Furnace broke. Called Choice, sent their preferred tech 3 days later. Was told part is backordered. Was without heat for days in the Northeast and it's cold so I asked Choice if I can get my own HVAC and they ok'd it. My tech came immediately. Diagnosed problem, had the part in stock. Called Choice and they said I needed to cancel their preferred tech and I did, and they sent a reimbursement form. During the time that the tech went to pick up the part, i was on the phone with Choice and they kept talking about surges and that was what broke the gas valve in furnace so I wrote that in my paperwork that they required for approval. They came right back to me and denied my claim. I told them I didn't have any surges, all appliances were working in my house and I assured them that my tech said it was normal wear and tear. I have the old parts to send in to Choice for benchmarking so they can confirm it was wear and tear. They also said that since I didn't wait for their approval to do the job (which I had to do anyway because my house was freezing being without heat now for 5 days).. they were not reimbursing me. Choice Warrangy is an absolute SCAM. Too bad I didn't read all of the review on what people said about Choice and they were scammed too.
