Worth the money if you actually take the time to build your online presence
There are SO many sites out there that dream about being 1/10th of what Wedding Wire is. WW is reliable, thorough, valuable (definitely worth what you pay for), personable, and intentional. Yes, it can be a hefty fee if your company is not in a position to actually gain business, but once you're in that position it's much easier and a much more valuable investment. For example, I paid for 6 months of a featured/spotlighted position and it was a waste of money. But it was a waste of money because I didn't have any reviews and had not taken the time to build my online presence with this particular site. Now that I've focused my attention to building through Wedding Wire I have decided to pay for a spotlight again and was hired within the first week. This isn't a snap your fingers and you're in business type of thing... this is an investment, not just financially, but also with your time. But the fact is, you have a whole network of support, you can contact them at any time and have your own personal rep, they will walk you through the analytics, guide you through how to build a more effective profile, etc etc. Some other sites (I'll avoid names) allow anybody to create fake profiles, leave you fake reviews, etc. Wedding Wire has protections in place for professionals, they know the ins and outs of the business, and they're willing to practically hold your hand through the process. They've been a part of helping me build my company and brand, they've been so personal that I feel as though I know them, and they've been, BY FAR< the most intentional, thorough, supportive site my company has done business on. Thanks WW, you gals are truly AMAZING.
What a great experaince
I was looking for a website to create my wedding invite, I found WeddingWire, at first I was not sure if I wanted to use them, but I created a page anyway. Once I uploaded my information, I needed help, I wanted someone to proof it. I emailed CS and Alysse answered me right away, I was shocked, normally it takes 24 to 48 hours. I had so many questions and I wanted to create the best website ever, Alysse not only helped me create the website she showed me how to upload my pictures and she even uploaded my video for me. I was having such a hard time and Alysse without hesitation said " give me the name of your video and I will upload it for you. She made sure it was the correct song and version that I wanted. Once that was done I have other questions about the site and reports that I needed to run to make sure my guests were accounted for. She was very helpful, never had an attitude because of the silly questions I was asking, she was very pleasant. If it had not been for Alysee's help, I would have not created my wedding website on WeddingWire. After the site was up and running she did the nicest thing... she emailed and asked " how's things going and your website looks great" What a wonderful thing to do for someone you have never met, who does that! Not to many people in this world. That's what I liked about Alysee, I'm very pleased and I encourage anyone that is thinking about using a wedding website please use WeddingWire and ask for Alysee's help, she will go out of her way to help you create a wonderful website.
To Weddingwire, Thank you and it would be very nice if you send Alysee if she has time to the Washington area February 13,2016 to attend my wedding as my very, very special guest. :) Thank you Alysee you are the best! Have a Marry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Your Washington Friend! ZD

Wedding Wire was the key to my success in the wedding industry!
Wow, I honestly can't say enough about Wedding Wire.
To be short, of the two promotion sites I used this year, 90% of my bookings were through Wedding Wire.
From the very begenning of my inquiry about using Wedding Wire as a way to advertise my Wedding Photography business I was impressed with the personal attention and care from the staff. I had a Wedding Wire rep contact me directly and have a live conversation about my business and goals for the year, and then was given an appointment to speak with a specialist who took me through all the tools of the site and walked me through how I could utalize them based on my specific needs as a wedding vendor.
The site itself is just set up so well too! It was so easy to navigate and generate leads, it has a function for you to set reminders of each step in the booking process with your clients, and it integrates seamlessly with your e-mail, making responding to a client fast and simple.
It even has a way to have your contract and other shared documents at hand through the site so you can share attachments within the conversation you have with your clients via Wedding Wire.
Another thing I love about Weddibg Wire was the review generator. In this day and age, having several high quality reviews of your business is a must for booking online, and Wedding Wire has this amazing tool that makes it easy to track when your clients view their invitation to leave you a review, as well as an option to automatically remind them to leave you a review if they forget and too much time goes by.
In addition to this, the site has numerous training tools and articles to help you grow your business.
Advertising through Wedding Wire was by far the most siccessful action I took to grow my business from hobby to professional and I will absolutely be continuing to use Weddibg Wire as my primary promotion tool in the future!

Kim the Proactive Account Manager
I've been a member of the WeddingWire network for several years now. As a wedding professional, it was either them, or a rival site for me... I opted for WeddingWire due to the size of their coverage to my target audience. By nature, I'm quite a cynical 'I'll believe it when I see it' individual, so I take any 'online' service with a pinch of salt... almost a 'necessary evil' type of attitude generally... so it was with a sense of absolute elation, that I called my WeddingWire Success Manager, Kim Knodt, yesterday, to thank her PROFOUNDLY, on behalf of my wife and myself!
Kim initially emailed me, asking for a free 30 minutes or so, to speak on the phone, and see if there way any way that she could help me... to say I was indifferent is putting it mildly... I'd been quite negative about our success rate, our contact-bookings ratio was poor, and I wondered if WW was the best route for my marketing funds.
Kim persisted, and, even when she got me to commit to a time slot, I admit that I prioritized that call waaaaay down my 'to do for today' list.
We talked, I griped about our results thus far on WW, she asked if she could make an observation... she said that, in her eyes, there was a 'gap' in my range of packages. That I seemed to be offering only 'budget', or 'high-end'... where was the 'middle-ground'? Couples might find an 'in-between' ideal, if they didn't fit the 2 packages above?
I listened, went away and created that middle package... and it has now become THE main source of revenue for my wedding work! Clients love that it's not too expensive, not too budget, gives US a good session, without taking all day to deliver... I can't believe that I didn't see what was a glaring problem, right before my eyes!
I'm sure that Kim and her colleagues get plenty of 'gripers', and rarely get people taking the time to call and thank them, but she did an awesome job!
My business gets more bookings, I earn more, which in turn, allows me to invest more in equipment and peopleall because of one tenacious and observant WeddingWire Professional!
THANK YOU and well done Kim!
WeddingWire was the most valuable resource to me planning
WeddingWire was the most valuable resource to me planning my wedding. My husband and I are both in the Marine Corps. We are both natives of Southern California (wedding location), but currently stationed in North Carolina. The planning for our wedding was conducted almost entirely remotely, in only 4 months (our moms were the ones who did in person meetings checking out the reception venue and cake vendors). The trustworthy reviews and planning tools of WeddingWire, as well as its interface, are significantly better than other wedding planning websites out there. Personally, I was annoyed by how TheKnot required so much personal information simply to open an account, and then default shares that information widely. WeddingWire provided the tools I needed to successfully plan my wedding without excess, annoying things like unwanted mailed advertisements or harassing emails. WeddingWire's vendor search features made it easy for me to find vendors that I successfully booked even just 3-4 weeks before our wedding including cake, florist, and DJ. WW's seating chart, guest list, personal website, and online RSVP features made planning all of those things more streamlined, kept me organized, and saved me time. The wedding and reception went very smoothly and I was surprised to hear comments from friends and family saying it was "the best wedding they'd ever been to." It was also interesting to realize the difference that technology has made in the last few years - my oldest siblings got married in 2001. Long distance wedding planning tools like WeddingWire weren't around back then and I don't think I would have found reliable, top-quality, affordable vendors without the reviews and resources that WeddingWire provided.
If you are a bride planning your own wedding, your planning efforts are maximized with WeddingWire. You don't have to be planning your wedding from 6 years old to have the day of your dreams. WeddingWire made it possible for me to have a dream wedding with only 4 months of planning remotely from the opposite coast from the event. I absolutely recommend this website to future brides and friends.
From a Photographer
I was very skeptical about signing up for Wedding Wire (I signed up in May 2016 in the DC area). I was promised a no-penalty cancellation after 6 months but was worried about signing up for a year and "hoping for the best".
It's now July 2016 and everything has been great. More than great! The response has been exceptional. I'm average in price ($1,800 wedding day with digitals) and have eight 5-star reviews. So far, I get 3 to 4 inquiries a week and 2 to 3 bookings a month from Wedding Wire. These are all at full price, not budget weddings that want to squeeze every free hour they can out of me.
