My father passed away on June 3, 23. He has 7 CD accounts with Academy Bank located on 87 St in Lenexa and 65th St in Shawnee KS. Between July 26, 23 thru August 4, 23, my siblings and I went to the Shawnee location to complete beneficiary forms to close and withdraw the money from my father’s CD accts. We signed the necessary forms provided by the bank, submitted death certificate, and ID. We are listed as the beneficiaries on those accounts. We still have yet to receive our money. I emailed the branch manager but she has not responded, been over a week now. They told my siblings the process is “backlogged.” Out of those 7 accounts, my brothers name is on those 2 accounts. He still cannot get the money from those accounts. I feel this is a delay tactic by the bank to make it difficult for us to withdraw our money. My father had other accounts in 4 other banks. We were able to close those accounts and received all the money in 14 days.
Desired outcome: We want our money.
Customer service
The older white woman at the Platte Avenue location in Colorado Springs is straight up unprofessional. A profile Nazi is what I'll call her. Everytime I come to this location this lady more or less accuses me of forgery. my mom writes me checks that I have to cash through this specific bank, not this specific location. Today she decided to discriminate me behind another teller who was doing her job the right way. That poor young lady apologized over and over again while the rude older woman kept running her mouth. My mother is extremely upset as they were professionally rude to her for complaining. If you want to eat treated like crap and put your hard earned money in a Bank where they'll abuse you in more ways than one, then academy bank at Platte Avenue in the Walmart is open just for you

I went to the Fountain, CO branch inside of Walmart on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 around 4:15pm with the intention of opening 2 basic minor savings accounts. I had checked ahead of time to ensure I had the correct paperwork. I approached the teller line when called up and stated my intentions and the lady gave me a look which at first I took as she didn't want to help me. Later I realized it was because she didn't know how to open a Basic Savings account for a minor. The lady's name tag said her name was Debra C. and that she was the Branch Manager. At first she had some issues with one or two of her programs not working. She attempted to get her coworker to "tag team it with her" (Debra's words). The coworker took some of my paperwork and attempted to start the process but kept stopping to help other customers walking up. (which is fine because Debra should have been helping me and the coworker should have been focused on the teller line) At one point when Debra and the coworker were discussing my accounts they kept saying the minors were not old enough for a Student Checking account. I corrected them multiple times stating I wanted a Basic Savings account for minors and again they were talking about the Student Checking account and how the minors weren't old enough for the account. I pulled up the accounts on my phone and showed the requirements of the Student Savings and showed it to Debra. She picked up the phone, called someone and they told her to open a Student Savings (which I had just showed her!). Debra continued to not listen to me and was entering incorrect information into the system for me and the minors. Coming up on an hour of sitting there the coworker needed an over ride, Debra went to complete that and saw one person waiting in line and left me to go help them. When Debra came back I informed her I needed to go and didn't realize it would take this long to open one basic account. Debra replied "Well we're almost done". Against my better judgment I stayed and 30-40 minutes later I was still there with nothing to show for it. She got stuck at one point and called 3 or 4 people (who was unable to help her). She was instant messaging someone on her computer and still received no help. After over an hour and a half I was extremely frustrated and insisted I get all of my paperwork back because I really had to go.
I sat there for an hour and a half got absolutely nothing done. The Branch Manager has no idea how to open a Basic Savings account for a minor. Isn't this something that should be required of all your staff on the teller line? This is absolutely ridiculous! This was a complete waste of my time.
On a side note, the coworker had a very low cut shirt and he breasts were spilling out of her shirt, especially when she bent over - this is completely unprofessional and she should not be wearing clothes like that in a place of business.
Desired outcome: Train the Branch Manager on how to open basic and all accounts in a timely manner. Provide resources and procedures for the manager to utilize if she forgets how to open accounts. Enforce proper, professional dress codes for the workplace.
ATM stole my money
To Whom It May Concern,
Sometime in August-September 2022, I attempted to deposit what I thought was $200.00 in your ATM< in Walmart, Commerce City, CO. The ATM screen showed I was depositing $180.00. When I pressed the "return cash" button, your ATM only returned $60.00. I left a note for the bankers that evening at the teller window and returned the next day to discuss it with the manager. She told me that when the ATM department comes to service the machine, they would deposit the funds into my account. About a month later I noticed no money had been deposited and went back to discuss it with the bank manager, Alyissa. She then told me I had to fill out a dispute form. I did not remember the exact date therefore your dispute department has not been of any assistance.
I feel that my atm card number can be used to find out when this issue happened. Also, I would like to think that the ATM department would have noticed a money discrepancy at the time and reported it. If they have not then you have dishonest employees in said department.
This incident definitely occurred and it caused my account to overdraft a couple hundred dollars thru a snowball effect. I tired of getting the runaround from your bank and plan to report this to the better business bureau if it is not resolved. In this day and age it should be no problem to locate this issue in your ATM. I have been told by a bank employee that this has happened before.
I have been a customer for over ten years and deserve to have this issue investigated and resolved. Thank you for your time.

