bad business practices
Wells Fargo contacted me about refinancing my loan to get a better interest rate. Since I had paid off 2 other houses with them and have excellent credit I told them as long as it was a simple process I would agree. The next day I went to my bank and got a cashiers check for $20, 000.00 and took it to a branch to pay down on my principle. About 2 hrs later a loan officer called and asked me where I got the money for the cashiers check, I told her it was from my money market account and the proceeds from a sale of commercial property, not that it is any of their business. She told me unless I provided her with a statement from my money market account and proof of the sale I could not proceed, so I said ok we will not proceed. I went straight back to the bank to get my cashiers check back and they refused. They said they don't refund money! I will never do business with Wells Fargo again and am shopping for a new company to refi with.
If you read it correctly I said I paid $20, 000. down on my principal.
If that had been put to me that way it would have been different. The fact that I paid off 2 houses has nothing to do with this issue. I did not say I walked away from $20, 000, it was applied to my principle, and whether or not you believe me is of no importance to me.

lost deposit
Wells Fargo is a far cry from what Wachovia used too be. Since the change of name the service quality I used to receive is the worst ever. The latest is I made a deposit at a branch before 2 p.m. and two day later I found out it was not credited to my account! They lost the DEPOSIT. Do you hear me THEY LOST THE DEPOSITTTTT. It will take 5 days (at their leisure) to find out what happened to MY MONEY! They told me that if I indeed made a deposit I have nothing to worry about. Really what about my bills! They told me that is my PROBLEM! I am moving to another bank!

bad business practices
I purchased a vehicle in March of 2009 using financing from Wachovia Dealer Service. Wells Fargo bought them out about 4 months ago. I lost my Job in July of 2009 and was still making payments up to Nov 2009. I found a Job in Nov but got injured 2 weeks on the job and have been in Disability to this date. I called the bank to tell them what had happened to me and to see if they could reduce the interest of 19.99 to help lower the payment as workers comp doesnt pay much. They stated they could not help me at all unless i make 12 payments first and have a full time job making a certain amount. They stated that even then they may not be able to help. I know banks can reduce rates and help as long as u make the minimum reduced payment amount. I fell behind a couple months and still trying to get the bank to help but nothing. I was willing to at least make the principle amount but they dont care. The manager said i was threating her by trying to tell her its BS that they cant lower my interst and she hung up on me. The Repo guy was at my door the next day. Wells Fargo left me with no car now and i have to get around to doctor and around town on Crutches. So nice of us Tax payers to bail them out of their mistakes for the housing problems but they cant help consumers when in need. Do not get a loan with Wells Fargo unless you have the money to pay them back fast and you dont lose your job or get hurt.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
that dis not necessarily true, maybe a credit card that you have with a bank can consider lowering your interest rate, but that is not always true when it comes to a CONTRACT, the only way to change the APR, PAYMENT AMNT, PERSONS ON LOAN (ADD OR REMOVE) is to refinance...Refinancing involves a credit application that is subject to approval.
do not go through wells fargo
Wells fargo is the worst place to get a reno loan! Whatever you do.. Do not go with wells fargo! It took us over 6 months to close because it seemed like the people working for them would never get their paperwork done. They also told us the day before we close that we would need to bring around $9, 000 to closing. However closing day morning for some reason they asked for our most recent savings account statement - even though they didn't need this to finalize us to close. Two hours before closing we got a letter saying we needed to bring $19, 237 to closing - the exact amount that was in our savings. Of course they had some excuse to back themsevles up however we were never made aware of it until 2 hours before closing.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
OH my gosh, are you going thru the Harp refinance program? because we also have been waiting 6 months and have had the same experience and we were told we only had to pay like 3000 dollars for closing which would be added to our mortgage so we didn't actually have to pay it. Please right back and let me know if you read this thanks
screwing again!!!
They have been screwing me for over a year now – in November they told me I owed them $5, 400 within three weeks or foreclosure would begin. I was ONE payment behind, about $3, 000 in late fees and the rest was when they screwed me on the loan modification that I declined (it ended up being a higher interest rate and was no help to me at all). I came up with the money borrowing from 401K, mom and gave them everything I had. I had mailed them (electronically) $1, 000 about 4 times and then a $1, 400 payment. (The whole year or more, they were marking me as 3 months late on my credit report, which in fact, I was only one month late)
Okay, NOW they say I am negative $550 in escrow. They took one of my $1, 000 payments, and added it to escrow, taking me out of the negative and now have a positive escrow balance of over $450. They say that I am again one payment behind which means they will report to the credit agency a 30-day late. Of course, they were supposed to put all of that towards my principal balance, they said nothing about Escrow. I think i may contact a lawyer!
