Copart Received a non running car (engines, gone and doesn't crank right), even though described as run and drive

I only buy cars from Copart as running and driving

in the odd instance the car has arrived a non starter, but with some attention (such as a new battery) the car runs and drives - Never complained about this

But this time, especially recently. After hearing of other traders voice very similar concerns (cars not as described) along with price rises

Many feel Copart as a business is slowly losing its once good reputation

I recently just bought a car, it was described as running and driving. Even after having a mechanic on it, whom confirmed the engine will not turn as its gone

After trying to contact the branch (very unprofessional manager) thinks ignoring the issue will solve itself, I find myself now seeking legal advice and seeking help from the Ombudsman

BE WARNED, I had fears of making a purchase like this, you'd think with their member protection pledge, that it would pessimistic to assume,

RUBBISH - was good once upon a time, but now you need to rebuild every other car from what I'm hearing and seeing

Copart Account activation

I'm angry to the max for the incompetence of your company I created a account 2 days ago and is still not active hence I lost all the vehicles I had on watch I called 9am in the morning to be told that they will email the admin team to activate it and it should be done by 1am, I called back at 11:15 just to be told that thye will email again and it should be ok in 30 mns or to call back, I called back at 12:15pm to be told that there is nothing they can do about it as is up to the admin team so I had no chance to use the account that I paid for today... And who knows for how much longer, a disgrace, no point on giving a term time to the people when you are not capable to respect it.

Copart Car does not drive: gear gone

This car was picked up on the 21st of August and was delivered to me at about 2 hours later the same day.
The car was not tested as we had a lot to do before the weekend until the 29th which was the long bank holiday weekend, when the car was started..it did starts but did not drive as advertised.
earlier on today i spoke with your customer advisor and claimed that the car was tested at your yard but suddenly does not drive again.
who are these expert who tested this car,
i surprised that if this is how you deceived all customers there will a lot of complain going to the ombudsman and people need to exercise their consumers right to the fullest.
we changed gear and nothing happens.
we were misled to believe that this car do start and drives but unfortunately it does not drive at all.
we would request this car be arranged to be returned to you and our full payment (£1604;80) be refunded as well as the cost of the recovery truck (£210).
we have also registered the car for tax for it to be legally stayed on the parking space (£240)
the total amount to be credited back is £2054.80.

i will be expecting your response, at the same time i will be contacting my bank to make a complain as well as sending a notification to the motor ombudsman.
please let us know what you want to do.

Copart vauxhall meriva - lot no. [protected].

After my offer was accepted on this (minimum bid auction) the car arrived yesterday, no paperwork to sign, car dumped outside the house, still running, driver rattled on letterbox and disappeared back to his truck and shot off (no call to say en route either!). More damage on the car than photographed, and has a failed power steering motor making the car unroadworthy. This
Was not mentioned or displayed in the listing. The car owes me £776 all in, I contacted the branch (peterlee) was told any damage and issues should be reported to the driver - who had already gone by the point I noticed the issues. Utter scumbags. Also happened to me with a mercedes clk and a skoda octavia. I've had enough, lost thousands owing to these lot (and I suppose my own stupidity).

The Copart Transporter App don't work correctly, send me completely wrong informations about collection date and address. The Copart UK staff are NOT support the customers as well. See attachments .

Copart Membership

Hi hoping someone can help i recently joined Copart and i paid £60 for the membership. They did not open my account as someone previously living in my new property had an account and owed them money.

i advised i have never had an account and have no relation with the previous person and moved to this property less than two years ago.

They still said they cant open my account so i asked for my money back as this is a service i paid for and they are still not returning my money.

i know its only £60 but its about principal i paid for service i am not getting they should give me my membership as stated i dont know who opened account with them or give me my money back.

