My 15 year old daughter had got her first job at mcdonalds. They say they work around the kids schedule. That was a lie. They scheduled her to work a closing shift 2 to 3 times a week on a school night. She was told if she didn't work them she would be let go. So they let here go after working there a year. They said she didn't show for a couple of shifts, but we always watched our daughters shifts. Mcdonalds lies. Now my daughter is having a hard time finding a job. Now she's afraid of work. Thanks a lot mcdonalds.

Having been loate to buy from the Atterbury branch of McDonalds due to previous experiences, but feeling very peckish I decided to give them another chance. I ordered a small Big Mac meal with a medium strawberry milkshake instead of the coke and a medium Cajun chicken meal again with a chocolate milkshake instead of the coke from the intercomm system at the entrance to the drive through and then progressed reasonable quickly past the pay station until 3rd in line to be given my order. After 1015 minutes I eventually turned off my cars motor and waited probably another 5 to 10 minutes before progessing a spot. While waiting a young blonde female came to the window (from a car that had just come into the parkng area) to complain that she had received a wrap instead of her burger. When this was eventually sorted out she left with the comment that the staff at Macs 'should wake up'...Thanks to her I checked my order when I eventually received it and found the instaed of 2 milkshakes I had been given a coke and the chocolate shake. I then insisted on speaking to the manager and suggested that he reply the assistant at the window because she was obviously utterly useless.

WOW, we also live here in Temple GA and I agree that MCD SUCKS! I would give them a lot more of my money if they had a play ground. They could have made so much more money if they would have made an area for kids. I ordered chicken nuggets there and I got one that was COLD like reallly COLD... COME ON... the fries are always soggy and the mexican lady in the morning is VERY RUDE she seems to get annoyed when i ask for ketchup. IT'S YOUR JOB! I just drive the extra 10 mins to chick fil a in Villa Rica to get a my pleasure and have a nice day with HOT FRIES and good size chicken on my sandwich.

I used to work at Target. They I really did not like working there at times. Let me give all of your readers a glimpse on what each cashier goes through. Every cashier is human. Target has a series of questions that we have to ask each guest. Will this be on your target card? Would you like to save 10% by opening an account? How was your experience? Did you find everything that you were looking for? I agree with one of your viewers cashiers get tired. It is not that we are not friendly. Dealing with the public is not easy especially when target does not pay well. Give us a break, and target has one of the best return policies I have ever seen. They give you 90 days to return items, most stores give only 30 days. And lose your receipt they have an option to look up the transaction using your debit or credit card. Most companies don't allow that option. If you are returning something without a receipt and you paid cash for it, that is not Target's fault it is the customer's problem. They need to have a valid US id when processing returns without receipts, for legal purposes. I had to deal with guests constantly whining and [censor]ing in my face for following target policy. Guests should try being courteous to Target employees for a change.

After seeing the CBC documentary "Food Inc." on the passionate eye, I have only returned once to Macdonalds, only to get sick at the thought and the sight of their product.
Until Macdonalds cleans up it's act with the raising of cattle and other farm (or shoud I say, houses of horror, rather than farm) animals, so abhorent that the finsihed product has to be treated with amonia to reduce its toxic levels to marginally acceptable levels, I will never eat at these restaurants again. The cows / steers even have to be put on antibiotics from the time they are born to slaughter, in order to survive the force feeding of grain which is cheap but toxic to these creatures. There is an old saying that we are what we eat, and I dont thin Frankensteer makes the grade. Even the farmers who are force to raise their product's this way at the mercy of Macdonals dont agree with it have little choice to comply or get out of the business.

My daughter works at a macdonalds in the north east of England. She is desperate to find alternative employment. The management treat her like [censor] and she cries on a daily basis.

McDonald's in Cumberland, Maryland. There is this one Shift manager who thinks he was King Kong and thinking he can drive people insane. Well guess what one day I quit that place due to that stupid [censor]. It was a male shift manager and his name is Josh Weir. When I was working at the 22 Queen City Drive Cumberland, Maryland. That particular treated me like some idiot. Got news for him I'm doing a nice tell all. I respected your punk [censor] everyday. But you had some attitude problem. So 1 day I went to the Regional Supervisior and told on your [censor]ing [censor] for threatening to clock out people because they were told they had 5 minutes to go to the bathroom. Also another reason I quit McDonald's was the fact they can bring European ideas and jam down the throats of every single worker including management in which it does not work. McDonald's has no respect for the United States of America. McDonald's has even violated the rights of its workers including religious rights guarnated by the American Constitution. McDonald's has also did reduced hours down to the point where they think the US Government can take care of the employees. Well guess what the Government can't take care of people and should not take care of people at all. McDonald's is one of the biggest Liberal run companies that it has hypocracy all over it.

