Forest river travel trailer sound bar replacement
We had dropped our travel trailer to the Dixie RV Service Department in Defuniak Springs, FL on 4 Dec 2020. We had called ahead to let them know we were doing our first yearly service. We wanted our sound bar replaced because it did not work properly. Liz our service representative immediately told us to Walmart and buy a new one. We paid for an extended...

Dec 17, 1019 I brought the camper in for warranty work. I was told there was a leak in the slide and they would have to submit it to Jayco. February 24, 2020 I am still waiting for an answer from Jayco about the leak. I have called a minimum of 12 times to check on the status with out getting an answer. I have been to the Breaux Bridge site many times to...

We took our rv back within the 1 year period required to maintain warranty. We weren't given any paperwork to send to 3rd party warranty. It became apparent to us the next year that we were the ones with the responsibility to see that all the steps were taken. So, second year at time to take back for annual service, we took back again. We got an unexpected...

forever warranty
We bought a new Hurricane motorhome in May 2018 and purchaced the forever warranty at the finance officer's recomendation. He told us the unit would need to be inspected once a year which seemed reasonable and it was inspected after our purchace and before we took possession of the unit. We were led to belive that as long the unit was inspected during the second year our warranty would be valid but, in September of 2019 we carried it for some small warranty work at which time the service writer informed us since we had not brought it in before May of 2019 our warranty was void. We had the work done and I paid for it but, when I asked the servive writer what could be done about the warranty I had paid for in good faith he told me I could purchace another warranty and start over. I told him if Dixe RV was not going honor the first warranty why would I buy a second one . This policy seems misleading at best and total fraud at worst.
Guunar Byrd
service department
Dear Sirs;
This will be a lengthy complaint. My husband and I purchased a 2017 Lacrosse and the warranty from you in 2018. Your sales department was outstanding. Our salesman was Danny Tabor, and we have sent several friends to see him.
Our maiden trip out we had some problems with the stabilizer jacks, they were lose and were not working correctly. The break lights were not working either.
On May 13, 2019 we took our camper in for warranty work. They emailed us serveral times about the progress of the camper. After about a month the communication STOPPED. Everytime we called to get an update we were told that we could leave a message and someone would get back with us. That was a joke! Finally we recieved a call that the stabilizer jacks would cost over a $1000.00 that it was not covered by the warrenty. They stated that the jacks were possibly over extended causing the leg to bent. We drove to Dixie and went to talk to Danny Tabor about the warrenty. He tried to get an answer but was unable to get in touch with them. He called the manager and we talked about the problem we had our first trip out with the jacks. My husband told them that we were never shown the jacks and the only thing we were shown about the RV was the TV, water heater and AC. As we explained how did we know if the jacks were bent when we purchased the RV. The service department called us a few days later and said that they would cover the cost of the jacks. She said that the parts would be ordered. This was sometime in June. We did not get any communication at all. We called serveral time, and we finally drove to Dixie to see what was going on. ( We drove over because no one would return our calls.) We were told that the part was out of stock and was on back order.
In July we called serveral times to get any updates, and we never would get a called back! We drove out Again, to find out what was going on.
She showed us were she ordered the parts. She called the manufacture while we were there. They told her that the part would be shipped that Friday.
We called weekly to get updates, and we left message after message and did not get a return call.
We finally were called on the August 26 that the camper was ready. My husband drove to Dixie today. He went in the service department to pay our deductible. After paying the deductible he was told the trailer was being brought around to the front. No one from the service department came to show us that the work was completed. My husband checked everything himself.
I can not believe that you want your service department to run this way. It was not professional and definitely not completed in a timely manner. Your service department had our RV for 3 MONTHS! And the three months were in the middle of the summer and we the proud owners of this beautiful RV was NOT CAMPING!
We will not use Dixie RV for any work ever again. We will tell our camping friends to take any work they need anywhere but there.
We have been very upset over this whole matter. We hope that you address this with the service department and correct the issues. Your building, sales staff and inventory were awesome. It is a shame that we ended up with this terrible experience that left a bad taste to go forward with.
