We purchased our home 2.5 years ago with this warranty company as the company of choice.
We reported that our Oven was not functioning properly. It was not heating properly. It is a Fisher Paykel, 6 burner double oven model which few technicians will even work on. Choice homes failed twice with a "tech" they were deploying to our home. We found our own technician.
The Technician reported back that the igniter was out in one and a sensor out in another AND that the main door was not closing and sealing properly.
We had no idea about the oven door. This was part of the diagnostics. It is allowing heat to also escape.
We have been denied the replacement of the door and hinges as we did not report it with the initial claim.
How are we to know that it was not closing properly? The technician found the issue!
We are not being told that we have to file another claim, which the game will now be, let them find another incompetent technician, delay the process and take another $65 service fee from us.
Claimed loss: $936.04 - they are willing to pay $439.19
Desired outcome: To allow the door as part of the claim, not subject us to the game of all the unqualified technicians and to allow our current technician to replace the door. Pay the additional $496.85 on the claim.