I could not be happier with the dashboard, client site, functionality of bookings and ease of getting reviews from couples. I upload a questionnaire, contract and invoice info and the client site takes care of the rest. I use these functions daily and am relieved to have the consistency that I wasn't getting by using PDFs and emails and word documents.
I've seen a huge increase in quality of the leads from Wedding Wire and at a much higher price point than I was getting from "deal" websites where clients just wanted everything on the cheap. Suddenly, I was getting emails from couples who loved my work and wanted to know if I was available on their day! It's a lot easier to make a living when you only need 24-30 clients a year and they're in love with what you do. With Craigslist or Thumbtack, it was a lot of clients wanting 5 hour weddings for as cheap as possible and I wasn't sure if they loved my work or my price more.
My Wedding Wire storefront is also helping my overall business appearance for the people that find me through word of mouth and on Google. It's nice to have reviews in one place and it looks a lot nicer than Google Reviews or Facebook page stars. Do I sound like an advertisement for WW.? Haha, I'm just incredibly relieved that I made a smart investment by signing up because I was really worried it was going to be a waste of $1,000+.
What I'm saying is, I'm a super happy customer :) I had a lot of reservations and wasted almost a year making the decision to pay for a listing on WW based on my concerns and "what if"s but I am SO glad I made the leap. I've already got 2 weddings a month for the entire of next year and this was DEFINITELY unexpected and immediate growth.
Beware of WeddingWire: A Scam for Brides and Vendors Alike
This website is just ridiculous, and it's set up completely in favor of vendors. I just got a notice that one of my reviews was being disputed. I couldn't understand why (it was a positive review!), and then I realized ALL of this vendor's reviews were being disputed. Before my review can be reinstated, Weddingwire is requesting a copy of my contract and/or receipt. This seems reasonable to weed out fake reviews, except that my wedding was FIVE YEARS AGO. Now seriously, who has time for this nonsense? I'm not going to track down documentation that I don't have anymore (seriously, you'd have to be a hoarder or have OCD to keep track of that stuff for that length of time) just to keep up a review on this website. I'm now irritated that I even wasted my time with them, and I'm only wasting it further with this review to warn future brides: stay clear of Weddingwire if you're in search of honest reviews. Any vendor could open a dispute for whatever reason, and most people aren't going to jump through these insane hoops to be heard, especially if a significant length of time has elapsed. I guarantee bad vendors will take advantage of this policy. Brides will just go to Yelp or some other review service, with less crazy written into their policies.
So here's an update: their policies are even crazier than the aforementioned. I emailed WeddingWire to ask what the deal was, and they responded that sometimes a vendor will dispute all reviews due to change in ownership. This didn't make any sense to me. After all, even if the owner changed, why would they dispute positive reviews? As it happened, my husband had to drop by the vendor in question to have a piece of my jewelry repaired this week, and asked them about their reviews on WeddingWire. The manager's account was extremely interesting. Apparently they used to purchase advertising on WeddingWire. When they started scaling back on advertising, they noticed reviews starting to be deleted. They asked WeddingWire about it, and the latter assured them that it was not their policy to remove reviews as a function of advertising buy-in. The vendor continued to scale back and eventually stopped purchasing advertising. Now ALL of their reviews are "in dispute." They haven't disputed anything--WeddingWire is using the deletion of reviews as an incentive/threat to maintain advertising revenue.
All that to say, it boils down to this for brides (and vendors):
1. Brides cannot trust WeddingWire because shady vendors will just wait to dispute negative reviews after sufficient time has elapsed.
2. Brides must consider that vendors with the most feedback are most likely the ones paying WeddingWire for sufficient advertising. Technically, a good vendor should be able to get by on word-of-mouth and shouldn't need to rely on a second-rate site like this to get hits.
3. Vendors must take into account advertising on WeddingWire and whether it's worth it to them to keep paying to keep their reviews onsite.
What a scam! WeddingWire management should be ashamed of themselves. (But let's face it... I bet they aren't.)
Disappointing Experience with WeddingWire: Poor Customer Service and Invalid Leads
WeddingWire is a platform that I used last year for my wedding planning. I was initially drawn to the concept behind the platform and how they seemed to run their business. I also appreciated that they promised to filter out a lot of junk. However, I was disappointed when the service did not bring in as many clients as I had hoped for. In fact, I only received one client from the service.
When I realized that the service was not working for me, I reached out to their customer service team to voice my concerns. They provided me with some tips to try to convert the leads to paying clients, but unfortunately, the tips did not work. I reached out to them again with my concerns, but I received the same response. I then asked them to stop charging me for the service, but they refused. As I was too busy to deal with this further, I left it at that.
Later on, I received an email from WeddingWire asking if I would like to renew my contract. However, I was in the middle of all my Christmas orders at the time, so I simply responded with a polite decline. To my surprise, I received another email from them, asking why I no longer wanted to continue with their service. They claimed that they had received personal messages from three brides who used their platform to find me. However, two of the brides did not use their service to find me, and I had already known them prior to signing up for WeddingWire. I was unimpressed with their customer service and how they had handled my interactions with them. I let them know that their service wasn't worth it for me and that of the three brides that they think I got from them, two were not the case. Ultimately, it cost me more for the service than what I got out of it and wasted hours of time chasing leads that went nowhere.
I was going to respond once again to their email, but I decided not to when I received a lead from them. I searched the email address and phone number in Google and found out that the email went nowhere and the phone number was for an escort service in my city. I let them know of the email I had just received, and they promised valid leads, but many of the leads weren't valid. I was disappointed with their service and their lack of customer service. I felt that they cared more about the money than their customers.
I will not recommend this company to anyone. While their service may work for some, their customer service is appalling. If you have any intentions of paying them, be aware of their poor customer service. I am not the first person they have treated disrespectfully for simply not wanting to renew their membership.
WeddingWire Review: Negative Forums and Censorship
If you're in the market for wedding advice, I'd recommend steering clear of WeddingWire. As a bride-to-be, I wish I had known this before I got engaged in January. If I could go back in time, I would have chosen The Knot or Wedding Bee instead. Unfortunately, my wedding website is linked to WeddingWire, so I can't deactivate my account just yet - even though my wedding is only 10 days away!
The vendor searches and reviews on WeddingWire are great, but the forums are a different story. The atmosphere is overwhelmingly negative, and some users and vendors are downright rude and catty. If you try to defend yourself against their negativity, they'll block your post and you won't be able to do anything about it. According to WeddingWire's Community Guidelines, if three people flag your post, it's automatically removed without any warning or notification. Supposedly, a moderator reviews the post to determine if the flag was inappropriate. If it was, the post is permanently removed. If it wasn't, the post is supposed to be restored. However, I've never seen a post reinstated after being removed. The bullies have figured this out, so if they don't like what you say, they'll flag your post and get it removed.
This happened to me when I posted about my faux wedding cake. My thread was flooded with rude comments, and when I tried to defend myself, my post was flagged and removed. I contacted WeddingWire, but all I got was a canned response saying that my post was offensive and that I engaged in personal attacks. This couldn't have been further from the truth. The remaining posts were so rude and catty, and the bullies won.
Unfortunately, if your post is removed, you have nothing to back up your side of the story. I've apparently gotten on the bad side of one of the notoriously rude vendors who posts nothing but snarky and rude comments in the forums. She has a devoted following, so if you say anything remotely against her, her fan club will troll you and flag your posts. Since your post is gone, you have nothing to support your claim that you're being censored. But this time, I have screenshots to prove it. My post in response to Richard's rude post was removed, even though it wasn't a violation of WeddingWire's profanity policy.
In conclusion, I'd advise you to stay far away from WeddingWire.
