RV towing
I pay for the additional RV and 100 miles of towing. Today 9/8/2021 i needed assistance with my 32ft 5th wheel. I called AAA at noon and after about 30 minutes i was told a driver would be on the way. i got a call from a driver at about 1:30pm that he was 45 mins away. Another hour goes by and I call back for an update and he tells me that AAA cancelled the tow! I call AAA back and get connected with representative and he said he was looking into the issue. Was on hold for 30 minutes and the call was rolled over to another associate and she started all over. Asked my name and address and had no record of the call previous. She said the call was not cancelled they have no one in the area that can tow an RV, which is garbage, I live in San Diego. I have now been waiting another 30 minutes and I am still on hold. I have been waiting since noon for a tow and it is now a quarter 'til 5pm with no dispatch assigned!
2 years ago I needed a tow for this same RV and i called a little before 5pm on a Friday and they told me they wouldn't have anyone out til the following day and I was stuck on the side of the road with my family!
Tow truck damaged my rear bumper loading my car

I called AAA roadside assistance on Friday, September 3, 2021 because my car wouldn't start. It was in my driveway at home (address above).
The first attendant came on time and was helpful. He tested my battery and told me the battery was fine and that it was probably the starter that needed to be replaced and I needed a tow to the repair shop. He arranged for the second AAA attendant (tow truck). The second attendant came in a flat bed tow truck (pic attached). He attempted to load my Honda with the flatbed at too great an angle and ran the back of the car into the flat bed, damaging the rear bumper. Once he adjusted the height, he attached his hook to my bumper again and again, attempting to pull the car up onto the flat bed. This bent the rear bumper again and again as he failed many times. My bumper is now damaged and I will need to have it repaired or replaced. When I told him what he had done (since I was watching), he seemed unconcerned and said that the bumper could be pushed back in place.
In any event, I am attaching pictures of the damage and would like to have AAA cover the cost of repairing the damage to the bumper or replacing it.
Thank you.

Desired outcome: Compensation to repair or replace rear bumper.
Road service
Get your road service through your car insurance company! I have been using AAA almost continually since 1979, and I have used it primarily in Baltimore since the mid-1990's. About three years ago, I noticed a substantial increase in wait times. In the past it was about 45 minutes, then it shot-up to two hours the past couple of years, despite consistently favorable weather conditions.
Tonight, the weather was picture perfect. I called early in the evening on a Sunday and after four hours I never got a tow. Nor was I given any updates by text even though they had my number.
After 2 1/2 hours, I finally decided I had enough and I called my road service plan through my car insurance company. They came in 90 minutes! I have never called AAA and another road service company at the same time before. But I was getting desperate after being told there were 7 people still ahead of me even though I had waited patiently for 2 1/2 hours!
Imagine if I had been stuck - at night - in one of Baltimore's many rough neighborhoods. I honestly no longer feel safe having an AAA membership! If you live in a Mid-Atlantic state, don't waste your money on a ridiculously expensive road service plan when you can purchase it from your car insurance company for a lot less money and you get a lot better service!
Desired outcome: Hire More Tow-Truck Drivers! Duh!
Service
So...we called for help at 0945 this morning. ETA 1045. It is now 1730..no one came, no one called or texted. So
I called and the worker hung up on me because she said she couldnt hear me. She never tried to call the phone back. So as far as she is concerned we are still sitting there waiting to be rescued. Very POOR QUALITY SERVICE! I will recommend to everyone I know to not bother using your service!
Desired outcome: Nothing. They are crap
Give your Roadside Assistance on your insurance a shot, or if the car is new, it comes with roadside assistance. Whatever this company is, it's not AAA
Road service
These people are scumbags. My poor 81 year old father left his house without his wallet and got stranded.
After asking him all kinds of questions they decided to leave him stranded because he didn't have a picture id.
They suggested one of us tun his id to him. I cancelled my membership last year because of the lousy service, and I'm happy I did. I wouldn't use them if they were the last company on earth.
