Arrived at the Wyndham Airport Cleveland at 4277 W 150th St, Cleveland, OH 44135 on 8/1/2024 and had significant and many issues. There were so many that I wanted to document them before I forgot:
8/1/24:
Someone was walking through the hotel with a lawnmower. This game m my first pause.
The entire location smells of mold and old laundry, especially in each room.
Arrived at the location and checked in and the cards did not work on the door. I went to the front desk twice without getting a resolution. The attendant at the front desk finally got someone’s attention, I assume, in maintenance and he was able to come up and see that my cards did not work. He opened the room to observe the heat and that the AC was not working. They moved me to another RM (321) and the AC was minimal, the toilet was loose and leaking on the floor, and there was no wi-fi so I could not work. I again asked them to move me to another room and was told that I would be moved upon my return from Canton.
Got back from Canton to find we had not been moved, but the room was cool enough to stay the night. Asked to be moved the following day.
8/2/24:
I got a call around noon from the front desk informing me that we could move. Got to the front desk and was told to wait for 5 minutes. 20 minutes later asked them for an update. I was then told that they could not yet find me accommodations. My son and I also found a bottle of Astroglide underneath the bed. I took it to the front desk and told them this was in my room and asked if anyone had truly cleaned the room before we arrived. They apologized and we left for the day with all of our belongings in hopes of getting another room upon our return.
We returned to find that we had been assigned Rm 577. We took our things to Rm 577 to find it better in terms of AC and wi-fi, but the smell of mold is even stronger.
I feel that this significantly impacted my visit to Cleveland/Canton and that the location should not utilize the Wyndham name. I travel monthly for business for TC Energy in Houston and often use the Wyndham and have never had a bad experience before this one. This makes me extremely skeptical when booking Wyndham location in the future.
I have a feeling this is not the first time a professional who travels often has written this kind of correspondence about this location. It should be moved from an option for United Packages, in my humble opinion.
