fraud
I am not a subscriber, but somehow got all kinds of emails "matching" me to different people. Even a "photo nudge" They matched my friend with a woman, my friend was in a committed realtionship. I hope that woman got her money back.

terrible experience
I tried Eharmony for 6 month then let it expire. They kept sending me offers that kept getting cheaper so after few months of this I signed up for additional 3 months. I decided I would contact anyone with a picture. And I also was in contact with people out of state. And my criteria was very liberal (this time) to see if I would receive any communications. I made it to communication with 2 both were over a 4 hour drive to meet. (we never met) I "started communication" with all just for the heck of it. Shortly after signing up a friend told me of plenty of fish. com . It a free dating site. I had more responses in 2 weeks than my entire membership with Eh. So being a little bitter with how much money I gave to them I attempted to put my profile my expiration date (written out in words, not red flag) it red flagged and I am offically ban from Eharmony for violating my agreement with them. I did find it funny how all the same guys were still on Eh my second time around.

Same people on all the same dating sites. I tried their site as well...we are all just looking for someone special. Same matches I found on other less expensive or free sites. NO WAY could I have been a perfect match to those same men. Nothing in common! Spent to much money for very few close matches. If you are willing to go anywhere for love...maybe a chance. Otherwise save you money!
auto-renewal of subscription set to on
Apparently the auto-renewal option for your subscription has a default setting of ON, unless you change it to OFF. I learned this when, at the end of my 3-month subscription, I got an email informing me that eHarmony had automatically renewed my subscription and charged my account for the 3-month rate ($107). I never got any notices via email, and the only indication on my eHarmony page was a button to "Renew Subscription". I assumed that if I didn't take any action the subscription would simply expire. This is totally deceptive and very poor customer service.
When I called eHarmony customer service, the agent indicated that the confirmation page/email you receive when first sign up says that the auto-renewal option is set to ON, and that the company could not refund the charge. I expressed my disatisfaction with this and the agent then said she could refund $67 and have my sub end after one month. I told her that I was still not satisfied, that the way eHarmony handled the billing was very deceptive, and that I was considering contacting the Better Business Bureau or other consumer affairs organization to complain. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. The agent put me on hold, then came back and said she could give me a full refund.

I have the same problem and cannot get a refund! Signed up for 3 months, they charged 3 months. 4 months later they start charging my card again! They said I signed up for 6 months which I didn't and said I was on auto renewal which I had not idea but wouldn't they keep charging my card 6 months in a row? I feel like I was duped! Is it me or is it a very misleading website? Not very clear that it is auto renewal or the subscription period.
Congratulations for getting your full refund, even if it was all your fault that you didn't read the terms and conditions or read the screens and emails during the subscription purchasing process. Congrats!
Next time, "automatic" means "automatic, " not "You can expect us to send you an email before we do it." Does your automatic thermostat send you an email before it turns the heat on?
lies, lies, lies
New to i-net/computer I decided to click on ad for EHarmony dating to see what was up. Offered 7 free days. called to cxl and was given the run around and charged over $100.00. They did not do or live up to their advertisement. Had others tell me the same happened to them. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY CC INFO AND FREE IS A LIE. Other companies also have these practices. READ EVERYTHING AND DON'T BUY THE LIES. Many hours of calling and letter writing yeilded in "WE GOT YOU". THERE IS NO FREE THINGS.