Copart 468252

My name is Jonathan E. Ramirez, owner of Sol y Mar Auto Sales, I applied to become a member of copart and was granted buyer # 438252 and with much back and forth between phone calls and paperwork I was approved on 06/09/2020 and later suspended on the same day, due to me knowing someone who has a past due balance with your company which has nothing to do with me nor my company. I used a card that was associated with that person which I shouldn't have used I made that mistake because my card was not going thru. on 06/10/2020 I received an email from the AR department stating that "my account should had never been activated due to being linked to another account also stating that if I want to buy from copart i need to settle this account". Sol y Mar Auto Sales is not affiliated with any other business nor Sol Y Mar Auto Sales has any affiliates. I am not responsible for that account. I have tried to speak to Ms Vivian with no prevail. I feel I am being targeted and forced to pay for someone else's responsibilities. Please also note that the AR department is very rude and unprofessional, I am not part of that company this is why I have my own. By law I should not be held responsible for others actions. Furthermore one of your employees accused me of committing fraud which I have not committed. The application for copart does not state that if a member has any relations to another member shall not be allowed to bid, this is clearly a policy created by an employee and not disclosed to the buyer nor it's written anywhere in your policy. I believe that my company is being targeted illegally and being forced to pay for another account, this is clearly discrimination against a minority business and racially profiled by an employee(s) by denying me access to purchase being a minority owned business. also a statement of me doing fraud with no facts that is a serious allegation. I am a separate business with no partners or investors.

I ask that my account be activated and that I shall not be punished nor refrain from doing business with copart.

Copart Wrong description

I bought a car that was advertised run and drive but instead I received a car without key and even when I call out a guy to make a copy key still didn't start without replacing the ecu.
And the worst thing car was left at different address and I found it there by mistake.
So I spent £250 to make it run and drive and I want my money back. To prove what I spent I attached a picture with invoice.

Copart Work conditions

It's a place void of all leadership and respect. Management is a revolving door of ppl who don't care about customers or staff. As a former and happy to be gone loader, if you have to do business here at this location pls understand that if your car is lost it's probably in Macon or somewhere else management sent it. Yard is trash like management. So next time your there and your having a bad experience just remember there is a member of management doing absolutely nothing close by. Check your car thoroughly as well. Extra damage to cars is unavoidable because of how bad they keep the yard and loaders. Bent forks and constant pot holes and A messed up ground that causes cars to flip off forks. The Gm has a wonderful way of supporting ppl who he knows are bad for business. Only time they value an employee is when their job is in danger. Regardless watch yourself dealing with this location. To all the actual ppl there that do care please be patient with them . Their working against a lot of stupidity . Cars disappear without a trace 🤔 smh . Ownership And accountability is a word they like to use but rarely live by. Appts don't matter just ask Eddie G . I've never seen so much nepotism. Ppl aren't promoted off merit, it's more about who you know. Broken seatbelts in loaders never get fixed either. Regardless of loader sheets. In the middle of this essential covid-19 pandemic they decided to move me to a new loader that was filthy disgusting and full of unsafe materials after I told them my fears of contracting this virus . I have attached pics of the loader they put me in . The Gm told me it's their equipment and that they can put whoever in whatever at anytime . Now mind you I was operating a different loader . That I kept clean and forks straight. They might wanna get their corona virus task force ready, which we heard nothing about until late in the game .

Copart Stole my fully paid for vehicles

I see Copart UK Ltd legal department have being very busy lately closing down reviews they do not like for so called defamatory comments . So as much as I would like to say it as it is I will try to limit my comments to less descriptive emotional terms .
My experience with Copart Uk Ltd has being abysmal, they take your money including very high fees for bidding, commission, loading and storage charges which I accept if they where a reputable customer orientated based company . In my experience they have treated me with utter contempt. After winning bids on cars and paying promptly that is where the breakdown in client responsibility is.

Living in a EU but non UK location I was successful in winning 2 bids promptly paid and organised car transport to EU county as Copart UK Ltd do not deliver outside UK mainland. My nominated car transport company arrived to collect and where refused loading due to Covid-19 restrictions. Fair enough I said, so the car transporter asked to have the cars left at road adjacent (outside)entrance no contact with Copart Uk Ltd employees this was also refused. Copart UK Ltd do not deliver to EU and Copart UK Ltd do not allow non UK clients to collect or organise collection " catch 22 ". Also now being charged £12 and £6 storage a day for both cars with no possibility of removal . If Copart UK Ltd cannot allow EU clients organise collection for export they should not allow any bids for non resident EU clients . In my opinion I could be forgiven in thinking that Copart UK Ltd are exploiting the current situation . I have contacted Copart UK Ltd with numerous email requests to resolve and have had no response so far. I have suggested waving storage fees and will collect when restrictions lifted, I have suggested cancelling won bids and crediting my account, or a total refund. Still no response
This leaves me with no option but to seek European Consumer Centre help in resolving this problem
After reading most other reviews on Copart Uk Ltd you could not help but think that this company may be involved in exploiting clients. This is just my opinion I could be wrong and my worst fears be for nothing. Not holding my breath

