SCAM
This company along with their product is nothing less than a scam. They trick you into a subscription for their product and when you get the surprise next shipment a month later you have already tried their product and realize that the product is horrible. It leaves your hair dirty and heavy. When you call to get a refund they tell you to ship it back...but it costs more to ship it back then the product is worth. They continue to charge you every couple of weeks and tell you that the return process takes 6 weeks...so that they can charge you more. When I called to complain...and was put on the phone with a manager named Shirley...she hung up on me purposely. DON'T BUT THIS PRODUCT...IT IS A HORRIBLE PRODUCT AND THE COMPLANY EXHIBTS BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES...THEY TRICK YOU INTO A SUBSCRIPTION BECAUSE IF THE PRODUCT HAD TO SELL ITSELF THEY WOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS ALREADY! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE OTHER THEN HANGING UP ON YOU AND CONTINUING TO CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD. THEY ARE THIEVES! BEWARE!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I hate wen
I have this product for about 3 weeks now. Well after a couple days of using it I started to get the biggest allergic reaction to it! My neck is full of red dots and my scalp is sooo itchy. Sure, maybe not everyone could be allergic to it; however, it DOES make your hair greasy and harder to work with. I can't even curl my hair right because of how gross my hair got. So I stopped using it for about a week and my hair got so much more better and looked prettier from the Dove Shampoo.
I agree. Wen definitely isn't for everyone. I found that my hair was greasy and unmanageable, even though I faithfully followed the instructions and video. I think that Wen is overpriced and overrated.
Bad product
Wen Hair Care makes your hair greasy. I am used to washing my hair every other day, which is what my stylists have encouraged me to do throughout my life, but with Wen you cannot even make it through a 12 hour period without your hair getting greasy. Furthermore, it did not make my hair look any better than Suave does and it adds about 10 minutes onto your shower time.
Furthermore, with every other product I have purchased that has automatic refills, the website has very clearly indicated that my card will be charged the next month. Wen does not.
Finally, with the refill "plan, " the company went from sending me a $30 package to sending me a $90 package without clearly indicating that it was doing so.
In conclusion, Chaz Dean is a bit of a crook who should never be allowed to touch anyone's hair again. He should also probably be sterilized so he is incapable of reproducing.
FULLY AGREE WHAT A SCAM ARTIST MAKING MILLIONS
Designed for wrong market
I have been using Wen for 3 weeks now; it's the worst hair "cleanser" I've ever used ! Not only does it seem to coat the hair (no matter how well I rinse) leaving it look dirty, but it doesn't really condition my colored hair (as advertised) either. The hair just looks dryer ! Putting extra on as a leave-in conditioner is just *** - hair just looks worse.
However, it works GREAT as a naturally-based dish detergent. Really cuts the grease (probably all that peppermint oil in it). No kidding. Try it, lol ! So at least it wasn't a complete waste of money.
Quite simple really. I ordered for my wife and they sent 1 order. After that they charged my 6 times in 1 month and sent nothing and will not return my money. The last person I talked to told me I was a sucker from buying from them and I should have read the internet reviews about Gunthy Reneker before I bought, then they hung up.
I thought Chaz Dean was a good soul but I guess it's not true as he is a part of the scam. Buyer should be aware! Run away from anything with Gunthy on it.
Okay so very annoying, I called to order the 30 day trial to see if I liked the product, you can only lock in the price if you join the membership hence you get sent more product every month.
I then ordered the 90 day supply and I was told that they were going ot charge my credit card $43 and then next month $29 and another $29 payment after that. Also the product takes 3-4weeks to arrive so I then used express mail which would get the product here within 5-7 days.
I checked my bank account and see that they charged my card $103.73 being the total amount for the 90 day product! When I called customer service they were so useless, they couldnt even find me on the system but yet the system charged my card. I was told that my card only gets charged when the product is shipped yet I was charged 2 hours (Sunday) after my order was placed. The order couldnt be adjusted or cancelled as they couldnt find me on the system! RIDICULOUS!
First off the piggyback off of publisher clearing house apearing to be one of the same second the make it seem like there layway is a system where you are paying a monthly bill like a credit card but once they get your first payment thats when they spring the old when payment is in full that when you will get your merchandise to me thats the same thing as a scam and iam going to my ag with this and believe me i will let as many on liners no to stay clear of your so called sweepstakes and any thing else that bears your stamp!
Purchased Wen in Oct 2017. Received initial order-fine. Had to call in Jan 2017 to see if I had another order coming. Received 2 bottles of shampoo, 1 condtioner and 1 hair balm, which they charged me extra for. So through March of 2017 they have charged me $207.73. That is all the product I have received. Have e-mailed them to complain, to no avail. I was able to cancel my account-thank goodness. Good product but too expensive for my tastes. They also told me they had sent out an order to me in March-which I have not received as of 4/11/2017. I hate being lied to!