到哪里去投诉他们?我刚付完费就关闭我的账户和资料
scam
I Joined e-harmony twice, both times I was matched up with people out of the distance I requested. Also a large age difference. The main complaint is not being able to contact anyone at e-harmony to warn them of a man who was trying to scam money from me saying he was stranded in the UK and needed me to send him 2, 500 because he lost his wallet with important papers in them. This man and I only e-mailed each never met or talked on the telephone. Felt I needed to report this but could not find a way to reach anyone at e-harmony.

unauthorized renewal
I opened my August statement to find I too was charged a $140 renewal. When I called to complain, they offered a $91 refund and a 'reduced' monthly fee. When I explained that I NEVER authorized auto renewal, and I closed my account in April, they had the nerve to question what I did - because according to them, I only stopped receiving matches. BS! They do not send emails (this is why), nor do they notify of renewals - trust me, I would have been all over this one.
Suggestion to those to run into this:
1. Dispute the charge with your bank, every bank has a form you can complete. If you are lucky to have emails or screen shots, send those along.
2. File a complaint on the BBB and through Consumer Affairs
3. Look into getting legal consultation
I'm trying to see if there is enough their to warrant a class action suit against this company. We all work hard for our money, and no one has a right to steel what they are not authorized to steel.

This same thing happened to me! There was a button saying "Renew my membership" and I didn't want to, so I didn't press it. Little did I know it would renew it anyway! Charging me over3 times as much!
false advertising
Compatibilty? Right! I am Asian looking for Caucasian women and they tell me I am only compatible with Asian women (bunch of racists!).
I decide to get them a second chance when they send me an email ad to come back. I did within 2 hours of when the ad expired on Pacific Daylight Time. When I click the link and the website said the offered expired. I said to myself, "What!". They must have Eastern Daylight Time servers as I had a full two hours. Bunch of liars!
I complained to the BBB about it but eHarmony denies it. All of sudden my email account was bombarded with over 800 junk email about eHarmony three years after my complaint.
Never again will I trust any dating web company for all of them can't make any compatibility unless they hired actors for their comercials.
I like flied lice.
beware
Beware of E-harmony! My debit card number was stolen and the thief used it to open an account with E-harmony. My bank immediately closed the card and told me to just contact E-harmony and tell them that the card number was used illegally and to close the account and refund the money back into the account. The thief had bought services from a couple of other companies and they were very helpful in doing this. In the first place, it took me forever to even find a phone number for E-harmony. The only way I could find it was from a blog of another unhappy customer. When I was finally able to reach their customer service, they told me that there was no way they would cancel the account even though it was used with a stolen card number. When I asked for the name and email address of the person that opened the account with my card, they told me they could not give me that information because they had to protect the identity of the thief! What about my rights? I am out $134.99 while someone is enjoying their E-harmony services and is also being protected by them. I am a grandmother trying to put kids through college. E-harmony was absolutely NO help at all - in fact they sided with the thief - they got their money - that's all they cared about. Didn't care where the money came from. BEWARE!

deceptive practices and laughable customer service
I have had an ongoing problem with eHarmony for the last two years. I signed up for a six month period. I tried for the first three months to use the system, and never once talked to anyone. I then only went on the sight once a week and still no progress. I tried to get in a couple of times to the sight and it wouldn't let me, so I assumed they cancelled my subscription. Well I was quite surprised to find out they were still billing me through a billing company. I couldn't find their number so after searching for a day, I found a number, and called. I talked to a customer service person in Kentucky or Tennessee, only to find out the only way I could stop this billing( for service I wasn't getting) was to write a letter to someone in Pasedena, Callifronia. The customer service person even acknowleged that I did not use this service, and she couldn't even access my account at first. I was sent no e-mail stating that they were going to continue my subscription. I sent a letter and no response. I didn't hear anything and assumed everything was resolved, not a chance. I continued to be billed by a company called Bill Me Later, and told them I would not pay for something I did not receive. I signed up and paid for the six months. I tried talking to eHarmony after spending a whole day on the phone and a promise of an e-mail with no response, and being told they would have the situation taken care of. Now this Bill Me Later company has turned me in to a collection agency. I have never not paid a bill in my life, but I will not be co-erced into paying for something I did not received, had trouble cancelling, and lied to at ever point! I 've written letters, tried talking to customer service, and am now being harrsassed because of eHarmony. Please do not use their sight, it takes advantage of lonely people, and steals their hard earned money!