Wells Fargo is a bad place. I have been scammed by them as well. They are a very unprofessional bank and clearly from the ground up are not very smart. Thats why they are governed by the OCC which is a federal bureau.
unauthhorized closure of retirement account
Due to an error by Wachovia Bank in January 2010, my IRA CD in the amount of $110, 000 was closed without my authorization, either oral or written, and the dollar amount shifted to a taxable CD. An incomprehensibly vague letter was sent by Wachovia in the last quarter of 2009. After speaking to an employee of Wachovia, I was assured no further action was necessary.
Since this entire amount will be designated taxable by the IRS for the 2010 tax year, our taxes, both Federal and State, will be astronomical. My husband and I are retirees on a fixed income and cannot afford such a hefty tax burden.
I feel that Wells Fargo, as the successor to Wachovia, should change the coding on this account to reflect that funds were held in a retirement account throughout 2010 and not generate a 1099 form.
I have spent countless hours over the past several months working with Wells Fargo attempting to remedy this situation and have been stonewalled at every turn.

made payment but took car away
As with a lot of people around the country, I am having some financial difficulties. Got behind on my car loan payments. Received a phone call stating that the car would be repossessed if they did not receive my current late payments (totaling just a little over $1, 000) by 5:00PM. Was able to borrow the money and wired the payment to Wells Fargo. As I am sitting in my car waiting on hold to speak with an account manager, Repo man comes in and hooks my car up to his truck. Finally got on the phone with the agent and gives them confirmation that the payment was sent but tells me that there is nothing they can do as the Repo company already has my car hooked up. Superior manager happens to be out of the office and I cannot speak with someone until tomorrow. I'm not blaming anyone about being late as it is my responsibility to make sure that I make my payments on time but why would they tell me that I have up until 5:00PM to make the payment before a repo man is sent out to retrieve the car. I was also told after the car had been taken away that my situation would have to be reviewed by a manager to see if I can even retrieve the car.

i am also a Wells Fargo customer with an auto loan thats only one month past due. If they really want to take my car after I have called the account manager over and over trying to make arrangements to pay over a two week period to catch up on payments, let em do it! I'll gladly sue them for all i can get for ruining my freaking credit! Someone really needs to make an example out of these fools. I HATE people who try to muscle others for money...
OMG! I am so sorry for your loss, because if you are anything like me, they just took away your very means of getting to work. It is absolutely disgusting that they pull this crap on people, and invetibly on the holidays
Like they are not stressfull enough! I feel your pain. I hope you check back on this board as I could realy use some help.
I became unemployed for the first time in twelve years a year ago this Feb and I have been financing my car through them as well. It is appalling that they would take your car right before the holidays, but I am curious
how late you were, what year the car is, and how long you have been financing the car with them? Were you a full 60+ days out or only at say, 45?
I ask because I am constantly harrassed if I am over thirty days late (which I have been most of those unemployed months) and I have been financing the car for three years without ever missing a payment (although,
as mentioned, I have been perpetually late for a few months), however I am constantly terrified that my car will be gone in the morning.
I am constantly scared of losing my car, and I am hoping you can help me figure out the repo boundaries that I do not want to cross, and which, unfortunately (and due to some obvious corp lies) you happened upon yourself.
I am extremely interested in the outcome of your story, ie: did they give you your PAID for car back? How many darn hoops did they make you jump through for it? I hope you have full legal recourse, and I hope you receive
Your vehicle back in a fairly cheap and timely manner.
fraudulent bank practices
on 12/02/10 i brought 2 business checks into wells fargo silverton branch for deposit to
business checking account. one [protected]@ $680.00, the other @ $161.89 total: $841.89 for which i gave deposit slip plus 2 checks to teller, she ran them through micka machine then
tapped on her computer keys and a deposit slip spit out. i stapled deposit slip to my yellow deposit copy at bank window. 8 days later in mail i get notice from wells that they took $680.00 from business checking account for "trns. adj." i immediately called bank and was told i never presented check to teller. i KNEW i gave the check, because it was larger than usual check and i saw that check being processed. there is no way teller could mistake 1 check for 2, and a total of deposit @ $841.89 for $161.89. besides, she ran checks through processing in order for deposit slip to spit out. bank is now making me "prove" i gave check, whilst bounced check charges increase daily and i am terrified to deposit any more money. meanwhile i opened 4 investigations, and all i hear is: your deposit receipt from bank is not a valid receipt for what you deposited, or: "they" are investigating it" and branch mgr. says "he" can do nothing, and investigator who called (one out of 4) said she can't do anything only branch mgr. can. he refuses to look at bank video tape or micka machine data, instead telling me 1-5 days, then 10-20 days then 3-5 days. it is now 12.21, and i can't mail out bills which are accumulating fines, late charges and i am more stressed by day.