I placed an order for wen on wed and just a few hours later had an emergency occur which caused me to cancel my order to have my money refunded. i was told that my cancellation was sent to a supervisor, well the next day i check my bank account to find out that my money had been refunded, so at this point i think everything is okay.well today is saturday and i go to withdraw money from my account to find that my account is in the negatives, because this company decides to withdraw my funds again and send me the product anyway.Wen's customer service has "no record" of me cancelling my order. so now i must wait 4-6 weeks for it to arrive then i have to go through all the trouble of sending it back, then i have to wait for them to recieve it in order for me to recieve my refund! I am so pissed off, these people dont know how to do their jobs correctly therefore causes everyone else to literally have to PAY for their mistakes!I have never heard of such CRAPPY customer service! Better Business Bureau will recieve my compaint.
Gloriab... It sounds like you were sold a 90 day supply the first time and then received a 90 day replenishment which is normal for the auto-ship program. Each 90-day shipment would be billed in 3 monthly payments with a shipping charge on one of the payments and the total cost for a 90-day supply is around $100.00. So, it doesn't sound like you were ripped off in this case, unless the salesperson didn't make it clear what you were buying.
I sold Guthy products for awhile. My customers always understood the auto-ship program and I never upsold to a 90-day supply without the customers understanding there were 3 monthly payments involved. Although, we were never able to match the sales of the folks in the foreign call center no matter how hard we tried. I would have to suspect it's only because they're deceptive at the time of the sale. There's really no other explanation. Sorry you had this experience. But, at least it looks like you did receive the products you paid for.
I TOO ORDERED ONLY ONE 30 DAY SUPPLY. OR SO I THOUGHT. CANCELED MEMBERSHIP ( WHICH I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF) BUT NOW HAVE TO PAY MORE TO SHIP IT BACK. PLUS ADDITIONAL FEES OUT OF MY POCKET FOR NEW CHARGES BECAUSE OF THEM. I WAS DUPED INTO MORE CHARGES I DID NO AUTHORIZE. SO BYE BYE WEN. THANKS FOR NOTHING. THE 30 DAY SUPPLY MAY NOT HAVE DONE ITS JOB BUT I CANNOT AFFORD MORE CHARGES AND TO BE LIED TO.
BOA will refund anyone's fees, I happen to agree with the previous posters. If your child support is routinely late you should not be writing checks for funds you do niť yet have. Especially considering checks are electronically drafted these days and your deposit has to be manually entered. I happen to know that BOAT deposits ACH on the day specified by the issuer as my checks have been direct de
posited on my payday every two weeks for two years now.
Filing a frivolous complaint based on your own irresponsiblesibility is exactly why you got trolled. I'm not always happy with BOA. But in this circumstance you were the one
at fault.
I had the same trouble with their mineral make-up system. They don't tell you on the commercial that they keep sending you crap every month and keep charging your credit card. Good luck trying to get a refund--it took me about 6 months of tracking my VISA and about half a dozen phone calls before I got my money back.
Call Chaz Dean Studio, in Hollywood, CA. He is the developer/owner/stylist for the product. I order mine directly from the studio and have never had a problem. Call them and complain. They should be able to resolve your issue or help you out.
Scam
I had my boyfriend buy me the 30 day supply of Wen for me for our anniversary. I tried the shampoo and it was terrible. It made my hair feel dirty like it didn't even clean my hair. I gave it two more tries and it still made my hair feel like it was never washed. Over a month later I got another Wen kit at my door. I thought it was a mistake or something because it didn't show up as charged on the credit card. Two days ago I got another kit. My boyfriend called the place and told them that we only did the 30 day supply and they told us we did the 90 day supply. I know for a fact that we only did the 30. They still ended up charging us and we ended up spending more to send the *** stuff back. Wen is a complete scam! Their products suck too!
I am very disappointed in the advertisement of the wen product. I purchased this product on the television through Gunthy Renker. I was told when I purchased this product that I would be getting a shipment every 30 days for the price of 29.95. When I didn't get my next shipment after 6 weeks I called and they told me that I would not be getting a shipment for 90 days. I cant imagine that this product could last 90 days as I have shoulder length hair and my supply last me 6 weeks. I used the exact amount of pumps that the bottle read. I have been trying now to get a refund and I have gotten no help. A very dissatisfied customer.
II boughI bought the WEN hair products while watching QVC. I have long blonde hair with a frizz problem. WEN products did not help at all. I followed their instructions. I sent WEN a nice e-mail asking for assistance about 2-3 months ago. Still no reply. So I did some research and saw that a real professional hair dryer could take care of the problem. I used Pantene shampoo and conditioner and used my new hair dryer. I will say, I am finally happy with the results. I'm not sure about any other dryer, but I bought the SEDU REVOLUTION professional 4000i model. It is pricey, but buying hair products over and over that don't work will cost you much more. My hair dried so much faster and hardly any frizz. I just got the dryer last week. I am happy with the results. I hope this helps people. I would not recommend WEN hair stuff to anyone.
