Employee Share Plan handled by Computershare
I requested a detailed receipt on Feb 14, 2024 for a transaction where I requested ta transfer shares from my Employees Share Plan Account to my brokerage (Questrade) on 11 Feb 2024. I paid $84.75 for the transaction and all I received from Cybersource was a receipt that I had made a payment. Nothing regarding the detail of the transaction from Computershare.
There was no detail as to what the payment was for on the receipt from Cybersource whom they obviously use to collect payments. On calling Computershare, they informed me they could mail me a statement for $75. There was nothing else they could provide. Seems like they have a good scam going where they provide no information and ask that you pay to for it when requested. There's nothing much anyone can do as the employer uses Computershare services.
Desired outcome: I would like the company to provide a detailed receipt of the transaction.

I sold some shares and asked if the funds could be sent via wire transfer. She said yes and that it would take 3-5 days. After that period, another person said that it could take up to 10 days and that she would put an "exclamation mark" next to the order to mark it as urgent and expedite the procedure; that was last week. Now, the guy told me that it would...

Computershare is a big scam I have sent them two cheches total just under 5 hunderd dollars, that have been cashed, they said they had not recieved. Which I still have copys on my phone, having been cleard through my bank. Over a year and a half ago. And now they send me a check for part the money I sent them,
The only problem is the check they sent to me has not just my name but my deceased father-in-law of six years. Which i'm not able to depost, a great way for them to steel peoples money, I wish I had never got involved with there companey. I do not under stand how they are able to keep stealing peoples money, and stocks.
Desired outcome: quit ripping people off.
All they do is rip you off
You are not the only one in this as i was also a victim of there scam. i was only lucky enough to be able to get my funds back with the assisstance of W ww . Glowbancircuit . tecH

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

It is important to thoroughly research the company and its offerings before making any purchases to avoid any potential risks.
Investor center
I had the misfortune of dealing with Computershare, and I have to say it was one of the worst customer experiences I've had. Their administrative processes are outdated and inefficient, causing unnecessary delays and frustration.
Every time I had to contact their customer service, I was met with unhelpful and unprofessional representatives who seemed more interested in deflecting blame than solving my problems. Their communication was unclear and often contradictory, leaving me more confused than when I started.
To make matters worse, Computershare's fees are exorbitant compared to other companies in the industry, and their platform is clunky and unintuitive. I can't understand how they are still in business when there are much better alternatives out there.
Save yourself the headache and avoid Computershare at all costs. Your time and money are better spent elsewhere.

Cannot complete a decedent transfer of stock
My dad passed away in 2014. He had a Computershare account that has a small amount (less than $10k) of Metlife stock in it. I am trying to help my mom transfer it over to her account. Each time I submit the forms to do this for her, she receives a letter back saying that they need more info. The first time they said they needed a $50 check. So we gave them a $50 check (which they cashed). But then they said they needed a copy of the will with a medallion STAMP on it. So I called around several banks and finally found one that did medallion STAMPs. So we sent that over to them. They responded back saying that they need a certified copy of the will. And when I send that to them, they will reply back that they need something else. Each of these things costs money. It is total [censored]. All of this fuss over less than $10k in stock which is just needs to be transferred from one Computershare account to another Computershare account. Completely ridiculous.
Desired outcome: Stock from my deceased father's account transferred to my mother.

