BJ's Wholesale Club Defective A/C Unit and Poor Customer Service at BJ's Wholesale in Monroe, NY

I recently purchased an A/C unit from BJ's Wholesale in Monroe, NY for a hefty price of almost $500. At first glance, everything seemed to be in order as the box was in pristine condition. However, upon opening the box later that afternoon, my husband and I were shocked to find a beat-up unit that was at least two years old. To make matters worse, the unit emitted a foul smell and water poured out of it when we attempted to turn it on.

We immediately decided to return the defective unit the next morning. My husband went to BJ's and was told that the unit we received was not the one they gave us, and they refused to refund or exchange it. I decided to go back to the store myself to speak with the manager. When I asked her if they had ever opened the box to check the unit's condition, she replied that they do not do that. I was taken aback and asked her how they could claim that the unit was in mint condition if they had never even checked it. She then went on to say that if the box was damaged, they would not sell it. I reminded her that I did not spend almost $500 on the box, but on the unit itself. I was shocked when she insinuated that BJ's would never do something like that and that they had never racially profiled anyone. This made us feel humiliated and embarrassed, especially since our children were with us.

Unfortunately, we were not able to get our money back, and we are now out almost $500. This experience has left us feeling disappointed and frustrated with BJ's Wholesale. We hope that they will take better care in checking the condition of their products before selling them to customers.

BJ's Wholesale Club Disappointed with BJ's Wholesale and Metropolitan Warehouse's Delivery Service

I recently made a purchase on BJ's Wholesale website, bjs.com, for a patio set on September 11th, 2021. I was excited to receive my order and was given a delivery date of September 29th, between 1pm and 5pm, with their contracted company, Metropolitan Warehouse. However, on the day of delivery, Metropolitan Warehouse never showed up.

I immediately called Metropolitan Warehouse to inquire about the status of my delivery. The agent on the phone informed me that nobody was home to receive the delivery because nobody picked up the phone. I was shocked and frustrated by this response. I asked the agent if anyone had knocked on the door, to which they replied, "The driver called while they were 20 minutes away and since nobody answered the phone, they canceled the delivery." I explained to the agent that a delivery was scheduled between 1pm and 5pm and not showing up or knocking on the door is absolutely no excuse. (So calling is the new knocking) I tried calling back within 2 minutes several times and nobody answered. I had no option to leave a voicemail.

The agent then informed me that the next delivery available was on October 15th, 2021, or I could pick up the item at the warehouse. This is where my issue with BJ's comes in. If you were to google or look for reviews on Metropolitan Warehouse, you would understand how horrific this company is when it comes to deliveries. BJ's knows this company has a 1.8-star rating with thousands of customers, yet they continue using them as their primary delivery service. I was extremely disappointed with BJ's and Metropolitan Warehouse and will not be ordering anything online via BJ's again. One and done!

Overall, my experience with BJ's Wholesale was not a positive one. The lack of communication and professionalism from Metropolitan Warehouse, coupled with BJ's continued use of their services, left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I hope that BJ's takes customer feedback seriously and considers using a more reliable delivery service in the future.

BJ's Wholesale Club Beware of the BJ Mastercard: Promises Unfulfilled and Terrible Customer Service

I recently got a BJ Mastercard and let me tell you, it's been nothing but trouble. I was promised credit for purchases made in-store, but the card only seems to work online. So much for that promise! And don't even get me started on the supposed $0.10 off per gallon of gas. That never materializes either, unless you physically go into the store to claim your few cents credit. What a hassle!

But the real kicker is the customer service. It's a joke. I've had to wait on hold for a half hour or more just to reach a human being. And when I finally do, they add service charges to my bill for no apparent reason. The first month, I was hit with a $2.00 service charge for an "unknown" reason. It was only removed when I finally got through to a human. The second month, I was charged a $30 late fee because their automated phone system screwed up the numbers or something. Every time I call, it's just apologies and promises that they're "working on it." But nothing ever gets fixed, and the fees just keep piling up.

BJ's keeps repeating that they have nothing to do with the credit card company, but they're aware of the problem and "working on it." But let's be real here: they're the ones who lure customers into using this card with promises of rewards and discounts. They should take some responsibility for the problems their customers are facing.

Overall, I would say BEWARE of the BJ Mastercard. It's not worth the hassle and frustration.

BJ's Wholesale Club BJ's Wholesale: Poor Customer Service and Communication for Patio Set Delivery

I recently made a purchase on bjs.com for a 7 piece patio set. The website indicated that the delivery would come in three boxes, which we did receive. However, upon opening the boxes to put the set together, we noticed that two of the boxes were the same and the box with the two swivel chairs was missing. I immediately called customer service to explain the issue.