After using this product my hair appeared extremely oily and weighed down. It was so embarrassing it had to be immediately washed. Once washed away for over a week I had to repair my hair from damage. My hair was healthy and beautiful before. I just wanted to give this product a try. In fact, my before was a million times better than the after. After using WEN my hair was unmanageable and appeared damaged for a week. Now I have control of my hair again and will keep the gimmicks out of my shower from now on. It was a Joke! And not to mention how expensive it is. Can they really be serious? They should really put more money into getting there product right instead of the misleading commercials and what they pay "actors".
Totally agree - this is a total scam. Will end up paying about $250 for this 'deal' I supposedly signed up for when I ordered the 30 day supply for myself back in November. The stuff sucks and this is so lame that they take advantage of people like this!
Bad customer service and products
Wen hair products do not work any better than any other hair product I've used. It actually started to make my hair look worse! I received a free sample through proactiv, just pay shipping and handling. I called to cancel and they had already sent me another box but it cost 90 dollars! I never agreed to this or wanted this. No one informed me of this when I called to order my sample for just the shipping. I can not stand places that do business this way, like they try to sneak things in and think you'll be too lazy to do anything about it. Well I canceled and had to shoot through hoops to get the representative to tell me what to do to get my money back. All they do is ignore what the customer is saying and try to talk you out of sending it back. It's a crappy product! too expensive for what it is! They finally agreed to cancel and remove my card. A few weeks later I see they charged me again! I understand I had to pay for the other one they sent (even though I didn't agree to it in the first place) and I would get my money back when they received my return. But for them to tell me I would not be charged anything else and they still did! I have to wait another 4 to 6 weeks to get that charge back too! Their way of business is ridiculous. They try to get money where ever they can!
Deceptive advertising
I saw WEN hair product ads everywhere online. I was excited about using an organic product line to repair and restore my damaged hair. When I ordered, I was responding to an ad offering a 30 day supply for $29.99 + shipping and handling. see below between the double brackets [[ . . . ]]

NO WHERE IN THE AD or in the ordering process - was it mentioned that this would be RECURRING ORDER. It was only when I noticed a second charge on my bank statement - that I called their order center, only to be told that the order process did advise me this would be a recurring order. I don't recall seeing or agreeing to that . . so it must be well hidden!
I told the rep that I wanted the order canceled, he said in order to get the "discount" for the 30 day supply, the recurring order was mandatory. I repeated that I wished to cancel the order. He than said that 3 additional shipments had already been approved, including the one for which I had just noticed the charge to my account.
These charges are executed one month at a time . . how is it NOT possible to cancel the charges and future shipments?!
I have subsequently canceled the debit card on file for my WEN account order and will advise friends and family to NOT try this offer. The rep also said that these type of products are not available anywhere except through WEN - which is ALSO NOT TRUE. My sister later told me about an organic product named "no poo" - available through her hair dresser, locally.
I have been using Wen for 6 months and LOVE the products. The auto-ship was clearly listed on the invoice in the original shipment including the exact date of the next shipment. I did call to cancel my auto-ship with no hassels at all due to the fact that I prefer different products than offered through Guthey Renker. You can find wonderful deals at QVC or directly through Chaz Dean. I highly recommend all the Wen products.
Chaz is a souless thief!
I purchased wen and i was completely disatisfied. I could get better results by using regular conditioner, rubbing hard, combing and rinsing. they don't tell you that your 3 month supply will be sent automatically and that you will be paying for it over a 3 month period, $90.oo for junk.If you try and cancel you get the run around. Do not buy this product. It is a scam . please tell all your friends. People, we need to be mindful of eachother in this economy. We shouldn't allow businesses to continue to steal form us. ENOUGH!
Lied to me
I signed up for WEN hair care and after a few months decided to cancel, but they were so insistent that they talked me into keeping my account but changing the products. When it started piling up in my cabinet I finally called and cancelled. The company rep told me I could return all unused and unopened product and I would be refunded. This was a lie and now they have the product I paid for but they won't refund my money. Also, after 3 months, they took another deduction out of my checking account and tell me it will take 6 weeks to refund it back. I wish I had found this website before I ordered from this company.
NEVER ORDER WEN. THEY HAVE ADDITIONAL FEES THAT THEY CONVIENTNLY DO NOT MAKE SURE YOU, THE ORDERER/CONSUMER KNOW. THEY HAVE YOUR CC # ALREADY FOR THE FIRST ORDER OF $29.99 FOR A 30 DAY SUPPLY. THEN THEY KEEP CHARGING YOU FOR FUTURE ORDERS EVEN IF YOU JUST ORDERED ONE 30 DAY SUPPLY.