Hello,
I work remote and computer broke so they encourage me to get a new one from their offt4 miles away. I fell from the snow and ice. I dislocated my elbow and twisted my ankle and broke my eyeglasses on 11-17-2022.
They gave me malfunction computer and I had ask for another one and nothing happened since day [protected]) finally the computer did not boot up and spent over 2 hours with Kenny Olsen, the tech guy without success. I resigned that day because they did not provide the tools and resources for me to use during online webex training. on 11-15-2022 I got Covid and really sick so when I resigned on 11-17-2022 I told them I am going to Cabo as an excuse so that I wouldn’t jeopardize anyone’s lives with my Covid. All this happened after I resigned 4 hours into that training day. The mid level manager, Shannon lied to me and was urgently taking me out of all company related computer sites and email. She told me she will put me into the next training class on 1-3-2022. Well another lie confirmed by Courtney the recruiter. I am suffering through this physical pain that no one in the COMPUTER SHARE company. I had to do my work and never took time for lunches, also working in the middle of the night to do work related learning. it has been 12 days now and I still have not received my final paycheck. They denied me access to HR to access my time worked. I used the company email to ask for it from Angie Lisa, the facilitator. They discriminated again me because of my disability and did not follow the Colorado law regarding Covid and compensation. all of this stem from the company’s computer to participate in the virtual training class. I have one more “smoking gun” card that I will use if this company does not remedy me for time and wages loss. Everything has been recorded for evidence both virtually, by text, and also with a recording product. My family and I are so scared of them being two-faced. This egregious resting [censored] face of theirs is concerning. We don’t want retaliation from and physical and emotional pain from them and are very scared of them hurting us. I have all email correspondence as well internally and externally.