Copart Delivery, export, storage fees and angled photos

" Warning " do not buy from Copart
Please guys be aware this company, Copart Uk are ripoff fraudsters and gangsters, They are taking advantage of Covid lock down by ripping members off on delivery only purchases, no prior viewing, deceive members with bad angled photos of cars to disguise extent of damage, premium phone lines when you make a call, allow you to bid on cars knowing they are preventing collection of cars for export when there is no delivery outside Uk then charge you storage charges because you cannot collect even after sending a car transport company from abroad. Looking for full refund now. I will now exercise my rights under EU internet consumer law and seek a full refund under the 14day internet purchase rules
DO NO BUY from Copart learn from my mistake

Copart I am complaining about re-listed fees

I won 3 cars and I called the customer service to arrange the delivery. I was given £160 per car and I agreed and when I tried to pay the amount was changed after 3 hours to £250 then I called the customer service back and they told me the quote was very cheap that is not the price.in fact, the will charge me more if I called back again, it was a threat. And one of the cars that I bought for £375 I have to pay £1017. Then I emailed the customer service 2 twice didn't receive any replies. All of a sudden they sent me an email that the vehicles has been re-listed and I have to pay £720, £250 each for re-listing in order to bid.in the meantime my account is been inactivated.

Copart Your staff deflect all attempts to speak to line managers

I am in the UK but have aimed this at the US as any and all complaints in the UK are pointless, your staff deflect all attempts to speak to line managers, branch managers or area managers so my question is... why have them if they are not there to deal with issues and problems that the front line staff cannot deal with?
I was under the illusion that America were global leaders in the customer service industry yet the staff that represent your business in the UK are little more than useless! I have ran multi million pound businesses and can not for the life of me understand how such a customer orientated company can allow the UK side of the business to be run so poorly?
A well run company can only prosper even in times such as these, a badly run company with staff who don't care and managers who avoid confrontation is only going one way and I am pretty sure this direction not in the boards business plan.

Copart I have a sold a van and still waiting payment nearly a month later

Hi to who it may concern,

I have recently sold a vehicle volkswagen transporter t5
Registration-GJ07HKD

I spoke to a man named Andrew who works for your company and was told a cheque was issued and sent via royal mail 2nd class delivery on the 10th March 2020
I was then told if not here by the next day To call back which I did but spoke To another lady whom was rude and told me the only thing I can do is e-mail
I've sold car previous and been paid to the bank account I have down on file
This has caused me alot of stress and has cost me to call your business
I hope this issue can be dealt with

I had won a car on the live auction in Wolverhampton lane A/1128
Invoice number -[protected]
I had brought the fiat 500 Based upon it being manual transmission and copart lists that it was manual and I called and spoke to a lady which said it was hip checked and confirmed it was manual
I then looked back on photos and saw that the photos zoomed in on the transmission is auto

I then contacted copart and A lady named Ann spoke to me and told me its co parts error and to e-mail and they will sort it out but now I cannot bid on any items Due to a charge on the account

Copart Hi i'm complaining about copart springfield mo mistake with our company

Buyer num 260647 I bought a car from Copart mo and tow it all the way to ri to find out they gave my driver another car.there guy the gate didn't allow the driver to get the car he gave him the gate pass that's has all info and he went and bring a car on the forklift.so they did the mistake and now they suspended my account imagine cause they want to me bring the car back without bringing my car to me. I told them send me car and take ur car I just want my car. I already paid 650$ to tow the car to my house. They don't want to be responsible for there mistakes and they also suspended my account I buy from you guys like more than 20 cars a month.i don't use any other auctions like you.