I work at McDonald's and I understand there are harsh situations going on, but personally, I love working for that company, I've gained so much skills and I've learned so much things. I'm really looking forward on moving up... And for those who call a job like mine a McJob, it ain't easy as you think, AT ALL. You have yo br fast, you have to multitask. I have to put coffee, hashbrowns, make orders, drinks, sometimes even take and charge the orders all at the same time... and even if you wanna runaway because of all the stress, you have to open that window, smile, be polite... McDonald's is a real challenge. But hey, I'm awesome, I can put up with all that and more. (;
4 days ago by lkbrbr@aol.com

Let me remind you McDonald's only prefers to promote married employees, Females, and old people. McDonald's only gives more hours to married employees, Females, and middle aged people. Older Males and Single Males have no future at McDonald's. I'm considering filing a complaint about this McDonald's and the regional supervisior to the state of Maryland for violation of civil rights and inhumane treatment.

I am in my mid 40's and had to find an income, so i went to work for mcdonalds. I made it 1 and half years before I quit. They treat you like dog poo. It seemed to me the better workers got treated the worst. The majority of the management are [censor]s, and the customers are nasty to you. I will live in a dumpster before going back to work there.

I work at McDonalds now and I hate it but I just have to deal with it for now. The managers act like they're Gods and yes, they treat the team members like [censor]. They get so angry about orders that are messed up and some customers berate you for getting an order wrong. It's like they have no respect for you. It's hard to care for a minimum wage job when a lot of customers and managers have no respect and act like the world revolves around hamburgers. Really, I'm sick of being made to feel like crap over burgers and fries. I'm in nursing school and I can't wait to graduate. At least if I get yelled at in the future, it will be about something that matters like someone's life, not their lunch.

i have worked at mcdonalds for about 2 years now and boy does it SUCK! i agree with what everyone says here about their rude as hell managers, lazy teenagers who think the world owes them something and rude customers. HOWEVER..there is a plus side to this job ( a very small ) but still there plus side, you gain a HELL OF A LOT customer experience..working at this place you see it all and it really does prepare you. the pay is awful..i feel like we deal with too much and get paid too little. but, to the person who wrote this article..you should have went to the mcdonalds corporate office to discuss your daughters hours because they will actually agree and or help you UNLIKE managers who think they have the worlds greatest power or something. good luck to everyone that reads this that works at mcdonalds and HANG IN THERE ! my son and myself have been working on our new apartment, and realized we had nothing cold to drink so we decided to go to your mc donalds and get a few milk shakes. Well we didn't realize at the time that you changed your large shakes by putting whipped cream on them, my son always orders a large shake because you put any in it, so when they handed us our shakes, my son said to the cashier that he didn't want the cream and she said that's the way they come now. So instead of fixing it she went and got the manager for that night and she said that that's the way come now. he told her he didn't like whipped cream and she got a bad attatude and said wish we would have told them when we ordered it.So he said he would have if he would have known it was going to be that way she was so rude about it that we just took the shakes and I told her how rude she was and she just walked away. now I will never go back to that location again!

McDonald’s employees seem to be rude no matter what the location. I am in TN and they are rude all the time. I had a huge order because I had my house warming party and everyone besides me was drunk; they ate all the food that was prepared before they drank and then wanted McDonalds. My purchase came to almost 50.00, which is a lot for that place and I asked for extra extra Ketchup. The woman at the window stated they had a 4 packet limit per fry no matter the size and a 12 pc. nugget was given 5. I kept asking for more ketchup because there was none at the house and I knew I was going to be dealing with drunks. The lady got rude with me and threatened me stating that she has kids my age and that she didn't like my disrespect, when I asked her how much they took out of her petty paycheck to pay for the packs. I was so mad and I pulled up and went in the store demanding a manager, the manager stated that she was right; if they have a limit and a price then it should be listed on the board, if not then they should give the customer what they want when there is a purchase made.

Needless to say, I got back to the house and the order was wrong and I had to call and speak to them again because I wasn't about to spend all that money on an order that wasn't made correct. Really, how much experience and common sense does it take to make a hamburger or count out nuggets and put them in a box? If they can count ketchups they should be able to figure out an order and make it right.

i went through the drive through and ordered my wrap, i asked for big mac sauce, was greeted by a nice lady. got the wrap and drove away to find they forgot the sauce. i decided that i would drive back to get it right, i'm going to skip the drama, but you need to address the cook, she was very nasty to your help. I saw 2 of your employees upset. I was upset. I backed up the line because i waited for the wrap, they gave out 2 order by hand, and then I got my wrap. I waited with the car running 7 minutes. GASOLINE! and guess what, there was no sauce.

