First off, everyone that works there seems to be dead inside. I witnessed no true organization or procedure practices that were being consistently followed. I literally can't write down all the incompetence I witnessed over the drawn out 22 days of hell they made me go through before being rejected on giving plasma. So, I did the intake, saw the nurse. I had thyroid cancer in 2020. Told the nurse this she looked it up and proceeded to tell me I was still clear to move forward I just needed to get a paper signed by my doctor. Note I had to go back to my doctor 4 times to repeat this form because every time I brought it in there was something wrong with it and the doctor wouldn't take it but never spent the time to explain how the form needed to be filled out. The doctor is supposed to come by twice a week or at least once to sign off papers but took 22 days before he finally looked at my paper and denied me saying I needed to be in remission for 5 years before donating. This is what I mean by procedures and practices, nurse and doctor not on the same page. What should have happened on that very first day the nurse should have looked that up and told me a simple no, you have to be in remission for 5 years. So I wanted to talk to the doctor to find out the reason and why him and his nurses are not on the same page. They kept dodging me and beating around the bush, finally talked to a manager saying he will have the doctor call me. Never heard from the doctor still. They waisted 22 days of my life and I drive a truck so about $120 in gas. If I don't here from the doctor, I will call the better business bureau. This place runs these "first time deals" to trap you because their business sucks. You can see it in the employees faces, they have a horrible leader (manager) is my guess and no one wants to be there. Save yourself the trouble and don't get tricked into their first-time donor trap go somewhere else, trust me!
Desired outcome: I want an explanation from the doctor why he denied my form when the nurse said i was good to donate.