We regret to hear that Cherie had a negative experience with our Customer Care team. We take this concern very seriously and will follow up with her to ensure that her billing issues are addressed promptly.

After a lot of thought, I decided to join EHarmony for 3 months. What a RIP OFF! Don't do it! The few "matches" I received were obviously the free "potential customers" who can sign up FREE and get matched. But none of them can post pictures - unless they pay to join. So, when you ask for a photo in the very beginning, they never respond. When I complained to EHarmony, they told me to "be patient." When I complained again that I had not even received any matches in the last several weeks, I was told - this is unbelievable - that I had to "set aside an hour" to fill out yet another stupid questionnaire! Talk about passing the buck. They said via email, that unless I filled out another questionnaire, they would NOT send me any more matches! Just an arbitrary decision some idiot answering emails decided to do. I think that is what's called breach of contract - duh.
Obviously, they send "matches" to all the freebies who did not pay to join, just to hook them in and get them to join. Meanwhile, the paying customers don't get any matches.
Anyway, they are a huge rip-off company and I wish I had just googled them for complaints before I paid them. BEWARE. Do not join this ripoff company.

Eharmony must be stopped!
I agree, the same thing happened to me except I caught on after the fist few days of joining up for the 3-month subscription. Their loop-hole was that i informed them of my discontent on the 4th day and not the 3rd day after my subscription. I have gone back and forth with eharmony requesting that they discontinue my services (i viewed it for only 2 days!). I agreed to forfeit my first paid month (though only used for 2 days) They refused to cancel my account, told me that I had to pay for the full subscription and now I'm going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This people are crooks! Have a lot of money to pay for advertising and have no business ethics! Buyers Beware! These pleople are scammers!
I agree, I wanted to just use it for one month, but they renew it without my permission. So, I am stuck with another month. They send you many profile matches when you are not a paid member. Once you pay, the numbers get smaller with each day. Now I get maybe two a week. Plus, 90% do not match what I am looking for, not to mention that eHarmony seems to have the least attractive people on the web. I have read that most of the matches are fake or no longer members. That explains why some never respond or look at your profile. I have found on other sites that there are scammers on eHarmony, so for eHarmony to say they are safer than other dating sites is not true. I met one person from eHarmony, and needless to say, he lied on his profile about himself. He had qualities that were basically disgusting, let alone he looked ten years older than his stated age on that site. I notify eHarmony of the situation, and the bad experience I had dating this person. They did nothing. Then I cancelled my membership. Once I did that, they notify me that they will deal with the match they sent me. The last email from them said that they had dealt with the problem. I felt that they should remove the match. So, I email them and asked them what they actually did to deal with the problem. I explain to them that I felt safer dealing with the other dating sites that were a third of the cost of theirs and no one should have to experience what I have experience with this match. I have gotten no response. They did not cancel the member that was falsifying his profile and not looking for a long term relationship (which eHarmony boost that all members are serious about that); all they did was change his age on his profile.
EHarmony is a waste of money and a scam. The matches are worst than what you find on any other dating site. EHarmony is not worth even $10.00/month. Do not use this site.
scam, false profiles
I also believe this is a scam..I feel they make up their "compatibility ' matches.. How could it be..50 'matches' at least are sent..no pictures..from all different areas..when you request communication, there is no response ..no pix, not even a single word..nor do they even open their email?NOT ONE! To confirm my belief, Ialso have 3 other friends on this site..and they are having the same ( or even worse) results...It's been 3 months..and have had only 2contacts.Total scam I feel..maybe the BBB bureau or the state's Attorney Generals office need to be contacted..It is a scam and we should all look into this!

