trapped in a contract
Purchased Dish 200 service back in April with a 2 year guarantee price of $49 per month. Lived in Nevada and moved to Oklahoma in November. Had Dish re-install my service. Tech came out and
sold me a bill of goods. Told me that if I purchased my equipment (total $450) which I am sure he got a commission on, that I would not be charged any fees and no longer under a contract.
Got my bill and am being charged more for the equipment service fees than I was paying when leasing the equipment. On top of that my plan was changed to a "Welcome Package" with only 1/2 the channels I was getting before. Asked why my plan was changed and no one could tell me why. But if I wanted to go back to the Top 200 It would now cost me $79 as the old plan is no longer available. Told them I wanted to cancel my service, and guess what, I still am under a contract for 15 more months.
Talked with multiple people and got a different story from each one. Several indicated that because I purchased my equipment, I was no longer under contract, but when transferred to their LOYALTY DEPT, I was told their would be early termination fees.
Needless to say, I would never recommend DISH to anyone as the entrap their clients into contracts and could care less about their customers.
If anyone would be interested in purchasing NEW Dish DVR and a HD receiver, I will be selling mine on EBAY.
t.v. bill
Beginning in September 2016 an additional bill of $77 has been added to my account. I have been trying with no avail to have this removed from my account. I was told the $77 was from may 2014. I would like for that additional bill to be removed. I can't understand how dish network could have just added an additional amount to my bill since may of 2014. I should not be responsible and pay up if they realized an error.
I recommend contacting Dish Network directly.
dish network truck driver.
I'm writing today to inform you about one of your drivers, while driving between republic washington, and tonasket Washington at 6pm myself and several other cars where passed by a dish truck that was driving recklessly speeding upwards of 80mph passing people on corners and on double yellow lines. Also while having a headlight out. This is not acceptable driving behavior for someone especially in a company vehicle. The license number of the truck is C84862B. Please don't let people like this end up killing someone that's going home to see there family.

customer service
We signed up for Dish about 30-40 days ago and had what we thought was a good deal as presented to us by the salesman. We now know we were WRONG ! Salesman gave us his cell phone number and told us to call him if we had any problem. We did just that several times within the first few days, left messages, more messages, and more messages. No return calls were made to us. We contacted Dish customer service and complained...they told us they would send the complaint up the line to human resources for resolution. Still no returned calls. Picture problems show up immediately on certain channels and we contact customer service. they have us on the phone for hours and transfer us to at least six different people. No progress. Now we touch base with someone in the "Office of the President" but again hit a brick wall. Basically got the idea of "Sorry about your luck" from these people. Now we find out that the salesman was a third party person and not a company rep. We did ask him that very question and he assured us he traveled all over the US for Dish and was a company rep. Contact the customer service dept again and found out that the salesman was never reported to HR and that there was no record of it. Well...what happened to the recorded conversation they claim for training purposes? Vanished huh? Now it is going to cost us $542.67 to get out of our contract including shipping, handling, processing, and what ever else they can get away with. Dish has burned us and we will never use their service again. We will pass this experience along to our neighbors, friends, relative, associates and anyone else we can tell. Despicable, Shady, and downright untrustworthy is our opinion of Dish. Buyer beware...remember to always watch out for a dog that smiles like that and never turn your back to him...it may get nasty!
I have been a long time Dish costumer and am usually satisfied with the service however the current removal of my local NBC affiliate is ridicules. I have called costumer service to complain about this. Your first response was to give me $5.00 off my bill for one month when I spoke to a costumer service "supervisor" I was given the $5.00 dollars off plus 2 PPV coupons. The other short term fix offered was an antenna to pick local stations, which I would be responsible for installing, that I have yet to receive. I really have had about all of this that I can stand if this is not resolved soon I am going to drop Dish network and seek another provider. Please put your differences aside and fulfill the contact that I pay for! David Freeman.