I don't need an attitude at that place its bad enough I have to have it for my dinner. LOL

This is a Bloody complaint to Mc Donalds. On Sunday evening the 31st of July about eight pm, I wanted to treat my family for desert with some sundaes.Which we ordered three large sundaes in the drive threw, that took ages cause they must have F@#% someone else, s order up.Then I was handed a half melted F@#%en sundae with a drink top where a straw goes in, instead of the real deal.I complained to the staff about the drink tops they had used, one had no lid at all so I asked for a cup holder which the F@#%en minda staff said ''we have none of those either'' At this point, I was F@#%en pissed, lost for words.Thinking what would RAMBO do in this situation, F@#%en blow the place up like that service station.I then snapped out of my pissed of state and asked for the manager. She comes over with the attitude like she doesn, t give a F@#%.I, m saying, ''this shouldn, t happen at all, you should make sure there, s plenty in stock always''She comes up with some ### like, '' the truck driver slept in and couldn, t make it up''.To my surprise, She then walked away not even apologizing, I couldn, t believe the customer service.I served my country in IRAQ and Afganistan as a decorated SAS which now I suffer with a disability.Thinking how the F@#% I, m I going to carry these three sundaes up the stairs when I reach home.By the time my family recieved the sundaes it looked like a busy day at the sperm bank. Anyway, I won, t go back there unless Ronald Mc Donald blows me off to make it even.

Just a thought here but, when you're 15 and just starting out work and especially at a fast food place, is it EVER enjoyable? Very few people have pleasant "first job" experiences. I am now 20 and have had plenty of experience with the world of fast food work. It DOES get better. Chances are there are lots of things that go on that you don't know about. When I was 15 I lied to my parents about my shifts so I didn't have to go to a job where my boss treated me like crap. Some places are great and some places aren't. It has more to do with the management than with the actual franchise so grow up, stop blaming others, and allow your daughter to take some responsibility for herself. You whining and complaining will set a terrible example for her, is that what you want? If your daughter is old enough to work then she is old enough to deal with the management at HER job (again, not your job) so stop butting in or she will never be able to deal with conflict on her own. And I'm fairly certain you don't want a child with no conflict management skills, do you? You sound like you're 15, quit complaining. The work force is tough and we don't all get cushy office jobs at 15. Suck it up, or shut up.

First of all it is a shame that Mc Donalds France does not have a direct e-mail address for customer complaints A couple months ago I visited Louvre museum in Paris and ate something in the Carrousel de Louvre Mc Donalds. Although The service was very slow and disordered, it was not a big problem. Lady from the staff gave our order and we asked her to change the fried potatoes as it was cold. Suddenly she threw it angrily and then gave a new one in a veryvery rude way. It is very suprising that such a big global restaurant chain does not train their personnel in one of the most touristic places in the world!

I worked for mcdonalds for 3 years. I quit without notice at 17 due to CRAP working enviroment, nosey mgrs, lazy coworkers,
and being dogged and underappriciated. I got yelled at every single day, most of the time because I didnt follow their unwritten store policy and rules that they decided to make up on the spot. Nice One. On the day I quit(WHOOOAA!:)) They decided to illegally backdate my last paycheck with anotheron one of their stupid rules, and lower it .25 an hour. AND they would let me work at any other fast food place! All this place does is prepare for crap jobs with idiot, life sucking managers and rules. Maybe you should try treating others with respect and see how well your times improve. Dont worry... What comes around goes around as the saying goes; and I hope what bring Mcdonalds down down is a slow miserable death. Oh ..wait its already started- no one in those crap working conditions is going to want to go back and eat THERE.

As of 6/2012 I had to agree with some comments. Mc Donalds do not care much about who they leave in charge of the shop. My daughter is and has had a very hard time with immature managers in a shop in Kannapolis NC. Terrible place I know people who won't even go there anymore because of the childess and rude attitudes of managers and crew members. There is no way to complain because even the (suppose to be) grown up managers play the same childess game as the children. I am helping my daughter use this as a training tool on what not to do. Soon after she graduates I will help her get out of there...

