I stayed one night at this substandard Super 8 motel on Sept 15, 1909. I just saw it and checked in. I gave them my Wyndham Rewards number and the clerk said nothing about any special rate or non qualifying rate and that the stay would be honored. There was a charge of $71.27 on my Amex card which is more than it was worth.
When I inquired at customer service for Wyndham Rewards about no points they said it was a low non qualifying rate and not eligible for reward points. They supposedly checked with the motel and said I could call the manager there, etc. I said if I have to put up with this crap, why don't you just cancel my account. Without hesitation they complied. I can only assume that they don't need members and am personally happy that I won't have to spend any more nights in substandard Days Inns, Super 8ts, or Ramada Inns.

Do you have any idea what the regular rate was for that night? If the regular rate for that night was extremely high and I'm talking over 200.00/night, your stay should have qualified for points. To my knowledge, the only rates that don't qualify is employee rates, and at a Super 8, i'm pretty sure that they don't sell rooms for much more than what you paid. Something doesn't sound right with this one. By the way, properties pay for the points that customers get through staying with them, some properties are not putting in reward numbers purposefully for this reason!

I've gotten points for staying at Super 8 before, at a low rate, and I think this person should have, too. Last year, I bought a promotional room package for $149.00, and was told I could cancel at any time. "Any time" according to Wyndham now means within 2 weeks, in writing, after the sale. Yet, I know for sure that I questioned the customer service rep. about cancelling at any time, he assured me I could cancel anytime within the year (the package is good for a year). Apparently, Wyndham didn't record that portion of the convo. I just now talked to one of the other reps. to cancel and she said I only had 2 weeks from the sale, she then played a tape of my sale where the guy reads the terms and conditions. There is a sentence about a money back guarantee within 2 weeks, but it also says it may be "cancelled at any time." I told the lady I would report them to our attorney general in my state and hung up. I don't know if it worth going through the whole process with our AG, I would probably spend more than the $149.00 just on gas alone to go up there to meet with the people, which is probably what I would have to do. So I just donated $149.00 of my money to Wyndham basically.

ND Travler, you know, when you take that tour, you are given $150.00 back in cash. That $149.00 is to make sure you are present for the Timeshare Tour. It's more profitable to have you there in the high pressure sales of Timeshares Tour than $150.00.

Really? Pretty sure the Hotel Del Coranodo wasn't even charging $70.00 in 1909.

Wyndham Rewards is committing fraud by encouraging reservations through its website, and then denying points after your stay by saying that the rate did not qualify, even though there was no mention of what qualifies and what does not. Anyone want to join a class action lawsuit agains Wyndham for fraud and misleading advertising?

Same thing happened with me too. I redeemed my points. Got the confirmation email with my points detail. When I reach to hotel. they said that I made normal reservation and they are going to charge money. I showed them my confirmation email. they promised that it will get resloved. Now their customer swervice and even supervisor is saying the same thing that I made reservation with my credit card and I didn't use my points. I have email confirmation that clearly shows that points has been used.
I am with you for any class action lawsuit against them.

I just checked my points, only to see that in December they took them all away. They said it was due to inactivity. I have stayed and used my points card in member hotels. I'm steamed about this. I have stayed in some substandard hotels just because I thought I was earning points as opposed to staying similar hotels. Oh, if anyone is interested, DO NOT stay at the Days Inn, Carrier Circle in Syracuse, NY if you like internet access. They don't have it working properly and the computer people they have helping them are inept and liars. (They said it was my computer's fault; since it worked just fine everywhere else, it is them.)

If they had said something about inactivity, I could have challenged them back in December or done something to prevent the points from disappearing. As far as I'm concerned, this is bait and switch.

Wow been staying for a long time with super 8's, just checked my card for some holiday free stays. Nothing, sweet nothing apparently it was cancelled due to in-activity...didn't seem to effect me showing the card when I checked in, no one said a thing. So I've stayed for probably 60+ nights with them thinking I was earning something, just got off the phone with them and was told to contact the hotels and see if they would put the points on...wtf, welcome to the 90's uses your computer and see when and where I stayed, seem to keep records of everything...Would take me hours to dig it all up...

Seriously need to get some customer service, if your offering something the worst thing you could do is screw the customer after. But I guess that's the world we live in now, sad.

I will never be staying at any of their hotels ever again, lots of choices for business and will be telling everyone I know.

I just logged on to my wyndham rewards to find out all my pointa are gone.WTF. I stayed at one of thier properties just to earn the points vs other hotels, I just stayed in March but they said my points were taken because of inactivity.

POINTS STOLEN! Join the club. Inactivity...WTF I now stay at BestWestern, their points never expire{same thing goes for many other reputable chains}. I suggest you all vote with your wallets and book somewhere else.