I've been on eHarmony at three different times over the last several years. I cancelled early a few months ago, because I also found 99 percent of matches never respond, and the few that do almost always disappear when it's time for Open Communciation. I did meet a few guys in person, but wasn't attracted to them. Not something I'm proud of; they did seem like decent guys.
eHarmony kept matching me even though I cancelled. One of the matches seemed promising, so I re-joined because of him. Got a special rate, with choice of 3, 6, or 12 months. I foolishly chose 12 months for $179.70.
The promising match responded only during business hours on weekdays, and - big surprise - disappeard at the Open Communication stage. These people are probably lying about themselves, that's why they have to disappear. And this guy was either not serious enough about finding someone to invest own personal time on it, or wasn't single and unattached. Either way, not a good match and shouldn't be on eHarmony. There are plenty of other sites people who aren't looking for anything serious can use - including impulsive people looking for immediate hookups on Craigslist!
I called eHarmony and requested cancellation and a full refund, or at least to shorten my membership to the 3-month option, and a partial refund. They refused.
I called AMEX today and explained the situation. They are putting a permanent credit on my account and charging it against eHarmony.
I agree. I have met three people. I managed to get to stage 3 of communication and then no response for days. I'm wondering if I'll actually get to "open communication." There is a load of loops one has to jump through and the questions you end up sending your matches are ridiculous. For example, must-haves and can't haves. What kind of idiot would want dishonesty or no chemistry. Duh.
I got myself out before those pranksters renew my subscription. I'm hot and I'm going out with my friends...
be careful giving eharmony as a gift!
Be careful giving eharmony as a gift! Eharmony will screw you later by continuing to charge you…the gift-giver! It happened to us…. We called them to resolve it – explaining to them that it is illegal to charge our card on a continuing basis without our approval. They have every right to contact the account holder – and attempt to make arrangements for a continuing subscription – but it is purely illegal to allow the gift recipient to authorize our card to continue to be charged. And you know what they said? “we have to have the gift recipient’s approval to not charge your card” what? It is not the gift recipients card! This is criminal, scammy, and illegal. Thankfully our gift recipient called “for us” to “authorize” the discontinuation of charges on our card! Be careful – these people are scammy!

