I tried to cancel my services due I can not afford it to do my payments. When I call them they always told me they can not cancel if they do it I need to pay for 2 years because the contract last 2 years I am going to retire this year and I want to move to a diff ent country. Anyway they decline to cancel. I don not what to do. I can not pay. Please help!
Dish Network TV
I reinstated my Dish subscription for my RV before heading to Montana for a few days. Everything worked perfectly in my driveway at home, so I packed it up and left on my trip. Upon arriving in Montana, I set up the satellite receiver to watch TV in my RV using the Dish mobile app to ensure I had a clear unobstructed view of the Dish Satellites. I could only get the crappy half of the channels I was subscribed to that nobody wants to watch. After many resets, calls to Dish Technical help, and moving the RV to a different spot, there was no improvement in the channels received, so I cancelled the service. No refund. So, I called them after getting my CC statement to ask. They still had me down for a $95.07 credit. I said I don't have any other RV trips planned this year and want that money refunded. They agreed and transferred me to another agent. That other agent said I would only receive a prorated refund of $88 and change. I want the full refund since the service I paid for never worked except for a few minutes in my home driveway before putting it away and leaving on the vacation. They refused to refund the full amount for services not rendered.
Dish thinks it's OK to take money for services they did not provide.
Desired outcome: Full refund not partial.
When you activated service, it was active until you deactivated service. You have to pay that prorate in between. You admit it worked until you deactivated service, so the proration is correct.
Dish cable TV fraudulent charges on my bill.
On my June cable bill I was charged $193.00 for adult movies that I didn't order. I pay my bill on the phone via automation I never look at any bill. I contacted Dish to question why is my bill $510.00. That is when I discovered the unauthorized adult movies date. Those dates were 5/20/2022 (6) 5/21/2022 (3)
5/22/2022 , 5/26/2022 (3) 5/27/2022 (3) 5/28/2022 (2). Their were other charges dates PPV channels 486 and 489 on 5/22/2022.
I have spoken with several Customer service reps. They trying to convince me that they were ordered from my home. I made 1 final attempt on 6/25/2022 to get this finalized. The first person said she could adjust 30.00 of the bill and then she transferred me to a Sr Resolution person name Rebecca in West VA. She was very thorough with her explanation. Stated that they pay an outside vendor upfront when movies or fights are ordered. Therefore, if they adjust the to bill for everyone then they will not get their money. She asked if anyone else had been in my home. I said no and explained this whole experience has made me feel so violated and just left me in awe. I don't feel that anyone should have to pay for something that they didn't request whether it's from a remote or a hooper. The end result was the agent adjust 50.00 total off of the movie charge of $193.00. We now have parental controls on all remotes. This has been a lesson learned and I hope nobody else will have this experience.
Desired outcome: I want the entire amount of $193.00 remove from my bill.
There is a reason this is explicitly covered in your service agreement. Highly recommend reading it.

It’s the Boondocks and is hilarious, but even still Dish has no control over the content. You’ll want to take your concerns to Cartoon Network. Providers do not control what is on or when, they only rebroadcast the signal as sent by the channel owners. This includes commercials.
Return of equipment and never received promo card
In April 2022 I discontinued my dish network service. I contacted them and they told me they would send out boxes for me to return the receivers. I waited and waited and never received any boxes, but what I did receive was a voice mail telling me that I will be charged if they were not returned. I called them and they assured me that the boxes would be coming. Again I waited for these boxes. They never came. Then I get an email telling me that I have been charged $449 for non returned equipment. I left this go because I was told that if I was charged that it would be removed once the equipment was returned. The week after the email I come home to find a note left by USP telling me that they would be back tomorrow to pick up the equipment. I never called them to pick anything up. So I call dish again. This time the person assures me that he will send the boxes out and was going to send me a tracking number. I was never able to track the package, it returned nothing when I entered the number. So I call them again. Told the customer rep that I still have not received the boxes to return the equipment. I was assured that they would be sent and he sent me another email with tracking number. After two months, I still have no boxes. I refuse to go purchase or find boxes to return this equipment. I feel like they are doing this on purpose so that they can destroy my credit. on top of this, when I signed up I was supposed to receive $300 promo card for switching to dish. I never received it. I spent about six months calling them and nobody would help. They kept saying it was sent. Finally a year after getting service I call and finally am transferred to a person that knows what they are doing. All the calls I made the previous year were never handled properly and since it was over a year since I got service, the card expired and they could not reissue a new one. They told me if the reps that had handled my call initially would have transferred me to the proper area, They could have helped me. Seems like the same thing is happening with the return boxes.
Desired outcome: I want boxes so I can return this equipment. Do you think I want it laying around my house!
You’re going to be extremely disappointed when you find out you agreed to bare sole responsibility for the return, including boxes. The boxes and labels Dish sends are a courtesy, not a requirement.
Service/repair
My satellite went down can I call then troubleshooted for a half an hour and they can't get out here till next tuesday. I've been once a copy of her fifteen years or more and there's no priority for ask that's been a faithful long time customer.
Desired outcome: Fix it ASAP
I would like my satellite fixed. My satellite lost signal last wednesday and it's going to take them six days to come out here and fix my satellite

