dish unilaterally canceled my account
Hello,
I decided to cancel DISH but the customer service guy told me there would be cancelation fees, so I told him okay, don't cancel, can you reduce the bill to less than $20 a month, he said $29.55 is the lowest and they mailed me a box to return equipment. Since I was returning two boxes, I decided to return the third box as well and paid UPS $7 for a larger box and shipped backed all their equipment. On receipt of their equipment they without my permission and unilaterally canceled my account and are now billing me $320 cancellation fees. The fee should be $300 at $20 for the remaining 15 months they won't budge. However their contract does not state that they will unilaterally cancel your account if you return all their equipment.
I am at my wits ends, our politicians do nothing to help us with these deceptive practices, they force you to pay for boxes that you don't ask for, so you pay for a service that you CANNOT use unless you rent their boxes, so in essence we are prisoners of these companies.
I do hope there will be solutions to all these money making rackets. Most of us don't watch TV except for a few hours each evening, the money they charge us is ridiculous. They shove all the shopping channels, adult channels, sports channels 80% of the channels are USELESS and not desirable...so when will this racket end?
Since I am providing feedback, please don't insult me with letters saying you would LOVE to have me back and offer me $500 in various incentives. Secondly I am competent enough to handle my business, your suggestion on how to removed the Dish antenna located in a spot that makes it an eye sore is not solicited. As a reminder the antenna was not returned so Dish equipment is still at my property.
This is a joke. You all charge a fee for a service, we cannot watch or utilize this service unless we are strong armed into renting your equipment, you put additional equipment up in locations that suit your convenience, we don't want to rent equipment but we are forced to and then you all unilaterally cancel an account saying equipment was returned but the main piece of equipment is at the property...HELP...this loony house is beyond my comprehension!
My last comment since DISH has unilaterally canceled my account and charging this outrageously high fee, kindly arrange to remove the physical dish that has been mounted in such a conspicuous ugly spot. Thank you very much.
not having a simple channel like nbc!
Explain to me why it is taking you guys so long to figure out a deal and get NBC and CBS back on dish in Minnesota. Figure it out. The only thing I want to watch on your stupid provider is football, and I can't even watch prime time games on big channels.
I will cancel my subscription if this does not end soon. Because I am sick and tired of paying for a horrible and un organized company. Get your crap together!
employment and customer complaint
I was once a dish employee and the reason why I lost my job was because I wasn't able to sell at dishes desired money amount I'm not happy with this because every other company that deals with cable or satellite does not have a satellite technician sell their products DirecTV doesn't do it AT&T doesn't do it neither does Comcast it's terrible that you going to someone's home and try to push your products for profit on them and force your employees to do so at risk of their job it is downright despicable the job description for that is satellite technician not salesman if anyone were to ever ask me if they should work for Dish I would tell them to go to any other cable company
deceptive renewal practices/termination charge
I have been a DISH customer since 2015. After installation I could never get a signal in 1 room that had a wireless joey. Multiple telephone calls failed to correct problem. DISH said I needed a technician to come out. That visit occurred in June 2017. The technician found the initial setup was wrong, and reconnected the equipment. I had never needed the wireless joey unit I had been paying for.
I am now trying to cancel and DISH is saying that technician visit constituted a 2 year renewal because their "notes" indicate I received new equipment.
I have explained to DISH twice that-I have actually paid for years for equipment that never worked-I did not receive any new equipment in 2017-they just fixed my setup. I remember the DISH technician saying during the visit that if he did not report some new equipment DISH would charge me for fixing their own problem-I have no idea what the technician reported.
What I DO KNOW is that I have had the same number of receivers for 3+ years-they only started working correctly 1 year ago. I had NO IDEA this service call to fix DISH's problem which I have OVERPAID for for years would constitute a 2 YEAR RENEWAL.
I am not being charged $200 to terminate service and $30 to return equipment.
I have asked for the documents to show where and how I authorized a renewal-because I know I had NO IDEA I WAS DOING SO.
SHAME ON YOU DISH for your rude, self serving customer service people who just want to repeat WHY THE CUSTOMER IS WRONG RATHER THAN LISTENING OR RESEARCHING ANYTHING.