Sincerely,
Mary K. Cannon

sales/service
After finally making a deal on a $650, 000 RV I told the motorized manager that it would be several weeks before I could get there up pick it up since I had eye surgery. He insisted that they drive it to me in SC for free. After some thought, I told him ONLY if Dixie RV would check out the unit from top to bottom and front to back! He of course, they do that on all units...BS! When the driver delivered the RV to me, , , there was NO explanation of how things worked since he had no clue himself. During the delivery, I saw a few little items that I brought to his attention and he said the warranty will take care of it. SO...the next few days I really went over this unit and found 50+ items that needed to be repaired or replaced!...So I called the motorized manager being VERY DISAPPOINTED that all this needed to be repaired! I just wanted my old RV back and they could take this one back to Dixie RV. Of course he said that would NOT happen... He said that the factory would take care of it...? Of course they will BUT who is gonna pay for the extra wear and tear on the RV for the extra 1000 miles put on it? I insisted to speak with the owner of GM..he said that was NOT possible that they had other people to handle these types of things, so I was put off another person of which did NOTHING! These people did nothing to compensate me for the wear and tear of the RV that was supposed to have been checked out COMPLETELY!... All they wanted to do is get this RV OFF their lot!...I have made complaints to the BBB and several other platforms and will continue to do that ...ALL I CAN SAY...BUYER BE WARE!...
As of this date not ONE single person from DIXIE RV has called to see if I have been taken care of...what a lousy group of people! With all these complaints, I a surprised that they are still in business...UNREAL!
rv was not prepared as was told by the person selling to me
Purchased 2018 RV $650, 000 retail, after finally getting to the sale, the Motorized manager suggested that they just deliver it to my home for free! I like in SC, , but I told him DO NOT deliver the RV unless YOUR PEOPLE CHECK IT FRO TOP TO BOTTOM AND FRONT TO END for any defects that need to be taken car of. He assured they would do that since that is normal procedure. WRONG!.. When it arrived to me there were several item right off the bat I saw needed attention. Anyway the driver left it with me and took my trade...after I REALLY took a look at the RV I found over 50 items that needed attention; some were mechanical! So I contacted Dixie RV and they said they would have the factory pick it up and take back for repairs...WELL who is gonna pay for the wear and tear (tires battery, other components) for this 1000 mile trip? AS OF THIS DATE (1/22/2019) Dixie RV has NOT responded! I as to speak with the GM...they said that was NOT allowed as they had other people that I could deal with! PLEASE make sure you check out anything these people tell you...BUYER BE WARE!
forest river camper
It all started with the dealer (dixie land rv hammond) 10/27/16. The first year it spend more time at the dealer than at my home. Door and window leaks to fixtures falling of ceiling.ac and hot water stop working (ac replaced). Interior door falling off hinges etc. The underbelly falling down three times. I have given the dealer many opportunities to make things right. After the second lifetime warranty inspection october 2018. I was taking a trip to north louisiana, just out of lafayette speed limit 45 I had my first blowout (power king towmax tires) causing damage to underbelly and fender. Tires being just over two years old with less than 1500 miles. Installed spare drove 10 miles to tire center replaced tire. The other tires inspected found one other getting ready to fail, it was replaced. Back on the road at 1500 and just 45 minutes out of lafayette another towmax tire blows out at 65 mph. This tire caused extensive damage to underbelly ripping out flooring and wires. How dixie rv and towmax tires refuse to talk to me.
sales practices
We bought a 2014 Thor Outlaw from them last month and drove home 7 hours away with the check engine light on...Took it to the Ford Dealer in my town and it seems that someone has tampered with the catalytic converter on the unit. It was replaced with a converter that is made for a car.
I is illegal under f
Federal statues to sell a motorized vehicle that has had the catalytic converter tampered with...
Dixie Rv claims that it's got nothing to do with them because they do not do engines...REALLY? So you are going to send customers on a 7 hour trip in a 38 foot RV and never even have inspected the RV to make sure that it is safe to travel in. Even used cars get a 50 point inspection...