After speaking with the warehouse, they informed me that they had confused my order with someone else's order and that we had each other's chairs. They requested to pick up the chairs that I had received, but I was hesitant to do so until I received the correct chairs. I explained that it was not fair for me to wait for another customer to return my order before receiving my correct order.

Unfortunately, my experience with BJ's Wholesale did not improve from there. I spent hours on the phone with numerous representatives from both BJ's and the warehouse, and each person I spoke to gave me a different story. I was promised multiple times that I would receive a return call, but I never did.

Finally, after much frustration, I was able to schedule a drop off/pick up for 9/24. However, the delivery drivers called to inform me that they would be arriving in 20 minutes, but they did not show up until an hour and a half later. When I called the warehouse to inquire about the delay, they informed me that the truck had broken down. No one had bothered to inform me of this delay, and the problem still remained unresolved after several more hours on the phone.

At this point, I have given up on receiving the correct chairs and have decided to keep the ones that were delivered with my order. However, I will never order anything online that has to go through the warehouse again. The lack of communication and organization from BJ's Wholesale was extremely frustrating and time-consuming.

BJ's Wholesale Club Unprofessional Behavior at BJ's Wholesale in West Nyack, NY

I've been a member of BJ's Wholesale for a few years now and I usually spend around $200 or a little more each week. However, my recent experience at the BJ's in West Nyack, NY was not a pleasant one. I encountered a worker named Abigail who had no idea how to treat a client. When I asked her about the price of a product, she responded in a sarcastic tone that made me feel like she was insinuating that I was trying to hide something. I explained that the products were all together in my cart, but she still seemed to doubt me.

To make matters worse, I had to return one of the scanned products to my car because my basket was full. When I called Abigail again to let her know what I had done, she was very rude and told me to relax before turning her back on me. Despite her behavior, I finished my purchase and approached her to let her know that she needed to treat clients better. However, she responded with more rude comments and called the manager over.

It's a shame that BJ's Wholesale is losing clients like me because of workers like Abigail. I've seen her behave this way towards other people as well. However, I still like BJ's for my purchases and prefer it over Costco and Sam's Club. I hope that BJ's management takes action to ensure that their workers treat clients with respect and professionalism.

BJ's Wholesale Club Unfair Treatment and Poor Management at BJ's Wholesale in Merritt Island, FL

I recently had an experience at BJ's Wholesale in Merritt Island, FL that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. The manager, Marie Rogers, seemed to be watching my every move while I was working. Despite the fact that I had already had a long day and was feeling exhausted, I still showed up for work and did my best to take care of customers' orders. However, according to Marie and her right-hand associate, Salisha Hogans, I was moving too slowly and not doing a good job.

Over the course of about 45 minutes, Marie watched me process pre-sliced orders and take care of customers' requests. A few days later, I had had enough of their tactics of trying to find reasons to terminate my employment, so I decided to quit. However, just five minutes after I made my decision, another manager, Tammie, and Michelle pulled me aside and told me that the way I was working was not following policy. I found this to be very interesting, as I had been taught to work in the same way as the other associates who were slicing and processing orders. None of them had received a verbal warning, so why was I being singled out?

It seemed to me that the managers at BJ's were just looking for a reason to get rid of me, even though I was doing my job and showing up for work even on my days off when we were understaffed. I thought about working the last few days left, but since it seemed like they were planning on finding reasons to terminate me anyway, I decided not to show up. After all, if they didn't have any hours to give me, they would just find another employee to work under them. It's no wonder that so many people have quit after only a month or three of working there.

If you're looking for a full-time job right away, BJ's may not be the best option for you. Even if you do get hired, you'll likely be treated poorly and given hours on their terms, not yours. Marie had promised to place me in the produce department since the previous person was leaving, but after working there for a month and a half, I saw no progress. In the end, I left and found a better job that paid more. Good riddance to BJ's!

BJ's Wholesale Club Disappointing Service and Long Lines at BJ's Wholesale: A Customer's Review

I had a pretty bad experience with BJ's Wholesale recently and I just had to write about it. A few months ago, I visited their gas station in Danvers and was shocked to see that only half of their bays were open. The rest were blocked by cones, causing long lines of cars that often spilled over to the front of the store. When I asked why the cones were there, the attendants told me that the receipt printers and pumps were not working properly. I couldn't believe it! Why wouldn't they fix the problem or train their attendants to do so? Why not have a maintenance contract in place to service the pumps regularly? It just didn't make sense to me that a service business like BJ's would allow such long lines to form.

I decided to call their headquarters to complain, but unfortunately, the cones were still there a few days later. Even now, at least one or two bays are blocked by cones. It's frustrating to see that BJ's doesn't seem to care about making their customers happy and satisfied.