I'm in the same boat as I supposedly paid for a friend's subscription. I was appalled when they kept billing me even after he terminated his account! As a result, I lost all faith in eharmony and think of it as nothing more than a scam! Believe it or not, when I covered my friend for that month, he really didn't meet anybody worthwhile anyway--talk about not getting your money's worth!
I used this system, but I can't say I had any luck with it. I was in a scam rather than a relationship!
I sent an email to their customer service department stating what was up, and they told me they needed to hear from my friend before they could proceed any further. Even he was appalled at their customer service or lack thereof. After such mistreatment, I no longer recommend their service, since it's not if they take advantage of you...It's WHEN they take advantage of you!
P.S. Did you get a refund from them or did they simply end the unnecessary billing cycle?
unauthorized billing
I signed up for eharmony.com in October when they were running a special, 3 months for $59, what a deal! Everytime I received a match there was no picture attached! I am not superficial at all, but you have to know what a person looks like to know if you are interested in meeting them! I found no one on the site at all! In January I was checking my credit card statements for income tax purposes and I saw a charge from eharmony.com in December for $96! I called and they said it was an auto renuwell! I was so shocked to say the least! I could not believe it, I never agreed to that! They refused to refund my money and there was nothing else they could do for me! This website has to be the biggest waste of time, I would have had more luck meeting someone at a bar than meeting them there! I would never ever, recommend this to anyone! What a joke!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I received an email from this company and when I tried to register the site kept telling me I had an invalid email address, but I used the same email address to register on this site. I guess if you are not will to pay the $60 per month charge all of the free communication in their advertisement they claim to give is not really FREE.
I had that happen to me as well.
Like I said, all they care about is 'taking your hard-earned money' rather than finding you that special someone. Sad but true :(
looks are not a matching factor.
eHarmony claims to factor appearance into its matching process. Nothing could be further from the truth. Individuals usually have a ballpark conception of their own appearance. I am an attractive person, with a physically fit physique and a decent sense for style. However, based on the majority of matches sent to me by eHarmony you would think I have a penchant for people with poor grooming skills and obese body types. Close to 50% of the matches are non-paying members and I would assess the number of attractive people (8+/10) as about 1 in 100. The only thing eHarmony does well is advertise. After a few weeks with the service you may fear that you appear "desperate" based on the quality of the "matches" they place you with. Add their terrible system to their premium fees and you have, perhaps, the worst value in online dating. Steer-clear, believe me.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Confidence is one thing, superiority and neglecting a person from physical appearance is another. Perhaps there is more reason in why *you* must search the internet.
fraud and scam
I enrolled in e-harmony at the suggestion of a friend, who was happy with the service at the time.
After looking at over 100 'matches', I did not find even one individual whom I would consider meeting at a Starbucks for a cup of coffee! I asked for a refund, and was told that I 'wasn't trying to find my mate'. I replied that I already had a full-time job, and that weeding out these losers took too much time. I was told to consider my 'search' as a second job!
Finally, both my friend and I began to get 'matches' that were absolutely creepy men, obviously looking for victims. Photos of a couple with the woman's eyes scratched out, comments about needing 'control' in relationships, anger towards women, and how these men had been 'betrayed' many, many times, and that they were only living to find their 'true love'. And on and on...
I again asked for a refund, stating the above, and was told that I really needed to 'try harder' to find my 'soul mate'. E-harmony stated that it 'respected the privacy' of the individuals mentioned above, but they 'would investigate', if I would tell them who they were. At that point, I told them they were scam artists, and that for my own safety, I was shutting down my site with them. However, they continue to bill me.
Stay away from e-harmony. You're better off at the local singles bar.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I enrolled and paid my money. Then after submitting answers to all the questions I never heard a word from e- harmony. I did receive a link to website to look for a match. E-Harmony says plainly that they will match you with compatible people ( What a joke) If you have nothing but time you can scan through all their 'matches'. Even then the ones they present are hundreds of miles from you. Can 't even be sure someone receives your message as not response is ever received. SAVE your money. There are other websites that actually do send you a list of possible matches unlike E-Harmony who never does. So I don't know what E-Harmony does other than collect money from unsuspecting people. You certainly won't get anything for your money.
like i said it may be your values and expectations, i'm not going to say that yahoo or match.com are any better but it may be wht you're putting down. i do agree cause i had a few dates and yes i didn't find casanova but i was sucessful in dates. it was just that some guys pput down false information. like serious things health wise, if they have fellons. etc.these are bad charateristics but thats with any site. i wasn't careful in screening them but everyone has thier "weeds" in a flower bed.so keep being optomistic.. im rooting for you i know yo could find someone
I was a member for 6 months. I am attractive, educated, financially solvent and well traveled. I n 6 months all they could match me with was a hospital transport worker with our only commonality being that we both worked in hospitals. Sick site with lots of really sad men. STAY AWAY.
I have been a Member of e-harmony for over a year now with NO luck at all .First there were very few member even near my area and the one's that were, were looking for Daddy;s for their kid's or were to old and ugly for anyone. I have been very dissatisfied with the service and it was good Money down the tubes.

Agreed! They matched me up with so many liars, predators and creeps! When I was receiving 30 calls a day from someone I'd spoken to once, they did nothing but tell me to file a police report against someone whose surname they wouldn't provide. After I canceled the account I kept getting emails stating that so-and-so wanted to meet me. If that was true, it means that they were representing me, and who knows how many other people, as members when we weren't. Luckily Yahoo had just gotten sued for the same thing and they stopped the nonsense once I threatened legal action. Creeps!
terrible experience
I signed up for what I thought was just a 3 month subscription. Aftr using their program for about three weeks I decided that it just wasn't working like they say it should. I then went to cancel my subscription and had a very hard time finding a number to call to do so. I had to go on Google to actually find the number.
I then called and talk to them and and they told me that I could cancel but that I signed up for a 1 year program and that they were going to charge me 2 more payments of $79.80 and that they could not cancel those payments.
I think that they are very deceptive in their way of doing business and I would not recommend them to anyone. They make things very hard to find because they don't want you to be able to cancel something that does not work very well.
Businesses like this are only out to take your money and provide as little information as possible for you to contact them and try to get your money back or cancel your account.
I hope that someone will do something about Eharmony ripping poeple off with their deceptive policies.