thank you for correcting me here. jstone

home policy cancelation
We recieved a letter yesterday from our home policy company if they don't recieve a payment by christmas day(5 days away) they will cancel our policy. After investigating the past 12 months of payment statements, we discovered the Wells Fargo escrow department sent a payment to the home policy company a few months ago but it was not correct. We now have to come up with $239 to pay or be without insurance. I know Wells Fargo is going to get a really mad phone call tomorrow. I never had any problems with Wachovia. It's a shame they were turned over to Wells Fargo thru no fault of our own. I'm gonna pay the $239 to make sure we don't lose our insurance. Right now my hubby and I are not going to buy presents for each other. I also noticed on our last statement they haven't paid my county taxes like Wachovia did every November. Thank you Wells Fargo for trying to get us to lose our house.
Sadly, you cannot assume the mortgage company will pay things correctly. Errors are often made. It's best to check periodically that the taxes/insurance are being paid correctly over the year, it's what I've learned to do when errors were made on my mortgage as well.
ballon payment on auto loan
I have car loan with Wells Fargo and my maturity date was September 2010. Wells Fargo said that they give me an extention back in 2008. Now they tell me I owe them a ballon payment of 1648.89 with 18.49% interest compounded daily and am 81days past due.Which I have been making a payment monthly. I tried to my arrangements for three payments. I was told to...
Read full review of Wells Fargo and 1 commentwells fargo holding my mortgage hostage
Never use Wells Fargo to obtain your mortgage. I had been a loyal customer for over 10 years with excellent credit (over 800) and have never missed a payment. I have referred customers to Wells Fargo in the past, but after my recent experiences I will never again. After purchasing another apartment in nyc several years ago with an interest rate of 5.75% I had the opportuinity to refinance approximately 2 years ago. It took months for the process to get completed only for Wells Fargo to come back and say that my coop did not have the required amount of insurance to qualify my loan for refinancing. Firstly, I already had my loan with Wells Fargo so what risk were they taking by refinancing my loan? Secondly, no other bank appeared to have any issues with refinancing loans in my coop. The only reason I can think of is that it was purely a business decision to keep me paying at a higher rate. Since that experience I decided recently to refinance at HSBC given I did not want to pay a bunch of fees like I had previously only to get my refinancing rejected by Wells Fargo. It has been close to 3 months and I have still not been able to refinance and my rate lock has expired. The reason? Because Wells Fargo is still waiting for papers from their warehouse to release my loan. Absolutely f'ing incredible. In short, never use Wells Fargo. Your experience will be horrible getting a loan from them and will be even more painful if you decide to refinance your mortgage in the future with another bank.

Oddly i have been trying to streamline an existing FHA loan w/ them...they dragged their feet so long the FHA insurance rate has sky rocketed so my savings has gone fron $150.00ish to $97/ mo ! They keep telling me the appraisal is going to expire ! FUNNY thing there is NO appraisal on a streamline ! I could have gone to People'sBank back in November..but i remained loyal and got screwed due to the lack of competency apparently in the underwriting dept. Then again got a call just last night wanting all my documents from Sept..which are in my file ! WT hck is wrong w/ these people ?
overdraft protection
I was a Wachovia customer, happy enough truthfully no complaints. I have an overdraft protection on my checking account, this way if I overdraw the overdraft protection kicks in. For many many years I have had this, if I knew I was running into issues, I would transfer money from my overdraft protection to cover checks, usually would only need it for a few days and then I would transfer it back and pay the overdraft account back. The fee for this was $10.00, if I did not pay back within a few days I would be charged similar to a credit card a percentage rate per day, so it made sense to me to pay it back within a few days. Now that Wachovia is now Wells Fargo I continued to work with my bank account in the same manner, I would transfer money when I thought there would be an issue and transfer it back within days. Wells Fargo all of a sudden now considers this a cash advance with a $250.00 fee to do so. When I called to complain I was told I was informed of this and nothing can or would be done. I had the money overdraft protection money for two days and then it was paid back, they didn't care and when I told them I would move to another bank they didn't care about this either. Once I use up my checks that I just paid for I will definitely move to another bank, who wants to do business with thieves!
