I made an appointment for 11 am
I made an appointment for 11 am. Clayton called at 10 am to confirm appointment for noon. I told him our appointment was at 11 am and he said okay, see you then. He came on time, measured everything, and said his office would send me a quote the next business day. I never heard from him or his office. After reading these reviews, I guess I should be glad I avoided a problem. Deb P.
Barefoot Concrete Complaints 2
I signed a contract with Barefoot Concrete on April 24, 21
I signed a contract with Barefoot Concrete on April 24, 21. In the middle of May, they contacted me to schedule a start date for May 27, 21, but they didn't show up. I reached out to them again in the middle of June to reschedule for June 28, but once again, they didn't show up. I tried contacting the company on October 6 and left a message, but I didn't receive a reply. Finally, on October 29, I spoke to the receptionist who said that *** would get in touch with me on November 2, but I still haven't heard anything. I have attached a copy of the contract for reference.
Bearfoot installed stamped and colored concrete patio
Bearfoot installed stamped and colored concrete patio. At first, the color was wrong. After trying to fix it, only 10 days later, the color started peeling. Overall, my experience with Bearfoot Concrete is not good. Let me break it down by price, workmanship, attention to detail, and customer service. Price: The price we agreed on was reasonable. But maybe, in the end, you get what you pay for. Workmanship: Update as of 6/22. The color on the patio is already starting to peel. Bearfoot replaced my paver patio with stamped concrete, replaced a pad in the driveway, and added a 5 x 9 stoop at the exit to our garage. Patio: The stamped texture turned out okay. But the color did not. During the estimate, we asked Bearfoot to match the patio to the fence. The secondary color was supposed to be a darker brown. According to the manufacturer's color palette, the correct base color should have been Aspen. Instead, Bearfoot chose Cappuccino. So instead of a taupe/light brown, the base color had a very yellowish tint...totally unacceptable blend for the house and screen room. To be fair, Bearfoot asked if the color was correct AFTER they had mixed and poured the concrete. This is important...whatever correction came after that would result in stained concrete, not colored concrete. However, it would have saved the extra step of sealing and resealing. When I first contacted Bearfoot about the wrong color, after some back and forth, Bearfoot mentioned the clause in the contract that said they weren't responsible for customer satisfaction with the color. I stood my ground and said I could agree IF the customer asked for color X, and they put down color X. Then it would be on the customer for choosing the wrong color. But when the customer asks for color X and they put down color Y, that's different. In the end, they agreed to redo the color by staining the concrete. The end result is that instead of two color tones, I now have a single stained color that needs to be sealed annually to maintain. And the final color is much darker than the color we originally requested. During the agreement to fix the color, we discussed that Bearfoot would provide labor, but I would have to buy materials to correct their mistake. More on that later. Driveway Pad: Overall, it's acceptable. The only issue is attention to detail. 5 x 9 stoop: Outside my garage man door, there was a low spot that collected water. When it rained, the water pooled towards the house. One of the Bearfoot workers explained that over time, this could affect the foundation and recommended a slab that would cause the water to run off away from the house and eliminate the high step over from the garage to the outside. Well, the first rain came right after the slab was put in, only to find that the slab was angled towards the house! And to make matters worse, there was a low spot just as you stepped outside, so there was a puddle too. When I approached Bearfoot, they asked how I wanted it fixed. I told them they were the experts, so they should tell me. The solution they came up with was to cut grooves in the concrete angled from the corner and along the doorway exit so that water would slowly drain away from the foundation. It looks terrible, but it's in the back of the garage where no one will see it. Attention to detail: It needs a lot of improvement. The concrete dust was everywhere, all over the brick facing of the house, on trees and shrubs, the paint on the screen room, and all over the backyard. At the very least, Bearfoot should have covered the other areas. I still have concrete dust all over the brick and now I have to repaint. None of the concrete edges next to the house or screen room were smooth. It seemed like the bigger the glob, the better the job when it came to the edges. When they came back to add the stain to the concrete, Bearfoot agreed to grind them down, and they did a pretty good job with that. But there was still more concrete dust on the house and screen room that didn't get cleaned up.