WeddingWire Review: Rollercoaster Experience with Unfair Practices & Fake Leads
I've been using WeddingWire for advertising my wedding business for quite some time now, and I must say that my experience with them has been a rollercoaster ride. Initially, I was quite impressed with their services and felt like they were my partners in the business. My representative was amazing, and the leads I received from them were top-notch. Even the CEO would reach out to us Wedding Pros and ask for our feedback and input as decisions were being made. However, things took a turn for the worse a little over two years ago.
It felt like there was a major push away from advertising and towards providing vendors with tools they didn't ask for or need. This shift happened just after WeddingWire received 25 million capital from Spectrum Equity, and Spectrum equity personnel joined the WeddingWire team in managing positions. The first major change that affected our business was when WeddingWire changed their listing format to a "Lazy Load" format that put many more vendors on a page and reduced the amount of information listed about each vendor. We saw the number of clicks from WW go up, but the number of leads went down dramatically. Through this format change, they were able to double the number of Spotlight and featured listings. WeddingWire gained while their advertisers lost.
I quit my membership after this change, but I renewed again after WeddingWire employees talked to me about a change in culture that was going to make vendors feel like partners again. One of the things that they instituted at that time was a "ask the pro" live chat on their brides forum. I participated in this, and it was very good. However, they discontinued that practice. About this time, I started receiving fake leads from WeddingWire. I would call the number and respond to the emails to find that the leads were completely fake. In the last year, I would say that less than 30% of the leads from WeddingWire were actual couples looking to book services.
Earlier this year, WeddingWire introduced "Quick Leads." It is a program where they change the phone number that appears on your store front. Basically, they want all vendor calls routed through WW for tracking purposes. They automatically opted all vendors into this service and required that vendors opt-out if they did not want their phone number changed. The problem is that we were opted back in without notification. Some vendors have been opted back in 3 or 4 times.
They also changed the review policy so a bride can review a vendor before they perform the actual service or before they deliver the product on the wedding day. For most vendors, the wedding day is where we do the majority of our work, and the client can get an accurate example of our work to review us on.
Then they recently started the WeddingWire Rewards program where a bride can win 5,000 towards their wedding for performing certain tasks on the WeddingWire website. One task was to review vendors. The brides participating in the contest have not had their weddings yet, so they were giving vendors premature reviews just to be entered in the contest. That is not fair for the vendors or the potential brides reading the review. Another task is to make vendor contacts through WeddingWire. This led to brides making contact with me just to be entered into a contest. Again, this is totally unfair to vendors.
As vendors, we have submitted emails and calls to reps asking hard questions about these practices. My rep kept saying that he could not answer and that decisions were being made above him. I should have stayed away two years ago. This company does not view vendors as partners. Most of their efforts are geared towards getting brides to contact and review to inflate their numbers. WeddingWire reviews no longer have integrity. Brides and vendors alike need to be aware of the practices of this website.
WeddingWire's Decline in Customer Service & Support for Business Owners
I have been running my DJ and Lighting business, DA Productions DJ and Lighting Services, for over a decade now. I have been advertising with WeddingWire since 2009 and I must say that I have seen a lot of changes in their approach over the years. When I first started advertising with them, I was impressed with their personal concierge-like touch in helping me grow my business. They would call me up and give me suggestions on how to improve my website and marketing ideas, even if it was just them up-selling their own ads. I appreciated their professional feedback on my specific business approach.
What drew me to WeddingWire was the technology that their platform provided, which was quite different from other advertisers for the wedding industry, like The Knot. Although The Knot had stronger branding, their marketing and website was more like we were still in the 1990s. But now that these two companies have become one in the same, even though they run as different brands, they are referred to as "The Pro's".
Unfortunately, as they have grown, WeddingWire has really forgotten about their individual business owners and the sponsors that have supported their growth over time. In doing so, they have lost all aspects of what drew me to their business model and made me proud to be a member of their network.
This year, when it was time to renew my contract with WeddingWire, no human person ever reached out to me about discussing my past years' performance on their platform. No one asked me about feedback whether I was happy with the direction and support I had gotten or about how satisfied I was with the overall direction I had been given by their experts. What I did get is a renewal bill. That showed me that even though I had been a loyal customer of theirs, I wasn't important enough in giving feedback in supporting my business that I pay a lot of money for.
Their overall site is the bridge of getting clients in front of the right vendor for that perfect match. I dislike The Knot because I had advertised with them for about two years at a very expensive price, but I did get a good result out of my investment at least for the first 18 months of doing business with them. When I had made the decision not to move forward with renewing their contract in 2014, I had a dispute with the rep who had made a communication mistake and was charged for the next year worth of services. After filing a complaint about the charge, I was able to prove that I had supporting paperwork that said I would not be continuing in advertising with The Knot. In return, they removed all my reviews and acknowledgment of winning three Best in Wedding and as of today, I still don't show up anywhere on their platform.
My whole point in writing this is the belief in providing OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE and the review process, which is what matters to me. What past clients felt like after their special event and sharing it with others. Therefore, now I'm doing just that in a review.
One of my first jobs was with Nordstrom's where I learned about the approach in giving a great shopping experience to every customer who walked through their doors. I learned and grew with Nordstrom and have nothing but respect for what they did for me throughout the years working for them. When I left them, I never forgot about what made them so different from other retailers and have tried to walk the same walk as I did when working for them.
That means again making sure that the clients that hire me are given 110% of myself in making their special event all about them. I feel that I have lost that relationship with WeddingWire and The Knot and feel like others should know and learn that you're only as good as your last review on what the client experience was when spending money for services. People shop with people.
WeddingWire: The Ultimate Solution for Small Wedding Businesses - A Review
The internet has made the world accessible to everyone, but for small wedding businesses, it can be a harsh place. SEO, or search engine optimization, is a crucial aspect of online marketing. It determines where your business appears in search results when a potential client types in a search. If you're not in the top results, chances are no one will find you. Tricky keywords no longer work, as search engines like Google have complex algorithms that change continually. Even if you're a scientist at MIT or Stanford, you can't keep up with these changes.
But that's not all. The wedding industry has changed. It's no longer just about catering to 18-year-olds. Today, wedding vendors cater to all ages, from Traditionalists to Baby Boomers, Gen X, and Millennials. Marketing to all these demographics can be a challenge.
Thankfully, WeddingWire is here to help. It's one of the top web portals that potential couples go to, regardless of what Google changes. WeddingWire is always at the top because of the sheer number of people that use it. Advertising on WeddingWire is a no-brainer.
I've tried many different wedding web portals, but WeddingWire is different and better because of their people. They understand the importance of the backend people, the ones who deliver on all the promises that the salesperson made. I recently had my first consultation with Douglas Peters, a Customer Success Associate. As someone who has worked in the computer field for a long time, I was skeptical. But Doug impressed me with his knowledge, experience, and opinions in working with all types of vendors on WeddingWire. He shared valuable marketing, internet, Gen X, and Millennial tips and tricks with me. After our conversation, Doug sent me a follow-up email that outlined our discussion and all the recommendations he had made.
It's been close to a week since Doug and I spoke, and I continue to review his email notes. I realize that the real value of advertising on WeddingWire is in the knowledge that my Customer Success Associate, Doug Peters, has and his dedication to ensuring my business thrives. I look forward to a long relationship with WeddingWire and Doug Peters.
Best Regards,

WeddingWire Review: A Waste of Money for Vendors and a Confusing Nightmare for Couples
WeddingWire is a website that is supposed to help vendors expand their business, but in reality, it is a waste of money. The website takes advantage of couples who are planning their wedding and do not know much about the process. The website throws them into a confusing world of vendors, services, and ideas, which makes them feel desperate and mistrustful.
Our clients have been planning events for decades, and they usually have 200-400 guests. It takes them between 5 months to a year and a half to plan their events. However, WeddingWire's average client has 100 guests or less, and it takes them 15-24 months to plan their events. This means that advertising to their average client is useless for at least half of the vendors.
WeddingWire and TheKnot give clients tools to shop themselves into confusion, learn to trust no one, and play one vendor against another seeking price rather than overall value. This system foils personal contact, which is essential for all wedding vendors. Only vendors who have used these sites as their main platform have gotten any results, minimal as it is from what I'm told by colleagues.
