Rude women
What a terrible place! Rude women from this forum should be burnt on fire for everything they post, say and comment on there.
No wonder new users are often run away. I experienced the same and once I was attacked by several angry women I decided I wanted to delete my profile and never come back.
So my question is: is there anyone from customer service who checks the topics, sees what those women post and how they treat each other? I don't know how, but someone must stop those idiots.
It's a huge terrarium that should stop existing!
Unprofessional who will harass you.
I would not recommend C. to anyone I know. I did a trial with her and I was horrified, my fiance was horrified, and everyone I sent pictures too was horrified. She came in, and did tell me she was having a rough day so I was willing to excuse a few things, but in the end was very unprofessional and didn't care about making me happy at all. She didn't ask me...
Read full review of WeddingWire and 19 commentsVery disappointed.
WeddingWire was definitely not helpful at all. I had a difficult situation and decided to ask someone from WeddingWire for an advice. The girls on the forum just personally attacked me! Girls were extremely rude and impolite. I deleted all my comments and just wanted to forget about what happened. But several hours later I checked the site and noticed that those girls were still commenting with rude, senseless, unhelpful remarks page after page. I was so upset reading all those comments about myself. I am an unhappy client and I will never use this website again. Very disappointed.
Would definitely not use Weddingwire.com for any wedding planning or information
I used weddingwire.com as a starting point to find a DJ for my wedding. However, I had to terminate the one I found prior to my wedding, because he was rude and very hard to work with. Since I contacted him based on weddingwire.com reviews I thought I should leave a review of my experience to warn others. It was very factual and not at all exaggerated or mean spirited review.
Within just a couple of hours, Weddingwire.com contacted me and said that since I terminated the contract prior to the event, I was not permitted to write a review. I find this complete absurd since it’s exactly these types of reviews brides/grooms/wedding planners should know about. There’s no telling how many other people have had a terrible experience with this vendor but were not able to write a review about it on the website, resulting in a very misleading overall rating for this vendor.
Weddingwire.com is obviously on the side of the vendors not the birdes/grooms/wedding planners that use that site. Only the reviews that are positive are allowed. I would not trust a single rating for any vendor on this site, and would definitely not use Weddingwire.com for any wedding planning or information.
I couldn't agree more... I had a similiar issue with a makeup vendor (who had multiple WeddingWire Bride's Choice awards). WeddingWire removed my unfavorable review too. The reason also was because I cancelled my appointment with the vendor. The vendor took my $100 deposit, never sent me a contract and then tried to raise the agreed-to price of the services from $150 to $500!
I wish I had spent some time doing my homework on WeddingWire. I did not realize that they get paid to advertise for vendors. I don't think a lot of brides realize this.
They promise you a refund and NEVER send it
All these vendors think Wedding Wire is great! I used to think so too... Well just wait until someone posts a completely slanderous and false review about you and watch while Weddingwire does nothing to save your good reputation. If you complain you get a "why you shouldn't sue us" link to their website where they proceed to try and scare you. Then if you complain again they cancel your account, promise you a refund and NEVER send it. Now I have spent thousands on lawyers so I can go after them and save my life's work... don't be so quick to defend them vendors.. they won't defend you back.
It is so frustrating to have a website you think you can trust, but turns out to be a scam
It is so frustrating to have a website you think you can trust, but turns out to be a scam. DO NOT TRUST weddingwire! I wrote a less than stellar review of Stephanie Haller Photography and it got disputed by Stephanie Haller. My post was removed and no one even followed up with me to verify that I actually have a valid contract with her. I also forwarded my contract to wedding wire using the email I was sent notifying me of the disputed review, but no one has yet to contact me. Weddingwire is a SCAM!
My husband and I really regret hiring Stephanie Haller as our photographer for our wedding on September 10, 2011. At the time of our wedding, she was moving from Seattle to New York. Understandably, we expected to have a reasonable delay in getting our pictures back. Instead of the usual 8-10 week turnaround that was promised on our contract, it took several months before we even heard anything about the status of the photos. But that’s not even the main issue. Apparently she had some sort of “software corruption” and was only able to provide us with less than 25% of the pictures we were expecting to choose from. A lot of the shots she sent to us were very dark (I had my eyes closed in quite a few) and certainly did not come close to the quality of work we expected and paid for (even though she told us in our initial meeting that every single shot she took would be edited).
