Anyone ever seen a Allegiant Flight Attendant reading, doing crosswords, smoking or any other non- work related duty while on duty?

problems with plane
hey i was just there on saturday june 27th and we got on the plane great and stuff then taking off was a disaster we thought we were going to die but thankfuly someone said to go back. then we get back and they tell us to wait and see what hapens for like an hour or so then they tell us that it is delayed and come back tommorow at eight thirty. shouldent we habe an earlier time since we got cancelled i mean i have to go on vacation for a week. not only that but the arangments when they had to figure out what to do they were horiable at that and when people asked to get a flight for tommorow they said it is all taken. dont u guys have ur planes checked often or do u just let them go arent planes all supposed to be inspected regularly. the people at the desk were u can make arangments dident know what to do. it was just all a disaster at least were alive. guess that is what u get for going on a cheap airline. and the fees are ridic. i could have gone to philly which is more nicer and gotten there earlier.

fee for gate pass
My daughter is 12 and a seasoned air traveler. We bought her a ticket on Allegiant Air to fly from Rapid City to Phoenix. The price was, probaly too good to be worth it. Had I known then what I know now, none of us will ever travel with this Airline.
6/27/2009 9:30 (MDT) Rapid City Regional Airport- Allegiant Air-Rapid City, SD
Her grand mother took her to the airport and checked in. She asked for a gate pass to take my daughter back to the gate. Allegiant Air refused stating we do not give gate passes, but for another $100 dollars you can buy a unacompied minor ticket and you will allowed to go with her to the gate. Again she stated; she's 12 yrs old I just to make sure she get on the plane ok.
My mother in law then asked to speak with supervisor, who stated the same thing as the ticket agent did. My mother in law again repeated why, the supervisior then got and said we need $100 so you can take her to the gate.
I have never heard of such a thing. I called multiply airlines and not single one, except for Allegiant Air is charging for gate passes.

That's ridiculous...either u did not explain yourself clearly or you are so full of it. No airline chages for gate passes.
crappy policies and service!
Just a lil heads up. Dont get starry eyed, about low air fare prices from Allegiant Air. My daughter was invited on a trip to Florida with a friend, who has flown many times before and knows the ropes.. Well.. Tickets were cheap enough, so what the heck, Becky is 17 and they will be staying with family member of her friend.
Well the trip down seemed to go flawless.. The plane was to leave at 7:20 we arrived at 6 pm got in line for the check in procedure, all went with out a hitch.. checked in approx. 6:50 she was on the plane at 7 and it took off at 7:20 like clock work!
She had a great time, took lots of pictures got to watch the sunset on the beach... then the time comes to come home...
I talked to her via text message at about 3:20, she had just arrived the St Petersburg airport and was standing in line along with all the other travelers, they notice as they inch along (after about an hour) that the counter at Allegiant air had shut off its lights, well the freinds Aunt ran up and approached the counter to ask what was up that there were people in line waiting to be checked and that she had a Kid that had a ticket and needed on the flight. The counter employee told her that the flight had already boarded and left 20 mins prior. At 5:13 my daughter phones me from the Allegiant air counter and I could hear the employee giving her the too bad so sad routine. I asked to speak with them and they gave me the routine i apologize crap and said the plane had already left WHEN it wasnt scheduled to leave UNTIL 5:15. So now I have a hysterical daughter who needs to get home standing in an airport 800 some odd miles away sobbing because she just wants to come home.
I call the main number for allegiant air and they FLAT REFUSED to help us at all.. I tried to explain as calmly and maturely as I possibly could what happened and could they please make her ticket good for the next flight into Lexington, I was told that her ticket was regarded as a no show and that it was non refundable and they could not do anything. I tried to reason with them telling them that she was a minor stranded because their plane left early and that the counter people didnt do enough to make sure passengers were on the plane.
So now my dilemma is how to get her home. I checked out other flights different airlines, and everything was way to expensive. So my husband and I thought about a bus ticket. I go on line purchase her a ticket and she is now on the Bus and I have to travel to Atlanta to pick her up. I will be leaving about 2:30 in the morning.
Now if you think all this was bad.. HERE is the kicker, for poops and giggles I go on the Allegiant air site and track her flight... according to the web site.. the flight did NOT DEPART UNTIL 5:27 pm.. So that tells me while I was on the phone with the counter employee at 5:13, the plane had not left.. more than likely it was still boarding! Their people in my opinion are VERY incompetent! They've cost me double what it should have and their customer service is Terrible and uncaring. This has been a nightmare. Please pray that I make to Atlanta and back safely!