After this was brought to the attention of the salesman, Skip, and the manager John,
they did not seem to care. I insisted that they pay for the repair to have the correct converter put on, which they did, but I just don't trust this vehicle now. I gave them a down payment of $31k and still owe 70K . Not a wealthy person here, my husband is a disabled Veteran and we are in our 60's. It was a big deal for us to be able to do this purchase. Dixie Rv was going to work with us...for more $$$...
poor service during sale of rv
The Dixie RV staff was very nice but if you live out of state they will over charge you on sale taxes. We provided four pieces of documentation that Dixie RV should not have charged us Alabama and local sale taxes since the new RV would be registered out-of-state, but without any documentation of their own the Dixie RV staff insisted that they were right and kept our money. And then we had to pay the taxes again when we registered the new RV in our home state. The State of Alabama DMV documents and other Alabama RV dealers confirmed that Dixie RV should not have changed us the Alabama and local sale taxes. Letters to them has gone unanswered.
2017 jayco jay flight camper
Dixie RV in Breaux Bridge Advertised Warranty for Life on RV's purchased from their Business. Buyer Beware !. I purchased a Jayco Jayflight from this company in March of 2017. They require you to bring in for services every year on anniversary date for the Warranty to be valid. This cost $218 for them to service the appliances on the RV. First off, I had issue with burner for Hot water Heater not staying lit and also had a cracked sky light over shower, as well as an external radio speaker that was broken, not due to traumatic damage, They kept My camper for 3 1/2 weeks. I called Blane, the Services manager and told him that I would like some over site on the services to camper since it had been so long. He assured me he would follow up. Lon story short, I picked the camper up nearly 4 weeks after dropping off and They stated that the Hot water issue had been resolved. We towed the camper back to site 80 miles away and found that the Hot Water heater was still not working, Gas would not stay on. Then we tried to turn on the water via water pump with no water. After inspecting the filter for water pump, we pulled out gobs of trash and the reservoir for the filter was completely clogged. Upon trying to fix the issue ourselves and cleaning the filter, the pressure blew the water line off of the toilet. I called Blane several times and asked him about why this had not been services. He stated that they probably hooked up to City Water and everything was fine and that service agreement did not cover water pump. This travel trailer is less than one year old. I told him I would meet Technician or even pick up technician to bring to camper to make things right. He said he could not have technician go to camper. This means that I would have to take off another vacation day, drive 160 miles round trip and bring the camper back to Dixie RV in Breaux Bridge for who knows how long. I am going to file a complaint with Jayco corporate office through Grievance board and also with BBB. They do not back up their sales and God help you if you use the Services department.

unethical behaviour
In October of this year, we purchased a 2017 Landmark Orlando from Camping World of Dothan, AL. We had previously shopped at Dixie RV in Defuniak Springs, FL. Our purchase decision was made because we were getting a much better deal from Camping World. We had given Dixie RV a chance to match the price at Camping World but they chose not to.
On our first trip, our RV started leaking and had several other things wrong. We called the manufacturer who told us to take it to Dixie RV to be serviced.
We dropped the RV off on Monday October 30th and they called us on Thursday November 2nd and told us to pick up our RV. Since we did not buy it from them, they were not going to do warranty work on the unit.
Since they sell Landmark trailers at this location it seems unethical for them to refuse to fix a unit no matter where it was purchased. It is still a Landmark product and they will be paid by the manufacturer for the repairs.
I am amazed that they are able to treat customers this way and not be held accountable.
Sincerely,
Connie Dotterer
They actually might not be reimbursed by the manufacturer for repairs for a product they did not sell. Honestly most companies would not repair a product that was purchased elsewhere, even if it was carried/sold by them.
dixie rv superstore hammond
My lasting memory with Dixie RV.
To say disappointed would be an under statement. This is a beautiful store with lots to choices. Went in knowing very little about motor homes. Salesman was very helpful and informative. Spent a lot of time with us. Unit we like was sold before we were able to educate our self on the unit. About 6 weeks later the salesman called and said he had a similar unit in, if we would like to see it. This is a local store for us. We looked at other units, but truthfully liked having a local dealer and really wanted this to be a long time relationship.
Long story short. We place a offer on it after a bit of back and forth we can to an agreement. We agreed to there counter offer. As we were filling out paperwork. He can back in and said someone else had place a higher bid and they gave it to them! WHAT! We agreed to there counter offer. We had already made an agreement . Is the kind of business practice that goes on here? Freak one time happening ? That being said it was Saturday at 5pm and the management was no longer there. At least no one that wanted to deal with it.