Respect is not what I have received from psu, I guess this is what I get for trying to help and inform, next time I won't bother.
Hey Brenda when I see idiots like psguy58 WHAT CAN YOU DO!
Yet again NO LIFE! you are truly sad. Why would I post incorrect info, for what reason, and who has time? I wonder if its your job at Wells Fargo to comment on customers posts to stop the hundreds of posts hundreds of customers are posting?Hmmmm psguy58 your comments are a little suspect.
Yes...No mention of the above stated, infact I have it here in front of me right now its ten pages long and I had the fun of reading that. Thats the point of the post@! THEY DID NOT INFORM CUSTOMERS OF THIS CHANGE! DON'T YOU THINK I INVESTIGATED THIS BEFORE I CALLED THEM!
Wells Fargo did not inform their customers of this change by law they are required. Yet again you are missing the point of the post. If you stop worrying about others finances you will be able to see the point of the post clearly. I didn't ask for anyone's opinion just a post to inform, and what better way to INFORM than on a public site. Please note that others don't care about how I manage my accounts just YOU...Hmmmmm maybe they have a LIFE
How I manage my account is my business, what I wanted all to know was the recent change that Wells Fargo implemented so that others don't fall into this scam. Not a lecture on managing my finances. So try really hard to understand why people post, its to help others not fall for the same pitfalls, no one asked you for your opinion on how accounts are managed. Go get a life!
Some times life is just not that easy...don't be so naive.

You're too lazy to repeat your complaint? Then it isn't important enough for me to click around for. Go back to your complaint and wait for someone to comment there
What does paying bills have to do with anything? There were transactions deep within the system that I never made. So what does that say about the company? Thieves.
Pay your bills, and you can occupy your own life. Looks to me like you should be more worried about who will protect you from yourself.
Where is our protection from these animals?
I think the Government should investigate the business practice of Wells Fargo. They are liers, thieves and their auto loan department is filled with young punks who enjoy being bullies. They have caused a disasterious situation in my home & now trying to rtepo my car. I originally secured my auto loan with Wachovia and do not believe I must abide with a bunch of new rules that I never received any information for. They say they sent me notification that if I didn't catch up on my auto payments they would take my car. I never received any notification, they are liers. Someone should take charge of this awful situation that so many people are expierencing. Maybe we should start OWF " Occupy Wells Fargo"
Well if you read my complaint you will see why I am so angry. I don't feel like typing it here. I'm about to post another complaint with some info I learned yesterday when I talked to the manager.
Don't listen to the other ignorant twits lol. I know EXACTLY what you mean. The bank was good when it was Wachovia and now its just crap. That's why I'm closing my account today.
Wells Fargo has f**ed up policies period! They are money grubbing, greedy vultures who feed off of the naivety of others in hopes of not getting caught. Wachovia wasn't perfect but they understood customer service. This whole bank transfer and bill pay scam is proof positive of this. Now you have to have money in your account 3-4 days BEFORE the bill is due, so if you had your bills set to pay the day of your payday or a day afterward, they are going to pull this money from your savings account for EACH TRANSFER. Which means, electric ($10), gas ($10), phone ($10), insurance ($10), mortgage ($10) etc... could end up costing you quite a bit of dough, and they think this is somehow okay... I think I should burn their f*cking building down too, but that doesn't mean it's okay... right?
First of all, all banks are a bunch of money grubbing thieves. The government bailed these jerk offs out and now they won't lend money to anyone. Not to mention they seem to have plenty of money for big remodels and such. Anyone who takes the banks side is a complete ### in need of a overhaul to the brain.
if you have a bbt bank bye you you will have no problem
online banking
Think twice before you start or continue using wells fargo bank. I was a happy wachovia customer, how got sold to wells fargo bank.In the last month there has been a new weekly problem with them. My biggest problem is that wells fargo has decided that my mother's accounts and my accounts should be lumped all together as one. I complained and told the problem was fixed. Found out it was not when they started taking money for my bills out of my mother's accounts. Again told it fixed and again found it is not. When you call and complain they do not help and after a couple of times refuse to talk with the customer instead of fixing problem. Even though I have plenty of money in my accounts wells fargo has decided when and how I can spend my money. My son tried to move money on line from his accounts and found that it would not work, he talked to wells fargo representatives who told him even though it was available on screen it does not work. A week later he found that wells fargo took the money out of his checking, decided it would not work, so put the money back into his savings, causing him a overdraft problem. They then charged his $30 due to their mistake and refused to give him his money back! Wells fargo on-line banking is a major problem. It is bad. I can promise you that you need to stay away from wells fargo bank, if you do not I can promise you that you will regret dealing with wells fargo.

