The worst experience ever! We bought a small sectional w/ a chaise but was delivered w/o the chaise. Apparently the sales person forgot to order that piece and it would take another month or so to get it. The sales person did admit to her mistake and apologized and said she'll put a rush for the missing piece. Next, we bought another larger sectional. The day before it was supposed to be delivered we received a call saying the manufacture sent the wrong item and that they couldn't deliver the item. He said he'll put the order in again and deliver will be the same as if we just put in the order today (another 4-12 weeks wait). He said that he will let our sales person know about the issue. So we thought we would get a call from the sales person, but we didn't. We were annoyed as no one from belfort sales called to acknowledge the problem or offer to put a rush on the order or even provide us a loaner (we moved into a new house and we have no furniture) or deliver the parts that were in. This was the second order belfort messed up and we were getting less patient. So, we tried to cancel our order as they just don't seem competent... Esp. Since messing up both our orders within a month of each other and we just didn't have any confidence in them and it became a big head ache. So after several calls to customer service and speaking to the store manager, we still couldn't cancel our order. The manager said that he couldn't cancel the order. However, the fine print on the invoice said that at the discretion of the manager purchases can be cancelled. It was just an overall bad experience and an especially bad customer service experience... They seem nice at first and are read take your money, but after they make the sale, they don't care if you get your furniture, if it's the right one or when you get it. In the meantime, we're still sitting on the floor waiting for our furniture.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
After three problems with Belfort -- a delivery that was five months late, one wrong sized bed rail on that delivery (one King and one Cal. King for the same bed) and a mattress with a floor model tag on it although I paid for new -- I wrote a letter directly to Belfort to express my outrage. I said that if they did not fix the problem of the floor model mattress, I would dispute the charge on my credit card. You should have seen them jump. The letter went in via their comment site on a Friday night. We received a call Saturday morning. They actually refunded us the cost of the bed rails and investigated to ensure that the mattress had never been on any floor of any store. They bent over backwards to try to please us after three botched purchases. Funny, the only purchase they didn't botch was a cash and carry purchase. (The the other purchases were also cash but required delivery.) Perhaps there's more incentive for them to get it right if you buy on their credit plan. Now I need a new kitchen table. I hate to go back, but they have the best quality in northern Virginia. What to do, what to do!
Profoundly unhappy with a Sealy mattress set bought at Belfort. It has developed two deep gullies that are visible even with the comforter on. When sleeping on the mattress it is very uncomfortable because you get trapped in the gullies and can't roll over to another part of the mattress. Belfort has been no help. Apparently, it takes gullies even deeper that ours for the warranty to kick in. Will never buy anything from them again. What a disaster!
Immediately after posting my previous review I received a call from Belfort, and they couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. They gave us full credit on another mattress which was delivered a few weeks ago. What a difference. It is comfortable, and there are no gullies. Although I initially had a bad experience with Belfort, they eventually made things right and we are thrilled.
We ordered two twin bookshelf beds with under storage plus a desk with bookshelf. It cost a few thousand dollars and we thought that because it was going to take 6-8 weeks to deliver, we thought it would be better quality and better service. Three weeks after made and paid for the order, we got a call telling us that the bed and desk we ordered were no longer being made. Really? It took 3 weeks to find that out? Now they have our money and we don't want any other set. They want us to pick out something else but #1 we don't like anything else and #2 we'd have to come out of pocket another few hundred dollars and #3 we have to wait another 6-8 weeks delivery for anything else we pick. Why can't they rush something for us since they wasted the last 3 weeks for us? We are not happy customers.
One of the worst experiences ever. The quality of their furniture is horrible. It's a waste of money. I bought mine over a year ago and pillows and cushions are already out of shape. I called and made a complained to one of the managers and they don't care. They are telling me they are no longer covered by the 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. Well nobody told us from the beginning that we have 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. I don't recommend this furniture store to anybody.