Desired outcome: None
Unethical behaviour
On july 18th I called aaa because I needed a jump start. An employee came an proceeded to the work but he was careless. He crossed the cables when trying to jump start the car causing a lot of sparks come out when trying to make the connection. A second try gave the same results. A third time was the right one, but by this time the battery was dead then and so other parts of the car I found out later. I had to buy another battery from him. After he installed the new battery he left. He said "I hope it didn't burn any fuses". He left right away. I tried the car around the block and I noticed the car was behaving different (like it was going to die any time). I took the car to the mechanic. He scanned it and the results were the air intake hose had been damaged (that would cost around 300 dollars but it is possible that the car computer has been damaged in which case it would cost 1000 dollars. Also they installed the wrong battery. That also can cause damages to the alternator. I have not been able to use the car anymore because it already died two times in the middle of traffic. I have called many times and I have written a letter to them. First they told me somebody would call me in two days. After three days I called back and then I was told I had to wait 7 to 10 days. Now it has been almost a month and nobody calls me for anything. I don't think they intent to accept the responsibility for ruining my car. They are just letting the time run and ignoring me after being their customer for years. The last time I called they gave a case number: cts 34252.

On Monday August 09, 2021 my wife Brenda Deroche had gone to town for a dentist appointment. Upon leaving the office she realized she had a flat tire. She called me (Ted Deroche). I was at home with no transportation. I tried to contact AAA for assistance for her. I waited forever for someone to talk toand was convince to ask electronically, but the system wants my location and not hers. Finally I had her call AAA and after she had to call AAA several times, she was told is would be 90 minutes. After OVER two hours a kind person stopped and changed her tire. Later that day, AAA called her and asked if she still needed assistance. I am furious about this. This is very POOR service. I intend to cancel our membership. Anyone from AAA really care?
Roadside service
On June 28th I needed roadside service outside of Cody Wyoming.
As if running out of fuel 5 miles from a Gas Station in Cody Wyoming wasn't bad enough AAA roadside service added to the pain by not providing service when you need them in an emergency.
I was stranded on side of Highway with traffic flying by at 70 miles per hour waiting for over 4 hours.
I made several calls to AAA Reps asking why it was taking so long for Help and explaining to them I only need a gallon of gas to get me to a Gas Station.
After 3 plus hours into my wait for Help I got a call from AAA and was told no one would be available to help me until 5:30 pm that night.
I placed my call that day @ 11:45 am for Help in bringing out fuel.
I am livid with their response to my emergency and the false sense of security knowing AAA roadside service to be there for me when I needed them.
I cancelled my roadside membership with AAA after I got assistance from a local resident that gave me a ride to get fuel.
I have been a paying member for over 20 plus years and have not used their road service for well over 18 years and this is how they treat their loyal members.
I will never again pay $ for roadside service with AAA.

Roadside Assistance
on 8/6/2021 at 3:15pm I called triple AAA. My vehicle broke a drive shaft and I needed a tow. I explained to the AAA representative who answered the phone and told her that I was in Saint Louis Missouri and will need to have my vehicle towed to Dobbs Tire. First of all, the representative tried to tell me that I was 16 miles from the Dobbs Tire. I went back and forth with her telling her she was wrong. I was only b7 miles from the location. So just to hurry up and get this situation resolved I said ok, I do not want to pay $7 per mile after 3 miles based on your GPS in comparison to my GPS and the fact that I lived here all my life. So I selected a location that matched better with her GPS and I waited for the driver. After speaking with this representative the tow driver dispatcher called me and said the driver was in Illinois and is on his way. I thought it was odd that a driver from Illinois would come to Missouri to tow my vehicle. About 1.5 hours later there was no driver but a person claiming to be the driver called me and asked me exactly where I was because he could not find me. Apparently, the driver was in Illinois looking for me. I specifically said to the dispatcher that I was in Missouri. The driver calls his office to explain why I was not picked up and I also called their office to find out who is running this company. They apologize and said they will send someone out to get me. An hour later there was no driver and again I find out that the driver is again looking for me in Illinois! So 2.5 hours later I am still sitting there in 95 degree heat waiting on triple A. Finally, the original driver who was in Illinois said he would come to Missouri and tow my vehicle to take me where I need to go. So basically I waited on these guys for 3 hours. This was very disappointing. I will be canceling my subscription and will never use their service ever again. I waited 3 hours in 95 degree heat on the highway waiting on these guys all because they could not decipher simple information saying that I live in Missouri. The autoshop is in Missouri. I am not 16 miles from the autoshop that you are claiming. I gave them the highway name stating that I was 1/4 of a mile from a landmark in Missouri. Yet on both occasions they end up in Illinois no where near me. Even when I called them to explain it over and over again there were long hold-times. Multiple transfers of the call. Very frustrating! If you are dealing with this company then do so at your own risk. Fortunately, for me it was in the daytime and not in a bad neighborhood.