Each site (WW & TK) is an organized platform for giving each vendor a page to post promotional copy, photos, videos, price ranges, website, social media, and contact info, all similarly presented, despite the vast differences between how each vendor runs their business. The email inquiry system provides a generic, pre-worded message requesting "...information about your services and packages!" which they've already been given in great detail, thanks to the display pages we've all paid for and worked so hard to configure & populate.
Most vendors don't even prefer offering "packages." They simply customize to each event. All client inquiries are mass-mailable to dozens of vendors at a time with a click or two, pre-worded with useless messages, containing no request for any direct contact that can move everything forward. As useless as saying "hi" and nothing else.
The inquiries we receive are never aimed directly at us, provide no specific information about the event (often false locations), and even a phone call within 24 hours is received as telemarketing, they have no idea why we're calling. None of them claim to have seen our pages, so they often wonder themselves why they sent the inquiry and politely inform us they're not ready or they're already taken care of.
After all the material, info we submit and all the page configuration we do, clients rarely see it, know nothing about the vendors they contact and provide no useful info to us, making pricing impossible. We suggested many times to the publisher that vendors should at least be allowed to compose the pre-wording for the inquiries. A semi-complete message would force users to fill things in: "Please contact Dave at (phone number) at (date and time range) so we can discuss..." etc. If it arrives unfilled, we know it's fake.
WeddingPro, however, insists they will not change the inquiry system. Successful vendors on these sites use them as a vehicle alongside their competition, but never as a reliable source for customers. In fact, customers have inquired to us just to receive quotes they could use for re-negotiation with vendors they've already chosen.
We know this because many turned out to be competing friends of ours. They were never interested, used our guidance and pricing to simply throw it at our competitor. WW & TK make this easy and normal. These sites also tell us to solicit our clients to directly post separate and differently-worded reviews for each site, allowing the publisher to measure online response (SEO). Good for them, bad for us.
No vendor wants to give multiple "homework" assignments to their valuable clients after they've paid you thousands to make their lives easier. Good luck asking them again to post another review on Google or your social media pages. Clients should be able to hand one review to the vendor, so he can post it anywhere he wants. Validity can be confirmed by the client later by clicking an email.
WeddingPro said they'd consider consolidating their reviews to serve both sites, but that's not happening. In conclusion, WeddingWire is not a reliable source for vendors to expand their business. It is a waste of money, and vendors should look for other ways to promote their services.
WeddingWire Review: A Comprehensive Look at the Pros and Cons of This Wedding Planning Website
I just wanted to start off by saying that I am someone who values good performance just as much as poor performance. I have only been a customer of WeddingWire for a few days, but I am already really pleased with the process so far. I will follow up with another review in 11 months to let you know if I have had any results or not. At this point, I am expecting the best! Here is my review:
As a single operation provider, I am very successful, but my budget is not as big as some of my competitors. Therefore, I make my advertising decisions with great care. After comparing WeddingWire and one of their competitors by speaking with reps from both groups and doing my own research from both a couple's perspective and a vendor's perspective, I chose WeddingWire for the following reasons:
1. My rep, Emma, seems to be personally invested and excited about my success. She learned a bit about my business, knew my competitors on a first-name basis, and understood where I stand in my market.
2. The network. With 19 websites, including different wedding sites, same-sex couple sites, and EventWire, it's clear that I will appear in more searches and be found by more couples as they visit different sites. Regardless of whether they know they are visiting a WeddingWire network site or not, I will be there.
3. The reviews. When I looked at reviews comparing WeddingWire to other sites, I found that many brides gave reviews of each, having used both. While I found many brides saying they switched to WeddingWire from other sites, and even many that had positive things to say about other sites, I found absolutely NO REVIEWS that said they switched from WeddingWire to other sites, nor did I find a single review that talked badly about WeddingWire. Many of the reviews actually pointed out that the level of planning tools made available to couples were absolutely vital to their process. Keep in mind that while WeddingWire makes these tools available, unlike their competition, they do NOT require couples to register in order to view us vendors. They only need to register to use the tools. This means that both the bride who takes the time to sign up, as well as the bride who is skimming for information, are reached.
4. Clean look. In comparison to other websites, I feel WAY less overwhelmed when I land on WeddingWire.com. I know many of my clients are totally overwhelmed by their planning process. Going to a website to help clarify your planning process, and being hit with a million different things, articles, tabs, etc. would make things worse in my opinion. Like my own website, WeddingWire.com has a simple navigation toolbar, and below it the ability to quickly find vendors by searching by category and zip code. Simple.
5. Business ethics. I found that much like local bridal expo promoters, WeddingWire's competition was ever-willing to say negative things about WeddingWire. My rep at WeddingWire never once talked down about their competition, and all the infographics and other materials and statements made by my rep were technically accurate and honest. When their competition told me that WeddingWire lacked this feature or that feature, they did NOT take into account that while WeddingWire.com specifically may not have a heavy focus on one market or specific feature, one of their partner sites DOES. Again, the network is huge and has something that will attract a variety of customer profiles. My rep at other websites used infographics that would have misled me if I weren't tech-savvy or very specific in what I allow into my mind. They told me that WeddingWire couldn't stand up against them, but when I asked them why, they had no real answers.
Finally, as I am writing this and you are hopefully reading this, we BOTH already know that we are so fortunate to work in this industry where we help people create their dream of one of the best days of their life into a reality. Not to mention, we get to party for a living and take a few months off in the winter (most of us). Part of standing out in this industry, and part of our jobs in general, is the level of effort we show and how willing we are to go the extra mile for our clients, as if they were our own friends/family. WeddingWire, and my rep Emma, just like I do for my clients, SIMPLY TRIED HARDER to help me and earn my money.
Thanks, Emma! I look forward to making some results!

The Importance of Leaving Honest Reviews: Standing Up Against Cancel Culture and Unprofessional Business Tactics
It seems like nowadays, it's impossible to leave a truthful review about a business without facing the wrath of cancel culture. If you dare to leave a negative review or anything less than a perfect 5-star rating, your review gets removed, and you get canceled. It's as if we're not allowed to point out areas that need improvement or challenge businesses anymore. It's like we're supposed to live in a world that's all sunshine and roses.
But how do we warn other potential customers to be careful if we can't leave a 1-star review on a business and the quality of their product or customer service level? Why do businesses think they should only have 5-star reviews posted and bully anyone who leaves a 1-star review to take it down by threatening to sue the customer? Who does this? And why can't a person leave a 1-star review online without worrying about being threatened, especially if they simply did not receive the product they were promised?
It's not fair that owners who only offer up excuses and blame the customer for everything that went wrong are not good business owners and will not be successful in the long run. When you hire a "professional" to do their job, you have an expectation that they know what they are doing. But if they don't, they shouldn't blame the customer for their mistakes.
When you're spending thousands of dollars on a service and you don't receive what you paid for, the Alberta Consumer Rights Acts protects the consumer from bullying by a business/owner to remove a negative post. In fact, a business cannot include in their business contract that "you, your family or friends" cannot leave a negative review. That is actually against the law, and if a contract includes this, it makes the contract void. Business owners should ensure they know this before putting it in a contract, or they could be out thousands of dollars should the consumer decide to fight it.
I thought this forum was created to be truthful and honest about the service you received from a wedding business, especially when said company threatens you repeatedly to remove a 1-star review or else. After leaving a review, this business made horrible, threatening, untruthful remarks and called my family members liars in their online response on their website. A review was also posted on WeddingWire regarding this business, but WeddingWire removed it. It's laughable that they make you agree to the terms and click a box to state that everything you're writing is truthful, yet they make a judgment call based on the little information you were able to give and decide if you can leave a review on this site, and be judge and jury to decide if you are telling the truth or not. Again, the reviews become unreliable if they are being filtered like this.