I don't know if it's any consolation or not, but I've flown on Allegiant Airlines many times and sometimes it depends on where you are flying from that can make a difference. One airport requested that I be there no later than 30 minutes from take off time, another airports request stated that you must check in 2 hours prior. Now 2 hours seems like a long time and since I only had to be at another airport 30 mins prior, it didn't make a lot of sense to me. But I did it anyway and when I got there 2 hrs early, there was a very long line for several other Allegiant flights. Although I don't agree that they should have left a minor child stranded, that almost sound illegal, I'm not understanding why so many other were in line as well. Were all the other people in line waiting for the same Allegiant flight? I'm not familiar with St. Petersburg airport, but all the Allegiant flights I have taken have a very small check in area and only have lines for Allegiant.
service
Trying to book online? Forget about it, i was forced to call them to book. Go figure they charge more to book via phone! The rep was to email itineraries, after not getting anything by the next day, I called again. Only to get a recording eventually telling me they are experiencing a high number of calls and cannot get to me. Then just hung up on me. I tried calling back six more times only to receive the same thing. My next attempt I actually talked with someone, tried anyway. First of all I could hardly hear this person, and because I couldn't hear her very well she got snotty with me, was rude and then hung up on me. Making me go through this fiasco of simply trying to get some assistance. My experience thus far with them has been terrible. All fees that I suddenly aquired through them, the customer service, I'm almost afraid to even get on the plane to take the trip I just booked!

I made the mistake of flying Allegiant Air, make sure you don't make the same mistake. I arrived in mesa and the flight was 2 hours late. This made me miss the concert I was flying to attend. I have a heart condition and was flying out of mesa in the heat of the desert summer. we were stuck on the plane before taking off. I was feeling faint and requested water and was refused unless I wanted to pay for water. They do not care about your health condition. I highly advise anyone with a health condition fly another airlines. Allegiant Air will only take care of you if you pay them. I was a few minutes late for my return flight, the plane was still there and they would not allow me to board the flight. This caused me a 5 hour drive to a major airport in Portland, 2 days of missed work and an additional $400 to get a one way flight home. Then because they do not fly into major airports I had to pay to get back to the mesa airport and pick up my car.
I called customer service and it took a month to get a reply. their response was that they are not responsible for health conditions. GOD help you if something serious happens! When I finally got to the corporate office I was treated badly and talked down to. I was told health conditions are not their concerns. They did not care that they cost me an additional $400 and to loose 2 days of work. You are not allowed to finish your sentence the customer service agent talks over you and the only thing you are allowed to say is what they request of you.It is like a bad drill Sargent. They win the award for poor communication skills. If you object and request that you be allowed to speak you are told you are communicating incorrectly. expect to be hung up on. they were not concerned about any of the problems they caused me.
they finally issued me a voucher, however you cannot have a copy of your voucher. you have to keep calling in to use it. I now have 2 weeks to use a voucher for a mere $89 dollars. I spoke with a representative, Sonya, in the corporate office, who was out of control. I asked to speak to her manager and she told me she would transfer me while badgering me then hung up on me without connecting me. This caused me an additional hours work trying to get back to a corporate number from their 800 number. they will not transfer you and tell you they will call you back. It doesn't happen.
what you can expect, is to be charged extra fees either for booking on line or on the phone. you will be told your hold time is 3 minutes. 25 minutes later you will be wonder how time flys. you will not be compensated for your loss and you will be treated with disrespect. The amount of time you will spend trying to give this clueless company some idea of how they can improve their customer service is not worth the effort. i suggest to fly a carrier who cares if you have a health concern and who cares what happens to you.
bait and switch
My friend and I decided to go to vegas together. We book the same exact flight on the same days same times. I enter my credit card info into the site and hit confirm. The website says, "Im sorry this flight is no longer availible at this price." My friend gets a confirmation number and his flight is booked. I go back and try to redo my details and find that the price went up $60.00. Classic scam. DO NOT USE ALLEGIANTAIR.

What kramer has posted above is untrue! I went to Allegiant's website looking at fares from PHX to FSD for Thanksgiving week. The flight I wanted was listed as $109 when I checked on Oct. 23, but I didn't have time to book it then. So I checked back on Oct. 25, and it was $159! Fearing that it was going to be $209 the next time I checked, I booked it. Unfortunately, my daughter checked today (the ticket was for her) and it was BACK DOWN TO $109. I called Allegiant but the phone rep was very surly. She would have to rebook the flight, but I would lose my convenience fee and some other fee (Allegiant LOVES fees). So it would cost me $30 bucks to get the $50 lower fare. But before I could say anything, she hung up on me. Maybe a blessing. One interesting thing...this phone rep apparently is the CEO of the company. I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she said she is the supervisor! There's no one there who is more senior than her...no one else I could talk to. It's sad when businesses lose customers this way. I had never flown Allegiant before, and this was their oppotunity to make an impression, which they certainly did!
All airlines use a pricing model that increases the fares with demand. This is simple supply and demand economics and has been in place as long as modern civilization.