Desired outcome: Refund my subscription and cancel me
car stranded
I called at 4:oo p.m. Sunday for service on a flat tire that I could not do myself. first call I was told a 45:minute to an hour till someone would get to me. I waited almost 2 hours and no-one called or came... second call was told another hour till someone would get to me.. another person came in a unmarked tow truck and could not change my tire...he said he could not tow me because he was too tired and to call AAA again.. Granted each call your on hold for 20 minutes... so I called again it was starting to get dark and there was nothing around me that I could have walked to. that call I was told I would have someone at 11:00p.m. I was 90 miles away to get home and alone...scared, needed to bathroom, hungry. and no-one showed up or call at 11:00p.m.!my husband finally showed up 10:30 p.m.to help. had to get air in the spare which I had to drive another flat to get air in to get on the road to drive 90 miles back home. I finally got a call this morning at 8:27 a.m. from you asking if I still needed help... why would you send someone that does not have tools to change a tire? or tow? my lug wrench did not fit the lug nuts or I could have done it... why would you let a woman be stranded soo long?
Desired outcome: answers from the top management.
Roadside Towing Service
On 7/27/21, I was travelling east on Wyoming highway 120 heading to Thermopolis, Wy. I was approx. 4.5 miles from Thermopolis. Had flat tire & spare tire not holding air. Called AAA @ 7:51pm. Had to explain my position multiple times. How hard is it to understand "travelling east on Wyoming Highway 120 heading to Thermopolis, Wy"? Also gave person on phone (female w/foreign accent) the GPS coordinates. Was told tow service would be there in 2 hrs. At 8:06 received text from AAA w/service request number 42341. Wyoming State Patrol officer came by approx. 9:00pm & stayed w/us b/c it was dark & we had no flashers. After almost 2 hrs. waiting, we called AAA again & was told by dispatcher "We have not contacted a Towing service yet". At this point we are frustrated & the officer gives us a name of towing service in Thermopolis. We called to cancel AAA. Shortly after, Specialty Towing in Thermopolis, Wy. calls me & states "He heard of our request but could not send tow truck b/c at this time it is in Riverton, Wy." He further stated that "if AAA had contacted him within 20 min. after our initial call to AAA, I would have had the truck & would have towed us in right away b/c his business is in Thermopolis, which is only 4.5 miles away". He was he was sorry. I was furious! There was no reason for us sitting out on the dark highway that long. Poor Service is the reason. This was my first time using the AAA service. The State Patrol office gave us a name of towing service & I called Smith's Oil Field Service in Thermopolis & they came out immediately. The towing bill was $250.00. I expect this bill to be paid by AAA. K.D. Mixon
Desired outcome: I want AAA to reimburse me for $250.00 towing charge.
towing service
broke down in a different town then i lived in, called AAA repeatedly they could not find anyone to tow my truck.I was at the truck over four hours waiting and calling with no answers. Had my wife pick me up so i could go to work, kept calling all they said is they will let me know when it will be towed.twelve hours later after calling and calling they still have no idea when it will be towed. Not only that the truck is in someones yard with the keys in it (as wanted by AAA) and I don't even know the people.
AAA does not follow up .
Desired outcome: get my truck towed home.
Insurance
Applied to purchase motor insurance for a car that will only be used upto two months a year as we live overseas. My wife is American and holds a Michigan driving license.
I explained that I am not American and hold a
Malaysian driving license. Your agent, Michelle LaFlora, said she needed to check with an underwriter as I am foreign. She reverted explaining she would issue the policy stating on the policy I was unlicensed. This I assume would mean that in the event of a claim I would be uninsured (by virtue of being unlicensed) as I was not carrying a US licensed?
I was then told that the underwriter has advised that a Malaysian driving license was not recognised in the USA. Strange as I hire a car every year from Hertz who are happy to accept it (as are all your competitors).
Then I was asked why I wouldn't I get a US driving license? One there is no need and two why take a driving test for no reason to be issued a license for the length of my stay? I am not resident so how (and why) would I go through this pointless exercise.
I find it extraordinary that there is this level of understanding in your motor department and this is the advice they are handing out. Whoever heard of issuing a policy with a named driver uncovered!
I am a 38yr insurance veteran and I am proud of the industry I have have served so long. I am English, so by nature don't complain, but this experience was just ridiculous.
Desired outcome: Make your staff more aware of US requirements.