People should be warned about businesses like this and their bullying and completely unprofessional tactics. If WeddingWire wants to be an authentic and trustworthy website, they should allow all reviews that are within the guidelines of leaving a truthful, accurate review, positive or negative. The 1-star review posted for this business was accurate, fair, truthful, and in no way slanderous. Only facts were stated with proof that could be provided by voice messages, email exchanges, and the final product itself being subpar to say the least. So, we're not sure why this one was taken down. It's a shame!
In my experience, a business owner who reacts with a long response that is full of name-calling, blaming the customer, and idle threats is walking a thin line, and the review should be posted to warn others from having the same experience. This business can be assured that we will put the word out to our many family and friends that they should avoid hiring this company at all costs. We just want to ensure others won't be out thousands of dollars with nothing to show for what should be the most important day of their life. The results don't reflect the reality of the day, and one we can't create all over again. It's just so sad!
I'll be curious to see if this review is taken down or even posted. I've not listed a single person's name or business name on purpose. I have not made any type of slanderous statement, only told truthful facts which there is backup proof for everything said here. This whole online review process has become a joke for many consumers who have been ripped off, threatened, and had other tactics used on them to "encourage them to take down a review or else." It's disgusting to say the least! We certainly don't put much stock in online reviews any longer because we don't believe that a business with only 5-star reviews is real. It's just not reality! We'll go with word-of-mouth recommendations moving forward, and we'll ensure that our family and friends hear the same.
Business owners out there, learn how to take criticism, learn how to treat your customers, offer quality products and customer service, and you will thrive. Check this site out at how you should respond; it will help you in the long run! The business owner we dealt with could sure use this advice!
WeddingWire: A Scam for Brides and Grooms - My Nightmare Experience with Stephanie Haller Photography
WeddingWire is a website that many people trust when it comes to finding vendors for their wedding. However, my experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. I recently wrote a review of Stephanie Haller Photography, which was less than stellar, and it was disputed by Stephanie Haller herself. To my surprise, my post was removed without anyone verifying if I had a valid contract with her. I even forwarded my contract to WeddingWire, but I have yet to receive a response. It's clear to me that WeddingWire is a scam.
My husband and I hired Stephanie Haller as our photographer for our wedding on September 10, 2011. We expected a reasonable delay in getting our pictures back since she was moving from Seattle to New York at the time. However, instead of the promised 8-10 week turnaround, it took several months before we heard anything about the status of our photos. But that wasn't even the main issue. Stephanie had some sort of software corruption, which meant that she was only able to provide us with less than 25% of the pictures we were expecting to choose from. Many of the shots she sent us were very dark, and some even had my eyes closed. The quality of work we received was far from what we expected and paid for, even though Stephanie had assured us that every single shot she took would be edited.
Stephanie was not upfront about this disaster and kept us in the dark for several months. She didn't return our many emails, phone calls, and texts, and we had to resort to posting on her Facebook page to get a response. We felt like stalkers trying to figure out if the pictures from other weddings she shot in September were delivered. We contacted the second photographer she had with her during our wedding, but he didn't give us much information and played dumb. He obviously knew about what happened, but probably wanted Stephanie to give us the bad news. You can imagine the stress this caused us. Friends and family kept asking us about our pictures, but we had no news to tell them.
Finally, on December 5, 2011, we received an email from Stephanie saying that our gallery would be up by the end of the week. A month passed, and we still didn't receive anything from her. Then, on January 6, 2012, she responded to one of my texts saying that she hadn't responded because she took a two-week vacation over the holidays, but that September weddings were on the way. We didn't hear from her until two weeks later, when she finally confessed about the software corruption. This was several months after the wedding and after many messages to her that went unanswered. Our worst fear was finally confirmed. She explained that she had shipped her hard drive to Australia to a company that specialized in these sorts of issues, but there was no luck in recovering the lost files. My husband and I, along with our family and friends, were completely devastated when she told us the news. We were very disappointed in the pictures she provided. I had only one picture of myself and my parents (from the second photographer's camera) and maybe a couple from when I was getting ready. I emailed her a list of the specific shots I wanted her to take, but only got a few acceptable pictures. A question that has yet to be answered is why there was no backup of the raw images. I assumed that she would provide due diligence by having a copy of the raw images on a separate disc(s), but apparently it is not in her process.
In one of her emails, Stephanie told me that this was one of the worst things she could go through as a photographer. True, but how much worse is it for the bride and groom? She can have several other weddings in the same month, but my husband and I intend to only have one wedding for the rest of our lives. We spent so much time, money, and effort into planning that one day, and we barely have any pictures to show for it. Yes, we had friends and family who had their own cameras, but we specifically hired someone because we wanted pictures that were taken professionally and in the style that we loved of Stephanie's work. Don't get me wrong, she has many beautiful images on her website and blog, and probably had many wonderful shots of our wedding. She is a talented photographer, but that doesn't change the fact that our images were lost.
Though a full refund absolutely does not make us whole (it's not like we purchased a tangible item that we could take back to a store for a refund), it's what we expected at the very least since we didn't get what we paid for. Again, my husband and I intend for this wedding to be the only one we have for the rest of our lives and will not have a chance to do it again. We felt like a full refund was just not enough, but Stephanie reminded us of the contract we originally signed. By signing it, we waived our right to small claims court, so we would have to go into arbitration if we wanted to settle things that way and would end up paying way more than what we did originally. It would cost Stephanie money as well, but she has Photographer's insurance that would cover those expenses for her. She reminded us that she is only legally obligated to refund us half of what we originally paid, but she was willing to give us a full refund if we signed a release form agreeing not to disparage or shed one another in a negative light through any form of written or electronic communication, including the internet. Not only did we lose out on complete pictures of our wedding, but we couldn't say anything to anyone about it. We thought that was ridiculous and we were advised by an attorney not to sign it.
Our attorney created a new form asking her to repay us in full and provide $200 worth of prints of the pictures that were provided and two large canvas prints. She agreed to the new contract, but it was hard for us to order prints given the limited number of pictures we could choose from. In fact, I had to use a picture of my dog for one of the canvases because there were so few shots to choose from. My advice to other brides is to not hire Stephanie Haller. Other than being flaky and unresponsive, we thought she was a nice enough person, and we got along with her well at first. She obviously is capable of good work, but are you willing to take such a big chance with such an important day? I was told by Stephanie that I was not the only wedding that was affected. We had a beautiful wedding, and we wish so much to have something to show for it.
We ordered the Shel-Lab Forced Air Oven to use at our mill here at our feedyard. It is a great product, so easy to use. We are very satisfied with our decision to order our oven thru The Lab World Group, they were very helpful, friendly and our oven arrive as schedule.
Lab World is a reputable outfit. Good equipment, honest management, and exceptional delivery people. I have bought numerous pieces of equipment here, and have never gotten anything less than I expected.
Made the whole process so easy, very affordable compared to a new model and instrument worked well upon the prompt delivery!
I've ordered 2 pieces of equipment from The Lab World Group, and both times I've been met with great customer service. *** answered all of my questions! The equipment was adequately packaged, and arrived on time. I will seek out TLWG again for any prototype equipment I might need.

Weddingwire takes down truthful negative reviews about vendors
Apparently you can't leave a truthful review about a businesses unprofessional business practices anymore, anywhere. CANCEL CULTURE RULES SUPREME IN REVIEWS these days! If the review is in anyway negative or not the desired rating of only "5 stars", it gets removed, you get canceled. How dare someone say anything negative about an experience with a business. How dare you challenge them. How dare you point out areas that need improving. Let's just live in a world that is all sunshine and roses.
How do you warn other potential customers to be careful if you can't leave a 1 star review on a business and the quality of their product or customer service level? Does a business think they should only have 5 stars reviews posted and bully anyone who leaves a 1 star review to take it down by threatening they will sue you the customer? Wow, who does this? And why can't a person leave a 1 star review online without worry of being threatened, if they simply did not receive the product they were promised? Owners who only offer up excuses and blame the customer for everything that went wrong are not good business owners and will not be successful in the long run. When you hire a "professional" to do their job, you have an expectation they know what they are doing, but if they don't, hey don't worry, it's not their fault, it's all yours as the customer and they will be sure to point this out to you and take no responsibility for their part in it.
