I ordered the cod dinner with stuffing, mac n cheese and rolls. When my dinner came out the mac n cheese was not with it. When it came out I had to send it back to be reheated. The server forgot my rolls. When I mentioned it to her she brought them back to the table. They were both squished. The server was nice but she had way too much on her plate, along with having too much fun with other co-workers! I asked for a box and had to wait quite a bit of time for it. Forget the check. I had to walk up front to get it myself. Then to finish it off, the girl at the register never asked me how everything was. I would have told her but she didn't seem to care. I love Bob Evans. I go there often. I suggest you get better servers and cashiers for this store. It is a Friday evening and the restaurant was not even half full. Maybe this has something to do with it? Your employees need to have more and/or better customer service training. I will not be back to this one, even though it is very close to me.

terrible service
We stopped for a salad after leaving the hospital before heading home. It took us 20minutes to get our waiter to take our order, watched our food sit up there ready to be served for another 10 minutes, he went to get us each a refill, he forgot. This service was beyond terrible. There were servers all around us doing nothing. I realize it was late in the evening, we arrived at 8pm but they were still opened and we should had been treated the same way as the 8am customers are. Not going to this restaurant again!

My wife and I went in to have breakfast. There were people all over the lobby waiting to be seated. We had the hostess put our name on a list and requested a booth. There was nowhere to sit or stand in lobby, so we went outside where there are three benches located. We waited outside for about 20 minutes and then we came back inside since we noticed an empty bench in the lobby. We noticed that everyone was being seated but us. I went to check with the hostess and she stated that she called our name, but no one in the lobby answered. I asked her if she ever thought to look outside. She stated that she didn't know she had to. I said to her that she needed to use intercom system. She stated that it doesn't work. I said that they either needed to get it fixed or remove the benches from outside. She offered us a table. I was really getting angered by then. I said that we always ask for a booth and you gave our booth to someone else. I said that I was leaving and never coming back. We left.
bob evans original mashed potatoes

This past Saturday (March 17, 2018) I purchased a package of your Original Mashed Potatoes for my St Patricks Day casserole. After heating the potatoes in the microwave, I used a spoon to scoop the potatoes into a dish. While scooping the potatoes, I found a large piece of white machinery in the potatoes. I searched the rest of the potatoes for any other pieces of white pieces and did not find any - it was a bad surprise and I was nervous to eat the potatoes, as if my guests or I bit into that piece of machinery - it could have caused major damage to our teeth and mouths! I threw the potatoes away and took a picture of the piece of machinery (attached below). I thought I should let you know so this does not happen again.
broccoli and cheese
I was expecting to have broccoli pieces, but had what would have came form a can as cream of broccoli not a side item. I bought this at Krogers last weekend. It was the first time I bought this. I get other side items, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese frequently. I was extremly disappointed in the quality of this product. Even my dog looked at it like " what the hell do you want me to do with it?"

We were at the oxford oh bob evans restaurant on 3/13/18 for dinner. The service was very low speed, floor dirty, my glass of water felt dirty, silverware not clean, my grilled chicken on my salad was like jerky, our waitress was a nice girl, seen her before there but is very under trained, the gentleman busing tables honestly smelled like body order everytime he walked past our table, very strong. The entire place is run by kids, I did see the manager but was not impressed. We have dined here several times prior to this day and found our experience to be similar if not worse. I'm so disappointed in this bob evans as this one is close to my house and bob evans is one of our favorites. I would eat at a bob evans anywhere else, but this bob evans is the worst i've ever been to and i've been to quite a few. When it first opened it was wonderful, it has really gone down hill. I hope these comments help to better the restaurant, improve training of staff and quality of service and food. Please believe me when I say, I am not a complainer at all but I will not return to this location until it improves, I will drive 30 minutes out of my way to go to another. Thank you for hearing me out.
macaroni & cheese
We usually love this product. Yesterday we bought the 20 oz. entree at Kroger's. Tonight I fixed it and it was awful! It was very mushy and like glue! The use by date was 04/01/18 KCL3.
Just wanted to let you know as this is not at all like the product we usually buy! It is pricer than most other mac and cheese entrees, but it is usually the best!
I also purchased the Macaroni & Cheese, same date 4/01/18 code KCL3, in Hartville Oh. It was very unappetizing looking, very mushy.

