Monthly subscription
Hello, I signed up for a membership on July 6th 2018, and I was charged the ENTIRE $119 for the year. From the website I was under the impressions that I would be charged $9.95 per month, eventually totally the $119. My summer course is only one month long, and this is an outrageous price to pay. My textbooks do not cost this much. This was unethical and frankly just rude. I would like a refund please, or you will be reported to the better business burrow for false advertisement. On top of that I will be sure to share on social media, other students, and everyone else NOT to sign up for your subscription.

False advertising
I created an account and selected a monthly plan of 9.95. This site charged my card for a truly subscription and not a monthly one. They do not have a customer service number on the site and no 24hr support for the site. I want my money back asap. I canceled the account as soon as I saw the receipt. I am filing a complaint with the BBB. I didn't not want a yearly subscription to this site and if they are going to charge yearly it is better for them to advertise as such.

Unauthorized credit card charges
I am very angry signing p with them an hour ago and coming to find me I am not being charged what I was supposed to be charged which is $9.95 but I was charged $119 and I want my money back immediately and this website shut down for false advertising! I am a college student just looking to get study help and for a long time I passed over their websites because I was unsure about pay for the help but comes to find out my intuition was right and I should of never signed up with them because now I have to go through the headache of getting my money back. How dare they lie to me and play with my money they do not know what I am going through.

Unauthorized credit card charge
I purchased a 'one-time payment' month of access to this site in March, yet, just found out I was charged again last month on 4/21.
I did not have the amount they illegally charged me in my account, so I was also charged another $35 fee on top of their unauthorized charge.
I am expecting a full refund of their charge and the overdraft fee they caused ASAP and will seek legal action if not fulfilled.
This site should be taken down as this is obviously not their first time scamming people. I will not let this case die and I will not become silent.

In addition to these awful billing practices I was shocked to see - could it be true? that it appears to me from tutor complaints posted all over the internet that there may be a possibility the company may be using what could be argued is tantamount to "slave labor" (!?) Wouldn't that be true if they are telling tutors they will pay them and then close their accounts without giving them access to the income they believed they were earning? I think that is monstrous!

There are already no less than 92 complaints of similar practices by this company on the Better Business Bureau website. There are also a multitude of complaints on other general information complaint boards such as scam report, etc.
Refund my money
Cheat frauds I deactivated account long ago.[censor] again looted $80 from my account. I need my money back. serious action should be taken on them. if they never return back my money, I file complaints against them in CONSUMER COMPLAINTS. Though I tried to quit my activation, They aren't allowing me to do. this is insane. please take some quick action against these online frauds

Course hero
I subscribed to course hero for 12 months for $119.40 on Thursday 15 March 2018 1.15PM (Sydney/Melbourne time). When I checked my netbanking account today (to make sure that the payment went through correctly) I noticed that $151.55 had been withdrawn from my account by course hero. The confirmation email I was sent says that I paid $119.40, confirmation number : [protected]. I am not happy that $32.15 extra was withdrawn from my account without my permission. I would like it returned to my account and an apology is in order. Course hero has broken my trust, and it is very unsettling.

Question to tutor
3 days ago I asked a tutor a question about my essay and included the whole text of essay. My question was cancelled, but the content of my essay is remaining. Now I can't submit my essay to the University because it olagiarism programs show coursehero as a source of the essay. I requested to remove the question from the website, but so far no response from them and I have to submit my essay tomorrow. I don't even have time to rewrite the hole essay. It's not fair. Why do they need to keep all the questions even those that they didn't answer...
Random charges to my bank account
Here's what I just sent course hero...
I discontinued this service many months ago, maybe even over a year by now. When I discontinued this service I also wanted my account disabled or deleted. You guys refused to do that. Two different representatives of yours said no (btw, that has to be some sort of unethical business practice). So anyway, my services were stopped and I haven't been charged since. Now many months later your charging my account about a $120 (or I should say stealing from my account). Undo those charges.
Also, I tried calling you guys. I love your answering machine. It just plays a message over and over again, and doesn't even record people's voicemail . You're business is unethical.
Unpaid intellectual property

I had been working with you as a tutor for sometime before you suspended my account(bethvivy91) on grounds of gross misconduct. You didn't even pay me my pending amount before closing my account. They don't pay tutors who work hard for them and for students
I worked as a tutor on coursehero. Since my subjects are actually my passion, in a very short time I answered a lot many questions. All of a sudden one day a mail came saying I received violation. The reason they gave was totally a bu***it. Then my account was blocked.
The system here is, student pay and post the question. When I answer the question, I get just 35% of what student paid. And that also I get after 14 days.
So likewise for 14 days before my account got blocked I answered almost 150 questions for which I was about to get around $250. All that money they stole.
Whatever be the fu***ng reason for deactivation, at least they should pay whatever earned before that point.
This behaviour shows it's a totally bu***it, unprofessional company.