In March of 2007, I signed up with them. I emailed customer support if they had a free trial. They did, so I gave it a try. On the sixth day, I cancelled. They sent me a confirmation email 2 weeks later. All it said if I wanted to upgrade to a more expensive subscription.
When I got my credit card bill, they charged me $60. I emailed them back saying I cancelled. They told me since I was still active, they won't cancel my subscrption. I emailed them again telling them they have 24 hours to give me a refund or a month free or I was going to file a complaint with the BBB.
24 hours later, no response. Instead of contacting the BBB, I updated my profile bashing eharmony. Within an hour, I get a email saying I violated their agreement by putting contact information (email address or IM) or offensive language. I sent another email saying until they refund my money or give me a month free, what I wrote stays because the 2 dozen women they matched me with can read what I wrote.
The next day, I got 2 emails from them. One was letting me know they will give me a refund and deleting my profile. The second one was a receipt showing the refund. They honored it. And that was the last I heard from them.
So, there is a way to cancel and get a refund. You have to be aggressive with them.
unauthorized renewals
I signed up for a 6 month membership. Soon after signing up I stopped using the service and never signed onto the website (for personal reasons).
When the 6 months was over I assumed I would be finished. But I received a notice that they had sucked out another 6 month payment unknown to me and without my permission. After complaining to eharmony they refuse to refund the unauthorized withdrawal from my account.
In my opinion this is a blatant theft of money.

I've had exactly the same experience!
I signed up to Eharmony, in January 2009, and paid a one off yearly fee (£100 and odd something) and I know for a fact I didn't sign up for a monthly direct debit as i paid a yearly fee. By March 2009, I realised that the dating service was flawed and appeared to have very few members (in the UK), so I cancelled everything to do with them. It was becoming depressing logging in to see who I'd been matched up with.
On 8 March 2010, having totally forgotten the whole horrible experience I opened my credit card statement to see that Eharmony had taken £11.95 out of my account.
They said they would return my £11.95 in 7 to 10 days and gave me a confirmation number for the transaction, so hopefully that will be the end of it.
It took approximately 30 minutes of persistence and shouting to get my money back, something I really shouldn't have to do if a supposedly reputable company has stolen money from me.
This is how the phone conversation went:
Eharmony: How are you enjoying our service?
Me: I'm not, I don't use the service, but you've taken money out of my credit card account which I didn't authorise.
Eharmony: I'm sorry to hear that, I'll just look up your details. I notice that when you signed up and paid for your yearly subscription, there was a box at the top, that you could have unchecked to say you didn't want sign up for our automatic monthly renewal. You did not uncheck the box, therefore, we automatically took a one month renewal fee.
Me: But I didn't agree to that. I paid a yearly fee because I didn't want monthly renewals of any sort. I know for a fact I didn't want that. I can read and know how to use the internet, therefore I'd say the box was hidden away or designed to deliberately confuse or deceive the user.
Eharmony: We cannot refund you because you agreed to the monthly renewal via the check box.
Me: Can you go and speak to your supervisor because I'm not getting off the phone until I get my money back.
Eharmony: Okay, please hold. We can refund you half the amount, which is £5.92.
Me: Why? I want the full £11.95 back, it's about the principle.
Eharmony: We cannot do that, but we can offer you one month's free use of our service.
Me: I don't want the service, it's rubbish.
Eharmony: I'm sorry to hear that, perhaps you might meet the person you're looking for ...
Me: I am not getting off this phone until I get my £11.95. Furthermore, I notice there are many case of a similar nature on the internet, so this unauthorised access of funds appears to be some sort of scam. If you don't sort this out now, I will get my credit card company to do so for me.
Eharmony: Just give me a moment, I need to speak to my supervisor. We can give you a full refund of £11.95.
Me: Thank you.
Eharmony: The money will go back into your credit card account in 7 to 10 days, here's your confirmation number.
The end. That is the edited version of the conversation; it was littered with Eharmony telling me how wonderful the service was etc, and not focussing on getting me a refund. I had to keep asking her to focus on the reason why I'd called.
Anyway, I hope this transcript helps others get their money back.
Happy Dating too.