And just today, I had another bad experience with BJ's. My wife had placed a curbside pickup order at the same store, and I followed the directions on the app to announce my arrival. I clicked the link on the app and waited for 10 minutes, then clicked it again and waited some more. After waiting for over 20 minutes, no one showed up. When I went inside to inquire about it, I was told that I hadn't clicked the app. I couldn't believe it! I was so unhappy with the experience.

Overall, I'm really disappointed with BJ's Wholesale. They seem to have a lot of issues with their service and customer experience. I hope they can improve in the future and make things right for their customers.

BJ's Wholesale Club Lounge Chairs

We saw lounge chairs advertised pin the brochure that we saw a week ago and they were on a page advertising “up to 30% off”. We drove to the store to purchase them and the manager would not give us the discount, and was actually not even nice. She did however, admit that the brochure was “misleading” and “not honest”. That being said, we will not renew our BJ’s membership again after having been members for 20 years. You have no idea how we were made to feel. Should you care to address this, we can be contacted at [protected].

Desired outcome: We would like to purchase the chairs at the advertised discount.

BJ's Wholesale Club Membership fees debit

My name is Queen Dean and my membership isn't due until the end of June,

but I was informed that BJ's without authorization had debit a visa that doesn't belong to me but a friend who used her card because I forgot mine.

I, call last year and informed customer service not to debit my visa and I will pay in cash, but this isn't the first time that the wrong card was debited, the last year they debit my card and it was the wrong card and I wasn't given the opportunity to make a decision as to which card I wanted to pay the fees from, also My card was ungraded which I didn't know about.

Customer service representative said that he would issue a refund and change the membership as it was before, the representative also verify that I had called last year and he could not understand why the card was charge for fees, no care if there were funds in the account or what this could have cause.

Desired outcome: 1, Refund2 No more automatic debits for membership, let the customer decide. they know their situation better than BJ's does.

BJ's Wholesale Club Wellsley farm product

Purchase of Animal Crackers -- presently, I no longer have a receipt because I did not feel there would be any reason to keep.

Always loved animal crackers and was disappointed as were guests, upon eating them!

Truely these were not at all a bit tasty to enjoy, thus have this container of animal crackers being fed to "wildlife" around my home.

Wished to complain directly to Wellsley Farm-but was unable to locate its contact.

Truely disappointed-hope the wildlife enjoy

BJ's Wholesale Club An employee

Today I spent approximately $200.00 at BJS parkland. This is my go to place. I have the Gas card & shopping card. Today after shopping - I was getting out the parking lot backing up to get out, only for one of your employees to stand behind my car. As I was backing up my car was beeping, a signal with the newer cars to let you know something is there. I stopped only for the employee to berate me and chastised me for backing up as she claimed she was there. She was not there as I was putting my items in my trunk of my car. That was clearly a lie. As she was cursing and using offensive language with her hand movements, she was taking photos of my license plate and refused to move from the back of my car. As she was taking picking and cursing at me - I got out my car & I took a picture of her as I said to her, “you’re taking pictures as I can and I’ll be sure to send it to the right person. I usually don’t complain as my job is also in the customer service field for the airlines. I am saddened that this is the behavior of our younger generation and as it turns out of of the employees of one of my all time favorite shopping places. I am canceling my membership and my gas card immediately. I am so disappointed that bjs are hiring anyone that needs a job. Maybe it’s quantity of employees rather than the quality of the employees.

BJ's Wholesale Club 2 tank anne klein tank tops

I went to BJS in Farmnindale, New York on June 2, 2023. I picked up 2 Anne Klein tank tops and put them in my cart. I proceeded to the check out with my several other items. I paid $378 with my BJs credit card. I loaded everytghing into my car went home and unpacked my belongings.

On Saturday, June 3m 2023, I realized that the cashier did notgive my the tan tops that I purchased and paid for. I didnt have time to go back on Satrurdy, so i went back on Sunday, June 4, 2023. I went up to the members service desk and asked if I can get two more tank tops, since they didnt give me mine.

I was met by a rude manager who told me that once I walk out of the store, then it became my problem. I proceeded to tell her that the merchandise was not given to me. She then told me that if it was left here, that it would be up in the front service area, buyt it was not. Then she proceeded to tell me that I left it in the cart, or when I turned around someone took it.

She basically was saying that I had it, All these for 2 tank tops totalling $17.00.

I am now going to cancel my membership and shop at costco.

BJ's Wholesale Club Berkeley and Jensen 13 gallon kitchen trash bags

Although everyone is cutting cost it’s understandable. There is a bigger issue though and that is quality verses raising your prices. I’m sure your customers would prefer a slight cost increase over the quality which brings me to the Berkeley and Jensen 13 gallon kitchen trash bags. I am shocked of just how these trash bags we have used have been reduced to not even being able to put them on the same trash can we’ve had forever! Every single one of the bags rip immediately upon trying to get them on. I three times tried and three times ripped over and over!

