Choice home warranty requested that we perform service at (2) different locations. We followed all the procedures, given them full documentation of the bills, got authorization #s by choice home warranty employees, sent invoices within 5 days and they have since owing the bills have hung up on us, not returned our calls, lied repeatedly and given the following excuses several times: ***the employee names are erica greene, rebecca and marie***
1 need new contractor application to process your payment
2 the check is in the mail
3 the replacement check # is 528956
4 we do not have record of this claim
5 the claim is under investigation
6 we will call you back
7 we do not have a signed ticket
8 we didn’t receive your invoice
9 we do not have the authorization #
Now they are saying we have to sign a bogus contract that states we release them from any payments or litigation... Before we get paid... Um yea right... Beware to any contractors or customers! Read that contract before you sign anything! If they treat the contractors this way how will they treat the customers after they already got what they wanted from you!
As for choice home warranty if I lived in nj I would be stopping by instead of calling.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Choice Home Warranty is a deadbeat. We are a small HVAC contractor in central NJ. We completed approximately a dozen service calls for them between February - April of this year, 2022. They refuse to pay for work that they authorized. I am now in the process of billing and dunning the homeowners whom we serviced. They are not liking this. At all. But I have no other choice. Choice owes us about $2K. Not enough to hire a lawyer and as an LLC I cannot take them to small claims court myself. I put the account into collection and the collection agent told me that they are not in the least bit concerned that they haven't paid us. They are dirt bags through and through.
I’m down 30k in pa let’s chat we need to get people together to be heard
I've taken on about $2k worth of claims for them over the past month for garage doors. Now I'm regretting it. Did you ever get paid?
They keep referring to the contract we signed and honestly not sure if that contract is legal since they have no timelines on when to pay their contractors
How long have you been waiting for the payment ? It's been almost a year for me and nothing
I own Fair Services Company and I have never been able to get payment for the parts or work I have done with choice home warranty. Even a year later they are still trying to tell me it's going to be six more weeks for me to get paid. I lost my home my work truck almost put me out of business and they say that it's normal for them to hold your payment for 6 months and then take 6 more weeks a year later to pay out
Is there any contractors that have gotten paid yet.i been told to have to wait 180 days which I did and now they are telling me I have to line up in the queue in which I asked how long will that be and they aren't giving me any information so seems like another round of chaos with no end in site
I'm a pool contractor in Olive Branch, MS. I have over 40 tickets billed in 2021, I sent 17 of them to a Vendor Relations manager in June 2021, and everyone I spoke to said I'd get paid. I had no access to vendor portal and everyone was working from home due to pandemic and no one could fix portal so they told me to call them in and don't worry you'll get paid. I haven't gotten paid and I continued to do work last year bc they said if I went inactive they wouldn't pay me. I constantly asked about my 2021 money. Emailed my lists to an email I recently found out had been non existent for some time. Filed BBB report Jan 2023.. received call from ORIGINAL vendor manager that I emailed June 2021 and there is no end in sight for me. This is like 25,000 plus dollars worth of tickets. You ask, why did you keep doing work? Well they paid me last year and I kept getting reassured those would be paid. What I may have to do is take every customer to court to get the money for all the equipment and parts on their systems. I do not know what else to do. Let me also add, I never approached Choice they called me in 2020 begging me to help them due to pandemic situation. Ive never seen a contract. I was a credit card payment vendor. If you have any suggestions I'm all ears.
Wow that doesn't assure me at all which looks like they won't pay me either .Iam not sure how are they allowed to keep operating.i might have to do the same thing where I will need to bill all their customers since they signed my contract that they are responsible for payment made.let me know pls how things go with you also many contractors are trying to come together to file a class action I will also keep on eye on that to see where it could lead
Did any one get paid yet ? Now it seems like we can't even speak to a live person at all what is the matter with these guys
if they told you 180 days , you will never see your money
Did you ever get paid? I too was told to wait 180 days and it has been over a year. I called today and they said I had to wait 365 days and that has always been the policy not 180 days. I have it in writing they 180 days. I am just wondering if I will ever get paid.
I ended up getting paid but they took a big chunk out of it I believe it's was like 35 percent of what I was owed. I am just done working for home warranty companies
They tell me there is no other department to speak to. No payment director or anything! This is the most [censored] scam and they think we are dumb!
Choice Home Warranty should be banned from doing business! Cheating customers and contractors!
I had the SAME routine, happened to me. Work performed within 3 months from 8/8/2022 to 11/3/2022.
101 total invoices/APPROVED Tickets totaling $39,028.35 was NEVER paid by Choice Home Warranty.
They also gave the same reasoning as all the others were given on this compliant board.
In this research it appears the majority of contractors billed the customer directly.
How have you all resolved this? Any words of advice will be helpful.
Thank you,