I had the same experience. I called their customer service after they automatically renewed my membership and asked them to cancel it and refund the money. They did refund the money and credited my credit card, however they offered me an extended period for a much lower price, with a 7-days cancellation policy. I called on the 6th day to cancel, but the customer service representative told me that I only had 3 days to cancel, instead of 7. I will now have to dispute this matter with "the office of the president" of eHarmony. They said that the calls to the customer service center are recorded and they will be able to verify whether I was verbally told about the 7-days cancellation policy (which I am sure I was because I asked the person twice about it and wrote it down). In the meantime I have called my credit card company and disputed the charges through them.
Also, be careful about the "automatic renewal" feature. It is totally invisible in your account settings. You have to click on "cancel subscription" and go through several screens before you get to the point where you can turn it off. If you make a wrong move you could cancel your subscription all together instantaneously which would not give you a refund.
Moreover, in the first call to the customer service center they told me that the number of matches I was receiving was basically zero because there is a setting that turns off matching which is not accessible from your account, but it's set by eharmony itself. This was set to OFF for my account (ie no matching), in spite of my account accessible setting "matching" field being ON. They overrode my settings based on who knows what obscure criteria.
I cannot confirm this, it was just what they told me (maybe the customer service person was mistaken), but wanted to share it, in case somebody else has the same experience.
expired matching
So being a little bitter with how much money I gave to them I attempted to put my profile my experation date (written out in words, not red flag) it red flagged and I am offically ban from Eharmony for violating my agreement with them. I did find it funny how all the same guys were still on Eh my second time around. See ya on plentyoffish.com (ps i am cute and funny and no i am not fat!lol)

