I withdrew $650.00 and 7370.00 from my accounts at Academy Bank. Then as a seperate transaction i purchased 2 cashiers checks in those amounts. I deposited the cashiers checks in to my other accounts at a different bank. Two weeks later Academy Bank calls my other bank and says that i put a stop payment on those checks, which I did not. Now I have no idea where those funds are and it has thrown my accounts at the other bank into the negative and those accounts have been closed. Is it legal for academy to do this? I paid cash for those cashier's checks. So am I entilted a refund? Academy bank says that I did not have the funds to purchase those checks. If I did not have funds then why was I allowed to first withdraw the money and then purchase those checks? I still have alomst $2000 in my savings account at Academy and they will not let me withdraw and close the account. Now I have no money at all and I have things I need to pay for. Can anyone help me?

On Thanksgiving evening my husband and I were standing in line for Black Friday deals at Best Buy. Finally sales start we get the item we want and stood in line for several hours for, alls we need to do is pay! Right? Card declined. Super embarrassed! Come to find out From my account website my gas charge presented 22 times taking just shy of $1000 from my account leaving me -2.00. So as mad as I am I don't panick it's an error. Friday morning I call the 1-800 number and am placed on a 25min + long hold so I call my local branch and the manager took my call and says its a software error she will call me back when she can take care of it. After 30 mins I went to the branch where she fixed it in 2 mins. She acted as if she did me a favor but through our a sorry at the end. No compensation no email letting us know this was a bank error and how sorry they are for the inconceivence Nothing! This bank sucks I do not recommend this bank for anyone..
If interested I hired attorney for illegally changing transaction history number is [protected] call please
Compensation? Are you stupid? What, did you want them to give you extra money? If they fixed the problem, move on with your life.
You can not stop payment on a cashier's check, so someone made a mistake somewhere.

The simple answer is that a stop payment is NOT permitted on a cashier's check, teller's check, or certified check regardless of the reasoning behind it! Section 3.411 of the UCC imposes damages against a bank that wrongfully refuses to honor a cashier's, teller's or certified check or stops pay on one of those.