service and business dealings dish
After requesting a refund not once, not twice, but three times and 61 days later we are told our refund will be here in the next 23 days. We stopped our service because we were being billed for channels we were no longer receiving. We were tired of the increases in fees and decreases in good service. The 3 time request resulted because they had no record of our first two requests. So just know this company will keep money they know does not belong to them. Just know that they provide no proof that they received your request and until they receive that request YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK! Really disappointed in you Dish.
dish tv & internet services
I added my daughter, to my dish plan about March of 2014, during her pregnancy of her first son, so she could have TV during a very stressful pregnancy. At the time, she lived at Moses Lake, WA. She wanted to go back to school, so we decided to add internet for her to use for on-line college classes. She called to get the internet set up; everything proceeded smoothly, apt was made and she was told equipment would be sent out. The process to get this done included a credit check, using my social security number, charging a ghost charge of $1.00 on my debit card. Day came, no equipment, and when she called, Dish said they had no record of this appointment or even talking to us.
My daughter called Dish again, we set everything up together, again, another credit check; another dummy charge on the card; another appointment; she did get equipment, but no appointment! Again, when Dish was called they had no record of the appointment or of even sending equipment.
My daughter set up a THIRD appointment and just REPEAT of the first paragraph...
No internet service, no apt on file; NOTHING! My daughter then moved to a different house:
Still in Moses Lake. She called to set up an appointment to get dish internet; we went through the same procedure as above! Two different times, same scenario!
Today, on 10/4/2016, I have set up yet another appointment and to get equipment sent out to her to get the service set up; again, no record exists of her former call; no technician showed up; no equipment received. I have spoken to Veronica, and another woman, in the office of the president, but she stated all she could do was take my complaint, she could not help me facilitate this so my daughter would get this service!
So far, Dish has checked my credit six times in less than one year! Do you realize what that does to your credit score? It is horrible to go through this. This company needs to be held accountable for this disgusting customer service!
The really disgusting part of this, is that all this time, she has had an active Dish TV account...and Dish advertises World Class Customer Service.! What a joke.!
dish network
Do not use dishnetwork! a bunch of trickery and misleading involved.
I had dish network service in Goergia. After I realized that $35.00 was added on to my bill I had to cancel. I was mislead when I first signed up with Dish TV. I did not know I was under contract and also did not know that my service would increase an additional $35.00 after one years time. When I initially placed the call to find out about services I was looking for a company that I didn't have to be under contract. This is why I choose to go with Dish Network. Now I want to cancel and they are telling me that I signed a contract. Well, when the boxes were installed the rep informed me to have someone at the home present who is over 18. I couldn't be there so I had someone there over 18 but I did not know the technician was going to give them my contract to sign. They gave my contract to a minor who was present in the home at the time to sign. He had no idea what he was signing. How can his signature suffice for me. How can he agree to my business. I don't understand why no one in that company is understanding this. He thought he was signing for the instillation. I was under the impression that they needed someone there to let them in, not to sign my contract. that contract is a binding agreement between me and dish network not a 15 year old boy. how can he read over something and except for me. This is so unfair. Please assist me in this matter. Not only is it a money issue but also the blatant trickery involve.
Even is I had signed the contract its kind of tricky because in my initial call I was under the impression that their was no contract. This is what led to cancel my existing service in NY and go with Dish Network. I though the price was better and did not want to renew my obligation with my own service. Please look further into this matter and get back to me.
relocating dish network service
I signed a 24 mos contract with Dish Network knowing at that time we would be moving and was told how easy it was to get my service set up again once move was complete. They also talked me into the whole bundle package with internet and phone. When the move started in May 2016 we put our service on suspend and paid $5.00 a month for the Dish but was told that internet and phone would not transfer and had to pay $180.00 to get out of that contract and that the $50.00 a month for 2 year contract is no longer valid because we moved and they now want to charge me $100.00 a month for the same package. I have talked to them and there is no talking to them Dish doesn't want paying customers the want cancelation fees.