Copart Car salvage collection

My name is Michael Jones, my address is 6, Berwedd-Dy cottages, Pontypridd, R.C.T. My car reg. is CK63 YTH . My complaint is of the Bristol depot.
Following my car being deemed a write-off by Aviva, due to a flood on 16/02/20, I eventually received a valution from a visit to my address by an engineer early on Monday 02/03/20. The engineer later telephoned me that day and we agreed a valuation, which was E-Mailed to me and to which I replied.
I rang Copart that day and it was agreed that my vehicle would be collected the following day, 03/03/20. This did not happen and I received no communication of any kind as to why, so I rang Copart and received the "No representatives available, please leave a message" spiel and left 2 messages, to which I received no reply. I was going out Wednesday afternoon 04/03/20 and left another message to comunicate this but again no reply. I managed to speak to someone at Copart on Thursday morning, 05/03/20 and they were amazed that my vehicle hadn't been collected on 03/03/20, as they had outsourced the collection ( But had obviously not followed up on the possible collection and communicated anything to me) and had been told later that my vehicle hadn't been collected as their vehicle was too big to gain access, this despite my having made it clear several times that they would need a short wheel based vehicle to gain access (Several large refuse collection vehicles visit my address every week.) We agreed that my vehicle would be collected on that afternoon 05/03/20. Once again nothing happened and once again I left messages to no avail. I next rang very early this morning 06/03/20 and informed the lady ( Who unprofessionally called me darlin') that I would be making a written complaint to head office if my vehicle wasn't collected before 12.00 this morning, as my wife had a hospital appointment this aftefnoon. I have heard nothing since, hence this written complaint.
I must say that I am amazed by the staggering incompetence, rudeness and lack of communication shown by Copart in this matter, though I am less surprised when reading reviews posted by others.
I am busy tomorrow and I suppose it is too much to ask that my vehicle is collected on Sunday, although I think that in the circumstances an exception should be made, especially as I am away all next week. I also thinh some recompense is due following protracted telephone calls and stress caused.

Copart Staff

Staff are rude
Unprofessional and un helpfull
Training is poor
Management have no clue how to run the sites they are in charge of
And also copart hide behind their ever changing terms and conditions which seems to be their answer to all the complaints made against them
Reading all the reviews online about this company I can't believe they don't have a massive shake up as there not one good review online about them
Probably the worst company operating in the uk at present
They should be ashamed of themselves

Copart Does not let me check out a vehicle that I want to buy

so I started off by driving 180 miles to copart in North Charleston south carolina, when I came there at 8:00 and told them I want to check out a vehicle that I want to bid on, and so they asked me for my members number and I gave my members number but they rejected like it wasn't so I was like its alright I can just make another one, so I did and and they asked me for the members number for the new account and I gave them and they also rejected them, I told them how can I get my members number, and they would not give a clear explanation on how to get my members number, and so I called member services and I was on hold for about an hour, and as said on the first complaint copart has really slow service, finally when I hot in touch with one of the workers, I told them how can I get my members account number with the new account I made, she told it takes about 3 business, and so I told here then how did my old accounts number didn't work she told me what copart was this what location, I told here can I put you on hold and she said yes and about ten seconds later she declined, seriously copart what kind of service is this.

Copart Sold wrong vehicle / wrong advertisement

On 10/10/2019, we purchased a vehicle from Copart as follows:

Lot #: [protected]
Yr/Make/Model: 2003 Ford E450 RV
Vin: 1FDXE4S92HB69743
Color: White
SalYard: 11 TX-HOUSTON

This is the vehicle that was advertised and listed and have trying to resolve a major issue in regards to the purchased and fees for the above mentioned lot number/vehicle.

We believed we were purchasing a 2003 Ford Econoline E450 Super Duty Cutaway Van with RV attached, which there is nothing online or on the paperwork that even mentions the year, make and model of the RV portion of the vehicle.

When researched online through the NHTSA VIN DECODER, AUTOCHECK REPORT and several other websites, they all state that in fact this vehicle is a 2002 Ford E450 Incomplete Vehicle Cutaway or 2002 Ford Econoline E450 Superduty with a 2003 conversion and the title says is it's a 2003 Gulf Motor Home not a 2003 Ford Econoline E450 Super Duty Cutaway van as specified when we bid on it.

We have sent emails and made phone calls to Copart and after numerous attempts we finally got in touch with Mr. Jesse Perez, General Manager of Houston Copart and was asked to email him our issue with our purchase.

Since then we have yet to have received any effort of any response from Mr. Perez. We have tried follow up emails and phone calls and completely get the run around and transferred to other cities of Copart Locations and get told that Mr. Perez is in the office but is too busy to take our phone call and then we are directed to contact the Customer Service department which they cannot make any final decisions on such issues.

I have attached several documents backing up our efforts of contact and resolution to such matter and also have attached proof of all issues from previous complaints and bad reviews on this establishment and how they scam and do not provide true and correct information on their vehicles.

Attached are documents supporting information for our complaint and issues and we are asking Copart to take back their vehicle and reimburse back all monies, including fees, late fees, storage fees, internet bid fees, buyer fees, gate fees, and any and all additional fees added to such purchase and keep our business on good terms.