taking money from my account
These people have been taking money from my account steady for the last three years or more. I could not get a hold of them, no matter how much I tried. I did not know anything about them, and my bank would not help me. I called my bank this morning and that is how I found out that Wells Fargo was collecting for Huntington National Bank. The lady gave me an account number and everything. It all has something to do with credit cards, I don't have any. I was trying to see if I could find out anything more about them online, but I keep getting sites like this one. They do not have a contact phone number. I am going to contact a lawyer after I call the Huntington Bank. This is all rediculous. I am also going to contact the Preident, because he signed a bill to stop people like this from harrassing you. I hope everyone has gotten the money they have lost and to also have a good day.

fees and charged to disabled veteran
I am a disable veteran, honorable discharge after 21 years of service.
I cannot write or keep a bank ledger and was told by the staff at the wells fargo branch in payson, az to use wells fargo online to keep track of my accounts. I have been a customer of wells fargo since 1996.
On dec 6, 2010, around 6:30am, when I checked my online account information my account was in the black. On dec 7, 2010, around 6:15am I checked my online account and saw that I was over draft but no charge or fee had been accessed.
On dec 7, 2010, between 7:00 am and 11:00am I made three deposits into my account to more then cover the mistake.
On dec 7, 2010, at 2:02pm wells fargo charged my account an over draft fee of $35.00 even after the corrected deposits were made to fix my mistake.
Between 2:30 and 3:30pm, dec 7, 2010, every telephone call to wells fargo was met with cold and heartless telephone bank employees that refused to remove the $35.00 fee even after it was explained that I was following wells fargo’s own directions and advice for keeping track of my account due to my disability.
Wells fargo bank offered no compassion or understanding and did not seem to care that if they do not remove this unfair charge that they will loss a long standing customer. Even though the customer tried to correct his own mistake following the direction of the local branch in payson, arizona.
I will not bank with a greedy and cold hearted bank and I would ask that other people see how cold hearted wells fargo bank really is and withdraw all their funds from any accounts they have with wells fargo or when they make a simple mistake they will witness first hand the cold hearts and lack of compassion I have suffered today.

rip off specialists
We were courted by wells fargo financial. We took out the very high interest loan as a temporary "band-aid" loan to help get me through college.
Trying to make the most of it, we made extra principle payments. They never applied the funds to principle. They made them to interest! I called several times and it was never explained well or adjustments made.
When we re-financed our loan away from them they gave the closing agent a pay-off quote then sent the check back and required us to pay an additional $1600 in order to close our account with them.
When we tried to call them I spent 153 minutes on hold... They never answered.
Stay away from this rip-off and unethical company!
put a levy on unemployment
Wachovia placed a levy on my unemployment funds. Then they bounced a check that came through and charged me another 35.00. Then the business i wrote the check to charged me 37.00 for the check. The courts did release the funds back to me that were being held by the levy stating STATE LAW cannot levy unemployment funds which i provided proof to the courts that the funds were unemployment funds. They did have the bank release the funds back to me but Wachovia decided to keep 100 for processing fees. I still had to pay the bounced check fees to the business i wrote the check to. The only people that kept the money was Wachovia and that is ILLEGAL.

denial of fraud claim with proof given
Dear Ma’am or Sir:
I am pleading to anyone to hear and to help me correct our accounts. On numerous previous dates, I notified my Wachovia bank branch and have been working with the Wachovia Bank fraud Dept (numerous other Departments as well) by telephone that the credit cards issued to me and my cousin (Edward Humphrey) had been compromised. Our statements show unauthorized transactions charged to our cards after I reported it. When I call to inquire about a resolution, I am told that there is no record of my reporting unauthorized transactions. This is the most illogical and puzzling aspect of reporting suspicious transactions and being told I must go to my branch, file a police report, and have my bank representative assist me. This created a loop that had no end. Thankfully, I did keep notes.