I stayed at the Super 8 in Mars / Cranberry PA. My reservation was booked through Wyndham rewards. at the AAA rate. I made sure they had my Wyndham rewards number and it was on my receipt and yet the points never showed up in my account. What I discovered is the hotel changed my reservation type from AAA to a rate code of "wholesale" (Note: I still payed the full AAA rate.) That kept me from earning the points and saved the hotel money. I even had the confirmation showing that it was a AAA reservation however that was not important to the Wyndham rewards people. whatever the hotel says goes and if they want to cheat their customers then that is just fine with Wydham rewards. Wyndham Rewards has got to be the worst program out their. They let their hotels cheat their customers and could care less. Its a total ripoff - especially the Super 8 in Cranberry / Mars PA

WOW that just happened to me. I booked our room at the government rate. But when I inquired about why I didn't get my points they said it was because I used a staff discount. I told her i did not use a staff discount because I am not employed by that hotel or any hotel. After checking my reciept it sure did show an employee discount but I paid the rate quoted on the wyndham rewards site when I booked the room. I am now waiting for them to fix it.

When we travel, my partner (opposite sex, but different last names so they can't tell if we're married or not) and I usually use MY points card. However, he really prefers to have the bills that go to his credit card listed under his name, so one time a few years ago, I made the reservation under his name at his request. Well, the particular Wyndham place we were staying (a little dump near the Cleveland airport) insisted that because the reservation and the credit card had HIS last name, we couldn't use my points card. They pretty-well strong-armed us into opening an account for him. He didn't want an account & didn't want to mess around with points. I agreed that I'd handle both of our cards. The motel never indicated that this arrangement wouldn't be allowed, but it's been nothing but trouble. I later learned that these points expire, so now I have to switch back & forth between the 2 cards to keep them both active. But every time I have any question or problem, they refuse to speak to me about his card. I tell them that I'm his partner & handle all this business, but they just tell me that it's a "personal" points card & I can't do business for him. All of this could have been avoided if we'd had the same last name, but they think it's okay to discriminate against people who "might" be unmarried because of different last names. They tell me that he can call in, but that wasn't our deal. He can't be bothered about such things & would prefer that I just give up because they're never going to honor their points program anyway -- at least without being threatened by the Attorney General. Every time I talk to them or e-mail them (numerous times over the past few years), I've ended up in tears. The latest thing was because I couldn't answer the security questions on HIS account. I tried answering them as him & as me & even just a few cute whimsical non-answers, but honestly I don't even remember setting up those questions for his account. I told them to look at their records & see that both of our cards use the same email address (mine), but they keep sticking to the line that it's a "personal" card. The thing is that it's not -- if you have the same last name, you're allowed to use the other person's card because then they assume you're a married couple. And it's a ridiculous line anyhow -- lots of people in relationships or in business divide up their work in such a way that it's someone else who makes their travel plans for them. They tell me that he wasn't "forced" opening an account he didn't want to use, but they weren't at that Cleveland motel -- it was the only way we were going to get the points we'd EARNED. Not that it matters, because they're always trying to keep us from accumulating enough points to get anything anyway. Half of our stays don't even qualify for points because we got a discount or something, & then there's the whole thing with expiring points. Most of the motels of theirs that I've stayed at are basically dumps, although there are a couple that I stay at pretty regularly that really are pretty okay & have nice staff so I'd like to keep giving them my business. I mean, those places actually seem to want my business. But the problem is with the rewards points company because those people are always rude and couldn't care less if I'd ever stay with them again (& always make me cry -- which takes some doing!).

I have some 100, 000 points on my card, because I always used the card when staying to earn points and just collect the points without using it. Anyways, not that I want to redeem my points they are saying, I cant redeem my points. They said that they are too many points so I cant use it, its a slap in the face. I stayed in the qualifying motel, even when it was a little expensive to earn the points.
This is a SCAM from wyndhamrewards.

Same as above on 2 points. We lost 49, 000 because of inactivity without any notice. Tried calling customer service but no help. We re-activated and stayed in a Days Inn Texas an booked 3 nights at a 20% discount, went to check our points and it said non qualifying stay because of the discounted rate. I live and work in Hotels so it looks like we are done with Wyndham Properties. They used to have a good program but it has passed.

Wyndham Rewards is a fiendish scheme. Unlike American Express, Wyndham points expire after 4 years if you do not use them. Hell, it may take over 4 years just to accumulate enough points for a one-night stay. Entire point totals will be deleted after 18 months of no activity. Adding insult to injury, a guest receives no points if they book via Priceline, Expedia and Hotwire. They do not even get credit for at least staying at a Wyndham property.

Wyndham Rewards customer service representatives are made up of outsourced employees who are functionally inept and difficult to communicate with. When you train people to be automatons and pay them $2.00 per hour you get what you pay for. Ask to be transferred to a supervisor and you may get someone from the United States to discuss your complaint.

I stayed at a Wyndham property and did not receive any rewards points. One customer service person attempted to tell me I had received the points but a supervisor confirmed I did not. It is like pulling teeth to try to get them to correct their mistakes.