Better remove the charger you have in my card!
I don't even have an account anymore as the subscription should have been cancelled for so long . Now I suddenly see a charge from coursehero on my card?! No person to talk to for a proper customer service and it seems to me this have happened to a lot of people. This is a scam going on I guess for so long now as read on these thread of complaints for this website. I checked both my emails to see any ongoing subscription and it says there isn't any log in information associated with it. So explain these charge!
Thieves
I used to have an account with them while still in college. So as a group of online workers in our college decided to open e-mails that look almost alike because thats how we used to discuss some assignments. I remember my username was [protected]@yahoo.com. Course hero rude staff decided to close our accounts. So my worry was, what was the issue about using college cyber? They are thieves and inhuman. Good thing. They will pay for the hard earned money.
Let them remember that the guys they punished by closing down their account could spend sleepless nights trying to help their students.

Stealing money, false advertising, terrible customer service
I created my first account with course hero last month. I submitted 12 documents to get free unlocks and in a WEEK, all of my free unlocks were "expired". I called the customer service number, dealt with rude reps and just created a new account. I purchased what I thought was the $9.95/month pack, and ending up charged $167? Absolutely ridiculous!

No tutor payment
Coursehero have unnecessarily closed my account. With-out any proof/proper details for account closure. These guys are unable to provide any proof regarding account closure. They have un-necessarily closed my account and not paid for the services taken by me. Failure to provide any relevant details for account closure and payment stopment is unjustified and clearly implies the fraud done by coursehero. I have details for all pending transactions ids.
How can they not pay me when they have taken my services.

Bad service, rude reps!
I used Course Hero website and paid for my subscription. Everything was fine at the beginning, but later I had some issues with one of their reps. They did not want to resolve my issue and refused to provide any assistance, their rep was very rude to me and totally disrespectful!
Later they just closed my account (even though I paid for it!) and ignored all my messages! Terrible company which doesn't care about their own users! Will not recommend these clowns to anyone!
Tutor payment
This company is a scam. Over 500 dollars that I had earned as a tutor was taken away from me. They have closed my account with flimsy excuses that my account has been involved in fraud. Now they close my account with all my hard earned cash? Avoid course hero by all means

Everyone should stay away from this guile trash. I build my account for a year, and have earned some money (not transfer yet). Then they send me email said that I am violated without warning (actually I am not violated, the material I used I bought for my study) When I asked how I can transfer the money I earned before, they said that they will not give me anything. Especially, they block me to logging my account, but still use my account and my material to make money.

Unethical behavior
I am a new tutor at coursehero website. I have been answering basic questions at this place. My friends told me that this is not a good place to work anymore. Stil I decided to go ahead and experience these people. When I am writing a complaint, it is not just one individuals opinion but it has happened with many other tutors. My username is expert.solutions
1. Question ID 9502835 In this question ID they flagged my account for violation of requesting the student to post a question directly to me.
Here is what I said to the student in comments section "Should be posted in advanced question category or if you want specific help, post it directly to me."

Now first off, in the tutor guidlines, there is nothing mentioned about the issue and secondly, I took good care to understand and then I only told the student to post the question in advanced category since it involced a lot of work and was not fit for basic questions catergory. If I had not commented anything, then new students would not understand and they would have not got the help. as you can see, these both questions were not answered by the tutor. I was trying to help the student. I didnt give my profile link. I only wanted to help the student by telling them the option of advanced questions and direct tutor help.
These two questions violations was received by me on june 14. I was angry obviously but I knew I couldn't do anything. So I though, let's work only. Forget about helping students. Just get the question and only work on it without thinking anything else.
Now here is the third warning I recieved today.
Question ID 9503394 In this question ID coursehero claims that I recieved a violation because I asked the student to increase the price after already using the price suggestion tool.
Here is what I said to the student in comments section on june 13 (this date is when I was not aware, coursehero is giving violations for no good reasons):
comment 1: I can solve all of them but the price is too low here.
Comment 2: Should be posted in advanced question category because it is time consuming and long or if you want specific help, post it directly to me.
Comment 3 (by the student): how much are you after to complete the practice exam?
Next day I had got the violations for the above mentioned two Question IDs (Question ID 9502835, Question ID 9503482 on june 14)
after recieving this violations, as I already said, I only wanted to work. hence I said this in the comment to student
Comment 4: I can't tell you anything now because coursehero is giving me violations for literally anything. So I will keep quiet and work. Figure it out yourself or ask your moderator.
Today on june 17, I got the violation, that I was trying to ask the student to increase the price after alrwady using price suggestion tool. First off, there is no price suggestion tool in basic questions category. Secondly, I never mentioned a figure to the student. I wanted him to post it in advanced questions category where I could use price suggestion tool and then suggested my price.
I hope you understand all 3 violations well now. I feel there is no bad violation from my part. IT is very disheartening to see, what these people did. they put me on probation now. If you can't accept a tutor in human form. then you should hire robots. I think its high time that you stopped accepting new applications. further, as my friends told, these people will remove after probation and will keep all my earnings with them. maybe this is the way they are being profitable. Its sad really.