SO THEY CHARGE YOU INITIALLY FOR THE FIRST ORDER OF 30 DAY SUPPLY. SOMEHOW THEY KEEP CHARGING YOU BECAUSE YOU TOLD THEM "OK, BUT JUST FOR 30 DAYS THEN I'LL LET YOU KNOW IF I WANT TO CONTINUE." WELL THAT'S NOT THE CASE. THEY CHARGE YOU FOR MORE WHEN YOU DIDN'T WANT IT. NO SMALL PRINT. KEEP ON NOT ORDERING FROM THEM. SORRY WEN YOU SUCK! NOT ACTUALLY THE PRODUCT, MAINLY ADS.!
Automatic Shipments Won't Stop!
I saw this on tv. It was totally unlike me to order something off an infomercial, but I decided to try it. I liked the product. I let my friends try it and they liked it. It was totally something I would have bought more of. On my own terms.
When I received a second package, and saw my card being charged again, I called to cancel the autoshipment that I apparently signed up for. (I recall being very careful when I filled out my initial order form because I didn't want to get sucked into this very situation.) I believed the issue was closed.
My card was charged a full three times after that for products I had cancelled. When I called Chaz Dean again to plead my case and beg him to stop robbing me, the person on the other end of the "customer service line" was cold and almost taunting, informing me that I had signed up for this.
I wish I could have been a fly on the wall of the board room where Chaz Dean's financial advisors sold him this business model. In the end, this was a product I liked and would have continued to purchase if Chaz Dean and Guthy Renker had been up-front, honest, and customer-focused. I take comfort in the satisfaction I get when I tell my friends, family, clients, the world wide web, and anyone else who'll listen that it's not a product worth trying.
I would NEVER order this again. This company is unethical. The continued to bill my credit card after I had canceled. I had to block their ability to bill further in order to stop it. My credit card company is now researching there erroneous charges. The product is not that great -- do yourself a favor and buy products from companies that treat customers right!
My mom was buying ProActive for my daughter (Guthy Renker). She called me this morning wanting to know if I had maybe added some make-up and Wen shampoo to her account. I did not. So she called ProActive to find out what was going on and there was a slew of product companies all linked together that drained her account and left the account $1200 overdrawn. They believe it was an employee who got a hold of my moms information. The police department said they are seeing an increase of complaints like this. The shipping address had been changed on my mom's account. But the Guthy Renker policy will not allow anyone to get the information off their OWN account. So she had to cancel her card, file a police report and wait for the money to be refunded to her. I think the ProActive product is fabulous, but DO NOT GET IT THREW MAIL ORDER! GO to the mall! This is a VERY CROOKED COMPANY!
I, too, got accidentally sucked into the auto ship. When the 2nd package arrived and I called to cancel the account, I was not told that this 2nd package was actually $95 (not the $29.95 that I paid for the 1st shipment) and that I would be billed in 3 installments for this. So even though I had cancelled the account and sent the 2nd package back (which has not been credited yet), they went ahead and charged my account for the 2nd installment of that 2nd package. When I called over this latest charge they assured me that as soon as my return was processed I would be credited for everything except shipping & handling. "So you're going to charge me S&H for something I didn't order, didn't want and didn't (knowlingly) authorize?!" That appears to be their plan. I'm letting my credit card company assist at this point. I will say that I LIKED the Wen product. I thought it was a little expensive for as much as they tell you to use, but as others have observed, if you use less product and don't wash your hair as often, that will bring down the overall cost nicely. Bottom line for me, however, is that if this whole shipping thing is Guthy Renker (not Chaz Dean) then my advice is for Chaz to stop going through Guthy Renker, period. This has been such a poor experience for me (and it's not over yet), that my feeling is to NEVER buy the Wen line again even though it seems to be a good product.
I order my WEN products from QVC and have never had a problem other than when an item is sold out and I have to go one wait-list (an excellent reason to go on auto-delivery).
I have found Chaz to be an ethical, moral, sensitive, and caring business person. When he appears on QVC he goes into great detail about how to use his products and beyond that he sends a DVD with many of his products.
I have been using his products for about 2 years and I can honestly say that my hair has become so much healthier. In addition, I had a double chemical treatment last year and used the products the stylist recommended. My hair broke off so badly that I seriously thought I was going to end up bald. I went back to my WEN products and little by little my hair came back. I just kept it trimmed and used my WEN products.
Thank you Chaz Dean for the Love you put into your work. R Flowers from QVC.
Guthy Renker has been an absolute nightmare. I ordered a introductory pack and quickly decided I didn't want to receive any more products. So I phoned them to cancel about 6 months ago. Last week to my surprise they charged my credit card over $40 without permission. So I phoned Guthy Renker and spoke to two different people who were both very rude and constantly talked over me while I tried to explain the situation. They insisted that my account was not cancelled but only suspended even though I clearly instructed them that I did not want to receive any more products when I phoned 6 months ago. They now expect me to pay all the postage - that's over $20 including return postage for a product that I clearly told them I don't want to receive. I've got a life threatening medical condition and can no longer afford these extra costs. They are stealing peoples money and show no respect! I refuse to pay for the postage, so I have to wait and see if my bank can do a credit card chargeback. I'll never buy anything from Guthy Renker ever again.
i love it and orered it off tv which i have never done. even paid shipping to receive the product sooner and i am still waiting for the product. Where in the world is it. If your not sending it then credit my card NOW !