I'll give you a generalized example, this does not reflect actual pricing:
An airplane holds 150 passengers.
The first 50 seats are available for 50 dollars. The Next 60 seats are available for 100 dollars, the remaining 40 seats go for 150 dollars..
If you purchased the 50th seat on the flight, and 2 seconds later your friend hits submit on that same ticket, the 51st ticket must be sold for 100 dollars, and you assume it is a bait and switch.. Every airline in the US has the same pricing model.. Most Sabre based reservations actually code the tickets in a "class" for example a y-class ticket and a S-Class ticket. Both tickets are for the same flight and same cabin, but the Y-Class ticket costs less because there are a limited amount available.
This model promotes maximum load factor while achieving maximum profitability..
It is not unique to Allegiant Air or any other airline..
So... Basically... Don't hate the "Playah" hate the "game"
Beeyatch!
theft by inappropriate penalties
They don't just seem like a train wreck. They are. If you have to make any schedule changes or a cancellation, whether due to death, sickness, whatever, they become pickpockets. Make sure you encourage readers to check the "frequently asked questions" that most people would never think of unless the unexpected happens. If you make a change, or cancel, no difference, their fees ofter can be twice as much as the original cost of the flight. My mother-in-law's hospitalization just cost us more than $600 for flights my inlaws now can't take and my wife's return flight she couldn't take. $600 stolen in my view, and now my wife still has to make arrangements for a flight home from Hagerstown, MD, to Florida. I think these guys are thieves. You have to search for it, but read about their Terms and Conditions, and you'll think twice about using them.

fees and gratuity begging
Besides all of the added fees Allegiant air tries to charge (slip in without you reading the fine print) the employees who check you in say they don't get paid at all and work on gratuity only. We didn't even have any checked bags but we gave him money anyway and then thought duhhhh why would Allegiant not pay their employees? I wonder if they even claim this as income?

Skycaps are not employees of Allegiant Air. They work for either the ground handler or the airport.
closes ticket counter early
I recently booked a flight with Allegiant Air over Labor Day Weekend, not realizeing it was Labor Day. I was going from Las Vegas to Monterey CA to visit my brother who lived in Santa Cruz. Everything was fine until I was to return on Sunday, and my flight was to leave at 3:05pm I left Santa Cruz at 12:30 which I thought should have been plenty of time...it was bumper to bumper...I called the rental car office and they said, "don't worry about the car just leave it out front and throw us the keys" which was very nice for them to be so accomdating. I ran to the ticket counter and it was 2:35, no one around? I asked a US Airways agent and he said that they had called for someone to come to the counter because there where about 5 other customers wanting to get on board the flight to Las Vegas. This American Egale Agent came back to the counter at 3:12, we were all very upset. This India Man named Ali was so rude I could not believe it! I had to purchase a oneway ticket from US Airways for 200 bucks because I needed to be at home the next day. I have been flying Allegiant for several years and I have told many many people about them, but not anymore...This same exact thing just happened to a friend of mine who drove from San Jose Ca to Monterey to catch a flight to Las Vegas and she arrived there at 2:40 and the agents refused to come to the counter to allow her to board the airplane and she is watching passengers board the plane and they wouldn't allow her because she was, "Late"! This is crap! One of the other complainants who wrote earlier sure got it right, "you get what you pay for"! I have had it with Allegiant. They also damaged property that was in my luggage and their response was basically, "Tough"! I am going to tell everyone I know NOT to fly this airline and I am going to pass this and the other emails along to everyone I can to promote this airline demise~! How dare they treat their customoers in this manner!
Disgruntled Customer
Similar situation happened to me on Allegiant Airlines. I have never had to arrive at airport 2 HOURs prior to departure, but was told by Allegiant Airlines I could not get on my flight 45 minutes prior to departure. I asked if I could apply $ toward a different flight, fly standby and was told firmly "no, I would forfeit all of my money" READ THE FINE PRINT. This discount airline will get your money or your time somehow..trust me.
I scheduled a trip to Blaine Washington from Palm Springs for my wife to spend her birthday with our grand children. I booked the flight 3 weeks ahead of time, and surprised her with the planned trip the morning of her departure.
On April 1st, 2010 arriving at the check in counter of Allegiant Air in Palm Springs at 10:37am for a flight scheduled for departure at 11:20am (43 minutes before departure) we were informed by the agent assisting a family of 4 (the father was wrapping his Coleman cooler with duct tape) just ahead of us that the counter was now closed, that we were considered a "NO SHOW" and we would not be allowed to check in and that we had forfeited our air fare. At first, I thought this was just a bad April fool’s joke. To my AMAZEMENT, it was not.
