telling the reader to go get info from Facebook. If you read a thread about a missing child, you'll be subjected to a never-ending chorus of complaints about CPS. They also have over 100 threads for Gabriel Petito in which it's a free-for-all bashing the boyfriend's family and sharing their personal details.

However, the site does offer the opportunity for people to bring together skills from all different walks of life, and information is shared that can lead to real solutions in some of these cases. Many unidentified individuals have gotten their names and dignity returned to them, and clues have helped law enforcement make progress in solving murders or finding missing persons. The moderators do help to keep the crazies at bay, at least those that are obviously wearing tinfoil hats. The site does offer a large number of resources for families of those who are missing, and can be a really good source of support.

Overall, there's a lot of good on this site, but you have to wade through an endless amount of hooey to get there.

WebSleuths Toxic Moderators and Poor Functionality: A Review of a Crime-solving Website

Oh boy, where do I even begin with this website? Let me tell you, it's a real mess. The security is non-existent, and your private information is always at risk. And don't even get me started on the functionality - it's a disaster. Error messages left and right, it's like they didn't even try to make it work properly. And yet, they're always asking for donations and support. You'd think they'd invest some of that money into making the site better, but nope.

But that's not even the worst part. The moderators are like dictators, ruling with an iron fist. They're only concerned with making money from the site, not actually helping to solve crimes. They'll change the rules on a whim, and they don't even follow their own rules half the time. They'll delete entire posts instead of just editing out the offending parts, and they'll lie about the reasons for deletion. It's a toxic environment, and the mods are the worst part of it.

The only good thing about the site is the members, who are truly amazing people. But the mods? They should be ashamed of themselves. It's clear that they're only in it for the money, and they'll do anything to keep the site monetized. It's a real shame, because the site could be so much better if they just cared about the victims instead of their own wallets.

WebSleuths Websleuth's Forum Review: Anonymity, Bias, and the Importance of Examining All Sides of a Case

The sixth and seventh amendments of the constitution are based on Benjamin Franklin's quote, "Better to set 100 guilty men free, then to convict one innocent man." I completely agree with this quote because being wrongly convicted and sent to prison for the rest of your life or majority of your life is unimaginable. That's why I joined Websleuth's forum, but I quickly realized that they only allow you to take one side, which is whatever side the majority of Websleuther's are taking. If you argue for the defense, they will see it as you attacking the victims, which is not true. It's important to consider all sides of the story and debate it civilly to ensure that the person being charged is actually guilty. That's what our entire justice system is based upon.

Unfortunately, as a society, we've made it entirely acceptable to base guilt on someone's behavior, which is wrong. Guilt should be based on evidence, tangible evidence that cannot be refuted. Even technology can be wrong, so it's important to analyze and consider all factors, not just behavior. If the prosecution based their evidence on behavior and had very little physical evidence, they would lose all my respect immediately.

If you join Websleuth's forum, don't make the mistake of thinking that you can freely say what you think. If you don't think like the majority, you will be verbally attacked and booted. They even demand to know your real name and for you to prove it to them before you join, which is not good. The whole point of forums is anonymity. I'm not going to give my real anything to a website ran by an owner I don't even know.

I gave Websleuth's forum 2 stars instead of 1 because they are a good source for information about a case, and some of them come up with brilliant theories of what may have happened to victims and missing people. However, they need to work just as hard to make sure the one being accused is truly guilty. It seems like they just run with the suspect named in a case without even questioning it, which is terribly wrong. They need to examine and analyze if the suspect named in a case is truly guilty. If I was a jury member, I need to be certain without a shadow of a doubt to convict someone of a crime and send them to prison. I want justice for a victim, but I want it done in the correct way, and there is no greater justice than to make sure that the right person is convicted of the crime.

Overall, my opinion of this website is very poor. They are very controlling, and it's driving them insane that they cannot control my post about them. Ahahahahaha.

WebSleuths WebSleuths Review: Toxic Community Promotes Victim Blaming and Exploitation of Tragedies for Profit

When I first joined WebSleuths, I was excited to be a part of a community that discussed true crime cases. I thought it would be a great way to share my thoughts and opinions on cases that I was interested in. However, I was quickly disappointed when I realized that this site promotes victim blaming. It was shocking to see what some of the users were allowed to say. They were labeled as "well-known" users, but in reality, they were just bullies who enjoyed attacking others.

The owner of the site, Trisha, seems to have ulterior motives. She is constantly asking for money and hounding users to sign up for her Patreon. I would advise against giving her any money, as she is just exploiting the victims of these crimes. It's scary to think that someone would use murdered individuals to make a profit.

The site also advertises a podcast, which is a complete joke. I wouldn't recommend spending your money on it. It's just another way for Trisha to make money off of the tragedies of others.

Overall, I would not recommend WebSleuths. It's a toxic community that promotes victim blaming and is run by someone who is only interested in making money. If you're looking for a true crime community, there are much better options out there.