IT HARD TO ORDER THIS PRODUCTS WHEN YOU DID NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARD I DID AND I HAVE NO PRODUCT IT BEING OVER A MONTH THIS IS LAST TIME I WILL THIS PRODUCT I'M MAD I CAN NOT TRY THIS PRODUCT OUT I GOT THIS OFF THE COMPUTER THERE IS NOTHING ON COMPUTER IF YOU USE A CHECK IT HARD TO ODER THIS MY CHECK I WANT MY PRODUCT
Theres a proper way of using these products and dont understand why people do not watch the DVD that comes with them as far as not being able to stop your shipments for the products. Are you getting them from Guthy Renker? If So and it's being billed to a Debit Card Or Checking Account then maybe you should Not have the funds available for them to billyour Debit Card OrChecking Account You could also tell your Bank you lost your Debit Card Or maybe you just need to empty your Bank Account and Use those Funds to Open a new Account so that your credit wont be ruined, They will get the point and stop sending you the products.Have you called Customer Service and told them you dont want anymore shipments? You could always send the shipment back after you open it and write on the Invoice Cancel Membership?
I have same problem with Wen Hair Products! I have continually told them I am not interested in their product anymore, DO NOT SEND ANYMORE PRODUCTS TO ME. They are screwing up my checking account and credit!
AND YES IT STINKS AND I FELT LIKE I HADN'T SHOWERED FOR A WEEK. IT DID NOT EVEN GIVE ONE DAY OF HAIR LOOKING GOOD.
You did sign up for this shipment program thru Guthy Renker, You did so when you chose to pick up your phone, dial their number placing your order by giving them your name, address & credit card information, Chaz Dean is Not the only product they sell on their infomercials they sell other products as well & all of those are on a shipment program as well.Guthy Renker did not call you, you called them.So might I suggest that instead of trashing Products that you said you liked & would buy on your own terms as well as trashing Chaz Deans good name that you go to QVC.COM They have a complete line of Chaz Dean Products that you can buy on your own terms, You can do so with One-Time Only Shipment Or you can go on Auto Delivery & you can skip Or Delay a shipment Or cancel the auto delivery program whenever you want. There's No Fees Or membership Dues & they have Excellent Customer Service Professionals that will treat you right If you should have a Question, Problem, Concern Or you want to manage your Auto- Delivery.Dont Trash Chaz Or his Products because you made the poor choice of calling Guthy Renker instead of calling QVC.I swear by Chaz Deans Cleasing Products & I only buy them from QVC.
Charging Credit Card unauthorized
I actually like the product and would purchase on my own. But my gripe stems from the fact that I place what I thought was a one time order, only to find another $60.00 charge on my card the next month! I called the company saying I did not want the 2nd shipment, they told me they'd cancel my account once they received the item back... BUT THEY DIDN'T! I just looked at my bank statement and they charged another $29.95 to my account! I'm very disappointed because I genuinely liked the product, but I don't want it forced down my throat! This is unethical business practice.
Billing/Customer Service
I purchased the product and was not impressed with the results; the product made my hair feel unclean. I was not aware of the automatic 90-day membership and when I received the 2nd shipment and noticed the charges, contacted customer service number. This number is always busy and it's impossible to talk to a rep/agent. I was not able to get through so I submitted a contact form requesting to cancel the membership which was not done. I was charged a total of 97.40 in three payments. When I noticed the 3rd charge on my cc account, I called the cust service number again and asked to speak to a manager/supervisor and I was refunded $89.90. would never recommend this product and the customer service was horrible. The business practices/policies of the company are unethical. I filed a BBB claim.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have the same issue. I have just been told by their customer service rep that I have never called in before ... this is my 4th time calling this company to explain that I do not owe them any money ... yet there is nothing on the account now but a bill for 43.94. The previous customer service reps claimed to have resolved the issue ... yet here we are ... still getting threatening letters from Wen for the $43.94 that I do not owe them. It must be time for legal action to get these people to listen to their abused customers...
NO ATTITUDE, I JUST MENTIONED TO TALK MORE ABOUT THE PRODUCT, AND AGREE OR DISAGREE WITH OTHER COMMENTS, IF THE PRODUCT HELPED AT ALL., NOT THE BAD SERVICE SHE RECEIVED, WHICH IS VERY GOOD TO KNOW. bUT SOME PEOPLE HAVE A BAD EXPRIENCE WITH CUST. SERVICE OR SHIPPING, AND GET VERY ANGRY AND MAD WITH THE COMPANY OVER THAT, WHICH ITS OK TOO, BUT IF THE PRODUCT IS GOOD AND CHANGED YOUR HAIR FOR THE BETTER, BEING FURIOUS SHOULDN'T GET IN THE WAY OF LETTING OTHER PEOPLE KNOW THAT IT IS A GREAT PRODUCT.