My husband, son and I stopped in McDonald's this morning for breakfast. We ordered two sausage mcmuffin's w/egg combos and a sausage biscuit combo for my boy. There was no line when we ordered in the dining room and the cashier "Katelynn" who was a trainee was very fast and efficient.
My husband waited for our food while my son and I sat down.I noticed it had been ten minutes and my husband wasn't back with our food yet so I went to see what was going on.There was big line at this point and the poor cashier was doing everything(taking orders, making orders, drive-thru etc.) while five other people were just fooling around in the back of the kitchen.
We had all our food except the sausage biscuit and Katelynn came over and asked what we were waiting for.I said the sausage biscuit and she said "oh my God!Ok, I'll have for it for you in a second." She turned around and asked the cooks to make a sausage biscuit and they flat out said no to her.My husband started yelling at the cooks and demanded they make one and not have Katelynn do everything.
Also at that moment, customers were becoming angry and yelling at poor Katelynn who looked maybe 18 and she handled it very well. She went back to the kitchen and started making a sausage biscuit when her male co-worker yelled at her to get out.my husband yelled very loud for the manager and the manager "Karen" came up and started making excuses for everything and asking what Katelynn did.
My husband told her that Katelynn is the only one doing anything and that everyone else isn't working.Karen turned to Katelynn and gave her dirty look and my husband yelled obscenities to Karen and then we walked out of the restaurant without food or a refund but we figured if we asked for a refund poor Katelynn would start refunding our money and then get yelled at for her customer service skills by her good-for-nothing manager and good-for-nothing co-workers.
I am taking further action and hopefully this poor girl who is just trying to make money over her summer vacation will be treated better.

I work at McDonalds in Australia. It is not as bad as people say, sure when it is busy it's hell (I work in the kitchen), you're expected to do so much at once, the pressure is insane. Some of my fellow employees are total bogans, the dregs of Australian society, and the way some of the managers treat you is completely dehumanising, they treat employees (trainees especially) like Special Ed kids.

But the upside of working at McDonalds is that it looks good on a resume, and you get paid. I know the pay isn't great (lets face it, it's minimum wage), but I live in a small town where there are virtually no other jobs available, so it's better than nothing.

I worked at McDonald's for nearly 2 years (in high school). I didn't mind it all that much to be honest, i've heard some McDonald's horror stories but my place was actually pretty good to work at, most of the people were fun. That being said though, the store manager was a complete ###, treated everybody like Special Ed kids and having fun was basically banned whenever he was working. And despite the store getting busier during peak times, he CUT the amount of people working, making it increasingly stressful (especially since the burgers are now 'made to order') during peak times. There was also one employee who was a fat cow to put it nicely, she was rude to absolutely everyone (except managers, she sucked up to them). But overall it wasn't that bad in hindsight.

6:40 am (09/04/13) went to the MacDonalds, Dartmouth Crossing, 46 Kiltearn Row for my coffee. Went through the drive thru and requested a lge coffee two cream, $1.90 at this location. Note: All other MacDonalds locations in the area a lge coffee is $1.83.

I was using the MacDonalds coffee card plus 25 cents to cover the difference.
I gave the hostess the card plus 30 cents, she went to get the coffee but stopped and informed me that an upgarde was 35cents.
I replied really, as I had always given the card plus 25 cents, she rpeated that an upgrade is 35 cents.

Note: A medium coffee is $1.45 plus tax = $1.67 at his store, so Coffee card, whuch covers a medium, plus 25 cents gives you a surplus of .02 cents, . The hostess was asking for .35 cents, the coffee is $1.90? So you tell me what's happening here. Guess I'll just move on and get my coffee for $1.83 and give the staff the extra each and everyday.

so did you order a large or a medium? At first you stated you ordered a large, then you said it was a medium.

Been working in mcdonalds for like 2 months now, I thought my last job has such ### scheduling but after working here...it's hell!
I made it specific that I would give closing shifts a try, for 1 weekend; The dumb manager put me on closing shifts for nearly the full 2months now. I'm so screwed in school, working 8-4a.m. fri-sun sucks donkey dick when you've got school Monday-Thursday at 6a.m. (College Student). I've complained like 50+ times already to the person in charge of scheduling but they just blow it off like nothing.

we had to go thru drive thru and all entrance doors were blocked off, operator got both our orders wrong, we finally got our orders and i asked for a receipt, 1st operator said she would print one out we could pick it up with our orders, when we got our orders no receipt, and not only that the supervisor comes over and says all our registers are offline could we please park and came back later? how the hell did they collect our money and give change, and how can i park and collect receipt as both doors were blocked? we feel we were blown off as soon as we bought the food is this too be expected because the operators are 16yo's and supervisors are 20yo's? everything nowadays is fast, fast, fast, no customer service.i have no photos for proof.

I've witness one of the managers acidently spill orange juice Inan employee's eye while the manager was changing theirOrange juice machine. When the employee brought It to the shift manager attention the manager said I don't care. All I seen was the main manager run up behind this young Employee which name tag said jacquelyn and said go ahead and clock out. Your not cussing at my managers meanwhile this lady didt say a thing. As the employee punch out and walk out the mangers both started laughing at this employee while they had me wait 5 minutes to order. I did notice the name tags on the mangers and they were sylvia And the other manager was a tall Indian. Its bad enough this location has bad service but I really thought anything was
NOT funny and unprofessional.