Boost mobile phone service
They have turned off my phone before the due date. Then put my phone on lost and stolen which I did not report. Boost mobile told me now I have to pay to leave the company and I am not in a contact. Now I have emergency emails I can’t retrieve. I asked to get the corporate number which they gave me an AARP number?!
Desired outcome: Retrieve emergency emails, unlock my phone, no lost or stolen, and no pay. This incident have started in January through out June of 2022. Boost mobile in Carmichael California area.
Billing/false advertising
When we signed up for Dish network, I was promised a locked in price of 103.00 As of now my bill keeps going up by 17.00 every month and is currently 129.00. I was promised HBO, Cinemax and Showtime free for 3 months and never got to watch a single channel. My husband was promised all the regional football games and never got to see any of them except for what was on the local channel. Instead he got 20 channels of soccer which he does not watch. Now I am losing channels and get roughly 100 channels of nothing but home shopping channels and advertising channels which we do not watch.
Desired outcome: Give me what was promised! A locked in price of 103.00 and HBO, Cinemax and Showtime free for 3 months as promised or I will cancel subscription and go elsewhere.
Its too late for the movie channels. You had 7 days to dispute that. The core price is locked. Non core items, such as the protection plan, movie channels, RSN fees, taxes, and locals are not part of the price lock. I strongly encourage you read your agreement(everyone has the same one, its available at mydish.com/legal).
Promising one thing and delivering another is just the dish business model, right?
Fraud
I received a call from a collections agency stating that I owed over $1, 000 to Dish Network for an account that was opened in California and never paid. I have never had Dish Network, and I have never lived in California. Apparently, according to Dish Network, my social security number was used to open the account.
I worked with Dish Network and did everything that they asked me to do regarding getting the issue resolved.
This involved filing a report, putting fraud alerts on all my credit cards, filling out an identity theft affadavit with the FTC, and sending them numerous personal information items, such as my Social Security card, Drivers License, proof of residency, etc.
I followed all of this as I know that it is important to verify who I am. However, Dish Network simply stopped doing anything after I sent all this information. I never received any phone calls, emails, etc.
I called back to follow up and was told to contact their Fraud Investigation Department.
My credit has been destroyed by this, yet I am still being treated as though I am guilty every time I call Dish Network about this. The issue is still not resolved and have tried to escalate the resolution to no avail. I get nowhere when I call Dish Network and wind up just going in circles being transferred from one department to another.
I am beyond frustrated and don't even know where to go from this point. If I don't start hearing things soon I'll be contacting an attorney to get this resolved.
Desired outcome: Resolve this ASAP. Update the resolution with all credit reports. Call me to update me.
Attorney isn’t going to do too much about Dish. What they will do is bill you high fees, and then say that you have a slim chance of clearing your name. The best to happen would be the company possibly voluntarily removing the data, but short of that, you’re SOL. This is why IDT is so bad.

Hi, we been a dish customer for over 20 years - over the years dish has bumped up the monthly cost several times - so we had to take their access to our bank account away - they give you a discount to have access but eventually take advantage of it - keep a eye on your account they will help themselves to your money — when I complained and took away their access they offered me a different package to keep my monthly cost the same as I was paying - and they took away some channels - it seems that they would reward customers instead of taking advantage of them - but I won't pay 100 dollars to watch tv - that's nuts= we eventually agreed to their flex plan to keep the cost down - still 70+ a month - I wish we didn't - it's a sham - it's a waste of money for programming we don't watch - when the agreement 2 years is up - were all done with dish - I don't care what they offer= they take advantage of their customers and I am done - it seems we are getting into streaming and liking it and it's less than half of what were paying dish - I can't wait for our agreement to be over!
Desired outcome: No outcome desired- were all done with dish when our agreement is over- They did it to themselves. They should reward their customers not take advantage of them. Were DONE!

Closed account
I don't have a DISH account never did. I signed no paperwork. I contacted Dish about a deceased person to inform them. I started this nightmare in MARCH 2022. Never talked to the same person. But everyone had me jump through hoops, do this, or we'll get back to you. Finally I had boxes arriving from everywhere. The stuff was packed up by relative and mailed. Then this bill came in my name with a account number.
Desired outcome: I owe nothing nor do I have an account so deleted THE debt and bogus account.
About the bad experience I had
My account number is [protected] you guys charged me 109.64 dollars plus 29.99 that I did not know about the name was sat tv Lockport New York that was a payment I was not aware of you guys gave me a contract of 54.99 for 2 years and I asked you guys for baseball channels and Spanish channels plus nick,nickjr and others and i was talking to a very unprofessional person that did not help me in any way and told me that they were not going to give me my money back and they were only going to give me 40 dollars back and that is not fair because I canceled 24 hour before of service and this company I don’t recommend no one they lied to me by saying that installation was free and at the end they charged me for something I did not use at all
There is no cancellation grace period. Once installed, the contract is in place.
HD in the USVI
Why is it that almost all the channel in the continental US are in HD and not even half of the channel we receive here in the USVI and Puerto Rico are in HD.
we pay the same for our programing and get much less for our payment. I think that is racist and discriminatory.
Desired outcome: We want what we pay for and that is the same service that the rest of the USA get and that is HD TV!
Fox News
I would like to complain about the racist content on Fox News and help get it off my TV lineup. I am being forced to and do not want to pay for a channel that inspires violence against people of color. Fox News regularly airs hosts who support White Supremist ideology which inspires its viewers to commit acts of violence and terrorism against citizens of our country.
Dish Network is supporting this if they do not remove Fox News from their lineup. At least give customers the option of not having to pay a portion of our bill to support Fox News.
This reflects poorly on the entirety of the Dish Network, including it's employees, affiliated corporations, and commercial sponsors.
Desired outcome: The cessation of customers being forced to pay for Fox News if they do not want it, or the removal of Fox News altogether from Dish TV's channel lineup.
That’s not how it works. If you want to not see it at all, go ahead and block it and hide blocked channels. The service is not a la carte and you do not pay for any specific channel.