Ok, cust service is terrible.
How was the product? Did it do what they say it should do? Is your hair shinier? healthier looking? Did you read otther comments and agreed with them? Did your hair get gritty after 3 weeks? (like another comment has made) People need to compare notes and agree or disagree with them to let other people know how the product worked for them. some people are desperat for a product to work on their hair, they woud spend anything, but they need to know if the product itself is worth a little change anyway.
inferior product
I wanted to say thank you to an earlier poster that gave a phone number for the company! THANK YOU! I was able to get through to a representative after only a minute of being on hold. [protected] the automated answering will want to know the purpose of your call...press #2 for changes to your existing Wen account. When a representative answered I explained that I wanted to cancel my membership with Wen hair care. I told her I kind of liked the product but it had not done for my hair what I thought it would. I said I wished to keep the rest of the 90 day supply that was sent to me in January and I knew the last payment for that would be coming out of my account today and that was ok. She went ahead and cancelled future shipments/payments and sent me a confirmation email. They can do all of this without your customer #, if you give them your last name and zip code they can find your account and then give you your customer #. I am hopeful that I have ended my obligations to Wen and look forward to finding a more legitimate product line for my hair that does NOT involve automatic shipments ;) ~Katy
Update to my post...Wen is not able to email you, the customer service reps do not have outside email access. So, in regards to cancelling your memebership-- their system does not generate confirmation numbers but if you cancel your memebership that will generate an order number, get that number. I would also reccomend calling them back to have another rep pull up your account and make sure the cancelation order is there...good luck! ~Katy
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
YES! My hair fell out too and got so thin you could see through it! It was following out at an alarming rate! I stopped using WEN and my hair loss has stopped. Now I have to try and grow some of it back. It's a total mess now!

I have a question, Has anybody found that after usng Wen their hair is thining out? I have been using Wen for awhile, and I find my hair is so much thinner recently. If anyone has any recomendations I would love to hear them. Pmitc91842.
Ive been using the Wen Sweet Almond Mint cleansing conditioner since October 2010. I love it! I will never go back to shampoo and conditioner. I use 2 pumps per wash twice a week, and my hair is colored on a regular basis. I have soft manageable hair with a lot of shine. I've had no problems ordering just what I need, and when I stopped my regular order because I moved to England from Cali USA the customer care representitives were very helpful. I only need 2 bottles of cleansing conditioner per year. I spent a great deal more than that on shampoo and conditioner per year before. Thank you!
Scam
Wen Hair Care Products - Guthy Rinker.
I am very disgusted with this company, not only did they hit my account for over 97.00, but when I called Customer Servuce to return the product, they said I would have to have it sent with a return receipt, costing me another 12.00, this was to guarantee my refund.
When I finally got my refund they charged me over 31.00.
What a joke, so this whole return cost me over 43.00. I will never do business with them again, and will tell all my friends what a rip off.

Try it from QVC. No I do not work for QVC. I really like the Wen and it did make a hugh favorable different to my hair. do NOT use the styling cream it only makes your hair oily and heavy. I think they only include it to make you have to wash your hair more often which means using your Wen faster. Do NOT NOT NOT buy it from Gunthy Ranker. You can buy it online from QVC by the single item or in single sets no auto monthly orders. And QVC does stand behind their refunds, at least they always have for me. Blessings SisterGenny
Charged Credit Card for Product That Was Not Ordered
I tried the product on the advertised offer. I didn't like it. I moved countries and changed credit cards.
The called my elderly father and convinced him to pay for $199.50 worth of product I did not order and charged his credit card.
this is appalling unethical behaviour!
After I sent a complaint, they told me they had sent my unpaid bill to a debt collector's!
Unbelievable. Obviously I did not receive the first bill for the unordered product as I had let the country. Otherwise I would have tried to sort it out immediately before they tricked my father into paying for it.
DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS to pay for Wen products or if ever dealing with Guthy Renker

Unacceptable, for a company to do this
cancelled but still ships, charged my debit card
I cancelled in 2009 my membership, I received shipment yesterday and my debit card was charged $43.++. I waited in queue for a long time, tried to go online but no page comes out, takes forever.