unauthorized charges
When I received my cable bill for the month ending 10/3/2016, I almost fainted on the floor. My bill was over 200 dollars! I went online to see why my bill was so high. I was charged about 65.oo dollars for adult movies. I called them and told them we were not even home, and nobody in my house would even watch these type of movies. I explained to the customer service rep that why would anyone want to pay for these movies when ANYONE can watch them for free on the internet! I told him that this cannot be true. The customer service rep told me that my house must have got "broken into" while we were not home and that the perpetrator must have ordered these movies and watched porn while we were not home. I only got credited about 20 dollars...I am still stuck paying about an extra 40 bucks on my bill! I have set up a password lock on each T.V. after reading all these complaints, I am now convinced that DISH is randomly and falsely adding/charging movies on customers accounts to put more money in their pockets... I would also like to add that my household consists of myself, my 5 year old grandson and my daughter. I also just left Charter to switch to Dish and now I am wondering if I made a mistake, a costly rip off one!
won't let me get service due someone who used to live at my address
I was shocked today when I was told that the previous resident owes Dish $1000. I bought my house 4 years' ago and I do not know the person they are referring to that use to live in my house and has delinquent payment when that person is not me and I don't know anyone by the name they gave me who owes Dish. This is a ridiculous issue to deny a new customer over a past customer who lived at my address.
I will be turning this issue over to the Better Business Bureau!
Consider yourself lucky if Dishnetwork refuses to enlist you as a subscriber. YEARS AGO Dishnetwork was a decent company. Today they have "customer service" personnel who barely speak English and are totally rude and obnoxious. I had DISH for 15 years before I switched to cable. I tried going back to DISH and they totally scalped me with excess charges. STAY AWAY FROM DISHNETWORK!
dish network is not honoring their $39.99 flex pack promotion and is overcharging me $10.00/month.
August 31-September 1, 2016
I have seen multiple sites/ads promoting DISH's Flex Pack for $39.99. The price includes the 50+ Flex Pack with your first “Channel Pack” choice included. The dish.com website promotes a $39.99 DISH Flex Pack with 60+ channels and includes the “first Channel Pack of your choice.”
My takeaway is that Dish's $39.99 packages do include and were intended to include one Channel Pack in the $39.99 price. Dish disagrees and is charging me $10.00/month for a Channel package that I believe is included in the $39.99 package price. I also believe that Dish has not trained its telephone staff to address questions about Promotions.
Here are some of the answers I received when calling about the $39.99 Flex Pack and why I was overcharged by $10.00. Note: The following statements were made during a 3 day period. I might not have the exact comment from the exact Agent. I have paraphrased comments that give context to my frustration and my belief that Dish is intentionally or unintentionally impeding customers from obtaining all that Dish promised.
Everyone I talked to at Dish was very polite and everyone hoped I had a good day and appreciated my business.
Agent 1/Day 1 -" Mydish.com is Dish's official website. I am not familiar with Dish.com's packages. Please login to Mydish.com and place your order." When I ask why I am being charged for my first Channel Pack when the promotional materials state it is included in the Flex Pack, the agent was obviously not familiar with the package. The agent stated she would submit my question up the chain and I should call back.
Agent 2/Day1 - "Yes, I believe Dish owns dish.com but we use mydish.com. I cannot speak to offers outside of mydish.com. Let me explain each item on your $67.43 bill. When the agent was done, I explain my question and I was put on hold. The agent returned and stated that the promotional statement “Includes first Channel Pack of Your Choice” is really talking about the 50+ channels in the Flex Pack itself. The Channel Packs are additional.
Agent 3/Day 2 - "I see what you mean. Let me push it forward. This may take 48 hours. Thanks for being a customer of Dish..."
Agent 4/Day 3 - The agent offered no response to my question about the Channel Packs. The agent did offer an out-of-the-blue comment about the cost for DVR being included in the $39.99 package price. Do you see on your bill where it says, "Flex Pack w/DVR?" The DVR is an additional charge. There is nothing we can do. Can I help you with something else?"