ComputerShare of re-issue fee/charge for dividend which has never been issued
Dear Sirs/Madams
I’m writing to you to complain about ComputerShare’s fee/charge. Please note that I’ve already complained to ComputerShare, SSM and ASIC. As per ASIC advice, I can also make a complain to my broker (CommSec).
The complaint is about the $25 charged by ComputerShare as per following facts.
1. On 8 November 2022, I realised the $300 dividend paid by SSM has not been distributed to my bank account on 5 October 2022.
2. I called ComputerShare on 8 November 2022, they advised me that they had to charge $25 “re-issue” fee for my $300 dividend. I objected the fee on the phone and requested the operator to get her supervisor to call me so I can escalate this into a complaint. I specified to the operator that I do not accept the deduction of $25 because it’s unfair. The dividend has never been issued to me so ComputerShare can’t charge me for a “re-issue” fee/charge of $25. No one responded.
3. The reason for the $25 fee is that ComputerShare default practice is to pay dividend by cheque and shareholders have to register bank details for EFT for all new shares. ComputerShare doesn’t issue cheque for SSM dividend. I entered my bank details for SSM and hoped that ComputerShare would distributed my dividend without the fee/charge.
4. ComputerShare’s excuse for not having default bank details for shareholders are:
a. Technical;
b. Legal
5. I advised ComputerShare that their competitors Automic and Link Market Serivces are having default bank details for dividend distributions so there shouldn’t be any technical or legal reason for them. No response.
6. On 11 November 2022, I realised that $275 was deposited to my bank account. This is ridiculous and it’s theft because I expressedly told ComputerShare that they don’t have my permission to deduct the $25 fee/charge because I disagree with them. I also advised them that I’m escalating it to ASIC and SSM as a complaint.
7. ComputerShare stole $25 from my dividend.
8. In the meantime, I received response from SSM who told me about their technical and legal reasons and I advised their investor relations that these are excuses because Automic and Link Market Services are doing it.
9. On 21 November, I received a letter from ComputerShare saying that they now waive the $25 and it may take up to 4 weeks to reach my account.
10. After stealing $25 from me, ComputerShare still doesn’t respond. I’ve asked SSM to forward my request to settle this theft by getting ComputerShare to donate $300 to a public charity as an apology for their theft and terrible service. No response from SSM or ComputerShare.
11. SSM is responsible in this case because they selected ComputerShare as the registry. I’m not sure if they’ve forwarded my message to ComputerShare because I can’t send it to ComputerShare (except by a webmail which may not be attended and I don’t want to repeat the entire history over the phone. I think their phone is useless anyway because no one has responded when they said they would.
Desired outcome: ComputerShare to donate $300 to a public charity to be nominated by me. This should escalate this complaint to a higher level so their management can listen to their customers' shareholders.
Not receiving check when stocks were sold
On October 31, 2022 I sold $54,000 worth of shares and the investor hub on Computershare.com, several agents I spoke to, and the automated message on the phone when you give all of your information said my check was in the mail.
For one, I never wanted them to send me a check, why couldn’t they do an ACH transfer? I have had my bank account connected to Computershare for almost two years. I buy $3000 worth of stocks every month via this avenue. Yet when I sell these same shares that I bought with ACH transfers they say they can only send me a check because I didn’t sign up a bank account with them for that account. This makes no sense, my bank account is connected to that account and has been for years. They also send this check for $55,000 via regular postal mail without any kind of tracking. That is absurd in this day and age of fraud.
After not receiving my check I called them and an agent said there was a hold on my account. They wanted me to send them an identification, utility bill, and two months of statements from my bank account. They told me if I didn’t send it there might be problems with my check which they have repeatedly told me was already in the mail.
They never mentioned these problems to my via a message, text, or a phone call. On the investor center on their website I had no messages from them saying there was a “problem” with my account. I only found out because I called them.
Anyway, after talking to several managers this week one of them admitted to me on November 9, 2022 that my check was never mailed at. So Computershare has been lying to me for over a week that my check had been mailed when it has not been. They have been holding my $55,000 hostage when I need ti use it for other things.
I sent them the information they wanted yesterday and never received a confirmation email or a reply saying everything was okay now even though the email was sent to a person by name in their “Back” who handles these things.
On November 10, 2022 I talked to a representative and they said my check will be mailed tomorrow. The $55,000 check will be sent via regular mail without any type of confirmation or tracking. That is absurd!
I will never invest again via Compershare, they hold your money hostage and if a certain stock did squeeze, you would never get your millions from them.
Desired outcome: I want my $55,000 that they are holding hostage.
So did you finally get your money from Computershare?
Uncashed dividend checks
I mailed the separate California declaration for transfer of uncashed dividend checks to Computershare. I then contacted customer advisory service and spoke to the supervisor - and was told the dividend checks would be mailed out the next week. When the checks were not received, I called customer service and was informed that no California declarations were in the file, no notation of the receipt and telephone discussion and now a new filing will be required and the form for transfer of the uncashed dividend checks will now require the new declarations as well as their form with a medallion signature to reissue the dividend checks - "since the account requires a transfer" All of the securities had been transferred to Schwab several months earlier.
Desired outcome: Immediate reissue checks to the new owner
Not receiving statements (monthly)
I purchased stock with an ACH transfer and the account is acceptable and it completes several transactions a year, this being one of them.
1) Amazon
2) Caterpillar (unable to get)
Desired outcome: Account C0002494728 Gonzalez, E.No shares want to be sold. I want to hold on to it, but need 1 more statement. Caterpillar will be held as well. Account is acceptable used.
They sold my shares without my knowledge!
Computershare sold 272 of my shares with Philips at $31 a share, half of what I paid for them, without my authorization. They claimed that I signed a policy at Philips when I signed up to buy shares 7 years ago that if I leave Philips that I would need to find a broker for my shares within 6 months. Regardless of any policy, Philips does not have the legal authorization to give to any entity direction to sell my shares that I bought with my money without my knowledge. All Computershare had to do was reach out to me before hand to let me know that I needed to get a broker and they could not even do that. For such a large company their lack of integrity and compassion are unethical and illegal. If anyone knows if this was illegal and the precedence for it please let me know. Thanks.
Desired outcome: I want my shares back.
This is an issue that needed attended personally by those in higher management cause selling share without owner aknowledge is fraud and scam and who did the approving is another fault and this will show how weak is management staff at share department is.1will lead to another and if this keep goes on no one will have trust issue on any buying and keep safe in any share department.Get the the person who approve this share claim without the right owner KYC and all etc detail.