There are plenty of hotel chains a customer can stay at other than Wyndham. I suggest consumers do just that. If Wyndham doesn’t take care of their customers, rest assured that someone else certainly will.

I stayed 18 nights in Wyndham hotels and got points for 6 of those nights. All 18 nights show up on my rewards account but 12 of those nights were worth 0 points. After staying in Wyndham hotels for 18 nights, I haven't collected enough points for a $25 gift card to Applebee's.

Wyndham throws up obstacles to accumulating and using rewards points. They often insist a password that worked perfectly well is now invalid.
To get a new password, you must phone (doing it online would be too easy and cause people to accumulate or use rewards points) and be prepared to wait a long time for a service rep.
If you use a Wyndham hotel, don't expect to get or use rewards points.
W. rewards is a scam.

Wyndham Rewards is a scam for email address sale. the points are a fake. The people who answer the phone are non English speaking and cannot help with real concerns. I tried to redeem points before they expire, the bottom of barrel hotel wants 75, 000 points for one night then you get charged on your credit card anyway. Stay away from Wyndham or at least the expectation of a free night stay. nothing is ever free

I've travel for business almost all year and only have stayed in Wyndham hotels for accumulate points for free weeks. I would earn them after months them immediately after i earned enough points for one week I would use them. 2 years ago I never had one problem. Now I'm in a days inn in Ft Lauderdale, Fl. I've been here for a consecutive 8 months with no gaps. And weekly I would check my points and they would never change. Note, I did check in this hotel through Wyndham so I can gain points I thought as usual. But being so busy I could never get time to spent to anyone at the front desk but an illiterate [censored] that would last a week before they were fired or quit then dealt with a different illiterate [censored]. So I asked the front desk for receipts for every week of stay that I've been at this hotel or motel rather and faxed them all to Wyndham myself after two weeks I only received 3800 points! WHAT! Immediately noticing this, I call Wyndham and I get ran around about this and that for about 20 minutes. So i asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. I was put on hold for 10 minutes and a "Robert" answers the phone and acts like he cannot hear me and then lol I was asked to answer a survey about Wyndham and this call I which wasn't good at all. And that's as far as I got. RIDICULOUS! Idk If Wyndham changed there management or even cooperate officials but not its the biggest scam I' have ever seen. After this I will never stay in another Wyndham hotel ever again. If anyone knows how I can climb to the top and speak to a cooperate official about this I would appreciate any help I can get.

I have stayed in many Wyndham hotels over the years but never opened a rewards account until my last stay. I stayed 3 nights in a Super 8 Motel in Savannah GA during March 2016 and was unable to collect my reward points. I contacted customer service and was informed that my stay did not qualify because I booked my stay through another travel site and not their web site. Does it really matter who you make the reservations through? The end result was that I stayed in their hotel and made them money. I have several other trips scheduled this year and my Wyndham reservations made. After my dealing with Wyndham customer service I canceled my future reservations and re-booked not on their site so I can collect their petty points but with another company. "GOODBYE WYNDHAM" and I will be sure to pass the word.

Please read below when the Days Inn in Richburg SC screwed up my points for multiple weeks and I contacted
Wyndham Rewards and they told me to send copies of my receipts so they could correct them.

I wonder when I talked to Wyndham Rewards why they told me to send in my receipts so they could correct them, I tried multiple times on line but the site didn't work and I finally faxed them. I'm am now wondering
why I wasted the time. I'm also wondering why I am paying the price for something that your hotel did, I asked them to correct it multiple time's and each week they still got it wrong and they sent my to you, even my name is not correct the last couple of weeks. This is hard to comprehend to a person that rents 5 to 7 rooms three to four nights a week all year. Maybe you should train your hotel staff how to correct their own mistakes instead of having a paying customer eat them. Guess I will have to reconsider my motel choices.

The first five minutes of being on hold is a sales / advertising program to promote their services... Then you get a foreigner from (guess where) who spends another 5 minutes confirming you data and asking you for more data and then saying a computer will confirm everything that you just told them without getting to your problem...HORRIBLE SERVICE

I checked into a hotel in Port Aransas super 8 and as soon as I walked in the room there were roaches on the floor of my room. Completely discussing and I hope this gets resolved I am not happy and will not consider this hotel ever again

After waving our account information under our noses Thursday 9/8/2022 Wife and I went back today to get it and were denied! Mr Big at the computer told us it was for His and "louie's" use ONLY. OWNERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE A PRINT OUT! After 25 years with Wyndam and around $70,000 and we are NOT ALLOWED! GARGAGE!

To whom it may concern,

I stayed at the days inn on ash street downtown San Diego and it was hair on base boards and shower was dirty. I stay there slot and this was the worse I’ve seen it. I have photos as well. I’m a Gold member and I’m requesting refund in full fir my stay. My cell number is [protected].