When you are spending $1000's of dollars on a service, and you do not receive what you paid for, the Alberta Consumer Rights Acts protects the consumer regarding bullying from a business/owner from having to remove a negative post. In fact, a business cannot include in their business contract that "you, your family or friends" cannot leave a negative review. Weddingwire flooded with fraud and scam, failed to deliver its promise, and account manager left job without notification leave my account unattended
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against WeddingWire, also operating under the name "The Knot," for their fraudulent business practices, breach of contract, and lack of redress for affected consumers. I urge you to investigate this business, as I believe their actions not only violate consumer rights but may also be indicative of a larger pattern of...
Read full review of WeddingWireUnethical and Illegal Practices of WeddingWire: A Warning to All Vendors and Customers
I called WeddingWire to inquire about their services and rates for my new business. However, they started calling me incessantly after I asked them to give me a few months to think about it. They kept bothering me to sign up with them for approximately $150 per month, but eventually, I caved and agreed to pay $195 per month. I thought it was too much, but they persisted until I signed up with them.
After a few weeks, my business fell into serious financial problems, and I emailed them repeatedly to ask if I could cancel my subscription. I explained that I could no longer afford their services, especially since I had a two-year-old to take care of. However, the same person who wouldn't stop calling me was now unreachable after weeks of trying to contact her. I had their service for five months, and during that time, I only received one real lead, and the rest were fake. I knew they were fake because all the leads were in the exact same format, with just a few words replaced. When I replied, it was someone trying to scam me by offering to send ridiculous amounts of money and asking me to mail the surcharge to them. Or, it was just a ghost.
I thought there was an automated format for people to use to reach out to vendors, but there wasn't. Instead, there was just a format for WeddingWire's "Fake Lead Department" to use regularly. I spoke to many people, and they all agreed that they had similar experiences with fake leads and scammers from this company. It seems like they are involved in illegal activities, and I wish I could afford a lawyer to investigate these unethical practices.
After a few months of being ignored by them, I had to report my card lost. However, they started calling me again after one missed payment, even though I had reported my card as stolen. They somehow force-charged my bank account, even though I had reported my card as stolen. Now, amidst the COVID pandemic and unemployment, I have a negative bank balance with a toddler to take care of. WeddingWire is a very unethical company with blatantly ignorant illegal activities.
If any lawyer sees this and would like to sue them, I would like to get involved. I am in an extremely difficult situation because of this company, and all of our struggles seem to be a big joke for these criminals!

WeddingWire Review: Discontinued Tools, Insensitive Customer Service, and Fake Inquiries - A Nightmare for Small Businesses
WeddingWire, oh boy, where do I even begin? I have been a loyal customer of theirs for years, relying on their online customer management tools to keep my small business running smoothly. But then, out of nowhere, they decided to discontinue the very tools that I had come to depend on. All of my clients' information was stored within their platform, and now it was all gone. To make matters worse, they continued to charge me the same amount, even though they had taken away the very reason I was paying them in the first place.
When I reached out to their customer service rep, Allison Mayes, to express my frustration and disappointment, she responded in a way that was completely insensitive to my concerns. She basically told me that they could do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted, and that I was obligated to pay them regardless. I mean, seriously? I was paying for a service that they no longer provided, and they were still expecting me to fork over my hard-earned money?
I decided that enough was enough and sent them a letter telling them that I would no longer be paying them until they reinstated the tools that I needed. But then, something strange happened. I started getting inquiries for my business - something that hadn't happened in years. I began to wonder if maybe I had made a mistake in cutting ties with WeddingWire.
So, I manually sent them a payment, hoping that maybe things would start to turn around. But then, I found out that the inquiries were fake, and WeddingWire was still demanding payment from me. I sent them proof of my payment, but they continued to insist that I owed them money.
Now, I can't even log into my account, and I haven't heard a peep from anyone at WeddingWire. They took my money, shut me out of my account, and left me high and dry. I'm beyond frustrated and angry at this point, and I'm seriously considering taking legal action against them. Small businesses like mine shouldn't be treated this way, and I wouldn't recommend WeddingWire to anyone.
WeddingWire Review: A Despicable Way to Do Business - Don't Waste Your Money
We were a bit hesitant about advertising on weddingwire or the knot, but we decided to give weddingwire a try. Unfortunately, after six months, we didn't receive a single real lead. We did get one fake lead, though. Weddingwire promises a certain amount of clicks to your storefront, but as soon as you receive those clicks, they drop you from the standings. This company relies on people who are willing to take chances, and unfortunately, we lost. It happens.
We gave weddingwire one star because they charge a monthly fee to be "seen" by brides. Their "free" listing isn't seen by anyone unless they search for it on a search engine like Google, Yahoo, or Bing. If your "free" business profile shows up next to your website, the client may click on weddingwire's site instead of yours. Once they're on your weddingwire "free" profile, they'll see a competitor of yours. This is a despicable way to do business, and it's actually illegal. You can ask weddingwire to delete your "free" profile.
The monthly fee promises an average number of clicks, but you never actually get those clicks. They could be from a 12-year-old who's planning her fantasy wedding on weddingwire and clicks on your profile. You lose a click just like that. As for the reviews, customers don't write them because they want to. Businesses ask them to. It's like asking your family and friends to write you a good review. You could even pay people to write you a good review. It's rigged.
The "badges" that vendors get are supposed to be awards, but anyone can advertise on weddingwire. They don't care about the quality of services that vendors offer to brides. Photographers, DJs, wedding planners, and other vendors can advertise on weddingwire, even if they're not very good. It's a dangerous thing to book vendors on weddingwire. You could end up with a software engineer who owns a crappy camera.
Sorry for the long post, but most people don't go into detail about how bad weddingwire's whole system really is.
WeddingWire Forums: Helpful Resource or Playground for Bullies?
WeddingWire is a great resource for brides-to-be who are looking for reviews and resources for their big day. However, there are some issues with the forums on the site that need to be addressed. There is a group of 10-15 women who have formed a clique and will condemn anyone who has a different opinion than what is considered the norm on the site. These women will scrutinize your ideas, demean you, and make unruly comments. They are catty and if you dare respond in the same manner that they have been responding to other members, you will be flagged and they will be able to stay and continue harassing and demeaning others.
I have witnessed these "ladies" literally crucify people for having a different opinion, for not having enough resources to have what they would consider to be an elite wedding, and for not having the same cultural beliefs and etiquette as many of them appear to have. After watching several posters become upset or lose confidence, I made it my mission to point out to members that what they were doing was wrong. However, when they responded to me with blatant disrespect and sarcasm and I responded with the same blatant sarcasm, I was flagged and they were able to continue to harass and demean others without reprimand. They will then point out the rules and how they know how to get around them. It's frustrating to see these immature brats terrorize other members for different views. They condone these individuals to do as they please. Perhaps, they are part of the WW team and get special privileges.
If you want to check out their website or if you doubt me, go and see for yourself. This forum is obnoxious and needs to be checked. WW should be ashamed of themselves for condoning such behavior when they are such a good resource for brides to be. I hope that they make changes and realize that if they do not stop allowing this kind of behavior from bullies on their forum, they are going to lose membership. It's happened to big sites such as Friendster, Myspace, etc. If they believe that this can not happen to them, they are highly mistaken. It is wrong and I really do not like the experience that I and others have had on this site. You literally had people stating that they have become depressed or upset because of comments that have been made and even if they are flagged, they are still able to continue to terrorize people.
Despite the issues with the forums, I will admit that WeddingWire is helpful in other areas such as reviews and resources. However, they need to make some serious changes to their forums. It's a shame that such a resourceful site condones such hateful and immature behavior.