As we argued our importance of boarding this flight, another passenger scheduled for this flight, a young mother, with an infant daughter, whose husband was based out of the local 29 Palms Marine Base and was serving duty in Iraq, joined us in line to check in. This young girl was traveling to Blaine Washington to be with her mother who was in the hospital and was scheduled for stage 4 cancer surgery the following day. She explained her situation to the agent, asked for reconsideration to her boarding this flight, as she could not afford to forfeit her fare, and could not afford the additional $258.00 fare for the flight departing the following evening.
Keep in mind, Palm Springs Airport, even though it is considered an International Airport, is neither a very busy airport, it is also designed as a rather small, easy to maneuver airport. I have flown out of the facility numerous times because of its convenience, and ability to move thru quickly. I am certain we could have been at the boarding gate with time to spare to board this plane.
On witnessing this poor display of customer service, 2 couples, waiting to check in at the competitor airline (WestJet) next to the Allegiant Air counter came over and purchased the ticket necessary for this young girl to travel to see her mother the following evening. A TRUE ACT OF HUMAN KINDNESS! Much unlike the way the agent from Allegiant Air had treated us. I truly feel this agent got pleasure out of denying my wife and this young mother boarding, as she had a bit of a smirk on her face during the entire episode. Her only rebuttal was that we obviously had not read the Terms and Conditions of Allegiant when we purchased our tickets.
I will admit I did not know the airline REQUIRED a 2 hour check in time prior to departure…which seems rather extreme considering this particular airport. I think it necessary they find a way, besides the fine print in their T’s & C’s to inform their customers of such an unusual requirement. I also feel, if a passenger does not arrive with the RERQUIRED check in time, they at LEAST be given the opportunity to move through the security screening and attempt to get to the gate prior to departure. If at that point, we fail to catch the plane, shame on us for missing the flight.
Don’t take my word for it…check out the reviews of this airline on www.rateitall.com. You will see ALL airlines rated, and Allegiant has the most reviews to date (153) with the worst rating (2.35 of 5 stars) of all the airlines.
Needles to say, this is by far the worst display of customer service on the part of ANY company I have ever experienced!
passenger handling
Do not fly Allegiant Airlines, we experienced a once in a lifetime, horrible ordeal with them. We checked in over two hours prior to our flight only to be told that our carry- on was "now" over there length requirement, "new policy",
so we had to take our bags back and rearrange to comply, which we did. Of course the plane was delayed from 6:00 departure to 8:00 because of "mechnical problems". Are we seeing a common them here?
In the course of exchanges of our items due to the new policy I asked my husband "What should I do? because you are only allowed one item of reading material and I had school books I needed to keep on my person, he replied with "I don't know" we did not have any conversation with the counter people, except to get one bag back to do some rearranging, as I turned away to go to a seating area to rearrange my baga my water bottle tossed to the ground. Here is were it would be funny if you can possibly believe this one, my husband who was still at the counter (behind me) was supposedly the target of my water bottle(we would find out this piece of nonsense much later). Would anyone like to comment on that one? He was behind me and I going the other way, my water bottle hit the floor in front of me and there was no one around that specific area. It gets better, my husband doesn't want to go through security because we have about four hours to wait and the Tri Cities Airport in Pasco, Washington is just a few gates once you clear security, so we sat on the "couches" RIGHT in front of where you would past through security for over an hour, this would one odd place for unruly people to sit, as time wore on we chose to get a drink, while my husband periodcially checked the status of the plane, finally they told him we should go through security by 6:15 because there where two other flights going out (different carriers) and it could cause security to run behind. It gets even better my husband passes through security, myself and another lady pass through, and some " lady airport cop" stops us (not my husband) and starts talking about "a problem", I just said I don't know what you are talking about and assumed that it had something to do with the other woman. She said I just ask about the delay situation. Well that did not end it, I guess lady cop was having a bad day and decided to get in my face, trying to egg it on, her words were along the lines of "we can take it there", what ever that means? I just looked at her, so she goes down to the counter and has Steve & Stephanie from Allegiant try to allege that I was intoxicated, which Steve later denied he ever said, but he did, and he would have had to because we had the receipt from the restaurant and the server could confirm if push came to shove. So we have established Steve is a liar and later we will find that he has a very bad anger management, too (but that comes later). We are still being cooperate (I don't know why) and then they tell us we will board last and requested our boarding passes, but we heard them radio to take our bags off the plan and they had the captain come out and say while he was a teetotalerand confirmed that neither of us was in any way inebriated, but by then I guess they had to cover their fanny for hassling us and total us we would not be flying, not a problem except because of their mechnical delay there were no more flights going out that night. I ask for the number to customer care and Steve decided to show his absolute true colors by yelling at me that he was off and he wasn't going to discuss it, he was done and a few other rude remarks. The bottom line here is this: do not fly this airline, cooperation will get you nowhere, they were obviously having a bad day with the delay and working over their hours on a Sunday night and had numerous people not so nice as us debate them about their "new" carry- on policy. We happened to get the bad deal, but Steve did said they were refunding our money back to our credit card, (he did give us the option of flying out on their next flight but this was on Sunday and they did not fly in or out again until Tuesday, so that did not work) . We ended up getting ahotel for the night, find ingother arrangements back home on a very nice carrier with no problems what so ever. One more thing "lady cop" came down when we got our bags and ask for my ID, which I provided and she wanted a contact number(what for?) We have never ever in all our flying years had this happen If anyone has had a similar experience and have documentation as I do, blog and I believe there is a remedy.