I ordered the starter Kit in September and received the box with items missing and charged more then was quoted on the website. Never have received the 90 day auto shipment of product but charged for it 3 months after initial order. One of the 4 representatives that have said they will straightened out the problem (they will not let you talk to a supervisor) gave me a Fedex tracking number that Fedex confirmed has never been picked up for delivery. Fedex confirmed no product has been shipped but WenHairCare seems to be certain that I will receive product by the end of the week. I Requested cancellation of my account and a refund for product billed but never shipped or received. I like the product but will not buy from WenHairCare.com. Who is Guthy-Render ?
auto shipments
i just saw the wen infomercial and asked if there was a way to not subscribe to autoshipments but they said they might be able to do it for twenty extra dollars (although i doubted they wouldn't keep charging my credit card for some strange reason there would be a mix up i'd have to spend hours on the phone to fix), i told them they would sell a lot more product if they had a one time purchase avail since i declined the offer who accidentally asked me if i wanted lumineers since the answering ladies and men are taking calls for many products)... i felt like it was a scam and after reading a bunch of message boards i'm so glad i didn't apply. i realized i could buy it on ebay to try it and others are saying qvc are offering it without autoshipments. i'm interested in trying the product but without trying it i'm not going to sign up for every month so i decided to spend less and get it online from either unsatisfied customers or people who were unable to cancel their membership even after calling and returning the product so if anyone wants to try it i would recommend not buying it from the infomercial and buying it on ebay... just a little tip.i also thought it was funny how they say you only need one product but 5 products come with it, lol) then if you love it and have to have it, you can try the autoship but just like any gym membership or anyone who's tried proactive, it's close to impossible to cancel membership without extra fees, return fees, or credit card charges you are unable to rectify and waste much of your time getting nowhere. it makes me not want to buy the product but i'm curious and will check out more message boards first. thank goodness for the internet! if anyone got stuck with an extra set and wants to sell me a set for the normal price i'd e happy to buy one from you. i want to see how many people really feel the difference and wonder what the ingredients actually are, if anyone has them listed on their product bottle... makes me want to throw together some herbs and natural ingredients and make my own product and infomercial. ya can't blame him, he has scammed enough people to make enough money to hire celebrities to promote the product and show what hair looks like before a blowout and after a blowout... it's pretty obvious that the before pix are air dried and with a big round brush and a very good hot, fast hair drier and curling iron ends, how wonderful the after pic looks..(and if those examples were his best before and afters i'm doubtful it is so wonderful but i have not tried it yet so can't comment on the actual product, just their creative way of collecting fees).. i can't believe i even called. that's what happens when you can't sleep at 4am, you start making crazy decisions... makes me want to open another biz but i couldn't do that to people, however, enough people buy into it to do it... same with proactive, if you wash your face twice a day and apply the same exact active ingredient from a normal brand your pimples will go away without bleaching your pillowcases. it's just ritual... and if you have ever tried to clean the jack la lane juicer you will use it once and forget about it. i have one if anyone wants to trade for a set of the hair care products! lol. jody
i think it's funny that one of their main ingredients is alcohol which dries your hair and then they use the oil to silken it out. i'm sure you can come up with your own brand but i wouldn't recommend it... i find that a good finishing product makes it silky like biosilk or other brands, you sort of jut have to try different items out... i'd love a magic bullet though! lol

I have found the the Wen Hair Care is wonderful and does make a hugh difference in the condition, thinkness, and texture of my hair. However, I will not do any offers where you are auto enrolled in monthly shipements or billings. Or any free trial offers. You can buy Wen on line from QVC and only when you want it, in single or multiple quantities, no auto orders and no auto charges to your credit card obligations. Try it from QVC. blessings SisterGenny
Did Not Work For Me!
WEN Hair Care - I have plenty to say about this NEW type of way to cleanse and conditioner your hair, some negative and positive things. I have been using the Cucumber Aloe 90-Day Kit from Guthy-Renker, which contains the Cleansing Conditioner, Styling Creme, Re-Moist, and Texture Balm. At this time, it has been a full 5-weeks that I've been using the products. Below is a week-by-week analysis:
First Week: I noticed major improvements in my hair, it wasn't as brittle and was shinier. My itchy scalp was tamed a little bit. Overall in the first week, I gave WEN a 95% satisfaction rate.
Second Week: Continued to improve my hair, was now brighter than the first week. I still noticed some dandruff, but not as much. My hair was really soft, like silk. WEN gave my hair a pleasnt smell after cleansing. Shiny and nice-looking, I was really enjoying this.
Third Week: Same as the second week. My hair got better, but hasn't changed much since. A strange occurance though, every time at this point when I would wash my hair with the Cleansing Conditioner, my hair had an unusual texture to it, NOT the smooth feeling it had just one week before. (Weird!) At this point, I gave WEN a 72% satisfaction rating.
Fourth Week: Not much improvement, doesn't seem to get better or worse. The strange gritty texture continues, and my hair is feeling limp and lifeless. I'm getting tired of the STRONG menthol odor from the Cleansing Conditioner. For some weird reason, my hair almost feels THINNER than when I started! (That pisses me off!)
Fifth Week: About to throw this stuff out the window! First of all, I have noticed NO significant improvement from the second week. Second, my hair now has a strange gritty feeling (which is still present.) Third, my scalp is still itchy and not much improved. Fourth, the menthol odor from the Conditioner is about to make me sick, it's SO strong smelling! So basically, I'm giving this a 50% satisfaction rating. I'm neither completely satisfied nor completely disappointed!
