Went to Wendy's in Abilene, tx Southwest drive, Horrible customer service and unsanitary as can be. Went in about 2:15 pm on 9/21/2024. waited for order for over 20 or 25 minutes, Our order cost was about $30.00 which consisted of 2 baconator fries with extra cheese sauce a 20 pc garlic parmasean with 4 blue cheese, 1 10pc spicey garlic pamasean with 2 blue chesse. To Go order for Ray. guy put both baconator fries on counter one with cover one uncovered leaving them sitting there for at least 12-15 minutes while waiting he put these on trays that were used to put other orders on atleast 2 other orders. did not know these were actually ours until he said ray your order is ready roughly 10 minutes later with the nuggets were placed on the tray. I said no its not. because it is a to go order. When we looked at the baconator fries they both had a drizzle of cheese sauce only, I said I asked for extra cheese sauce, he looked and said nothing I said can you put extra sauce he said no because he did not make them. But he was the one actually made them. At this my roommate said ok just give us our money back then, he told the manager we wanted our money back, the manager Just said ok, never asked us what the issue was, so i told her we ordered extra cheese sauce, she looked at the receipt and said yeah they should have put extra cheese sauce, but never offered to fix the issue. I went back in and asked the manager for corporates number, that not one person offered to fix the order that was already on the counter. she gave me a Q.R. code to do a survey instead. I told her this is very on unprofessional in any definition. she said you asked for your money back. about a month and half ago we were at this same location where we witnessed another customers order being put on used trays not even changing out the paper on the trays, the person took the order off that tray to put in the bag once he was told it was a togo order, a nugget fell on the counter, which is the same counter other customers were waiting for their order sneezing, coughing and what not, and well as kids coming to that same counter leaning their body and arms on, not once the whole time we were there in line, did that counter get wiped down once well the employee at the time picked up the nugget with a tissue and put it in the customers bag right in front of him. we left wendys at that time to go eat elsewhere. body sweat and snot and what not is not appetizing to most people. Especially with the government say covid is still an issue. This was the same manager on both incidents. This deserves no stars at this stage. Very nasty restaurant to occupy, Health department should go in and just watch what happen at this location. In fact I copied this complaint and will forward to them. as well as anyother social page so the public will know what goes on at this location.
Recommendation: Go elsewhere for your and your familys wellbeing.
That experience at Wendy’s sounds like a complete disaster, from the unsanitary conditions to the lack of care in handling your order. When a place can’t even get something as basic as extra cheese sauce right, and then refuses to fix the issue or acknowledge the problem, it’s beyond frustrating. The fact that you’ve witnessed questionable hygiene practices at this location before just adds to how unacceptable the whole situation is.
It’s good that you’re bringing this to attention, and reaching out to the health department is definitely the right move. If a fast food spot can’t maintain basic cleanliness or handle orders properly, it deserves to be called out. Hopefully, your complaint pushes them to take action before more customers have to deal with the same nonsense.