Dish has sent me a 4 page contract they say I signed. I never saw the documents they are falsely attaching my signature to. I have been through all of my bills and in no way was this supposed renewal ever referenced or listed. They took my signature saying service was completed and falsified a renewal. Unbelievably fraudulent conduct
I signed a work order on a tablet for the work the technician completed and for a service plan he recommended I purchase to ensure future service calls would be covered. I have been through all of my bills and I never authorized any new co tract nor was any new contract reflected on my bills. 100 percent fraud
unauthorized credit card charges
My name is Ramesh Patel. I am a customer of Dish Tv from more than 10 years. I have decided to stop service from Dish TV on Sep.07.2018 5.30 pm.
I do not have any contract with Dish TV. But they are trying, Not to let me go.
So, they are threatening me to charge $ 200 for termination Fee.
But I do not have any contract. And ask them to produce a contract with my signature. They are not able to produce it. But going to collect $ 200 from my credit card. This is a legal notice, not to collect money without my approval. This is a Harassment case. I need a justice. I have given them Auto pay, But not the unlimited amount They want and when they want. I have not given them a blank check. Once I have Requested to close my account and they agreed, all terms are void. Still I am agreed to pay $ 8.71 for the service they have provided. What should I do to stop payment from my credit card.

customer service
Traveling in rv, we were told to call in with new zip code wherever we are. Every thing working fine till the state of Washington covered in smoke, we were getting Seattle stations in Cle Elum, we thought maybe we need to use Cle elum zip, well we have service but not anything we signed up for, the folder, channel guide does not coincide with our TV now, and of course your agent says we can't go back to the same one we have been since end of April. We have looked, cant find 60% of what we want. Every agent gives us different stories, I cant wait for contract to end
hln forced each time start tv
DISH Network has HLN forced to override when TV is turned on. No matter what channel we had on when TV was turned off. So HLN channel is on when TV is started, after being off more than 2 hours. This started after one of the updates. We do not watch HLN or CNN and have removed HLN from my list. Yet HLN channel is showing each time TV is turned on.They are doing this as a sign of their politics. So just like the NFL kneeing player, Goodbye. Contract up 24 OCT 2018.
upgrading of equipment
I was scammed by your sales representative
Recently upgraded 3 of my TVs to 4 k smart
Called dish to complain of poor hd reception
Was told by sales that I needed to upgrade from my old 720 equipment to the 4K hopper
Told them that I only had 3 smart TVs but she told me it would not be an issue that the hopper would accommodate these TVs and my old 4th one would operate independently from the 4K
In other words I could still operate the old tv in my kitchen with no add ons etc
Not the case I lost that tv and everyone I have talked to is telling me it will cost me another 7.00 a month to get it up and running
Dish is making plenty of money
Why do you want to scam this old retired man
I cannot afford anymore since I am budgeted
All I want is my old tv working like she told me it would

customer service
We have had dish four over 15 years we were on auto pay along time until their accounting system was changed and they tried to run it thru our bank three times before money came in! Then was in overdraft! Granted they paid for one of the overdrafts! Long story short our bill was running 97 a month five months ago i was told by the loyality department if i paid 97 for three months then our bill will go down to 76.86. Now 5 1/2 months later still 97 a month they responded to me today I dont know why you are relying on what you have been told! I stated they are your employees not mine ! No help! I have called every month for 2 years to have our due date on the third which i was told it was but no im charged late fees and extension fees cuz will be disconned on the 28 of every month! So much for caring for your customers they lie ! Trust me i know! My reccomemedation dont use dish as i was told sept 3 2018 dont rely on what they say!
no longer have univision
I tried to cancel my contract with Dish due to the problem y'all no longer have Univision as a provider. When we intailly got Dish we asked for those channels since that's basically all we watch at home. I'm upset due to the fact y'all will not fullimemt on yalls ends and no longer have those channels., all me to get out of my contract with out making me pay for the cancellation fee. It's not out fault y'all no longer have them.
NO they arent living up to their contract with their subscribers. When we signed up for dish we were told what channels we would be getting. The fact that they want to pay less for univision tells me two things, they dont care about there customers and what was promised and the executives want to line their pockets. Get over yourself already and give your customers the service they were promised
very poor customer service
Nearly a year ago I called DISH to lower my bill for satellite TV. Dish is very expensive, over $100 per month for me without many add on channels. They offered me two monthly credits for 12 months if I signed up for another two years. I agreed.
I was told the credits would not be immediate. After two months I called, went through the usual wait, and talked to someone that said there was a computer problem that did not complete the transaction. I was to receive a follow-up call. It did not come. Several weeks later I called again and again at the end of 45 minutes nothing was resolved.