The following week we called several times to speak to someone in charge. At this point to let management know what had happened. We had an agreement, that was pulled from us for $1000.00. Is this normal here? It that worth trashing a salesman full day of work and a customer . Well management was at a conference till Friday. Not sure if anyone was in charge in the meantime. No one that wanted to deal with a problem for sure.
After a few calls we got a name of whom we needed to talk to. Chad, We left several (3) messages for Chad. NO word from CHAD. Chad could not spend 5 minutes to even BS me and say sorry that happened I will check into it and make sure that does not happen again. NOPE NOTHING. This only leads me to believe this is regular practice here. That it is worth loosing a customer and screw over one salesman for another for a dollar amount. This kind of practice will catch up to them at some point. Kicker, A week later the unit became available again. Loan didn't go through? Changed there mind? Something unethical happened to them? Who knows. But I got that call. The unit was now available to me if I wanted it.
Well if CHAD had 5 minutes to do his job and listen to a potential customers concerns MAYBE, but if this is how they treat a POTENTIAL customer, it makes me very concerned on how my service would be AFTER a they have my money. The beautiful store and selection, is just that. A façade, Don't be blinded by the beauty. Again I really wanted this to be a long time relationship. I guess I can be thankful that I got to see the reality of there business practice before I got sucked in.
My worries are with the Management, the people that make the decisions. The people that are there to take charge and make the business the best it can be. A place to be proud to do business with. Well if this is the owners dream, Its time to find new management. Chad is NOT the best for your business. He could even pass the buck...
FYI UNIT IS STILL ON THE LOT.
ac units on 2017 grand design solitude 5th wheel
Of the 11 months since purchase of this unit is has now been in two of their shops for over 5 months for various warranty issues and mainly for a serious AC system failure to drop the inside temperature down below 79 degrees on 85 degree outside temperature days. First, it was a barrier in the front AC unit that was not installed at the factory, then it came untaped after installation at Dixie RV, then the rear AC unit was found to also not have the barrier installed at the factory. No remedy has been found and Grand Design says the units are operating properly.
There was also a poor alignment of one of the double awning windows on a slide out and the solution was to change it out to a totally different window style, now not matching the opposite window unit. Totally unacceptable service from such a large regional company.
refuses to repair damages inherited upon purchase
Bought a camper with $14k pre-existing water damage and they refuse to fix it. Insurance company says that the damage is "too old" to cover. had it mo I bought a 2015 Northtrail Camper by Heartland from the Dixie RV in Defuniak Springs in Florida. We were told that it was barely used because the "owner loved it so much that they turned it on for a larger 5th wheel camper." Discovered a leak in the shower and brought it to Dixie Service. They said that they would cover plugging the leak but not the $14, 000 of residual damage. They never disclosed water damage when we purchased it and our insurance adjuster said that the damage is old and extensive. It is so rusted and rotten that it is not advised to be used safely. Why are we responsible for inherited damage? Why would they sell us something unsafe and not viable for the intended use?

keystone premier bullet product complaint with dixie rv superstore
We purchase a new 2014 Premier Bullet coach from Dixie RV in Defuniak Springs, Florida. Their sales staff was very friendly and assured us that we could expect the finest repair work from their maintenance department but also told of this was the top-of-the-line coach and it is a well-constructed unit and expect the best quality .
After a few minor repairs as to be expected on a new coach we started having major problems. Our A/C quit completely doing a hot spell while camping in September. It was finally replaced after Dixie had it six weeks. They robbed a A/C unit from another coach after arguing with Keystone to send them parts for repair.
Next to break was the kitchen slide out. The motor and gearbox completely failed in my driveway and wouldn't fully retract. I had to call on a mobile repair company to dispatch their technician to my home in order to manually retract the slide out. Dixie replaced both motor and gearbox plus re-adjusted the slide out which took another three weeks for repairs. Less than ten months, the slide out broke again in my driveway. This time the motor/gearbox fell off the wall mounting bracket. We believed that they used the old screw holes and the unit worked it self from the bracket. My warranty had expired and I just paid Dixie $1155.60 to do a re-adjustment . Thanks goodness the motor/gearbox was good this time or the bill would be more.