Dear Sir or Mam. My wife and I just returned from Laughlin NV. on 9-28-08 and were not happy about the flight plan. We got up at 6am and left on the bus at 7:30 to get to the airport and got through all of the necessay crud of security by 8:40am. At 9am we were supposed to board for the 9:30 flight and then it happened. An announcement that during the inspection a mechanial problem was found and the plane would not be able to fly. The good news was that a plane would be flown from Las Vegas and would be here in One hour. One passenger started laughing and said it would be at least 5 or 6 hours before we would leave. At 10:20am they announced that they still had not found a new crew to fly in and so they were going to send us by bus back to Harrahs for lunch. The bus picked up about half of the passengers at 10:40 and the rest of us not until almost 11am. They told us at harrahs that we had 45minutes to eat and check back with them about leaving or the new schedule. They gave us 10 dollars each to eat on. At 11:45 they told us the bus would leave at 12:30 and the plane at 1:30pm. We got back to the airport at 12:40 and had to go through the entire securtiy check againl. The plane arrived at 1;30pm and we boarded at 2:05pm. Then it really got stupid and they announced that they had to stop in Amirillo Texas to refuel, because they did not have enough to fly non-stop to Kansas City. We landed in Amirillo at 6:15pm central time and after 30minutes (which the pilot said, but the stewardess said 60 minutes) we took off for Kansas City. We landed and I mean very hard landing, in which I thought the tires would blow out in good old KC at 8:o5pm which was a total of a six hour delay, which the passenger had said earlier, due to the fact this is his third time of a delay with this airline. My huge question is why in the sam hill was the plane not checked the night before or very early in the morning, so if there was a problem another plane could have been brought in. I had to call my work, in which I was supposed to be at 7pm and tell them I would not be able to make it and of course that was not a good thing. Other passengers had to miss work and one couple missed an important wedding. I lost a days pay and had to pay an extra day for parking, due to this problem of the airlines and mechanical problem. It is not about the money, it is just VERY POOR PLANNING. All the airlines crew did was say we are sorry for the delay problem. Gee how about free cocktails for our ticked off attitutes or Just may be a free airline ticket to somewhere in the future, and of course this plane was sent by Harrahs casino to come to their hotel and gamble and have fun, in which we did, until the last day from heck. You just need to be more considerant of your money spending customers.
Ignorant traveler! What a pain in the ###! I remember being there with her (blonde, skimpy yellow dress, abnormally skinny, high maintenience hair and makeup)and most of the rest of us on the flight were thinking that she was a bit out of control. I mean we did not like the fact that the plane was 2 hours later either. It was a good laugh though when we took off and realised that you were not on the flight! We were all looking out the window when we were boarding and never saw you. That was cool to know that even the cheap carriers will not allow problem people like you on their planes.Sure flights get delayed on occasion, but that does not give you the right to drink (hicup)and then harass the airport and (hicup)airline personel. What a high maintenience ###, too bad she got her money back.Get some help ###.
It could not be said any clearer than Jess's remarks. Go Allegiant!
Lady, you are such a big brat and the biggest complainer ever. no wonder you got that treatment at the airport. Maybe next time u should check your attitude first? You are the problem lol, nobody else but you.
delay! delay! delay!
"Flight Status - Check to see if your flight is on-time. Chances are it is... Allegiant prides itself in on-time performance."
Above is a real quote from Allegiants' web page! What a joke! 6 out of the 6 legs of my daughters travels to and from school in Knoxville were delayed for a minimum of 1 hour and most often, like this evening, 4+ hours! One particularly horrible return flight was so late that the baggage handlers at Ft. Lauderdale airport had gone home! A further delay of an hour just to unload the luggage from the aircraft! The flight was due in at 9pm. We didn't get our luggage until 2am! Horrible! Terrible customer service!
buyer beware the super-low fare - disgust awaits you!
I too am disgusted. Please, do yourself the favor of reading the whole post, and ask if you'd decide to purchase a fare knowing I've been delayed and disgusted by a variety of circumstances. Occasionally my flights have gone as planned, but more often not. Initially very pleased this airline opened up a direct flight for my weekly commute, Tampa to...

