the food service
Last night I visited Bob Evans Restaurant #563 1624 Coshocton Ave. Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. We arrived about 5:45 pm. My husband and I both ordered breakfast which was terrible. We both drank coffee that was ice cold. My husband had burnt French toast and burnt hash browns as they told us the grill chef had left that night because of the mess. I personally had the sunrise breakfast that was all cold (bacon, eggs, hashbrowns) because it was sitting in the window a long time while waiting on my husbands food. I also ordered an English muffin on the side. The waitress waited until our food came out to tell me they were out of English muffins and never offered me anything else. There were people around us that had all left and we almost did as well but we decided to stay. We are weekly customers at Bob Evans and were throughly disappointed with the service and food, as we are almost always satisfied. We were at the restaurant for about and hour and a half. This dining experience was by far one of the worst that I've ever experienced. I thought that it was necessary to give you a heads up because it was an horrific experience and I hope that this issue gets resolved or we may not be back.
country fried steak/service
On 8/19/18 I had a recent bad experience at Bob Evans with the quality, taste of meal and service. It was early evening and not crowded there were many booths clean with silverware. The waitress went past these booths instead of seating me. I had to wait while she cleared off an uncleaned booth. I was seated and given menu there was no silverware. What I found annoying was waitress was not organized making back and forth trips that was not necessary. She brought everything one at time so instead of making one or two trips made four trips back to table. The silverware should have already been placed on table before seating customer. The drink, rolls, entree was each served separate, it seems the rolls and entree could have been served at same time. It was annoying the number of times returning to booth. I had ordered country fried steak with gravy on the side, the gravy was too thick and tasteless. I only portion of gravy on plate, the breaded steak had more breading than meat. It was not a good meal, will not order it again. It was later that evening became sick and vomited.
This was one bad experience, however, would like to go give Bob Evans a chance again. Do you offer a coupon?
food and staff in restaurant
this morning my husband and I went to the restaurant there at 5091 n.high st. we got there a little after 12.00 p.m. the waitress was ok(have had lots better service) .I ordered the double meat meal with the pancakes and eggs.i also ordered an xtra egg all over easy. well when received the meal the potatoes were burnt (the cubed 1's my eggs were hard they actually hid 1 under the rest because had no yolk at all was totally hard).when I commented to the waitress about the eggs she said will get you another 1 well it came in no better shape than the others.i was given 1 container of syrup was never given a chance to ask for more. the grill had apparently never been scraped the sausage had what looked like onion fried on it.(stuck to both sides). the busser and a couple of other male waiters were standing around talking like it was a locker room (1 of these waiters ended up apologizing to customers for their food not being right while we were sitting there).at the window there was so much food pile dup the cooks were literally stacking it together since there was no room and no one taking it out on the floor.never saw a manager in sight in front of the house.our bill was $31.08 we checked out at 13.46 p.m. I don't think we will be returning to this bob evans again for a long while .our cashier was #[protected] the eps sequence was #052529 thank you for listening to me. sincerely Beverly Compnotta - [protected]@yahoo.com
service/ quality
Today I visited Bob Evans on west Third street in Bloomington Indiana. The service was extremely poor although the wait was less than the 45 minutes it took to get my order the last time I visited.
The buttermilk pancakes were terrible and the small container of watered down syrup was not nearly enough to make them good. McDonalds pancakes are much better and a lot quicker to get without asking for a tip for shoddy service!
I won't be in a hurry to try this location again. I would recommend diners to go anywhere else!
the ethics of the management
I asked my general manager for a transfer and she told me she doesn't want me to work for anyone else. The morning I worked I texted her to talk to her then asked the manager on duty to relieve me of my shift to talk to the general manager about better opportunities for myself. She said she would eventually transfer me but instead she took me off the schedule, I went to Springfield Ohio for a interview and they are waiting to speak to the general manager of my store but no response.i have a ton of witness from the day and text messages that confirm our decision but no one has contacted except from my store and it's unfair. I would love to discuss this matter with someone who is a higher authority than my general manager. Please [protected]
pancakes
We ate at the Chillicothe Ohio Bob Evans and my husband went to bite into his pancakes and there was a large very hard piece of plastic in his pancakes. He gave them back to the server and told her and she just brought another order of pancakes out. He did not want them after finding the plastic in them prior. The manager then came out to apologize and came up with an excuse. Not once did the manager even try to discount or even take the order of pancakes off of the order. Very disappointing and will not return to this bob Evans.
Fried chicken served after 4 PM
While on vacation we stopped at the bob evans restaurant in Lebanon Ohio # 054338
especially for the fried chicken you can only get after 4 PM which it was 4:36. When we ordered the waiter told us he was just told that the chicken would not be ready till 4:30 or 5 . Didn't bother anyone there that your word was worth nothing and that you were not doing your job however you sure didn't hesitate to jump all over the accusations and yes I said accusations about Urban Meyers and dropped him like a hot potato without any knowledge or proof of guilt. Well I have the proof that you lied and I and family are dropping you like a hot potato and hope many more will. Your business does NOT deserve someone like Urban Meyers to speak for you he is way too honest for your business.