Stephanie was not up front about this horrible disaster and kept us in the dark for several months. There was a long period of time where she did not return our many emails, phone calls and texts. We had to resort to posting on her Facebook page to get a response from her. We wrote messages on her wall begging her to get back to us, but that still didn’t help. She did, however, manage to find the time to remove the messages from her wall. We felt like stalkers trying to figure out if the pictures other clients’ weddings she shot in September were delivered. We contacted the 2nd photographer she had with her during our wedding, but he didn’t give us much information and played dumb. He obviously knew about what happened, but probably wanted Stephanie to give us the bad news (don’t blame him one bit). You can imagine the stress this caused us. Friends and family kept asking us about our pictures, but we had no news to tell them.
Finally on December 5, 2011, we got an email from her saying that our “gallery will be up by the end of the week”. A month passed and we still did not get anything from her. Then on January 6, 2012, she responds to one of my texts saying that she hasn’t responded, because she took a 2 week vacation over the holidays, “but will be delivering September weddings this week, so they’re on the way. Thank you for your patience!” We didn’t end up hearing from her until 2 weeks later, which is when she finally confessed about the software corruption. This was several months after the wedding and after many messages to her that went unanswered. Our worst fear was finally confirmed. She explained that she had shipped her hard drive to Australia to a company that specialized in these sorts of issues and that there was no luck in recovering the lost files. My husband and I, along with our family and friends, were completely devastated when she told us the news. We were very disappointed in the pictures she provided. I had 1 picture of myself and my parents (from the 2nd photographer’s camera) and maybe a couple from when I was getting ready. I emailed her a list of the specific shots I wanted her to take, but only got a few acceptable pictures. A question that has yet to be answered is why there was no back up of the raw images. I assumed that she would provide due diligence by having a copy of the raw images on a separate disc(s), but apparently it is not in her process.
In one of her emails she told me that this was one of the worst things she could go through as a photographer. True, but how much worse is it for the bride and groom? She can have several other weddings in the same month, but my husband and I intend to only have 1 wedding for the rest of our lives. We spent so much time, money, and effort into planning that one day and we barely have any pictures to show for it. Yes, we had friends and family who had their own cameras, but we specifically hired someone, because we wanted pictures that were taken professionally and in the style that we loved of Stephanie’s work. Don’t get me wrong, she has many beautiful images on her website and blog and probably had many wonderful shots of our wedding. She is a talented photographer, but that doesn’t change the fact that our images were lost.
Though a full refund absolutely does not make us whole (it’s not like we purchased a tangible item that we could take back to a store for a refund), it’s what we expected at the very least since we didn’t get what we paid for. Again, my husband and I intend for this wedding to be the only one we have for the rest of our lives and will not have a chance to do it again. We felt like a full refund was just not enough, but Stephanie reminded us of the contract we originally signed. By signing it, we waived our right to small claims court, so we would have to go into arbitration if we wanted to settle things that way and would end up paying way more than what we did originally. It would cost Stephanie money as well, but she has Photographer’s insurance that would cover those expenses for her. She reminded us that she is only legally obligated to refund us half of what we originally paid, but she was willing to give us a full refund IF we signed a release form agreeing “not to disparage or shed one another in a negative light through any form of written or electronic communication, including the internet.” Not only did we lose out on complete pictures of our wedding, but we couldn’t say anything to anyone about it. We thought that was ridiculous and we were advised by an attorney not to sign it.