My daughter attempted to check in an hour before her flight at Stockton, California. She was denied. The requirement was 2 hours in advance. They would not book her on the next flight leaving 2 hours later or put her on stand-by. The Stockton airport is tiny - Allegiant Air would not accommodate the 10 people who were booked on the flight but did not check in precisely 2 hours before departing. The airline was chosen because it's airport location was closest to us - without having to drive 60 miles away from home.
I'm going to have to agree with Jeff on this one. While I do feel for all of you who missed your flights, or were denied boarding because you arrived less than the quoted two hours ahead of time, you did knowingly sign the Allegiant Air user agreement upon booking your flight, which plainly states that you must be present two hours before your flight leaves in order to allow adequate time to pass through security and board the aircraft. While it might be easy to blame Allegiant, or their customer service reps, you truly only have yourself to blame.
I personally have flown Allegiant Air to Las Vegas and Phoenix/Mesa numerous times, and had no problems or concerns about their level of service. They offer affordable prices and quality service; however, if you cannot abide by their rules, you should probably spend some more money and find another airliner.
Everybody who pays 59 dollars for a ticket and expects concierge private jet service is just plain ignorant.
Allegiant may not care about the customer to your satisfaction, but in the end, what corporation does? Does Dillards give a ### about you? no? they just care enought to get you to come back and spend your money at their store again.
When you book a ticket on a discount airline, you are paying for a seat on a jet that gets you to said destination in mere hours. When you click sumbit on that purchase agreement, you agree that you are getting that seat. Allegiant delivers that product sucessfully 99% percent of the time.. That is why Allegiant Air flys around full airplanes of satisfied customers. That is also why Allegiant is the most profitable airline in the United States.
Because of the nature of air travel, 100% of flights do not operate sucessfully. Weather, Mechanical problems, there are so many factors that have to come together to launch a single flight, its amazing ANY ever get off the ground..
If you dont want to fly Allegiant Air ever again because you feel that in comparison to other carriers, you were treated poorly, then dont..
Pain in the ### passengers such as yourself make the experience so much worse for the other 149 of us satisfied passengers, they should put you on a no fly list to preserve any semblance of order aboard any airline flight.
I will NOT fly allegiant airlines again from Stockton, Ca or any city that has this [censored] airline. We showed up 45 mins before the plane was to be boarded. Clearly on the service desk there was a memo that said you had to be present 30 min prior to boarding. My whole party of 12 people from Stktn to Las Vegas was hanging around the lounge waiting to go thru the detectors. I was waiting in line to receive my boarding pass and no one ever showed up. Apparently this airport is so tiny not only do the employees work the customer counter handing boarding passes they also do the luggage loading. My friends and family told the luggage loaders/ customer service reps near the plane that there were people in the lounge waiting for passes. And never once for 45 mins while the plane was being loaded a board did they send someone up to help myself or the 6 other customers that were in line prior to me.
When the supervisor finally showed back at the customer service counter she said we weren’t there 30 mins prior. We called her on b*ll[censored] and not only did she not accept an some attitude from people that didn’t board she also started to argue back and behave unprofessional by being negative toward everyone standing in line. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had anywhere in customer service. It’s obvious that the customer does not come first with this airline. I eventually drove to Las Vegas that night which was a ten hour drive. I am now out $230.00 due to this matter. So buyers, please be aware of this. Allegiant Airlines does not care about the customer. Again, allegiant does not care about the customer.
I will never fly this airline again! What a joke. We arived 45 minutes to the airport and theyt would not let us on the plane. We had to stand there as they called the other passengers onto the plane, while they told us the flight was already boarded. What a lie. When the manager told us they would accomodate us after they got the flight off she did nothing but tell us there was nothing she could do and that we could not get our money back. So not only did we not get to fly, the took our money and lied to our faces. Never fly with this airline, it might be cheap, but you get what you pay for.
This was the absolute worst sirline I have ever flown in my life ! To whoever posted the FOLLOW THE RULES comment is bull**!
Things arise in peoples lives but we arrived at the airport 45 minutes prior when I say we I mean my 4 year old and I and the hag would not let us on, mind you there was nobody in the airport and my daughter was crying but heres the kicker the stupid airplane sat there for another 45 minutes and the women whose name I plan to get at Santa Maria Airport looked at my child and flat out said NO ! when she asked if we could go to Arizona. Oh yes and coming back they boarded our airplane then they unboarded our airplane and then we boarded again and sat on the airline for over an hour WHAT a F---N joke this airline is ! I plan to meet with the media to personally put them on the spot any suggestions.
Our flight from Bellingham to Mesa was great. As was the flight back.
The staff onboard were quite fun. We had the same flight attendant on both flights, as well as the same pilot.
However they never loaded my suitcase on the plane.
It was almost 2 hours at Bellingham Airport to try to locate my baggage - with no luck.