My family and I usually love bob evans. This particular day they had a pretty steady flow of people coming in. It took us about 25mins to be seated then waited about 20mins just to get our drinks! Pretty frustrating but we ordered. Once our food was recieved about 30mins later, most of it was all cold and half was wrong. We did let our waitor know and he was apologetic. We continued to eat anways due to being hungry and already waiting long enough. After we were done the waitor had split our bill up. We get to the register started paying then in the middle of paying we were told by the manager that we needed to go to the next register to pay. Why? We have no idea. She then had an attitude ringing up both bills. The one bill amount changed when she moved registers (not sure why) luckily we caught the mess up. She did not give the correct amount of change back so while waiting and explaing she owed us more money not saying a word just rudly gave us the correct amount. Shes supposed to be a manager? She was horrible! Bad enough the food was cold/wrong and took forever to get. But she just topped it off. Will not be going back there
home fries, restaurant style, paprika & onion seasoned potatoes
I was making a breakfast cassarole this morning using these potatoes, bob evans hot sausage, fresh eggs, green onions and cheddar cheese. When I opened the bag of potatoes and tasted the seasoning in the potatoes I thought it was very salty. I proceeded to make my dish only to find out that it was so salty that it was un-eatable. Why so much salt? Ruined the entire breakfast and had to be thrown out!

I ordered family size potato soup, 6 rolls.. When I got it home, went to pour it into bowls for dinner, it was basically a side dish of cubed potatoes with sauce. It was nothing but a ton of potatoes, no juice hardly at all. We couldnt eat it, but a few bites, tried to dip our rolls into it, but again no sauce. Also some of the potatoes was soft, some still hard. Also, I ordered and paid for extra bacon & scallions, didnt get that either. Was not good experience, and I ended up having to scramble around and make something for dinner. I have my receipt to send to you. I tried call to manager, was put on hold 7 min...so I hung up, again, I was trying to whip something up for my kids to eat.

She brought our food and we didn't see anyone after the for at least a good 10 minutes only reason why we seen her she got up to greet another employee that she called her mom one of the ladies began sneezing now I kid u not the younger girl went right back and finish eating the other employee went in the back out of the back grabbed her some food and sat down with the younger girl and ate now I kid you not 2 gentlemen came in waited a good 10 minutes before they was recognized the young lady came and told them they can sit were ever they want they sat by us we looked at each other I was shocked and so we're they I left a voicemail and the manager called and ask me what happen I began telling her and she went on to tell me I'm going to check the tape at least 5 times or more I'm like what's going on ma'am Im calling to complain about the service that I received long story short this lady makes no sense to me never in life will I ever go back to the bob Evans on miller read

We have always enjoyed Bob Evans.I grew up in Huntington WV.My parents shopped at Evans Markets.We have noticed a decline in the service we have received in the past year at your restaurants.On 3/3/18 about 2 pm we went to the Bob Evans in Harrison Ohio.We entered nobody to greet us.Someone at the cash register...She saw us and went to the kitchen..we thought she went to get someone to seat us..No she was learning the cash register we were ignored..waited both saw us and ignored us. We left no response from Bob Evans.Bob would not be proud of this service.
large salad, not enough lettuce not enough lettuce
On 2/15/2018 I went to the Bob Evans on Reynolds Rd. In Toledo, Ohio to pick up a carry out order, a large cranberry grilled chicken salad at approx. 1:30pm. I noticed when I went to eat it, that there was very little lettuce for a large salad. I complained about it when it continued to be the case with the next 2 salads I ordered. I told the employee answering the phone about it on 2/21/2018.I was given a phone number to the customer service dept. for the restaurant. I called the next day and was told by the person answering the phone, that I would receive a call back either that day or Monday about it, since it was Friday when I called. I Never received a phone call back. Obviously, this is Very Poor customer service. In the last few years, they have closed one Bob Evans restaurant in Toledo, and I expect, if this kind of thing continues, there will be more closings. There is So much competician out there, that I would think that a business would do whatever it could to keep its loyal customers? Not the case, with this manager, who I was told, would be told about it, and was to be given my name and phone number. I was out to dinner with friends that Monday, and one of them happened to be an Assistant Manager at a local Tony Packo's restaurant, here in Toledo, I was telling him about the incident, as well as the whole table, and he assured me, I would be receiving a definite % off coupon, if not, a free salad. I received neither, nor even a call back! I was surprised at this lack of care of an older restaurant chain. I was a regular customer of theirs, now I probably will get my salads elsewhere, since there are many restaurants to chose from on my way to work.
I hope this will make a difference in how Bob Evans handles their future complaints and customers. Or they will be just another restaurant chain that goes under. I have yet to receive any kind of communication from the Manager of the restaurant or from their Customer Service Dept. I paid $9.49 for this salad. I'm quite sure lettuce was the cheapest thing in the salad and could well afford to give me a normal amount of lettuce!