We have banked with what we call my Wachovia since 1984. We also were patient as my Wachovia weathered through the economic problems they were experiencing and we still have faith that we will be heard and my Wachovia will do the right thing. Our branch was also aware of my disability and that Ed was legally allowed access to all accounts. Our personal and medical information is necessary to address because unethical villains (employees of Wachovia Bank ) mentioned or made sensational comments that we should have received a settlement from my mother’s death and my medical history “does not sound so terminal” since I was still alive. Therefore, you will see some medical information attached in a previous document to show these cold-hearted villains proof.
I called the respective companies on, 28 Jan 2010, and was treated for the most part very respectfully. A hero with my Wachovia named Latasha Sally (5+) spent a long time checking my account and discovered that I indeed did have disputes and she could not find any reimbursement to my checking account from CIT finance. She connected me with her supervisor after being so kind and thoughtful, so I could inform her supervisor I had a grading system of bad service =one, and the best service being a five. Afterwards I was connected to a “dispute representative, ” a male who did not give his name. He was very arrogant and informed me that since there was no dispute claim within the past 90 days, so I had no case. He then informed me “that state governmental representatives had no jurisdiction on the bank” and if I wanted reimbursed, I would have to file a small claims court suit against CIT. I discovered that CIT was getting money without my approval since my health insurance was supposed to pay them. Each time I called and stressed this issue, I was told the money would be credited-there is no record of reversal or credit to this day and CIT was paid with refusing to refund money stating this was “the bank’s matter.”
I recently had my cousin and a friend read my mail and email, and when I was told that information was requested no later than January 31, 2010, from Ms. Mynah. This is the female employee I was transferred to by phone with fraud and she was helpful, kind, and seemed to care, so I have come full circle with my issues. After hearing this and told the date of the letter was January 21, 2010, with the postal date of February 4, 2010. I sat on the floor and just sobbed due to the feeling of not being understood, treated poorly, and called essentially a liar since “no records of my account had even the word of fraud in them.” Now the first hero I had at Wachovia sent me a illegible form with yellow highlighted areas to fill out, as if I were stupid. I AM NOT STUPID, I AM BLIND. As I stated earlier, I already filled out the forms required (see first sentence in this paragraph) about 4 times and now I have to do this again?
I was injured at work a couple of times from [protected], after working in the medical field since 1976. I loved my job as a bedside nurse in neurological and cardiologic intensive care. However, after a permanent injury, I had to find another area in nursing that could accommodate my disability without danger to me or another person. This meant going back to school to obtain a higher degree to teach nursing. My disability payments were incredibly smaller than what I made working bedside, however, I was able to pay all bills on time. I noticed some questionable activity on my ledger that did not match my Wachovia’s, from October 2007 to December 2007. I was told this was not a problem.
When we got home briefly in May 2008, after my mom and a niece passing away, we had numerous phone messages that no payment was received from creditors. Checking the bank ledger revealed numerous cash withdrawals from credit cards when I never use “credit cards” for cash at a higher interest rate. The bank ledger also listed charges not made by us. Then the ultimate surprise was that the bank ledger listed payments posted to our bill collectors but the bill collectors claim no payment had been received. I had to call all accounts individually, discuss the issues I found, and to cancel the cards immediately. Each account representative informed me that the proper procedure prior to claiming fraud was to check each transaction and dispute it. When this has been completed for all accounts, then fraud claims could be addressed. I disputed claims and was humbled because each time I sent the dispute form in by fax, no one called to inform me that I had not filled the form out properly-this added to the time factor of prompt reporting. When I noticed the bank ledger had completed no reversal, I called the respective department and was then told that the form was not completed accurately. The stress and my nerves were incredibly brittle. I continued filling out the forms until I got them correct. Latasha was able to find these documents easily and I took confirmed appropriate action.
I was told that my insurance on the Prime Equity Loan had been cancelled in May 2009. We both searched to see if there was ever insurance on our charge cards, but could not find any insurance on them. Therefore, I was advised that my insurance should help me out. When I ask about this now, the subject changes and I am told to send information documented with my health history changes.
I fell and hit my head with severe injury to my neck and became blind in October 2009. This has really been hard for me and now even after hopeful surgery, we will not know if my vision will come back permanently. In addition to the visual impairment, I now have additional irreparable neurological challenges affecting the use of my left arm from the neck injuries stemming from that fall. I did speak with another hero- one of this person’s supervisors- Ms. Proctor, who helped me months earlier and explained my current condition with her speaking with Ed to write some contact numbers down. Despite some cold-hearted people, I included some documentation to show some proof of my condition in a prior document with my notes.