Mesa staff went home for the day, hence no one was there to answer the phone.
I get a call 2 days later stating that my bag was located and that I could pick it up in Bellingham on Saturday! YAY! But... that means another 2 hour drive, passing through Customs, etc, etc...
I just checked flights and schedules.
The flight that my bag is supposed to be on comes in at 5:50. I can't pick it up until 8:30. Allegiant staff finish work and shut down at 8PM!
The flight Attendants are great, but the ground and terminal staff are SO F**king rude!
One can not get through to ANYONE on ANY of thier phone lines.
The cost of the flight was great, but I will NEVER fly Allegient again.
NEVER AGAIN.. will I fly on Allegiant Air. I had the worse experience with this airline. My friends and I had booked four plane ticket to Las Vegas. A month before the flight, there was an unexpected medical tragedy within the family. My sister was left in the hospital in ICU in critical condition not knowing if she was going to live (of course I can't go). I contacted the airline co. a month in advance to tell them about my situation (I would not be flying but my three friends are still going). They assured me that I would be taken care of (refunded) and had me faxed them some documents explaining the nature of the medical emergency. I thought that everything was fine(trusting the co. in good faith). Little did I know, that they charged my account and rejected my claim without even notifying me. I called them over 10 times escalating to speak to a supervisor, but they keep pushing me around and hanging up on me (not letting me speak to a supervisor.) Until, now the situation still has not been resolved.
I don't see all the facts here - I think we're missing part of the picture. All airlines suggest 2 hours prior to check-in. You didn't listen - sure, Stockton may be a small airport but you still have to follow the rules.
I think what you meant to say was that you missed your flight because you didn't show up on time and the check-in was already closed; 20-30 minutes prior to departure.
Maybe you'll learn next time!
bait & switch!
These guys... I bought a ticket from them about a month ago, fair was $99 each way... Not bad... Well, now, less then a week before departure, I get an email.. They overbooked the flight and want more cash to guarantee my seat. So, I went ahead and did so... Had no choice, all my travel reservations were already locked in... So, my airfare went from about $220 to over $350... Avoid them like the plague.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with Allegiant Air. Hopefully, my mistakes will serve as a warning to others who are lured to use this discount airline to save a few bucks. Remember, “You get what you pay for.” I missed my return flight from Springfield, MO to Orlando, FL because the ticket counter was closed 30 minutes before the flight...

I am complaining Allegiant Air is poor handling of passengers and lack of provisions or preparedness for those with hearing impairments. I was sitting by the gate for my return flight on June 25, 2017 (flight 474 from Las Vegas to Sioux Falls). The electronic LED sign above the counter was showing lights but no characters. Finally when I saw people line up...

On a flight from Niagara Falls, NY to St. Petersburg, Fl. on 12/29/2016, flight attendants were very flat and especially one named Amanda was very rude to passengers snapping at them as she passed. As a frequent flyer with Allegiant I have never had a bad experience with the attendants, but this girl really needs to rethink her desire to do this job. She is an embarrassment to the company.
I agree with this passenger. I am a 65 year old woman, have been a missionary for over 25 years. I have traveled all over the world to many third world countries on just about every airline available worldwide. While traveling on Allegiant Air to visit my grandchildren and family I had not seen in several years, I had the worst experience of my life with a flight attendant . While struggling with my carry on overhead bag it became snagged on the latch of the overhead bin and I could not get it released. The flight attendant said " Give me that I have to check that bag it won't fit " I knew the bag would easily fit once I was able to release it from the latch. I am also a photography and the contents of the bag consisted of very expensive lens and camera equipment. I never check this bag because of its value. I carry the same bag when traveling, I know that it fits easily in the compartment. I replied back to the Flight attendant " I know it will fit it's just snagged on the latch. She replied back in a very rude manner " I've been doing this a long time and I'm telling you it's not going to fit". About that time the latch became detached and bag slide right in. "I said, There it fits." She said "Well if you are going to be disrespectful I'll have you know I can have you thrown off this plane, I suggest you sit down and not say another word." She was obviously very mad that the bag fit. When I sat down the passenger next to me said you need to get her name she had no right yelling at you like that. A few minutes later the flight attendant walked by and stuck her head around the other passengers sitting next to me and said, "Do you have something you want to say to me?" In a very snippy voice. I politely said, "Could I have your name please." She yelled, "You can have my name, It's Ann B I T C H and spelled it, and yelled you can also have my badge number and when you call to complaint they are just going to praise me for doing my job, now come with me, your getting off. ". She called security and grabbed my overhead bag. While waiting at the door for security to escort me off, my travel companion who also travels with me on missions had to disembark also because we wanted to stay together. I pleaded with her to change her mind because I didn't want to disappoint family who had traveled from other cities to spend time with me that weekend. She was very smug that she had the power to do this. Which was clearly an abuse of power. I never raised my voice, I do not drink or use profanity and was respectful at all times. I did not disrupt any passengers or at any time put them in any danger. The only disruption was this rude out of control flight attendant who was obviously having a bad day. I was escorted to the luggage carousel and told my checked luggage would be coming and to wait there. Of course that never happened, my luggage went on to my destination. My husband was in total shock when I called him, as was my family. My husband immediately booked me on a Southwest flight for later that day. Because it was a last minute flight it was $998.00. My husband sent a certified letter past customer service and up the chain, asking for a resolution and a quick response to this incident. He gave them ample time to reply and a deadline prior to litigation. If we do not get a satisfactory response we will proceed with litigation.