In Conclusion: Be wary of NEW products! The WEN Hair Care system will work differently for everybody. I've read online that it is either a WIN or a LOSE! I gave the products a final 50% success rate. Why? Because, over time, I didn't see ANY improvements whatsoever! In essence, every one who tries this will either be HAPPY or UPSET. In my case, I'm UPSET. I was really hoping that WEN would work for me! I've been dealing with scalp issues for years, and this product didn't help at all.
About the Price: For 32 ounces, you pay an average of $45 dollars! YIKES! In today's economy, hardly anyone can afford this high-prices salon-grade product. Save your money on Shampoos that can work as good or better than WEN.
What Am I Doing Next? Switching back to R Pur Aloe's Shampoo (for $6.95) and Conditioner for $6.95 - that's $14.00 total for a shampoo AND conditioner. Unlike WEN, 16 ounces costs $28.00! I could buy two of the R Pur Aloe's Shampoo and Conditioner for the same price, but have twice as more! I'm buying the Aloe Shampoo and Conditioner at www.NewVitality.com.

I'm going through my own problems with wen right now. I used the product as directed and it didn't last me but a month. My bills were not consistent. The first two payments were as much as they said they'd be, $34.95. But the last payment that was charged to my debit card was almost $50. That threw me off, when I called to cancel, customer service kept explaining reasons why I couldnt. They said I had a balance $148.79. I had already paid for my first and only order of wen Ive received. I shouldn't have a balance at all! Finally my dad heard enough, the whole time I was on speaker with wen. He took the phone and demanded them to give me what I wanted which was a cancelation. I sent back my first order today in hopes of getting my money back. I have very thick, curly, frizzy hair. Wen makes my hair soft like any other conditioner but it doesnt take away frizz at all. If you have hair that's hard to manage, don't try Wen. Wen just makes empty promises.
Not satisfied w/product and service
I saw this product on an informercial and thought that it looked to be a great product for my hair. Well, I was wrong! When I use this, my hair just feels dirty and greasy! Then, before I was even half way finished with the inital bottle I purchased, I was surprised to get another shipment with 2 larger bottles, a large tube of styling cream and a container of moist intense hair treatment. When I opened the package, I also noticed a billing invoice and saw that I was going to be billed a total of $97.80... I flipped. Yes, these payments are billed to your charge card in 3 installments, but I was not expecting this! I then proceded to call customer service to let them know I was not needing this and that I wanted to return it. I was advised that it would not be an issue to return the product, but of course I would have to pay to have it shipped back. I just hope that I don't go through the same situation that I noticed another customer went through when sending this back for a refund.
All I can say... PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!

I ordered shampoo from the company Wen Hair Care. After I received my order, I received one more shampoo, and the seller told me to pay for the second order $80. I called them several times and tried to cancel all these orders, but they told me that I needed to pay for everything they sent me. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Can you provide any good piece of advice?
there are many many sites selling this product, I feel that it depends on where you purchase this product. also I have really dry hair and the humidity has effected it also. I love this product, but I can see if your hair is already oily, it probably is not a Great product for u. good luck in returning to if info commercial site.
AUTO SHIPMENT!
OK, so when I heard about the Wen hair care system I was pumped because my hair was completely screwed up recently by a hair stylist using WAY to much chemicals on my hair. So I order the One month supply of the hair care system and after using it I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the product. It would be fair to say that Wen hair care system is not for EVERYONE, especially since everyone's hair type is different. For me, since my hair was completely fried and brittle, it was truly a miracle! My hair is more soft now than it was before I was chemically abused! I was looking on the website because I was about ready to purchase another bottle. It was hard to understand the Website so I just decided to wait. The next day (today) I noticed on my bank statement that $37.90 was taken out of my account for WEN HAIR CARE. I was extremly confused. I sent an e-mail on the website under the contact information. After thinking about it I decided to go ahead and call. The connection was terrible, very staticy and when I spoke the persons response was delayed and became very frustrating. She told me she would need to call me back. I waited for 30 minutes and decided to call again. I spoke to a different person and finally had some progress. I told him that I was unaware about the auto shipment and he said that he would be able to take my credit card information off, but if I wanted a refund I would have to send back the 90-day supply that was sent to me and would not be refunded for the shipping. It never even crossed my mind that this could be a scam. I love the product but it has definitely been a huge HASSEL! I love the product, but I don't think it is worth this HUGE HASSEL!

Had the same problem. They're sneeky! they only charged $37.90 for the auto shipment. Then they'll charge additional $29.95 for the next two months. I made the mistake of agreeing to keep the product before seeing the invoice. Not one time did the operator tell me what was going to happen when I called to cancel. My gf actually like the product. It's a shame that they had to resort to these kind of practices. If the product is good why deceit the customers.