Discovercard has also been affected similarly after getting the information from a payment and they have refused to initiate a fraud investigation based on Wachovia’s findings. Discovercard also cancelled my insurance on that account. I know if I had been taken seriously at the onset by “my Wachovia”, then collectively we all could have stopped any further action of “stealing” including my cousin’s and my savings account. I also would not know about Bankcard Services nor even have new cards with compromised cards cancelled which proves my calling the bank. This means that I did contact the bank in a timely manner, the people I dealt with just did not put the pieces together, and I have had to endure a horrible experience. I am not the only person treated this way as I told of my observing the treatment of a poor elder man’s treatment in an earlier letter. With all the people unemployed or those that have a higher degree, why do these villains still work for the company and justify a bonus?
The government has determined that I must be very disabled or have a life-limiting illness to receive Medicaid. What gives Wachovia’s representatives the right to judge and make such ignorant and hurtful statements in regards to my health? Believe me, with all my education, my professional experience (which by the way I have paid and continue to pay taxes as well) and my health situation, to be receiving Medicaid is not by choice, however; a necessity. Prior to my injuries, I used to work 80+ hours a week as a Professional Registered Nurse caring for others in their time of need. With all my checks/income deposited in my Wachovia for over 20+ years, I would have expected much better response to this obvious security breech
to my accounts after such loyalty on my end. Instead, I have been treated as though I am asking for a hand out for what is rightfully mine. I am asking for the return of the money and restoration of my credit. All that was stolen from my accounts, the breech, along with the long lag-time without appropriate action on Wachovia’s part has adversely affected my good credit. I believe that it is now time for my Wachovia to take some responsibility in protecting their customer’s accounts and rectifying their (Wachovia) mistakes when a breech has occurred. In my case, this should have happened at the onset. I would also like to know if my Wachovia is in fact unaffected by state representatives.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Billy W Childress Jr.

I closed my account for some of the same reason. to many extra charges
lies, cover up, and more lies
I got a 203K home loan through WF. It has been a nightmare from day one! My real estate agent, lawyer, and contractor had NEVER experienced such a difficult and lengthy closing. I closed over a month later than promised. After we got the "clear to close", they decided they still needed more information. At first I was told I would have 6 months to complete my project but after I closed I was told 3 months and the paperwork I signed ended up saying 4 months. I guess that part was my own "bad" because I probably should have read everything more thoroughly. Well, it took over 2 weeks to get the initial portion of the money I was supposed to get at my closing, they never gave me my second installment and now I got a letter saying that I did not follow the terms of the loan and they will foreclose on me. I am beyond frustrated with the rude, disrespectful, and anything but helpful disbursement specialists who seemingly go out of their way to make things harder. When you're renovating your first home, you need support. Not people making things more difficult. I asked to work with a more respectful agent and got no where. They have made so many mistakes and so many aspects of this process have "slipped through the cracks" and been covered up, its ridiculous. I would NEVER recommend working with WF. An employee of WF told me she refers her friends and family elsewhere due to the practices she has witnessed.

cashier's check - security bond
I sold my car to a private party and received a cashier's check for $13, 000 drawn on a Wells Fargo account. Before the check could be deposited (within 2 hours) it was lost. I immediately notified the buyer (who has the account at Wells Fargo) and he immediately notified Wells Fargo (within 4 hours) The two of us went to Wells Fargo to discuss the situation with the bank manager. This is where my saga begins.
We were told that the buyer (I'll call him Joe) could purchase a security bond at Wells Fargo (WF) for 2% of the check value ($262) and WF would immediately reissue the check. "The Hartford" is the institution issuing the security bond. Joe needed to acquire the security bond since he had the account at WF. I paid $262 to Joe (after all, it was my fault) and he filled out paperwork and purchased the bond.
Several days passed. No word from anyone. I asked Joe about the status. Joe became alarmed when he studied the fine print from the Hartford regarding the bond. He freaked out when he interpreted the verbiage to say the HE was liable for the $13, 000 if the lost check was cashed. This is not what we were told by WF.