i am 82 years older signor citazine, I went to dish for a special promotion prize, instead the are rob me blind, the list I am sending you is from my account from dish, you can see by yourself all the charge, even so you pay the $ 273.08 it doesn't show on my dish account, I want you guys to stop payment, don't acted any charge from dish and I want full credit of the $273.08,and other payment you have made. A bill that I have gotten saying I owed money on unreturned equipment.
I canceled my Dish Network in Aug 2016. I returned the the out dated equipment as instructed. Then I get charged for 498.00 on an account that as been closed for 8 years. I have not heard from them or been billed for any unreturned equipment. Dish Network also got my new card number with out me giving it to them. The bill I received says for NEW TV CHARGES
The equipment was returned I dropped the boxes off at a UPS on Aug 19,2016
I no longer have any recite for they were lost in the Wild Fires 2020.

I left Comcast/Xfinity to sign up with DISH TV for 2 years. DISH customer service promised me when installation was complete that I would receive a $400.00 DISH gift card as thanks for signing up. Its been months and I haven't received my $400.00 DISH gift card. I've talked to DISH customer service several times,several calls were are lost or hung up. When I do reach DISH customer service they assure me my $400.00 DISH gift card is on its way.

Outrageous disconnect fee
I have had Dish for the past 3 years & because every time it rains or snows it goes out. Just last week alone both on Tuesday May 3 (Secrets of Oak Island followed by Secret of Skinwalker Ranch) and Thursday May 5 I had ZERO tv viewing on those nights. My last check for service was 1:00a.m. and still no Dish. Since I have had to add streaming services to make up for when the dish is out I also have to pay for some of those. Last year I had I think it was 2 months of a sudden increase for my second year of up to $136, with no reason like buying movies or anything like that. Then my bill went to $117/mo. & I paid that for about 2 months. I called Dish to see what I could do to lower my bill. I accepted less channels I do remember that but I do not remember the 2 year contract. It is absolutely wrong to be locked in for 2 more years everytime you make a programming change. That is such a scam! So now last week both my husband and I were over Dish when our favorite shows for the week came on and the Dish went out. So I have been calling Dish over being charged $180 just to cancel their service after 3 yrs of being a paying customer and just dealing with their outages. This is so wrong to do to people especially ones like me on a fixed income and everything has went up like food & gas. I should not have to pay them for the poor service. We took it as long as we could. It's not right to take this much money from people who just don't have it. Very unfair practice & I will never recommend Dish to anyone because of this. There is no contract for programming changes. The contracts would be for three things. Moving, upgrading or taking a credit to lower your bill.
tv content was misrepresented
I initiated service with DN 4/28/22 after being assured their channel programming included the Hallmark Channels (3). Once service started it was clear immediately 90 % of the Hallmark channel service isn't actually HM movies... but... 30-40 yr old sitcom reruns. I didn't watch these shows 30-40 yrs ago...and don't want to now ! My family and I love the Hallmark channel movies and it is clear DN misrepresented what they can provide. Not only that... they have only 2 HM channels not 3. One of the channels carries "Little House on the Prairie" / "The Golden Girls" 24/7. The other channel has about 3-4 HM movies only during the day... but at 7 pm (prime time) they run only "The golden girls". No Hallmark movies ! When my family and I normally watch tv.
I have asked for them to fix this... they apparently cannot change what they get. So... I checked with 2 other tv providers.. and they do get real HM movies during the day and evening on all 3 HM channels. I have asked to cancel the account..but they are insisting on charging me an early termination fee of $ 400+ which I obviously feel is unfair... because if they had the content I asked for... I wouldn't be asking to close the account to go to another provider that does have the content my family and I want to watch.
Desired outcome: Have DN cancel my service.... and eliminate the early termination fee so I can move on with a company that actually provides Hallmark movies on their Hallmark channels .
The contract is very clear that it is not dependent on content or channel selection. This is the same for every provider. The reason being is that providers do not have any control over what the channels broadcast. The channels broadcast to every provider the same. Dish has 3 Hallmark channels. Those are the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies and Mysteries(HMM), and Hallmark Drama. Your ETF would be valid in this case.