I hope Dish will honor their advertising which clearly states that one Channel Pack is included in the Flex Pack 's $39.99 price. I request Dish reduce my bill by $10.00/month for the remainder of my 2 year commitment.
Any help would be appreciated.
I also signed up for Dish TV promotion, scheduled installation. When gave the code for the $100 Vias gift card was given stumble humble excuses as to why I can't have it. I then called back 3 hours later and ws told something about my credit score, I have a 805 score. I guess you have to have a BAD score in order to receive the card I at that time cancelled my scheduled appt...they don't need me
t.v. and data
They link your tv use to your internet use .which takes forever to download anything .One movie on demand wipes out all your data time as it takes about 5 mins. To download about 1 min. Of the movie. When I call to complain they try to sell me more data time .then they tell me not to watch on demand or play video games because they are to slow to provide these services. How they can legally bill you for service they cannot and will not provide but sell you without any problem is beyond me .Then They ask if I can go to another provider .As if they don't know what's available in my rural area.they have what amounts to a monopoly .every time I call they offer no solutions just ask for more cash for service they do not have the capacity to deliver .1000 bucks of dell computer sits useless in my house because of this .
Dish tv is unethical. They made the mistake and refuse to rectify it.
I signed up with dish tv last year 2015 in August, I saw the tv advertisement for 2yrs price of $49.99 locked in. I called signed up, then I got an email seen I was locked in for only a year then the price shoots up $40. I contacted them to have the acct specialist tell me to call back when I was close to the year being up and dish would fix the problem. Well...I have called 12/22/15spoke to Maria Editha who said I needed to call in July-2016. I called 7/20/16 spoke to Andrea who said all she could do is give me a $5 credit for 3 months, I was then forwarded to account specialist Mike-ID #IEU who said it will go up to $87.00 all he could do is give me a $5 credit. He told me to call back in Aug. 2016. I called on 8/8/16 spoke to operator Anna-ID# S95 who sent me to an account specialist-Riza ID# ZXY who wouldn't help me after I waited 14 minutes on hold for him. He said to call back after Aug.16, 2016. I called back 8/17/16 spoke to Edgar-ID# RFD who checked the notes and offered $5 credit, I was sent to account specialist Luke-ID# SBF who said all he could do is offer me the Flex Package at $63.02, I told him I had to check with husband and see if that package covered the channels he likes. He said he would note the account. I call back 9/2/16 and I spoke to a Carl-ID# XCTC who offered me a one time credit of $5 then transferred me to account specialist Marty-ID#7HD who said all he could do is give me $5 credit and that I don't qualify for Flex Package anymore or the $5 off or the $5 off for having auto pay. Now that all happened in 4 minutes. I guess he decided he didn't like me and I didn't qualify for anything. I am now going to be charged $68.02. I want to be done with this company and in order to do that I was told by Marty that I would be fined$240 to be done with them. I feel this is unfair since it was DISH that did not set up the 2yr locked in price to start with and when I caught it they told me the company would make it right before the 12 months was up. Well... obviously they had no intention in doing so. We have excellent credit and pay our bills, I feel this company is unethical and I want resolution. I will never use this tv service again and I will tell others what they have done to me. My mother in law wanted me to refer her so she would get a credit of $5 for 10 months... I will not do this to a 73 yr old woman on a fixed income. This company is not for her.
loss of local fox channel broadcasting seahawks games
DISH is in a spat and the customers are the losers. DISH promises stellar service to new customers but treats existing customers like trash. What was available at the time of sign-up is no longer available and they will not provide a solution without charging me more! Poor customer service, poor account representatives reading off a script, repeatedly. Local Fox Channel 13 offered Seahawk game broadcast but now on the basic DISH package this channel is no longer available. It's a bait and switch and DISH is trying to use its customers as a bargaining chip. All they've succeeded in doing is increasing the internet complaints and degrading their rating as a company people want to do business with.