Joe and I went to another WF branch (where I have more confidence) and asked the questions. The personal banking representaive was helpful, knowledgeable and very attentive...even though this wasn't 'his' problem. Although he was careful not to step on toes of the first WF bank, the loan officer had the personal opinion that the check should have been reissued by now and that the security bond protected Joe in cash the lost check was cashed. He checked and discovered that the $13, 000 check had NOT been reissued and the the $262 payment for the security bond had NOT been cashed. We had received no information from the originating WF branch. Joe was not satisfied and kept pushing and asking to see written documents that explained liability in cash the lost check was cashed. The 'good' WF branch also determined that a 'do not pay' order had been issued for the lost check.
At the bottom of the paperwork was a contact phone number for the Hartford and I called them. (what a novel idea :-) )O ONE at WF had contacted the Hartford for clarification or for information on paperwork required, review and approval criteria or how the process worked.
These are the FACTS that I discovered -- and are contradictory to the information we were given by WF. Via the Hartford's phone number, there was a recorded message with an detailed description of the steps that needed to be followed. Apparently WF was unaware.
1) The security bond protects WF, not Joe. 2) The security bond enables WF to cut another check quickly, thats ALL IT DOES. However if the first, lost check, is found and cashed, Joe is liable for reimbursing WF The $262 payment allows the new check to be issued-- nothing more. 3) the Paperwork to request the security bond should have included Joe's financial statement (it did not). The Hartford requires Joe to have 2x the value of the security bond in his account for them to 'authorize' the bond. He does not so the Hartford would have never approved the security bond. 4) the paperwork should have been faxed to the Hartford for an immediate decision -- THEN, if approved, we would pay the $262.00. (it was sent hardcopy mail). 4) The Hartford's representative called me and explained the process. (Thank you) Apparently Joe is liable to WF for the 'lost check' for a specified period of time -- one person said 90 days another said 6 months. (I need to get accurate information on this.) ANYONE can purchase the security bond -- not only the person with the account at WF or the person who initiated the first check...and a number of institutions offer them. The only true requirement is that WF accept it.
So, after two weeks and a lot of frustration, I am back at square one and have absolutely no confidence in any information from WF. I have the choice of spending $262 to get a check reissued, but Joe is liable for the $13000 for a period of time. WF has issued a 'do not pay' notice for the lost check -- but they guarantee nothing. Apparently they don't believe in their own processes.
SO, the bottom line is this -- sweet and simple. If you lose a cashier's check you can consider the money lost until some unknown time-frame passes. Even though a 'do not pay' notice is issued by the bank, even though you purchase a security bond, and even though you can get a new check issues within a few days/weeks. ...you cannot be sure that the lost check is truly dead for a long time.
Now I need to find out what is needed to cause the check to be reissued after the unknown time period passes. Please pray for me in getting accurate information from Wells Fargo.
And, yes, I've learned my lesson about being careless. And, yes, I am thankful that it is possible that I might be able to recover the money.

Over 6 months ago I gave a certified check to a property management company for the house we were suppose to rent ! Our move in date was July 1 but the township has failed the inspection 3 times due to outlets not working properly and each inspection same things failed and the central air broke and no one came out to fix and temperatures were in the high 90s, some days temp reached 110' in the house causing a pipe to burst, soaking 4300 sq feet of house with water. The ceilings collapse, walls warped and light fixtures fell to floor and the doors expanded sealing them shut and garage door opener blew up, leaving 2 huge doors unable to be opened, let's not forget the $15, 000.00 in brand new furniture that had to be delivered because it was 3 weeks after move in date and store I bought from will no longer store it so they gave permission and so did township inspector to have it delivered and put in house before it passes inspection! Here we are 6 months later and still not able to move in due to same things failing inspection and central air unit still not fixed, now temperature falling below 30s so I'm expecting pipes to now freeze and going through more damage ! They were paid over $90, 000.00 for the insurance claim, for them to gut and rebuild everything that was damaged by water! They did not gut and replace everything they claimed was damaged, including the rugs that are still a little wet 6months later that caused mold to grow on doors, wall in bathroom not replaced from where pipe broke and water spraying at it for a week causing a hole in wall which is how the water was able to reach the entire house, nothing replaced in bathroom where the pipe broke and where 3 inches of water sat the longest, light fixtures we're not replaced and still dripping water on to the new white tile kitchen floor, which by the way was hardwood floors when agreeing to rent the house when I had to give them the large check! This tells me they committed a crime for insurance fraud! They gave insurance company the estimates written by companies that were suppose to do the work, but they hired guys to do half the work and only replacing some things and at a cheaper price and then pocketed most of the money ! So now I want my money back and need to find a different house