First of all, that flight attendant was not so professional. I agree ( but you can't expect first class treatment traveling the lowest class). Probably she already greated 500 people that day and let me tell you something. Those passengers when they are greeted by their flight attendant they wont say hello but they turn their backs and they just ignore the smile and the hello...so what is the point in doing that anyway...few years of that and you are done with people
Other thing is that maybe the flight attendant just got tired of hundreds of mean and rude comments that people say..everyday the same things an the same complaints. There is nothing that they can do to help anybody anyway.
Regarding the 4hour layover?..Allegiant keeps their flight attendants up to 20 hours stranded in an extremely hot or too cold plane with no pay or food, starving and exhaused and by the time they get home, dealing with the angriest passengers ever..they only get payed for maybe 3-4 hours. And those planes break all the time.
If they get sick they still have to go to work because the company will have them fired for getting sick. And is hard not to get sick dealing with the dirtiest of people and planes, working up to exhaustion with no hot meal for 15 hours at a time and sleeping 4-5 hours a night since the schedules are done in the wrong way. You may see your flight attendant crying in pain in her seat since she might be about to pass out or she can not hear you anyway due to the bad ear infection(that people are not allowed to fly with a ear infection but those flight attendants have to)
The planes are always broken and if there is not a delay due to something is a miracle. But dealy or not..people are always mean and angry and they smell bad, dont know how to use a lavatory, have no common sense and too many uneducated kids, body gasses and fluids, ...
Hundreds of people every day faking all kinds of disabilities, being the center of the universe...all have a mean comment and a ton of expectations from a very low cost airline..helpless people in wheelchairs that can actually run out of the plane if they need to, flight attendants breaing their backs lifting people's extremely heavy bags(and they do not get payed for being stranded in a wheelchair for weeks in horrible pains..they dont even get a thank you from that passenger)
And you might ask why people do this job?..well..the job' flight attendant' sounds good...pay SEEMS decent...it is just that by the time you quit you job to go to an unpayed training..stay on reserve forever with unhumane schedules and a 'barely I have food to eat ' paycheck and a lot of debt is pretty late you kinda have to go on. Needles to say that on the days off, you are in so much pain and exhausted to have energy to look for a different job...anyway...
Judging by your tone and attitude you sound very much like you climbed on board your Allegiant Air flight with some attitude problem and have some vendetta against a Flight Attendant. Maybe you dated one and got dumped or something of that nature in the past. However it should always be noted that things are not always as they seam and your judging of a situation might be fogged. Just because a Flight Attendant for any airline would look at a magazine or etc does not mean they are bad, unprofessional or not doing the job for which they were hired for. The truth be known had your sorry complaint self had a heart attack on that plane, THAT very Flight Attendant you complain about would jump into action and possibly would have saved your non deserving complaining behind! Just something you might wabt to keep in mind on the complaint line.
I understand if you are on a lay over or something like that. But coming into my allegiant flight last thursday oct 1, the one flight attendant half way said hello while looking over the shoulder of another flight attendant while she was reading "the National Enquirer" Now give me another line of bull!
flight attendants are people. Somtimes they are on duty in an airport on a 4 hr lay over - 4 hrs is the limit thatsome airlines will make you sit around without giving them a hotel. Would you do a cross road at your place of employment if you had nothing to do but sit in a terminal for 3 hrs and 49 minutes? I dont see what is so bad. they have days up to 14 hrs. Would you like to work those kind of hours with customers yelling at you all day bc the reservations dept messed up their tickets or the security line was long? Flight attendant are like everyone else ...and in fact when they are on those layover in the airport ...THEY ARENT GETTING PAID! EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE "On DUTY" we are only getting paid when the wheel go up til the wheels go down! So we hate being on delays EVEN more than Passangers do! WE ARE AT WORK FOR FREE during those times! I am sorry if you had a bad experience with a flight attendant! A lot of us love our jobs and love the customers that we get the opportunity to get to know and we would never want to make a bad impression but justremember that we are people to only we dont get the luxury of going home everynite to do cros swords in private!