Dish Told me my bill would be $65.55 every month for 1 year so we wouldn't switch to Direct TV. We have been 11 year customer of Dish and since we moved 4 years ago I have trouble with the bill. Direct TV promised $59. for a year with no contract and now I believe we should have done that. Every month my dish bill was $70- $77. Not like we agreed upon.[$65.55} I can prove it wasn't the right amount. They admit it was to be $65.55 but they are saying now my discount ran out. I called Sept 23, 2015 and September 26, 2016. That's a year and I called because my bill was $141. and they said well that was from your increase in your bill you didn't pay. When I bring up the fact it was to be $65.55 a month for a year and that's what I paid they said yes but your discount ran out so you still owe $61. more . because I paid the $80.93 that they agreed to give me for 6 months now. Well I called almost exactly a year and I don't see how they can say that I owe that much more When it didn't have a month of no discounts. Plus the big kicker is we went on line and they have a 240 channel package for $98.00 a month and she told me our 200 channel package is regular $141. a month. They sure don't keep up what they tell you . I am looking to do something different. Dish you are going to loose a long 11 year customer.
overcharge
I have had the worst service from Dish Network.
I made my second payment online with my debit card on August 6th and then set up auto pay to start in September. Next day I looked at my checking account and Dish took two payments of $95.90 and one payment of $76.97. Because of this my bank charged me a $33 OD fee.
These three charges and the overedraft fee cost me $301.87. This amount is HALF of my monthly Social Security.
I went on chat twice with customer service with zero resolve. One person said he’d mail me a check and the other person said it will be put back into my bank account electronically. Neither has happened and it is now August 15th. I am left without money for food, etc. because of this mistake.
This is how I am treated after only two months of service and as an 80 year old woman I have to say I’m outraged and disappointed. No one cares from this company that an elderly lady has no money for food because the company took it without permission.
tv service
Why can't you negotiate with Fox so I can watch the Seattle Seahawks football? I pay for almost everything and you can't even provide a simple football game. There is no excuse for not televising the game in any form. I changed from Direct because the service was so bad and now you are letting down so many customers.

dish network pay as you go
Background: Dish account [protected]. I had a pay as you go account for our RV. We put it on Pause because we were not using it. I chatted with an agent in April to close the account because we were not using the RV and I did not want to pay the fee every month to keep the account on Pause. After several months of attempting to close my account...
Read full review of DISH Networkunauthorized credit card charges
On August 5, 2016. I spent over an hour on the phone, while at work, I kept repeating that I was at work and they did not seem to care. Kept putting me on hold, playing pinball with transferring me here and there, then as far as to hanging up on me. I was calling because I let my card be used once to a person I trust to get services established. $440.00 was taken off my card unauthorized. Being as it is a Friday, I called ASAP. I still can not get a confirmation on when I am able to get my funded returned back to me. These funds are critical to me because I am undergoing radiation treatments and next step is surgery for Cancer. All the funds I have are very important to me. I am just now able to come back to work for the time being. I tried to explain this, and however they did not care. I have numerous bills to pay. $440 may not seem like a lot but when it is unexpected it surely is. I do NOT appreciate the negativity and rudeness I received and I do NOT appreciate being passed around and hung up on. Furthermore, I do NOT appreciate being told it would be refunded to me and it has not been. I have referred many people to DISH, I no longer stand by them and will not encourage anyone to switch or go to their services. Professionalism is one thing people strive on, and that is something that was very much so lacked.
stopped service charged for 2 months
I called DISH on May 30 and cancel my service because I was moving. The lady said she would take care of stopping my service the last day of the month which was Tuesday the 31st of May.I was looking at my bank statement in July and was puzzled because Dish was still charging my account for the last 2 months, $107.54.
So I called DISH immediately to let them know what had happened. They said there was nothing they could do because I supposedly never contacted them to stop my service.I said YES I did on May 30.They said sorry we have you calling on June 2 about some equipment issue.I said yes I called on June 2 to see what to do with my equipment? All they do is give you the run around.