The fiberglass cap began fainting almost from the time we bought the coach. After lodging complaints Keystone agree to have it repainted. This was another two weeks without my camping partner. I forgot to mention one of the windows leaked and we were getting water in the coach. It was replaced after they discovered a large crack but it took two attempts from Dixie before the right size window arrived. After two weeks of down time.
So less than twenty months, I've had this "Premier" under maintenance and had to cancel over six scheduled camping trips. I have had numerous phone calls and email not returned from Dixie RV and Keystone. Somehow to the credit of the maintenance department the repairs get done but not without difficulty and a lack of communication from both Dixie RV and Keystone.
The salesman still remembers to call me on my birthday and they attempt to sale me another unit each time I have to return this top-of-the-line coach for repairs. I wouldn't recommend dealing with either Dixie RV or Keystone. If you are looking for a RV please consider other sources if you are expecting a comfortable retirement experience.

service center scam
We had an insurance claim on our camper. Went to Dixie RV Superstore in Defuniak Springs Florida. We got an estimate from Tim (assistant service manager) of $7501.57. Our insurance company negotiated a lower labor rate and brought the total price down to $6792.91 ($6692.91 was paid by the insurance company). They did this by lowering the labor rate to...
Read full review of Dixie RV SuperStoresimproper hitch installation
Dixie RV installed a PullRIte 24K Super Glide hitch on my truck to pull a new 5th wheel Toy Hauler I purchased from them. Rather than attaching the Capture Plate (required by PullRite for safe operation), they WELDED a Sidewinder Universal Wedge to the pin box. The weld and wedge broke the first day of towing, destroying the hitch, damaging my truck, stranding us in Mississippi, and ruining our vacation. Then they continued to allow us to pull the trailer with this incorrect set up, further jeopardizing my family and other motorists. I met with the sales manager and service manager at Dixie RV in Florida, and they continue to deny that the installation was incorrect! I was told to write the company president to request my refund. After I requested the refund, the Director of fixed operations in Hammond, LA called to further incriminate the business. He claims this was a safe installation that they have done thousands of times! Funny how that is their stance when it directly violates the manufacturers installation instructions, doesn't require welding, and he hasn't even seen the trailer! This company is beyond belief in their disregard for customer safety and proper installation of towing equipment. If you want safe, correct, reliable towing installation, Dixie RV superstores is not the place for you!
service
This is the 3rd time we have taken our TT in. First, it was for some minor repairs and warranty work that needed to be done after we bought it. They kept it a month. They told us they would look at it the Monday after we took it back on Saturday. They didn't even look at it for 9 days. Then supposedly we had to wait for the part. Bottom line is they had it for 4 weeks. When we got it back, some of the repairs had not been done and some of the repairs that they had done had caused other electrical problems. We took it back for another week to repair what they messed up and fix what they didn't fix. We told them this time we HAD to have it back within a week for a camping trip. When we went to pick it up, the loose board on the slide out hadn't been touch. That was one of the original complaints. We stayed there while they fixed it this time. We took a trip to IN with it and found out the water heater wouldn't work on electric. When we returned, before even unhooking it again, we took it back. They admitted that the person that did it hot wired it directly so it burned the element out. So they fixed it temporarily and we had to make yet another appt to have it repaired which is a 7 hour job . We live 35 miles from this place. We have hooked it up and taken it down there 3 times now and still a 4th time is needed because of their screw ups. I called Hammond LA, the corporate office and they haven't returned my phone call so apparently this isn't just this branch, it is the whole dealership. They sure jumped through hoops to make the sale but getting service after the sale is like getting teeth pulled. I guess we should have thought something wasn't right when they wouldn't give us the deals advertised on the ad when we went to purchase it. They had some sort of excuse why they couldn't.
The service department at Dixie is the worst buying experience ever! In my opinion this service department is very incompetent and items suppose to be fixed is not. What a vicious cycle with this group. If you are considering purchasing a RV from these people watch out as there is no service after the sale! Worse buying decision I have ever made. STAY AWAY
I wouldn't go there, I called them this spring to ask them if they had a part for my RV. They told me the parts man was out to lunch and they would have him call me back when he returned, he never called back. So, I drove down to Mary Esther and found the part at an RV parts place there. If they don't have enough sense to return a phone call then I definitely would't trust them to work on my RV.