WebSleuths WebSleuths: A Toxic Community of Armchair Detectives

So, I was checking out this website called WebSleuths (websleuths.com) and I gotta say, some of the folks on there can be pretty darn rude. They act like they know everything and don't wanna hear any other opinions or ideas. They also like to spread rumors and gossip without any real proof and then get all mad when someone tries to call them out on it. I remember I tried to correct one of their false rumors with actual evidence and they just attacked me for it. It was pretty ridiculous.

Another thing that bugs me about this site is how they obsess over the subject's social media accounts. Like, seriously, they'll stalk these people's profiles and try to make connections that aren't even there. And sometimes they don't even bother to research all the facts before jumping to conclusions. It's like they just wanna hear themselves talk.

But what really got me was when I tried to share some info about a missing person case in my area. I was just trying to give some context about the site conditions and stuff, but these people who don't even live here started getting all rude and dismissive. Like, how can you argue with someone who actually lives in the area and knows what they're talking about? It's just crazy.

And to top it all off, the mods on this site like to censor important information. Like, seriously, they'll remove stuff that could actually be helpful in solving a case or finding more clues. It's like they don't even care about the truth, they just wanna control the narrative.

Honestly, I don't think I'm gonna bother posting on WebSleuths anymore. It's just not worth the hassle. I'll stick to other sites that actually value open discussion and don't censor important info.

WebSleuths WebSleuths Review: A Cult-Like Forum with Constant Donation Requests

The first thing you notice when you visit WebSleuths (websleuths.com) is the sheer number of forums available. It can be overwhelming, to say the least. But that's not the only issue I have with this site. If you happen to post something that goes against the site's beliefs, such as questioning someone's guilt or innocence, you can expect to be bullied, have your posts deleted, and be ostracized. It's like being part of a cult, with all the cult-like behavior that comes with it.

What's worse is that they constantly ask for donations to keep the site running. The owner of the site even has a YouTube channel where she solicits money from members under the guise of needing to pay for server bills or because ad revenue has decreased due to COVID-19. While it's true that they do make money from ads, it seems like they're always asking for more. It's like a never-ending telethon.

There are plenty of other sites out there that are much more professionally organized and run. I wouldn't mind paying for a site that provides valuable information and fosters a sense of community, but WebSleuths just feels like a money-grabbing cult. If you're looking for a true crime forum, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

WebSleuths Warning: Poor Data Security and Unresponsive Staff on This Website

This website ain't safe, and you can't even delete your account or posts once you've made them. It's a real mess when it comes to data security. If you try to get your account deleted by messaging the staff, they might not even respond or just ban your account without deleting your personal info. If you've ever had an account on WS, don't use that password on any other accounts or link it to anything else. If you still have access to your account, make sure you create a strong password and get rid of any personal info before it's too late.

And that's not even the worst part. The staff can be real jerks and there are other problems with the site that other people have already talked about. But from a technical standpoint, this site is a disaster and it's not safe to trust your info with them. Even if the staff were good at their jobs, the site is outdated and insecure. It's really worrying.

WebSleuths Review: WebSleuths Website - Useful Resource with Strict Moderation

The WebSleuths website is a place where people can discuss current cases and try to solve them. However, the moderation on the site can be quite strict. They only allow discussion on things that have already been published in the mainstream media. This means that any links to social media or other sources of information will mostly be banned. This can make it difficult for people who are trying to sleuth and gather new insights.

The website is full of circular chatter and is not very helpful for serious sleuthing. The only smart conversations happen between members in private chat. The public forum is not very useful because any posts that are not in line with the accepted view on a case will be swiftly deleted. The moderators tend to invoke their Terms of Service against anyone who adopts anything other than the accepted view. This can be frustrating for people who have a different perspective on a case.

The forum posts tend to be emotional and focused on feelings rather than on evidence and new insights. There is a lot of virtue signalling for "likes" and this can be annoying for people who are trying to have a serious discussion. The moderators tend to be quite strict and will ban anyone who does not follow the rules.

Overall, the WebSleuths website can be a useful resource for people who are interested in solving crimes. However, the moderation can be quite strict and this can make it difficult for people who are trying to gather new insights. The forum posts tend to be emotional and not very helpful for serious sleuthing. If you are interested in using the website, be prepared to follow the rules and be patient with the moderators.

WebSleuths Inconsistent Moderation and Bullish Tactics on WebSleuths: A Frustrating Experience

I've been a member of WebSleuths for a few months now, ever since a local case made national news. There are some really great posters on the site, but unfortunately the moderation policies are not consistently applied. It seems like some moderators have a bit of a power trip and can be pretty inconsistent from thread to thread. I think a discussion forum should have high standards of moderation that are evenly applied, but that's not always the case here.

Each forum has its own moderators, but sometimes the site owner will jump in and take over with her bullish tactics. It's like she has a god complex and undermines the actual moderators of that thread or category. If you want to give your opinion, forget about it. The mods will put you in time out or even ban you pretty quickly. It's really frustrating because this is supposed to be a place where sleuthing is encouraged, but it doesn't feel like that's the case.

Instead, it's just a collection of news media posts that don't really do anything to further the cause of finding criminals. I've tried to be a good contributor and make meaningful contributions, but I've found myself dumbfounded by the idiotic policies of this site. I don't think it's worth your time, to be honest. There are better places to go if you want to engage in meaningful discussions and actually make a difference.