lost glasses that were never returned
Dear Sirs:
I am writing to complain that my prescription eyeglasses that I left behind at one
of your restaurants in Louisville, Kentucky were never returned to me. I called as
soon as I realized what I had done, they found them and they were being held in
the office at the restaurant. I was told that Donna, the manager at the restaurant,
had mailed them to me. However, I've never received them and she will NOT RETURN
my numerous phone calls. This was about two months ago!
I also spoke to Joe Smith who confirmed that she told him that she mailed them to
me. I don't know what to think about this, except that she may have kept them or
lost them. These were expensive glasses and I really miss them.
I would appreciate it if someone in your office would look into this for me, because
I haven't got anywhere with my inquiries.
Thank you. The restaurant is near Brownboro Rd. in Louisville.

employment verification process sucks
My daughter worked for bobevans for just two days in the first quarter of 2018 at the centerville, oh location. From past two months we have been trying to get a employment verification document from bobevans. My daughter's medical benefits were stopped because of not providing this document from bobevans on time.
There should be a simpler way to get the employment verification document. Why is so complicated and time consuming. I have been calling the numbers that I was provided. I have sent email with the required document. Every time I called, I was told that the hr department will get in touch with me with details. So far the so called hr department of bobevans has not contacted me. There are probably few case number generated for this issue so far. I don't know what else to do.
Bobevans if you are listening please confirm my daughters employment verification now.
service @ bob evan's restaurant ripley, wv 25271
On [protected] @ 6:10 my party of 5 went into the Bob Evan's in Ripley WV. They put our name on a wait list and said it would be twenty minutes or so. They called our name and took us to a four top table and to put five people . I said you expect us to set crowded at this table .Well it will be another twenty to thirty minute wait she stated. I said what about that five top in the corner there that can be cleared. We cant seat you there cause those waitress has a 15 top and she cant take that table as well. That table was dirty the whole time we were in the restaurant. I've been in there and they have large tables and still take that table. .Think it was a little rude of the Manager to do that. We left the store and went to est somewhere else.

horrible experience! no food! bad service!
Hello
On Sunday, July 1st, we (my wife, two sons and I) were making a trip to a waterpark in Crown Point, Indiana. Coming from Chicago and not having a Bob Evans near us, we were excited to be stopping for breakfast at your Merrillville location. We arrived around 9:50 a.m. and as expected there was a wait. Not a big deal to us as we know how popular the restaurant is. We got seated some time between 10:10 and 10:15. In looking around the restaurant, it looked like you expect on a Sunday morning . Busy but within five minutes the waitress was there taking our drink order and food order since we knew what we wanted. After bringing our drinks, it began to go downhill from there. We noticed at 10:50 that we had not received our food yet but again given it was busy and the restaurant did have a large party (around 30 individuals) to tend too, we waited patiently. At 11:00 a.m., other customers were growing anxious as they had not received their food either. Mind you, we had our drinks for over thirty minutes and no refills, no updates, nothing was being communicated to us. We finally overheard that the kitchen was short staff and orders were taking longer than normal. At 11:10 a.m., we saw two couples (separate tables) leave in frustration. While this all happening, there were other patrons being seated. Again still not update to us specifically, we were finding out by overhearing other customers being informed. Around 11:20 a.m., over an hour after being seated, we could believe what started to happen. Food started to come out from the kitchen slowly but to out surprise it wasn't our food but rather food for customers that were seated well after we arrived. There was a couple seated directly behind us who received their order about 30 minutes after being seated. Directly across from us was a family of four who also received their order. The waitress finally came over to inform us of the staff shortage and the kitchen was working to get orders out. My wife asked if we should just leave and responded that maybe our food is next as there were more orders being delivered to other tables. Finally at 11:35, we saw an order come out that was delivered to another couple who was seated behind us. That was it. Being seated over an hour with very little updates and no food. Can you imagine being in that situation? We left. I walked over to the waitress and informed her to cancel our order. She had no response. We walked out. Listen, we understand things happen and being short staff can make it difficult to maintain good service. But at no point was there a manager to apologize for what was going on (assuming he/she was in the kitchen) but this was beyond upsetting and frustrated. To watch people, of the same size party who were seated after us, get their food before us, was unacceptable. So now we left at 11:35, have to go find another restaurant to eat at and wait there to be seated and get service and food brought out, by that time it was after 1:00 p.m. Who wants to pay for a full day at a waterpark when you are only going to be there for a few hours. (waterpark closed at 5:00 p.m.) So we turnaround and went home. As I mentioned earlier, we like Bob Evans...correction love Bob Evans. We don't have one in Chicago so the Merrillville location is the closet but in our travels to the south, we frequent it as much as we can. But that day, was by far our worst experience in a restaurant. To have to sit there for over an hour, not get your food and then watch other customers seated after you start getting their food, was very FRUSTRATING AND UPSETTING. I hope you can imagine it in your mind...because I am sure you would feel the same way. Not sure if contingency plans were executed to help secure additional staff but I am sure lots of customers felt the same way we did as they left the restaurant.