Failed to show up. Worst service ever!
On July 9 2021 I had a mechanical problem and ran off road went up embankment popped front tire was not sure could get down. There was no cell service there got ride to top of pass. Called AAA told her might need tow truck and that they could not call back. After two hours and no AAA surprisingly my wife showed up she went back to top of pass and called back and gave them directions again came back. After she went back called for the third time she was told be there in thirty- five minutes. Never showed up. My wife drove forty miles miles home brought back what we needed. We were there six and a half hours AAA never came.
Next day called to talk to supervisor was told by Jeramy that would get a call back in twenty-four hours. After four days no return call, so called AAA again Shelisea said a supervisor would call back. After eighteen days two calls two e-mails a letter to corporate in ca. Have not heard anything from AAA. Vary disappointed. card # [protected] Randall Porter Phone [protected].
Desired outcome: At the lest you owe my wife a tank of gas she saved the day.
Claim # [protected] I 2369
I am not too happy the way this whole thing is being done. The claim should have been done and settle before my car was worked on and I should not have been made to pay. I know I can get auto insurance cheaper than what I am being made to pay. Never once did they get the other parties drivers license as it was not even her car and she admitted that she was tired and did not see me. Then changed her mind later.
Desired outcome: Other party to pay
Towing Service
On July 17, 2021, around 11 AM I attempted to contact AAA using the [protected] number on my membership card for a tow since my check engine light came on, flashing, and my 2012 Hyundai ground to a stop on Florida I-4 near the turnpike..
I got a recorded message that "due to the high volume of callers I must use my cell phone to drop a pin indicating my location (Kissimmee Florida)".
Over and over again the GPS was unable to contact AAA to this way. I got the same recorded message over and over again for more than 1.5 hours.
In desperation, being out of the hospital for 2 days due to a leg infection, I contacted a local towing company, Tropical Towing [protected].
I paid $390 for the tow from Kissimmee to Vero Beach, slightly over 100 miles.
I believe I am entitled to a refund of sorts, at least the excess I had to pay over what AAA would have paid me.

Desired outcome: Refund
Home Insurance
Be careful of the deductibles on your AAA Insurance Policy, our Policy was set at 3% even after we showed our roof was only 2 years old at time of home purchase. Most Insurance companies have deductibles set to 1%. AAA sent us a check for around $2500 towards our new roof while we estimate the cost at $35000. Have found AAA dishonest and hard to deal with...

My car broke down at 5:30 PM. I contacted AAA by 6:00 PM. We were told that there will be a wait. It is now 8:44 PM, 75 degrees and sunny. I cannot believe there should be any weather related delays. I reviewed my Roadside Assistance Tracking and noticed I was not scheduled for service until 12:14 AM. This is truly unacceptable.
This is the second delayed encounter with AAA. As soon as my vehicle towing is taken care of, I will be cancelling ALL my vehicle Insurance with them.
Desired outcome: I would expect quicker service for a 2.5 mile tow.
membership
I have been paying for trailer tow for probably 15 years and the first time I needed help 7/5/21 they tell me they can't help because it is a utility trailer. I told them what I had when I added it to my membership, I was told it was covered. They would not help me and I had to pay $250.00 to get it moved. The AAA left me sitting on the freeway for 3 1/2 hours. I felt very scared sitting there. All I have had from the first time I added the trailer is my utility trailer. I have paid every year for it so I would be safe if anything ever happened. I think it is discussing that they did this to me. First they told me help was on the way and would be there 30 minutes or less, I called them back after 45 minutes only to find that no one was on the way. I could of called someone on my own if I had known and been off there within a half hour. Not only did they leave me sitting the AAA has been charging me money for something they wouldn't cover and I had to spend out of pocket money because of this. Dorothy Troise [protected]
Desired outcome: Would like this explained to me.
Deposit on bundled Home and auto insurance
On June 16th, 2021 I spoke to Jennifer Garrod in reference to Home and automobile insurance bundled together, Jennifer quoted an amount that I accepted and given a deposit when the papers were printed out there was a different amount than I was quoted. Jennifer stated that she could not return the $401.16 deposit that was given at that time and it will be returned In a few days, as of this date, I made a couple of telephone calls to Jennifer the last one today 7/6/2021 I asked to speak to a supervisor, her response was there are no supervisors at that location and laughter. this is no way to react to a customer and very unethical
this agent has given the company a bad reputation, I like the company, but agents like this should not represent AAA