After each call I would wait to see if DISH magically fixed things and if my credit was on my bill. It never was. Several weeks later I tried a new approach, the online chat service. The person on the other end was very helpful but after about 45 minutes I was told that they could not help, someone would call me the following week. No one called.
Now, nearly a year later, I called to cancel my account. Dealing with DISH is very stressful and I can't do it anymore. Just the stress of being on the phone with someone that doesn't seem to want to help would keep me from calling for weeks, just hoping that credit would show up.
Yesterday, Aug 26, 2018, I made the call. I was on hold for about 15 minutes and then talked to someone for about 10 minutes. He said that I was under contract and could not cancel my account. I explained the last year I have had and that I just wanted to be done with DISH. I no longer want any credits that I was never given, it has been too stressful to deal with DISH Customer Service.
I was then transferred to another department. I waited as usual and then attempted to explain my last year and that I wanted to cancel. This person would hear nothing of it. He said it was computer error and I would have to go through another department. I hung up.
I am not fighting this fight anymore. DISH can take my money and I will cancel DISH the second that I can. Until then I will post this message in a different forum every day to highlight my plight and to alert others.
After the most recent call to DISH, which led to my posting on this site, I have now received my next bill. Again, they did not give me the credits for re-signing up. And they will not allow me to leave DISH without paying the penalty. This company's customer service is awful. As is my entire experience in trying to 1) get what I was promised or 2) leave DISH without paying the penalty.
scheduling and misinformation
DISH advised of free upgrade to Hopper and I could retain all current timers. The apt was scheduled, rec'd three texts that day changing the apt time three times. Upon arrival, tech advised a 90 minute job. He left just shy of 4 hours. I was told he could not do the requested timer transfer as an 8 hour job and the apt needed to be rescheduled. Why was he sent to do a work order he could not do?! ...and, read the fine print because I have now made a 2 year commitment to stay with Dish or pay $400 to cancel the Hopper.
local channel disagreement
I was recently informed about a failure to come to agreement with my local channel KWWL in Iowa. I simply wanted to voice my opinion in this matter and if KWWL is not a channel that I will be able to receive because of this I will be dropping my service with dish. My opinion is that Dish does this type of thing all the time is simply trying to bully the smaller services. That disgusts me especially when people like myself are paying ALOT of money for your services. Dish is greedy...
Chad41 must work for DISH
satellite tv
Today Dish Network STOPPED my service.
While it is true that I am about 10 days behind in my payments, you would have thought that they would have sent an email, letter, text or phone call to warn you that you had to submit payment by a certain date before service was suspended.
But NO, not THIS company! Not only is the reception TERRIBLE --- the system goes DOWN whenever it rains, during thunderstorms, and even when a large plane flies over!
Also, the PROGRAMMING SUCKS! Unlike other companies, where the basic package contains all cable news channels and ESPN, THIS Dish package has NEITHER!
They do send you a notice, it's called a BILL with the due date clearly printed on it.

$762.56 satellite service I paid for and didn't receive
I have been a loyal CenturyLink customer for 19 years and bundled internet, DISH satellite and phone. In 1/2018 I bought a new TV and was told I needed update my DISH modem. I called Centurylink to do this and instead of sending me to DISH I was sent to some fast and smooth talking DirectTV salespeople who assured me I would save money by going with DirectTV so I did and the DISH was disconnected and DISH was contacted. I just realized today I have paid $742 to DISH since 1/20/18 without getting DISH service I paid for. I called Centurylink and they said I would need to discuss with DISH. Your DISH representative Devon was very rude and unprofessional in his interaction with me and said it was Centurylink's issue - your Centurylink or Direct TV should have taken care of it and I never should never have been sent to Direct TV when I asked for DISH and DISH wouldn't help I needed to talk to call Centurylink back. I did and talked to a manager Leslie. She said she would call DISH with me and we did and then Leslie and the DISH representative said on conference call it's just too bad for me and I shouldn't have paid it if I wasn't getting the service. I'm contesting this and considering legal consultation. This all seems like a scam, I've paid $750 and received no services and you all and Centurylink keep passing the buck back and forth and seem to have bad blood between the two companies. You all know there is no way to prove DISH was called 1/20/18 and discontinued at this point. I've already reported this to the BBB.
cancellation
I called Dish to cancel my account no.[protected] 43 Emory Street Attleboro, MA 02703 Floor 2. I have been in disabled housing.
On August 8, 2018 the woman said I needed to have my Doctor fax over a letter stating I was disabled and in disabled housing to clear an early termination fee.