server problem
On July 1, 2018, my sister and I visited the Bob Evans at 7412 McKnight Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. We entered the restaurant around 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. We placed our order. I had the meatloaf dinner and my sister had a hamburger and a bowl of soup. Well, there were other families seated in the same section as we were seated. We were offered drinks, bread and then the server took our order. Well, we waited approximately 45 minutes for our food. While we were waiting, other customers with 3 or 4 persons received their orders before ours -- even though our orders were taken before theirs. There were two servers in our section. All we could overhear is the great tips that the one server received after the quests left the restaurant. The other server kept asking them before they departed if they wanted any refills to take with them. All of these tables contained at least one male person. I also ordered apple pie with vanilla ice cream. The server bought the pie and no ice cream. It clearly states on the menu apple pie and vanilla ice cream. She took the pie back and added the ice cream to the order. We didn't experience the same over-the-top treatment that others received by the same server.
We always enjoyed Bob Evans, but the last two times it seemed that there was a server problem and that they are not managed very well. It seems that the people who get the best service are the ones with a male person at the table, the outdated theory being that there would be a bigger tip. We tip 15%, but didn't this time because we didn't receive equal service in a timely manner. This is the last time that we will go to Bob Evans. You can reply to danny.[protected]@verizon.net
carry out service
We happened to go and place a carryout order on Friday July 6 at 6:50pm. The host took are order as well as seated guest and took payments. He kept asking for rolls and a gallon of sweet tea for our order. Needless to say our food sat behind the cashier station for twenty five minutes. My husband went up to figure out what the hold up was. He was then told they were waiting on rolls and green ran for are order. My husband asked to speak to the manager. The General Manager came out and told us he just got back from vacation and he would give us the food that was ready. The food that had sat on the counter for thirty minutes with no lids. As a General Manager of a restaurant myself. I would never tell a guest that the lack of customer service was due to me just returning from vacation. So I didn't realize we would be short staffed. We left with no food at 7:45. We ended up going to Cracker Barrel and had our carryout within 10 minutes. It's sad that Bob Evans allows this restaurant to be run so poorly.

service
The Bob Evans restaurant in Elyria, Ohio is by far THE WORST place I have ever been. My wife and I just left there, after 45 minutes of waiting for our food. I could see if it was crowded, but there was maybe 20 people in the whole place. This is the second time I've experienced horrible service at this location. The first experience I had, my 14 year old son and I told them to just cancel the order. I'll pay for our drinks and I was on our way. This location is by far the worst Bob Evans I've ever been too
alliance bob evans
The waitress was ok but the food was horrible mine was way over cooked an old the sauce on top was jello wasn't even spread across brought me the wrong side brought us old cold bread my sister had burnt hash browns on her French toast her bacon was raw an not even on a sprate plate an on top of that as we were leaving the host mocked my sister an made fun of what I was wearing very disappointed with alliance bobs
Oh an now I have food poisoning
manager 3988 e broad st
Last evening June 27/2018, at approximately at 8:00 P.M., MY Wife, granddaughter and myself were at this BOB Evans for dinner
A customer sitting behind us to the left called the manager over to show him a piece of chicken that was under cooked. The customer was not loud or disrespectful but wanted to let the manager see the chicken thigh.
The manager started explaining that what the customer was seeing was a blood vein and the chicken had been cooked to specifications. The customer explained that he wasn't going to eat chicken that had blood showing (That was not at all in-reasonable. uncooked chicken can be a health hazard)
I had a similar experience at the Bob Evans on McNaughten Rd in Columbus, where the chicken wasn't completely cooked, but the manager at the store handled things correctly without incident
The customer didn't say he wasn't going to pay for the meal, but the manager who was completely unprofessional, kept talking about the chicken to the customer who then, rightly became irritated. It was embarrassing to the customer that the manager was speaking loud enough for other customers to hear
The manager said he would substitute the piece of chicken, so he offered the man a chicken wing (Seriously) !
All the manager had to do was take the piece of chicken off the bill, apologize to the customer and walk away.. He did not have to provoke the man
When the customer went to pay his bill the manager refused to take his money.. all the man wanted to do was pay his bill and leave the restaurant. Things got really loud and the manager then called the police and said the man refused to pay his bill. That was not the case at all
The police came and talked with the customer, and myself.. being a witness to what had taken place I felt it was my responsibility to let the police know what had taken place.. The customer "was not" wrong in this situation
The waitresses to remain professional even in light of the way their manager behaved
My family enjoy eating at Bob Evans, but will give a lot of thought to ever going back to this particular store.. That manager was rude and extremely unprofessional
please contact me at [protected]@yahoo.com if you would like to discuss this any further