Issue New User Registration
I opened an account last week. Tried to register online couldn’t gain access. Login I.D says every I.D I entered is Not Available. I called C.S Tamika couldn’t help me and told me to wait on a call from Academy Bank. They never called. 6 days later in the middle of my move and STILL cannot create a login to access my account
I didn’t get my whole amount of my money

my account had a very slim overdraft due and i had no activity for roughly a month because of my employer but since then that has been resolved and i am gaining my regular paychecks once again. the thing is i only get paid 2 times a month and just had my last check deposited on my paydate and it went through but just lowered my overdraft to a smaller amount. then it tells me that it has been charged off and here it is payday a day later where my paycheck should of been in the account and paid off the rest of what was due and brought my account back to a positive amount

I had to get a new debit card since mine expired. Nothing but headaches since. It would work for a bit then stopped..would work at some places not others. I try to add my card to my YouTube account and to send money through messenger and Apple Pay but it says card is not supported. I call and they say nothing they can do. They say the company is going through issues and this is a common occurrence and nothing can do until they get it started. I find that crazy and a bit unbelievable that a company would have a system that messes with how most people pay for items throughout the day. I am seriously considering just switching banks.

My husband had an account with Academy Bank in 2015. It was closed when overdrafted, and turned over to collections. Since we discovered it was in Chex systems we have tried to pay off the balance and clear the acct. We call academy over and over, they transfer us to people that can't find the balance, or don't know what theyre even doing. We have spent weeks trying to clear this up, and people at academy are rude and extremely unhelpful.
late payment reports and a written off account
I closed an account due to possible fraud transactions with my checking account per a letter received about my info being possibly being leaked. No one advised that my automated payments for my loan would need to be updated to the new account, So I assumed that it would update automatically. I had discovered that my payments for my loan weren't coming out, I called in and made a payment from the new account that Academy Bank opened for me and also advised to be sure that the payment we're coming from my correct account. I was also told multiple times that my old account was closed and never ever did anyone alert me on any kind of negative account nor did any teller advise me that my loan was not getting taken care of. Now I have late payments and on top of that a charge off that I new nothing about. I feel this company is a scam. I joined this bank to work on improving my credit due to a rough time from a bad marriage and they have managed to make it worse. I am a veteran and very disappointed and sad that I put trust into this company. There is a disconnect every where with company.

On November 20, 2019, I spoke to one of your customer service agents. I have had an account with Academy for over 15 years. During the spring of 2019 I was told my account was too old and I needed to be switched to a new account. They opened the new account as a restored account. I asked your customer service why and she said because my account was charged off in 2015. This is absolutely not true. My account 1725345 was active until the day I switched to the new account 3547 in April of 2019. I am very frustrated and disappointed with customer service. I have multiple automatic deposits with your bank. All I wanted was for my overdraft opened to avoid any of my bills declining. I've been charged multiple overdraft fees and then the declines and I'm charged another fee with that company.
Unfortunately, your customer service was inadequate because the information they relayed to me on 11/20/2019 is false. I have spoken to many of your representatives as well as the bank employees and this false charge off has never been mentioned until yesterday. I am disappointed because I have trusted AcademyBank with my income for a very long time.

I tired taking 220.00 out of my account the money was never dispensed. I called customer service the representative laughed and told me that I have to file a dispute. I filed a dispute it's been over a week I have yet to receive a provisional credit. This is just the worse bank I have ever dealt with. Hold times are hours. I really feel like this is fraudulent they are doing this same exact thing to several customers!