Our attorney created a new form asking her to repay us in full and provide $200 worth of prints of the pictures that were provided and 2 large canvas prints. She agreed to the new contract, but it was hard for us to order prints given the limited number of pictures we could choose from. In fact, I had to use a picture of my dog for one the canvases, because there were so little shots to choose from. My advice to other brides is to not hire Stephanie Haller. Other than being flaky and unresponsive, we thought she was a nice enough person and we got along with her well at first. She obviously is capable of good work, but are you willing to take such a big chance with such an important day? I was told by Stephanie that I was not the only wedding that was affected. We had a beautiful wedding and we wish so much to have something to show for it.
As a vendor, I have so much to say as I promote photography and using a professional..You are right, there is nothing to bring these pictures back. Obviously you had friends take some right? I don't agree withe her sharing you were not the only one..Honestly, that is her issue not yours. She did/will give a refund, but that again brings you nothing compared to what you wanted in return..It's hard to say it was the web portal where you found her. I dislike Wedding Wire for many reasons I am a paying vendor...Maybe she was fabulous until something happened and she blew it...WW is not a "Verified" site and doesn't take responsibility for 3rd party info etc..That is horrible enough...and yes they do protect those who pay which again is just pathetic. Do you theink WW is a scam or do you think they only care of who pays them? I had this happen to me with my husbands 40th. I hired someone for photos- they kept telling me, we need to make an album etc it was a few months then a year- I said I have to get this done...well...it never happened. The worst part, she was a bride of mine and never even responded if they were lost - worst part my husband then used her for mine..Its been 10 years since my 40the and still no return calls even to say she fcked up and lost them something..I have nothing to remember mine except for friends she ignored my emails even begging her to pls tell me if they are lost something?...As a wedding vendor, I would not want someone to blast me on any portal I would do whatever I could to ensure we solved something..Vendors are getting smarter and making contracts against the after-math..I agree there has to be a better way of sharing feedback..In your case, because she was not honest, ignored calls and feedback when you spoke, I would have blasted her based on fact...The contract only states that you cannot be defamatory in nature...Being factual is NOT defamatory and you have her info in writing saying she screwed up...rating her based on service is OK..if you say she was not compliant with answers and was dishonest for a while that is fact...You should most definitely share the experience and what was handled in an inappropriate manner..It doesn't matter of what's on her site, the fact is, she lost something valuable to you...granted if something happened she should have had a backup every photographer I know, has backup on a hard drive drop box etc..Sounds a bit odd she did not have this done. You have the right as the consumer to express your issue in a mature and factual manner. You seem like a gem and don't want to get vicious. I commend you on not taking that route. I can share that even through you signed an agreement, as long as you stick with the facts no adjectives no libelous info..You won't be in breach. If I could just say one thing, You have already celebrated your first year congrats..If I were you, I would make her give you a renewal of vows and ensure you get to revisit that special day on-top of thee refund. Actually I would have her pay for a re- wedding :) I would not hire her...esp for making you sign something...which TG you had legal on board. If listing this makes you feel better, do it..but constructively and after you settle :) I am truly sorry theirs happened, but very proud of you for not taking the pit-bull approach...your like a kitten and she should be counting her lucky stars on this one.
Lied about Leads and Fake Emails
For several years the Weddingwire.com has essentially been ripping people off by charging us every month for services that don’t delivered. As business owners the economy is very bad for all of us and they don’t a dam about. We need to do something about it; they are very expensive why paying for monthly Seminars any dummy people can do those themselves. It is time for Weddingwire to stop taking advantage of the vendors and we can breach their contract any time because they don’t delivered whatever they promise to us. The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I'm getting contacts but when I respond to them nothing ever gets returned. Not a single lead is legit. They are all Gmail accounts and half don't even get read according to their tracker. Some really shady stuff going on at wedding wire I'm afraid. There needs to be an investigation into them.
Just cancelled my account with them. The rep was saying " why? You've had 84 leads in 1 year" With 0 booking or even single reply. They also very creative with those weird bride names ;-) Total scam.
When I tried to review them, my reviews were &disputed& both times
Agree. It's a scam. Only glowingly positive reviews get posted. I never would have booked my invitation printer or my venue save for the reviews on their site and both were disasters. When I tried to review them, my reviews were "disputed" both times. You're allowed to have an opinion...just not an honest one.