WeddingWire Review: A Scam Company That Preys on Small Businesses
I gotta say, I was pretty skeptical about signing up with WeddingWire (weddingwire.com) for my small photography business. But they assured me that if I didn't get any bookings through them within 6 months, they'd give me a refund. Well, let me tell you, that was a load of baloney. I've been stuck in a contract with them for 7 months now, and they won't let me out of it. And to top it off, they clearly play favorites with their long-time customers, making sure their ads pop up first while mine is stuck on page 4. It's like they don't care about the little guys like me.
And don't even get me started on their customer service. I've corresponded with Danielle S. several times, and it's been a complete waste of time. All she does is offer useless suggestions and try to cover her own butt by showing that she's reached out to me. But what good does that do me? I'm still stuck in a contract that's clearly not working for me.
I mean, sure, I've gotten a few emails from potential clients through WeddingWire, but they're clearly just mass emails sent to a bunch of vendors. And even when I follow up with them multiple times, I never get any bookings or even a conversation. It's like they're fake emails or something. Meanwhile, I've been advertising on Facebook and actually getting some business that way.
So, my advice to anyone thinking about signing up with WeddingWire: don't waste your time or money. They're clearly a scam company that preys on small businesses like mine. Stick with Facebook or other more reputable sites. And WeddingWire, if you're reading this, don't bother replying with some canned response. You guys are worthless.
WeddingWire's Forum Section: A Haven for Bullies and Admins Who Turn a Blind Eye
When I first stumbled upon WeddingWire, I was ecstatic. I couldn't believe how easy it was to navigate and how many resources were available to help me plan my dream wedding. However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I decided to check out the forum section of the site.
I made a simple post asking for opinions on whether or not I should wear a tiara for my royal-themed castle wedding. Most of the responses were kind and helpful, but one woman in particular was incredibly rude and aggressive. She asked if I was royalty and claimed that wearing a tiara would make my wedding look like a childish sweet 16 party. When I asked her why she was being so harsh, she simply replied that it was a public forum and she could say whatever she wanted.
I flagged her responses and even tried to defend myself, but my comments were removed along with the comments of other women who agreed that the rude woman was being catty. It was like being back in high school, and I couldn't believe that the admins weren't doing anything to stop the bullying.
I'm convinced that there is a group of unhappy and bitter women on the site who enjoy attacking others. It's clear that the admins are biased and don't enforce their anti-bullying policy. They claim to carefully review every flagged response and compare it to their strict guidelines, but they clearly fail to see where a comment or opinion crosses the line into actual insult.
I showed the forum to my coworkers and bridesmaids, and they were all appalled by the behavior of the rude woman and the lack of action from the admins. It's clear that they must know her personally, because her behavior shouldn't be acceptable on any platform.
I know that an admin will likely respond to this review with the same generic message about contacting them with questions or concerns, but I won't waste my time. It's clear that they won't resolve anything, and I want to warn others about their ineffective community guidelines and enforcement.
WeddingWire Review: A Reliable Platform for Growing Your Wedding Business with Exceptional Support from Mike Dillon
The wedding industry is a tough business, and it takes a lot of effort to stand out from the competition. As a wedding photographer with over 38 years of experience, I know that customer satisfaction is key. That's why I was hesitant to sign up with WeddingWire, despite their persistent calls over the years. However, in 2017, we decided to give it a try after seeing a slight dip in our numbers due to the influx of new photographers in our area.
At first, we were skeptical of WeddingWire's sales pitch, which seemed to promise unsubstantiated percentage increases. But after speaking with Mike Dillon, we were pleasantly surprised by his helpfulness and expertise. Mike was a breath of fresh air, and he provided us with monthly updates and responsive support whenever we needed it. He showed us how to best showcase our business on WeddingWire, and we were impressed by his professionalism and dedication.
Unfortunately, we didn't receive the same level of support from the rest of the WeddingWire sales staff. While Mike was always there to help, we never heard from anyone else at the company. This was in stark contrast to our experience with The Knot, which also provided us with excellent support and won us the Best of Weddings award in our first year.
Despite this, we were happy with our decision to sign up with WeddingWire, and we saw a significant increase in our business as a result. However, we eventually decided to stop our paid listing due to the overall numbers. Nevertheless, we would definitely work with Mike again in the future, as he was a true superstar who went above and beyond to support our business.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a reliable and knowledgeable partner for your wedding business, I would definitely recommend WeddingWire. While their sales staff may not be the most attentive, their platform is a great way to reach new customers and grow your business. And if you're lucky enough to work with someone like Mike Dillon, you'll be in great hands.
WeddingWire: A Trap for Small Businesses - My Experience and Warning
I decided to give WeddingWire a try since they offer free services. However, I soon realized that their free services come with a catch. I started receiving calls and emails asking me to schedule a "Welcome Call" to verify my account. I had no intention of buying a paid membership, but the lady on the phone convinced me to sign up for the lowest package. She promised me leads, page traffic, and revenue. She even offered me a 15% discount that was only available at that time. I fell for it and made my first mistake.
My second mistake was not researching their services before the call. If you look beyond their paid ads, you'll see that many people have had negative experiences with WeddingWire. They make empty promises and take people's money without delivering results.
My third mistake was not paying attention to the terms of the contract. I thought I was signing up for a month-to-month membership, but I later found out that I had agreed to a fixed initial term of one year. I tried to cancel my membership only a few hours after signing up, but they refused to let me out of the contract.
WeddingWire is not small business-friendly. They trap you in a one-year contract and make it difficult to cancel. They promise leads and revenue, but they don't deliver. They are only interested in making money, not helping small businesses grow.
If you're a big business with money to spend, then maybe WeddingWire is for you. But if you're a small business trying to build a portfolio, then you're better off spending your money elsewhere. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Do your research before signing up for any paid services.
I'm still trying to find a way out of my contract without ruining my credit or getting sued. WeddingWire is a leech that preys on small businesses. Stay away from them if you can.
WeddingWire Review: More Focused on Making Money Than Helping Couples and Vendors
Hey there, I just wanted to share my thoughts on WeddingWire. I've been using their services as a vendor for a while now, and I have to say, I'm not entirely impressed.
First off, I understand that WeddingWire is a business and they need to make money. But I don't think it's fair that they require vendors to sign a 12-month contract. If they truly believed in their business model, they wouldn't need to force vendors to stay with them. And from what I've seen in reviews on Google, Chrome, and Firefox, some vendors have had issues with not receiving the promised amount of inquiries.
I also take issue with the language used in their responses to vendors. Saying that couples will "go with competitors" if vendors don't sign up for their services is just a sales tactic. Couples choose vendors based on fit, quality, and price, and vendors should be able to compete fairly.
It seems to me that WeddingWire is more focused on making money than helping couples and vendors. They push big money vendors and seem to forget that the wedding industry is about helping people. We need more help in the world right now, not more greed.
And to top it all off, their pricing seems to be inconsistent. I've been offered monthly prices ranging from $180 to $225, depending on which sales agent I talk to and how many new accounts they've brought in.
I'm not trying to attack anyone personally, but I do think WeddingWire needs to reevaluate their priorities. They should be focused on doing the right thing and helping others, not just making money. I know this probably won't change, but I hope they remember where they came from and why they started this business in the first place.
As a vendor, I choose to promote other vendors and venues above my own business. It's not about the money for me, it's about helping others. I wish WeddingWire had the same mindset.
In the end, we all have a choice. Vendors can choose to advertise with companies that share their values. I just hope that WeddingWire remembers that the wedding industry is about helping couples and vendors find and receive the wedding of their dreams.