WebSleuths WebSleuths Review: Disappointing Lack of Legal Standards and Civil Discourse

I was really excited to join WebSleuths, thinking that it would be a great place to learn about law and investigations. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with what I found. Most of the people on the site don't seem to care about following any kind of legal standards, and they're happy to mix half-truths with outright lies. It's like a modern-day witch hunt, where people are assumed to be guilty before they even have a chance to defend themselves.

One of the things that really bothers me about WebSleuths is how little faith people seem to have in law enforcement. They're always trying to fit square pegs into round holes, and they don't seem to understand why things don't always add up. And then there are the pet rocks - these are the people who can say whatever they want about victims and accused alike, and then act like they're doing everyone a favor by thanking the police and other officials. It's really frustrating to see grown adults attacking each other like this, especially when they're putting words in each other's mouths.

Overall, I'm not impressed with the moderators on WebSleuths. They don't seem to be doing much to keep things civil, and they're not doing a great job of enforcing the rules. I'd much rather spend my time with people who actually know what they're talking about when it comes to law enforcement. After all, sticking to the rules of law is the only way to ensure justice for victims. It's not about bashing their families or making wild accusations - it's about following the facts and letting the evidence speak for itself.

All in all, I wouldn't recommend WebSleuths to anyone who's looking for a friendly, supportive community. It's just not a very welcoming place, and it's definitely not victim-friendly. If you're interested in learning about law and investigations, there are plenty of other resources out there that are much more helpful and informative.

WebSleuths WebSleuths: A Disappointing Platform for Discussion and Debate

This website, WebSleuths, claims to be a place where people can discuss cases and evidence without being harassed or cursed at. However, it seems like the opposite is true. If you're too smart or don't dumb down your language, you might get removed from the site for no reason. There are very few rules that are actually applied to the banning or "time-outs" of users, and it feels like the owner of the site wants to keep the intelligence level low. Maybe they think that people with lower IQs are more loyal followers.

I've talked to people who are afraid of saying the wrong thing, even if they're being respectful and well-informed. It's not a good feeling to be afraid of expressing your thoughts on a blog. The point of a discussion forum is to have a respectful exchange of ideas, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

It's understandable if people are banned for being rude or trolling, but even nice people get banned from WebSleuths. It's almost like an Orwellian nightmare where you can never really leave. Unlike Reddit, where you can erase comments and your identity, WebSleuths wants to keep your information even if you're no longer active on the site. It makes you wonder what their actual agenda is.

Overall, I would not recommend this site. It's not a welcoming environment for intelligent discussion, and it's not worth the risk of being banned for no reason.

WebSleuths WebSleuths Review: Terrible Moderators, Begging for Money, and Unfair Treatment

Let me tell you about my experience with WebSleuths. I have to say, I was not impressed. I mean, just look at all the negative reviews on here! It's clear that I'm not the only one who thinks this site is terrible.

The moderators are just awful. They're all on a power trip, especially Silly Billy. But really, they're all the same. They spend all their time deleting posts, closing threads, and banning people left and right. And for what? Just for stating their opinion? Give me a break! They need to get a real job.

And don't even get me started on Tricia. She's always begging for money, pretending like she's massively in debt just to keep this site afloat. But we all know that's a load of crap. The advertising alone on this site makes a ton of money, not to mention the live podcasts and YouTube videos. She just wants our money so she can buy herself a new purse or some more food. What a joke!

And the favoritism is just ridiculous. They treat you like you're in elementary school. If you say something they don't like, you'll get put on a time out or even permanently banned. It's just not fair.

I don't know how they get away with it. But one thing's for sure - I won't be using WebSleuths again. Save yourself the trouble and find a better site.

WebSleuths WebSleuths Review: Strict Moderators, Constant Begging for Donations, and Favoritism

If you're looking for a place to discuss true crime cases, then WebSleuths might be the site for you. However, be warned that the moderators and favorite posters can be quite strict and intolerant of differing opinions. You might find yourself timed out or even banned if you don't toe the line.

One of the biggest issues with WebSleuths is the constant begging for donations by the owner, Tricia Griffith. It seems like every other post is asking for money to keep the site running. And if you do donate, don't be surprised if your private messages are read by the mods.

The rules on WebSleuths can be quite ridiculous and make it difficult to actually engage in sleuthing. It's ironic that the site is called WebSleuths, yet the rules don't allow for much sleuthing at all. And even if you do follow the rules, they can change depending on the thread or the poster.

There are also favorite posters who seem to get away with posting whatever they want, while others get banned for simply expressing an opinion. It's not a fair or welcoming environment for everyone.

To make matters worse, Tricia and her pet, Levi, are now asking for members to leave 5-star reviews and donate money to a podcast that hasn't even produced an episode yet. It's hard not to find this request laughable.

Overall, WebSleuths could be a great site if it were run by someone with a brain and good morals. Unfortunately, Tricia's constant begging for money and the strict rules and favoritism make it a less than ideal place to discuss true crime cases.