This manager through a fit on all his employees rant and raving taking utensils beating on stuff cursing threatening jobs . Also making waitress run the dish tank while taking and assembling orders and tell them it's part there job description . He also demeans and yells at them in front of customers . No to mention he does nothing but play on Facebook and hollers at his employees for no reason .
biscuits and gravy and toast
in my younger days I spent 8yrs traveling the back roads of america. I pitched my tent in every state in the lower 48, ate in hundreds if not thousands of mom and pop restaurants and Bob Evans was always among the best for a couple reasons..
#1 breakfast..my toast was always Hot...! Yes my toast at other places was also hot but bob evans..it was Always hot. who wants cold or cool toast that cannot even melt butter..Thank you for that...it is no longer the case but once upon a time it was...
#2 Biscuits and gravy...among the best anywhere! my hats off to you here..you could smother your biscuits in gravy and enjoy a hearty meal with ice cold milk..
well this leads m to my issue ...I just ordered online biscuits an gravy and the tiny Styrofoam cup of gravy was not even enough to give the biscuits a good smothering..it barely covered them..This is unacceptable! I understand cost cutting but at the exspense of the quality?
Whats it gonna cost to add more gravy? honestly not enough to ruin the companies reputation.
I shall never again order carry out biscuits and gravy.
menu change
Went to eat tonight at bob evans and it was awful. ordered a wildfire salad and when we got it, it was nothing like we ever got there before. the chicken was drizzled with the Wilfred sauce not coated also they do not use the same crispy strip and the chicken was not even boasted like it used to be.
This has always been a family and elderly like restaurant We talked to the manager and he told us of the upcoming changes and it sounds like it is going
to be a beastro like theme, which will never work. When you change the taste
of the menu of what people expect I cannot see this working. We have went
here for 25 yrs and will not be going back after tonight. And also serving
mashed potatoes with an ice cream scoop is very tacky. You are going to
have to take it slow because you are making changes on an old restaurant
chain that has been around forever you are going to have to tread very lightly.
I hope you can make it work but from what I have recently read about the new changes I do not see this working at all. I give it about one year.
cleaning of restrooms
I was at Bob Evans to have dinner with my daughter last evening(2/1/18) between 7-8PM. When I went to use the restroom, I noted that someone was cleaning one of the stalls. Not thinking anything of it, I entered a stall across from the one being cleaned. When I thought I heard a male voice in restroom, I paused and waited. I listened to see if the other person was going to leave. When I did not hear the person leave (door did not open), I opened the stall door and found the guy standing at the sink waiting for me to finish. I felt that this was very inappropriate. If a male had the duties to clean the restroom, a sign should be posted that the restroom is not available. The idea that this person remained in the restroom was upsetting and unsettling. I hope that there is a more appropriate policy for cleaning the restrooms.

I took me and my two kids and my husband to the Bob Evans and they were very rude our soul was very cold they didn't want to give refills after my kids spilled there drinks my eggs like super cold and runny my husband toes with like over well done and when I told her that we didn't want it anymore she said it was too late cuz she already put the food on the table so I'll pay for it and I left like I don't have nothing else to say

Went to Bob Evans on Georgesville, Columbus, Ohio on 1/28/18. Got seated right away had to wait on a waitress to decide when she would come & wait on us, in meantime lead took our drink orders. Savannah finally came (we have had her before, not good) took our order. waiting 30 minutes to get soup & 1/2 sandwich. Never refilled coffee cup. Went up to see where our order was and the lead brought out the wrong order and she finally came with our original order. Had to have someone else get a coffee refill. I have been going to Bob Evans for 20 years and have never seen a restaurant in such ids-array since taken over by private investors. It's like you have no pride in what the restaurants look like. I went in there one evening and the host told me he was so bored I told him he could clean the spills running down the sides of the booths or the food on the lampshades over the tables or he could run the sweeper or even wash the divider windows. He looked at me like I had lost my mind. In my house when I invite someone to eat I make sure my house is clean and they do not have to run the sweeper or worry if their food is hot and I always give refills. Not only was I disappointed but there were some friends there and they had been waiting an hour for their food. The manager that is on at this shift does not know what the hell he is doing or how to manage teenagers or 20 something kids. If you want a job you work that job or leave it. They all need to be fired and start with new ones. I come there for breakfast 2-3 times a week and do not have any of these problems. I know that you have a sweeper maybe someone needs to take the time to show them how to use it or how to wipe down the booth and tables and wipe up food of of light fixtures and windows. Disgusting place tonight, not sure if I will go back. This has happened several other times and still not corrected. Please sell back to the family, obviously you cannot run a restaurant.
the carryout service at bob evans in van wert ohio
I placed an order for carryout by phone and they told me it would be ready at 5 p.m. Needless to say I went to pick it up and ended up waiting 35 minutes to actually receive the order. The people working the checkout and also in the kitchen are ridiculously slow and you could even hear them talking how they didn't know whose carryout order was whose. They also would avoid makin eye contact because they knew people were aggravated. This is ALWAYS a problem with the late afternoon/early evening shift there. This is not the first or second time it has happened. I really could kick myself for thinking they will change. Such poor service. In fact so bad and they knew it they gave me the food for free. But even at that they didn't even have the order right. UGH! The service when you go in to eat there is fine but the front counter is absolutely horrendous!