Thanks for reading,
Tori Reigle
Customer service
Through a pandemic, and now almost 10 years later I have paid this company $14.400 and did not have a return on my investment. In my category of cakes I realized that there are 97 total "companies" listed. What i consider to be a bakery is an actual storefront. Not home bakers. Out of 97 there are 57+ companies that are listed that list no address. So how do they consider themselves a company servings bakeries but are not official bakeries. So pre-covid I was paying $110 per month and then increased to $175 without my knowledge or some sort of notification, they call it a renewal. However, a renewal all the terms of the contract stay the same including the price unless notified-right? Nope there excuse is its on your dashboard...NOT ACCEPTABLE. I questioned this and that was my account executives response. I won many couples choice awards, however you have to pay $60+ dollars to get an official plaque. In order to win you need (5) reviews by clients, I received (3), not five and know that it was due to my renewal coming up. Once I made my complaints knows I got an influx of inquiries by potential clients, ALL GARBAGE. Not one out of the 20+ did any person get back and respond. In the past few years I have received several spam inquiries leading you along and then asking for personal information or wanting to add services and see if I took cheques. Their vetting process stinks. If you click on a vendor you are interested in I would get an email, but then the next day wedding wire would send three potential other vendors of the same category and email to contact them. NOT ACCEPTABLE. So the first page of vendors I was on that page, paid for it but the next six pages were all unpaid bakers, these people were "FREE" and did not have to pay monthly and they could list their starting price less than someone that actually is a professional and pays out the A** to be listed. I tried to cancel at the time and could not as my account executive said you cant cancel before the date.
I did cancel my account yesterday and she asked were there any reasons? I said many reasons and Hannah did not even take the time to ask why? Some executive who really cares.
Wedding wire is the one that will get your SEO, you are not getting any of the benefit of that so its taking your money, very little return and throwing it out the window!
Desired outcome: refund of $50 for two years. $1,200
Stole my Domain
I purchased a domain through Wedding Wire thinking I would use their website platform only to find it incredibly confusing and hard to use, especially for my guests. I went and found another platform and asked Wedding Wire to send me the credentials over in order to forward the website domain onto another platform. I've asked them twice now and they said that they refuse to give it to me.
I spoke with the domain hosting site that Wedding Wire uses, EuroDSN, and they said that because my actual name isn't attached, legally they can't release it to me.
I paid $24.00 for it and it is rightfully mine. I also spent hundreds of dollars on creating wedding invitations with MY website domain and can't send them out now until this is resolved. I am extremely upset and would just like my domain credentials immediately. It's holding up my wedding planning and it's completely unethical.
Desired outcome: I want my credentials immediately.
Refused to let me speak with a supervisor
I opened a wedding venue during the pandemic. I reached out to Wedding Wire to try to promote the venue. I was very clear that I was concerned about a number of issues but I felt might affect Wedding Wire's ability to promote the venue. All of my concerns have become a reality. When I reached out for support and asked to speak to a supervisor the person I spoke with refused to provide me with the name or contact information to her superior. I just want to talk to somebody who actually cares but I have spent thousands of dollars with absolutely zero return. It just seems like good business to work with someone who could be a lifelong customer if they were just hear me out and work with me.
Desired outcome: Speak with a supervisor NOT Casey!!
harassment by kathryn cannella of massachusetts
I am just this complaint based upon what this girl has done to me. I was a small-time business owner for makeup Artistry and when she was unsatisfied with my work she put a complaint up on this site. It has been ongoing since 2016 with her harassing messages calling me fat, a drug addict, and Oompa Loompa, ugly, as well as making fun of my deceased husband and brother. I just need to make people aware of her conniving ways so that you can avoid being a victim. I did research on her on this website and seemingly she complains and is unhappy with everyone she runs into. I went to the police and took her to court and filed a harassment order against her. But that still did not stop her, the phone calls, the text messages and the private messages on Facebook continued. 5 years later I am still getting comments from her.
Seemingly she is above everybody and the law. She is severely struck by mental illness which makes me feel sad however it does not her give her the license to harass anybody.
That still did not stop her.
To see her whole slew of messages to me, please scroll down and you will see a link for "unprofessional who will harass you". That is evidence enough. Thank you for your time
If anyone would like to see the things she said about me and my brother and my husband on this board, I can certainly screenshot and show proof.
Just an update
professional account
I am a small business owner who made the terrible decision to pay WeddingWire to be a "Professional" account holder. In return for my $100+/month fee, I was promised 8-10 leads per month.
Month one - 6 leads
Month two - 3 leads
Month three - 3 leads
The only two of these total of 12 leads I received in 3 months that responded to me were looking for services that my business clearly does not provide. I honestly believe the other 10 leads were fake.
When I emailed requesting assistance with garnering leads and finding value in the money that I'm paying them, NO ONE RESPONDED TO ME. When I emailed again a month later, the reply I received explained that my previous email must have been "lost in the shuffle" from when they recently partnered with TheKnot. I was then promised that this employee was sending an urgent ticket to the account strategist team who would be in touch with me in the next day or two to help me with my account.
Two more weeks went by, and I heard nothing from anyone on their staff.
I finally emailed again and asked if they could please just cancel my account. They refused over and over again to do so, claiming that I have "a 12 month contract" from which they refuse to release my business.
I don't understand why anyone would want to retain clients that are so obviously unhappy with their services, but I suppose that scamming small business owners for one year is the only way that they make money. I cannot imagine any other small businesses stay with them for longer than their contract term.
I'm incredibly disheartened, and feel like I've been conned out of over $1300, but what am I to do?
I implore you or anyone you know to steer clear of signing any agreements with WeddingWire, as they are certain to take your money and not deliver on their end of the deal.
If I had it all to do over again, I would have avoided them altogether. I guess that's the thing about starting a business on your own for the first time... you learn many lessons the hard way. Hopefully, if this is your first time, my review will help to better inform your decision about working with them.
Best of luck!
couples already happily married / fake leads
Weddingwire site is fraud and a pyramid scheme. I have researched all my messages from potential clients that they need a wedding photographer. Every single couple is happily married! For $110 a month in a locked contract you gain nothing! Never sign on with this company, EVER! I will have wasted almost $1, 250 and no email back from a client.
fake purse
This woman Christ Noonas was selling a fake purse on line on FB and called her out on it and she has been sending me harassing messages on FB TELLING ME SHE KNOWS WHERE I LIVE... this woman is absolutely psycho and needs help immediately if any family member sees this they need to get this woman some serious help right away. I'm not even kidding my brother is a police officer and we are about to file harassment charges against this woman. I have not seen a woman this psycho in many years it's very disturbing. Steer clear of this woman I have not seen evil like this in quite a long time! Unreal
Trisha Morrissey, do you really want to be prosecuted again? I have posted below the threats you sent me. I did nothing to you, the police told me u arehabitual at this to other women. clearly you will never learn, you're a sad story I will pray for you
unethical behavior
This site condones unethical behavior to potential users/customers of their website. They allow people to get cyber bullied and when complaints are made, they reply with "They were following guidelines" even though members were allowed to demean and torment people with different beliefs, etiquette, financial status and opinions. It is usually the same individuals that constantly get away with this after several complaints and they band together to flag you if they disagree with your opinion. Furthermore, weddingwire knows that these women are bending the rules and are blatantly disrespecting and cyber bullying people...Just within their guidelines. Is this what a decent place of business accepts and encourages. Members have even stated that they are depressed or hurt over these same individuals that are allowed to bully potential customers/users of a site that is supposed to be a place where brides to be are to receive advice and support for the biggest day of their lives. I am hoping that this as well as other complaints pertaining to this issue gets the attention of weddingwire so they can weed out those who are the main perpetrators of the above despicable actions so that the site can be a safer and cyber bully free zone. However, if after several complaints were made and getting band for standing up to these cyber bullies, it appears that these members are allowed to continue their lawlessness and weddingwire staff encourages it. I just want them to know that I will make complaints to anyone who has ears and let them know that a place of business that condones cyber bullying on potential customers/users of this site is unacceptable and their service, therefore, should be avoided until they get their acts together and realize that when you are doing business, all ethical and moral standards should be taken seriously.
expensive, no support
If you have a small business or just started it, WeddingWire is the worst place for providing your service.
Not only because they are very expensive, but also because their vendor support works like a crap.
For the money I pay I would like to get a decent support and service, but instead of this, I get nothing. What they perfectly do is taking your money away. That's all.
So you better look for other places.