What is going on here with everyone raising prices but the workers all over the USA aren’t getting pay increases. I’m sorry to say I’ll just go shop at Costco again.

BJ's Wholesale Club Wellsley farms chicken breast in water

05/21/23 @ 1430.

Took 2 unopened cans of premium chunk chicken breast in water - added mayo. While my wife was eating it she bit down on something really hard. I have saved it - and it looks like a chicken bone. I took pics of the small bone and the 2 cans I mixed together. Both had a barcode of [protected], on the bottom both had the #C032323 (1743) Best Buy 032326. These came in a 6 pack from BJ’s, purchased on Wed 05/17/23 from the BJ’s in Manchester NH. I took pics of both cans and the bone, if needed. No dental trauma

Desired outcome: Free chicken for a year sounds about right.

BJ's Wholesale Club BJs Portland Maine

[protected] I will never step foot in a BJS again my wife and I have been members since the store first opened in maine. And management did want to hear what I had to say about this situation instead the front end manager looks at us and says his employee is fine. The big kicker is the store manager yelled at me to leave and my wife waited in line to get a refund and the store manager says to the front end manager "that guy was a [censored]ing [censored]" Profesional at Bjs best. When this could have been avoided. And they did nothing but twist words. So we left with nothing and BJs lost 355 dollars that's great for business maybe you'll be the next company to shut it's doors.

Desired outcome: Asked to leave the store and the store manager called me "a [censored]ing [censored] to the front end manager

BJ's Wholesale Club Customer services

Hi my is Giordani lesly Berrouet. I am a black young male in my thirties. Approximately around 6:00-6:20 I entered the BJ’s on 34-60 48th St store club #364 to purchase baby wipes and pain relief medicine, but was abruptly interrupted by the on duty Officer at the time “Officer Ruiz badge number 29070” based on the premises that the manager didn’t want me in the store. I expressed that he or the manger didn’t have the right to tell me to leave because I never committed any criminal acts in the past or at the current time of confrontation that warranted me a trespasser. The supposal manger is Joni AL “front end lead”. Your employee used racial discrimination in his decision process to come terms to tell the police officer to engage with me so I may leave the BJ’s. I wasn’t in the store for more the 5 minutes when I walked pasted Joni AL and a younger employee minding my business going to health and beauty lane to look for pain medicine when he sent officer Ruiz. I showed my membership and ID to verify my legitimacy. I am highly emotionally disturbed by the situation because your employee viewed me many times purchasing at this BJ’s and ranged me up a few times. I should not be treated wrongly base on how I look. I never did nothing wrong entering your establishment.

Desired outcome: I would like a copy of the tape of me entering BJs number 364 and the whole situation that occurred.Front end lead JonI AL fired for racial discrimination by profiling a BJs member because I’m black.

BJ's Wholesale Club Order and not being delivered

On April 13th I placed order # [protected] to be delivered. I paid for the order using my Capital One BJ's One + card ending in 3509. Email acknowledged they received order.

Next email said order was processed and would be on it's way. Order never showed up. I called the Orange Park store and was told they would look into it, and get back to me. Meanwhile I get another email saying " We had a problem delivering your same-day delivery order # [protected].

I get a call back saying the service they use for delivery couldn't pay for the order and left it. Now understand I paid for the order as I always do so this does not make any sense to me. They also said they would refund the money to my Capital One CC which as of today (9 days later) has not happened.

I expected that they would have offered to have the order deliver sometime that day as the order was placed in the morning. Customer service offered nothing but excuses (more than 1) and no solutions.

I have been a customer for more than 15 years, first in Philadelphia at the Red Lion location then here in Orange Park Florida and I have never had this problem before. At this point I'm reconsidering whether or not to renew my membership later this year.

Tires: bought my tires here and was told no charge for switching back and forth from winter to summer and vice versa, lo and behold was charged 67.00 today. Then they screwed up my daughters apt after she went all the way there. Generator purchase: severely damaged item, asked to come and get it, told by Rotterdam manager, too bad bring it onto the store...

BJ's Wholesale Club Coupons and not providing products

I have been a member for many years and now ready to cancel my membership no longer offering items we frequently purchase. One example below and there are other items as well…no enough room for other items.

Coffee pods — Green Mountain Dark Magic (gone), AND Starbucks Sumatra pods, your offer coupons for this, however not in any of the 4 locations near us.

Gasoline should be included with our membership, we should not be required to get a Mastercard to purchase gas for this very small saving…only pennies.

I could go on and on, but there are other changes and we are no longer happy being a BJs member. We now buy coffee on Amazon…not what we wanted to do.

Unhappy members…. we have complained to our local customer service, but they have limited power for our concerns.

Desired outcome: I doubt any changes will be made.