It was never cancelled. I called yesterday August 16, 2018 approximately 1:30pm and explained this to the gentleman and why it hadn't been cancelled.
He had all my information and Doctors letter. He was extremely rude, trying to get me not to cancel and adding numerous amounts I will
have to pay as as a threat after my Doctors letter was received. I am extremely upset with this very unprofessional business and will
contact the Better Business Bureau for his unacceptable behavior and threats of insane amounts of charges if I cancel this account.
I did not accept any charges he stated I will have to pay which he kept trying to have me agree to. Over $400.00 is what he stated.
This account is closed and should have been closed on August 8th. The number I called was [protected].
An email was sent confirming my cancellation with a return fee that was charged to this account for each box required to return equipment and the terms of the contract. Then I returned my feedback at [protected]@dishnetworkmail.com. and it stated my email address wasn't found/ unable to receive mail. Then I saw address rejected. Extremely upset with DISH. satellite
On Aug 3 I called [protected] and talked to a lady, Ashley about dish. We got disconnected and I called back and talked to Queenie. She then transferred me to Elisia. We talked a good amount of time mostly her telling me how great Dish is and you never need service and everything is the best and if not Dish will make it good. In order to service my TV's I had to get 2 Hoppers, 3 Joey's, and 1 wireless Joey. To get the wireless Joey I had to pay $25.00 at that time. I was told you can record 8 things at a time but that is not true. In the mornings I have the bathroom TV on with the news and the weather. The last 2 mornings I have had another program come onto the channel I am watching saying it is at its limit with 3 recordings. Back to my Aug 13. Call, we decided which package would be best and a Quick installation. We hung up and I forgot to mention Offer Code: CARD100. I immediately called back and was talking to Nicole and we got disconnected. I called back and talked to Brad Abraham and he is the rudest person I have ever talked to in my life. He raised his voice and told me to be quiet and listen. He told me I was wrong and I ask for a manager and he hung up. That should have thrown up a red flag. On Aug 7 a Dish technician came to my house and we went in the backyard looking for the best spot to put the satellite. We then went in the house and I showed him where the TV's were located. After he left there is 2 remotes that will not turn the TV on or off. He named the 2 Hoppers the same name and we do not know which is which. Later that night my wife ask me if I got her phone charger and I told her no. I do not know if the technician used it to charge his phone and forgot he had it or what happened. I just know it had been in the same spot for 2 years. A couple of days later my wife ask me how long was the wire and concrete block with Satellite going to sit in the middle of the back yard. I told her it was not in the yard it was in the flower bed. She said It is in the yard. I told her we had picked out a spot in the flower bed and she said well it is in the yard. So I go out to look at it for the first time and my wife is right. She did exaggerate saying in the middle but it is in the grass about 4 or 5 feet where we picked. Besides not looking good where it is, it does not pass neighborhood covenants. Also I do not think it is clear as Direct and it has quit working several times since we have had it. Then today as I was looking up phone number for Dish I saw where Dish is offering 2 Alexa's and all we got so far is nothing has been done as promised. I do not know what to do next but see if a manager or representative gets back with me and we decide. From what the lady told me when we placed the order I want Dish to know I am not satisfied with their product or the people representing them. I am not responsible for the bill until we decide what we are going to do and satisfy me, the customer. Thanks
company and employees failure to do their job correctly
In june 2018, i notified dish i was relocating from texas back to arizona, , I also told them that there may be current services from another provider already connected. I was told that it ws ok and that the service was simple and they would void my contract if there was service. Now understand I am just a room mate, service is in the other persons name and we live in HOA/RENTAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT, 3 APPOINTMENTS AND 2 TECHNICIANS 1 TECH NEVER SHOWED, NOW there is a problem because each technician did not do their job correctly and apparently "worded" their review wrong placing blame on me, when I asked to have the technician come back they refused, when I asked to have another today they again refused. They then proceeded to tell me they were going to charge me 400 bucks as a fee for early termination. Whaaat? Wait just a second. I have done everything right and because your techs failed to do their job, like show up at a scheduled apptmnt, show up at the right time and date, or word their notes.correctly I am the one who has to pay? I think not.
This is another example of bad business practice and how company's are not training their employees correctly so to cover it up they blame the public and hold consumer responsible for their error.
I have contacted the CEO Erik Carlson via phone and left a message for resolution, I also left a message with the operator at corporate to send to the CEO and I have repeatedly spoken to customer service to resolve the issue.
SO far NOTHING!
