Unauthorized credit card charged
Dear ComolaintBoard,
I was a member of Coursehero last year, and my membership ended in October this year, 2018. I did not want to renew my membership for 2019 because I graduate in a month, so I did not pay to renew it.
However, I did not know the card information is still in the account, and Coursehero automatically withdrew money from it without my consent. The unwanted charge happened today October 25th, 2018.
I haven't used any source from them since my membership ended this year, so I want a full refund for this unwanted renewal. I they would process a full refund so that I would not have to file a further complaint.

I thought the $9 will be billed monthly, but I was billed yearly.
I viewed one file but it isn't the correct document. It was not as described. I was looking to get an answer but it didn't have an answer despite showing an unlock to get answer.
I only viewed that, per some users who have experienced this, there is a "one time exception to policy" to get a refund. Please I beg of you I need that refund so bad. I didn't even get the answers I needed.

Not giving refund on time.
Coursehero just loves taking people's money that they keep sending the same email whenever you send them an email regarding a concern. I asked for a refund of $119 dollars and yet they cannot give me the full refund back just because there was an activity on my account. First of all, the information I unlocked was not useful at all, and this girl named Anna Sun, who knows if she's even real, she might be a robot who keeps sending the same email over and over said that she cannot give me the full refund, she can change it to one month plan, and give me a refund of 79.45, where is my refund, I am still getting the same email everytime I send them an email regarding my concern. If i knew coursehero would be like this, I would never give out my card infor to them. I need the refund as soon as possible for emergency issues, and yet it's been a whole day, and nothing has bee processed back into my account except taking my whole $119 dollars. PLEASE GIVE ME MY REFUND ASAP.

I signed into coursehero thinking that it would show me the answer to that problem. I then put in my card number thinking it would charge me only the $9 for the membership per month instead of the annual rate. I was upset that I had to pay for everything up front and did not receive any of the answers or help that I needed! I am extremely unsatisfied.
Deduction from my account automatically from credit card - please refund
Automatic deduction of 39.95 $ had been processed from my credit card. why this transaction had been processed without consent of my knowledge. I recently subscribed September 29, 2018. But I really want my money back. I don't know why I was charged $119 when I was just selecting the ~$9 monthly option. I'm broke okay! Even Chegg wasn't this bad. I swear, if I hadn't double-checked, I wouldn't have known about being charged for the year. I'm never using Course Hero again. And also a warning to everyone: carefully read everything. When Paypal showed $119, I thought it was just only showing how much money I had in my checking account (because I was thinking of only being charged ~$9 since you know... $119 is too much, like no way did it occur to me since I did have past experiences with Chegg). So I continued anyways. And I was wrong, wrong, wrong. Lesson learned. I'm so livid!
Also, I would like to add that the two documents that I unlocked were useless. I was hoping that the documents had extensive answers, but no. I could've just copied and pasted from the vSims itself, and that would've been a lot better than paying $119.

False advertisement
As a first year college student, looking for study notes this seem to be a good educational site. I had viewed a couple different notes, mind you though you're only allowed to see the partial page, there was a pop up saying I reach my 3 page maximum for the month and brought up the subscription package. It was said that I would pay $9.95/per month for this particular subscription and I was all down for that because I needed help with some notes. After submitting payment, I was charged $119.40! On top of the subscription package being very misleading, the information wasn't even helpful! The information is inaccurate to say the least, and I've submitted for a refund and still have not gotten a response. This is complete fraud, and I will be reaching out to my bank.
Also, after having this issue I started reading review after review by other students that had/has this same situation. Do you not think you should change the wording in your advertisement?

Subscription
I subscribed to this company. It was said that I would pay $9.95 usd per month. After I approved payment, I was charged $119.40 at one time on September 6th, 2018. I want a refund immediately and my subscription to be discontinued. I have not even used my account, and I cannot find anyone to talk to about this issue. I cannot even pay my rent on time this month because of this issue. $119.20 may not seem like a lot to most, but it is a lot when you are a college student trying to make ends meet. I was charged for something I did not pay for
They charged me for 119 dollars when I did not even buy the service seriously I was just trying the account to see if it was worth buying and all of a sudden I find that I have been charged. Seriously yal should be ashamed this is ridiculous. I will file a complaint to the better business bureau if this is not resolved imediately. I am very serious I mean business.