Can’t get an answer, or either a name to talk with
My parents mis-placed a paper ATT stock certificate. I’m trying to get it re-issued. My father has died and I’ve been appointed legal guardian of my mother. ComputerShare said the legal guardian court document has to be dated within 60 days of my request to re-issue the stock. That’s not possible; the court order was July 2021, and we just learned of the missing stock certificate. I’ve talked with 3 reps, sent 2 e mails and haven’t heard back. They won’t provide someone to talk with.
Desired outcome: Talk with someone who can understand the timing problem and offer a solution.
Account access
Feb. 25, 2022. I have been locked out of my account. This is a paternalistic company with absurd and egregious policies. Went to use my account online only to have a page come up stating "I was not eligible to use online access". I have been using it for 6 months after the passing of my husband. In fact, I contacted them immediately upon his death to be told "no problem, you are a trustee and the stocks are held in a Revocable Family Trust, so you are good to go." So, I proceeded to use the account, check on updates, change mailing address, bank account information and the security questions (just to be safe). Now "big daddy" says I can't access my account? Ridiculous. A Friend today told me she moved all her shares out of this company. I will be looking to do the same. Up until now, I had been satisfied with their website, access and service. Not now! All I wanted was to keep my access to my account which should be my right! Warning, stay away from ComputerShare.
Desired outcome: Full access restored to my online account without absurd hoops to jump through. You need a death certificate? fine. But I should not have to set up all new accounts. I am the owner, and clearly listed as the owner.
I agree, Computershare is awful. But what do you mean "paternalistic". Please keep woke out of it. I know it's trendy but why do it?
Online individual investor account
ComputerShare repeatedly locks me out of my account.
Desired outcome: Let me have access to my account because I used the correct password and security question answers.
Broker agent

Account #2429 [protected]@rocketmail.com
Desired outcome: The difference of almost $300 in fractual shares
Check re-issue
It seems like a relatively easy thing to re-issue a check to the dependents of a person who has passed.
I've been working with both my mother's Brighthouse Financial stocks and Metlife Inc stocks - actually just a re-issue of stocks sold.
This process started in July/August and is still going on.
Because the W9 requests and response didn't seem to get the job done, I sent in the actual court documents from her small estate. Your company then proceeded to continue asking for documents that are not significant.
And, what is the deal with only doing correspondence by postal mail - get into this century. Get a secure portal or something.
9/1/2021-now
Just re-issue the checks
It isn't much money and she wanted it to go to her grand children. Christmas is blown but we still want the money.
If I need to get an estate lawyer (which I probably should have done from the beginning), I will.
Desired outcome: Re-issue the checks for stocks already sold
Delay in sending proceeds of selling my shares and the check never arriving
I sold my shares on the 20th October, the check was lost in the post. I reported on the 20th November that it had not arrived. The consultant said that she would cancel the check and send the payment via wire transfer. it would take 10 days.
No money arrived by the 3rd December. I rang computer share again they said that they were waiting for the bank to confirm that that the check was not cashed.
I requested to speak to a supervisor and was told that this would take 2 business days, this was unacceptable, I finally after waiting on the phone or over an hour spoke to a supervisor. Who said that they had to wait for the bank to confirm that the cheque was not cashed.
I did get a message with an update on Monday 6th stating that the money will be wired and will be in my account on the 9th December. It has not arrived. When I called in today they said that a wire transfer takes 10 days.
I do not understand the American / Canadian banking system however Wire transfers take between 1-5 days internationally. have just been told that they are waiting on the bank to confirm that my information is correct, this is information that I gave them on the 20th November.
In my opinion this is no way to treat a share holder.
All the time that My money is going round in the ether and making someone else money.
I was utterly disappointed with the service from computer Share. while I appreciate that this may be a one off this is unacceptable for a financial organisation to have such cumbersome processes.
Desired outcome: Receive the money owing today, and compensation for their inefficiency
Payments not received a/c: c1025294684
Dear Sir,
I have closed my account on 28th October and was promised the funds between 10 business days, and now it has been more than one month. Herewith I attached a copy of the letter I received. I also phoned and spoke to about 10 operators and one supervisor name Lorenzo Alexander at your office at [protected], and they all promised me the same promise and, I never received any valuable response to my problem.
As I have investment arrangements to buy a property and due to your delay I am losing money, maybe I have to pay damages to the seller if I did not do the agreed purchase in time.
I expect this matter to be resolved as soon as possible and arrangements to be made for the transfer of my funds promptly.
Kind Regards
ShymaNanayakkara