I agree e/h is a total rip off. I am very attractive, slender, professional career etc. I continually get matched with 18-wheeler truck drivers with beer guts or construction workers who look like that "Get er done" comedian. Are they kidding...I have nothing compatible with these types. And try asking e/h what the 29 compatitble qualities are and no answer will be given. I've also found out you get matched with people whose subscriptions have expired. Also, I can go a month or longer with no matches ("Sorry our system has no compatible matches for you now")...then when a match does come along, that match tells me he's been on e/h for a long time...well then WHY wasn't I matched with him for the month I got no matches? Beware...what a coincidence the matches come toward the end of your subscription period so they hope you will renew. Oh, one last thing...one match answered the question "What do you do in your spare time" with the resp0nse, "I like to have deep discussions with my WIFE". (Note he did not say ex-wife!)
I joined E harmony with hope, expectation, and with the anticipation of meeting the love of my life! to sum it up quickly within three weeks I realized something was wrong.Men seldom wrote back, never looked at my profile, or got up to question 4 and you never heard from them again! Weird I thought so I started communication with everyone, including fat, homely men in their sixties. Still nothing, not a response or a look! I am 52, attractive and thin! I believe they are a fraud, make up profiles, put up old profiles, or God knows what! I feel the worst thing they are doing is causing people to loose hope! The customer puts their faith in God and the company...nothing! I would never join again and bad mouth them every chance I get! Found ok cupid, have met many great guys in 1 week! Grace, Missoula
scam
A total scam do not give them your money! Use free sites. Eharmony is a predatory services that takes advantage of people. For the money, they provide you nothing. They waste your time sending you matches that are non members/expired members (To draw them back into signing up) or people that are hundreds of miles away and 20 years older than you. This is just to sucker people out of their money. They will not allow you to cancel either and claim to not have my initial email to cancel within 24 hours. How convenient. Well they suckered me out of 200+ bucks, but I will give them their money worth by making sure everyone else knows what scammers they really are. Use plenty of fish!
They are a huge scam! if you take a break from meeting people on there and go inactive. The next thing you know, you get a bunch of matches.. But once you change you status to accept new matches once again, then number of matches drops off dramatically! -go figure- Not to mention, the matches you do get NEVER respond to your requests to communicate. eHarmony only wants your money. They don't give a [censored] about YOU, only your payments. I filed a several complaints with the BBB about them, And I saw that I was one of many who got scammed by them. From now on, I will only do the free dating sites or ask friends if they have single friends.
Dr. Warren, you are about as low as Bernie Madoff. I hope you wake up one morning with Chris Hansen from Dateline NBC knocking on your door.
Get a chargeback from your bank
I re-joined last week after cancelling my last subscription early. The promising match who lured me to re-join went through all the communication stages over a few days, always replying during business hours. When we reached Open Communication, he disappeared, which I found is typical.
I called eHarmony last night to ask for a refund of my $179.70, or to shorten the subscription and at least get a partial refund. They refused, and read a script that counseled me to re-take the personality profile, as it had been some time since I'd last taken it.
Fortunately, I paid with AMEX. I called them today and explained the situation. AMEX said they would give me a permanent credit, and charge it against eHarmony.
I too was scammed out of 185 bucks. They charged my card without my permission. When I attempted to get my money back, it has been quite difficult. I still have not been able to speak to anyone in person even though they claim to have 24hr/7days customer service. The matches they proveded were 10-20 years older than me . I did not see a single person I would be interested in.

About eHarmony
One of the things that sets eHarmony apart from other dating sites is its unique matching system. Instead of simply allowing users to browse through profiles and message each other, eHarmony uses a proprietary algorithm to match users based on a variety of factors, including personality traits, values, and interests. This means that users are more likely to find someone who is truly compatible with them, rather than just someone who looks good on paper.
Another key feature of eHarmony is its focus on long-term relationships. While other dating sites may be geared more towards casual hookups or short-term flings, eHarmony is designed to help users find lasting love. This is reflected in the site's comprehensive personality questionnaire, which takes around 30 minutes to complete and is designed to help users understand themselves better and find partners who share their values and goals.
In addition to its matching system and focus on long-term relationships, eHarmony also offers a range of other features to help users connect and communicate. These include a messaging system, a "What If?" feature that suggests potential matches based on users' preferences, and a mobile app that allows users to access the site on the go.
Overall, eHarmony is a well-established and highly respected dating site that is ideal for singles who are serious about finding a long-term partner. With its unique matching system, focus on compatibility, and range of features, eHarmony is a great choice for anyone who is looking for love online.

There was an erroneous charge on my bank statement. I contacted eharmony immediately. A representative told me she would pass this to their fraud department and I would receive a call that day. It is now day two and have not received a call or an email. Further developments to follow.
I have been on eHarmony off and on for 4 years. During that time, they matched me up with two women. They refused to refund the monthly fees for that, "Oh well, it was a mistake". In FOUR years, only one match resulted in a face to face meeting.
Recently I was married in May, and I emailed eHarmony to close my account. Did they? NO They continued to charge me until September when I had to throw a fit with them. Today, November 30th, I am still getting emails!
Sorry, but now my complaints to go the Attorney General of Montana and the BBB.
Please, please look elsewhere. I met far more nice guys on Yahoo personals than anything place else, but ultimately someone at work introduced me to the man I marriedl.