Course hero annual subscription scam
I noticed an unauthorized charge, disputed it with Paypal within 3 days. Paypal rejected the dispute, passed money to Course Hero, Course Hero locked me out of the account because of the dispute and out of spite even though they received the money.
Course Hero said the best they could do was promise not to charge again next year. But that for this year I am out $119.40 with no access to the coursehero.com website. Because I disputed the account.
Course Hero is not effective as a study guide and their financial and customer support policies are deplorable. Stay away, far away, do not give them your credit card or paypal information. They are a scam.

I purchased for the whole year it said 9.99 a month it did not say it was gonna charge me 119 alll together. I unlocked a page but its all blurry and I didnt use it. Can I get my whole refund. I sent u a picture of how it looked. I emailed them regarding if and they said they cant do a refund. As you can see the words u cant see them. How could I use that for homework.
False advertisement
Your advertisement for $9.60 a month during the initial sign up is extremely misleading. Also on the billing section of FAQ refunds, you guys put that "cancel subscription to avoid next MONTH's charge." That indicates that you guys charge monthly. Also, after unlocking a document, it was very inaccurate. Definitely not what I was looking for. I would like a refund please and for my account to be deleted afterwards or I will file a dispute with my bank. I'm very disappointed in your practices. I'm in the military where we are able to "blacklist" a company for fraud... If this does not resolved.. I will be forced to report the company so no one in the military will be allowed to use it.

Yesterday I subscribe to this company. It was said that I will pay $9.95 usd per month. After approve payment I was charge $119. I want my money back and want them to charge me as it was said $9.95 per month. This is ridiculous. They don't even have a contact support to discuss on this situation.
And when I try to send a message on request support on their website, this one too they are asking me to pay. On the section for support request it asked to fill up your request and after following you have to add your credit card as well.
Fake advertisement and limited unlock
I just subscribe to course hero today, 31 July 2018 after saw the advertisement said 9, 95 monthly charge for 1 year. after that I was charged 163 Aud (after converted from USD) straight away! I still wanna try for 1 month to wanna see how it works but it already charged 163 Aud, that insane! After that I tried to unlock some answer but still couldnt any answer and poor uploading answer, not even complete! and u have limited to unlock it, so greedy. I straight away unsubscribe it because I really dissappointed and pissed off. 163 dollar instantly for nothing. I am extremely dissatisfied by this company's website and services. I selected that I wanted the monthly membership which was an option. There was no plain and clear indication that the company would be debiting the full annual amount from my debit card-very upsetting and disappointing. Also, I entered my questions in the search engine hopeful that some good material would populate. A long list of options resulted with key words from my questions embedded within them. I clicked on 2 articles and read them fully and realized none of them had anything to do with what I was looking for. So of course on my assignment I received a failing grade because it was timed. So I was ployed into doing activity online because the website told me if found 'helpful articles" that would assist- this was false. And now a customer service representative is telling me that I cannot receive a full refund?! I am not happy whatsoever. And then on top of this, I am aware the phone lines do not reopen until normal business hours but the call prompt but it invites you to leave your information to request a call back. Well here is the funny thing about that option, after the recording there is no beep to start the message and no button to select so that you can leave you information for a call back request. Hmmmmmm *scratches head*. I am beyond livid and will be leaving a complaint with the BBB.

27/07/2018 charged me $163 from my account I just joined for monthly subscription and charged me $163montly subcription cost only $54 then charged me $163. This is scam site please refund my money back I am going to report this issue to further. There is no way you can access any of the documents. When I try to open the site asking me to pay more money. Money paid but no subscription in my account
While I was doing payment for subscription, payment error messages kept coming up for like three times, BUT THEN, I checked my bank statement and money was taken out Three times ! And still no subscription appeared in my account!
I contacted with my bank and they told me CourseHero needs to cancel the transactions otherwise I'll lose my money for nothing! I want my money back ASAP!
