I bought a steam deck for my husband for xmas, but i accidently bought the wrong item so i tried to cancel the order before it arrived with no luck. I recieved the item and returned it immedietly with constant emails to dick smith outlining my mistake, i have sent about 10 emails since the 20th dec to swap it for the other item which im happy to pay more for as communicated. I have had vague replys maybe 3 emails from dick smith asking for info i have already sent them, im going around in circles, there are no numbers to call. Im out $900 and they have the item. I am absalutely gobsmacked at how a business can operate in this manner, doqn right ignoring customers. I have already made them aware that they are in violation of there consumer guarentee aswell as dick smith staff conduct.
I have still had no contact from them amd it is now 30.01.2024 . I started this process on 20.12.2023.
Absalutely will never shop at dick smith ever again. Also very convenient that the price of the steam deck reduces 1 day after purchase.
Claimed loss: $900 and a gaming console.
Desired outcome: My money back or a legion go.
