I tried booking reservations to waco texas hotel, expedia site kept popping up to book trough their site, so I did & bought their cancellation insurance, at 1230 am to 1 am on jan11, 2024. Booked for 13 & 14th stay. On jan 12 less then 12 hours we got weather reports of severe winter weather warnings, we were driving to texas from louisiana. I called hotel to cancel and they were very nice, allowing the cancellation of rooms and said they could not give me a refund because I booked trough expedia, to call their customer care. After several attempts of disconnected numbers listed on the internet, I got trough to a virtual texting rep, so I tried explaining my situation with the weather, he said if the hotel would allow the cancellation, he could refund me the whole amount! But he kept me on the line for a very long time saying his attempts were not successful, although I had no problem with calling the front desk and got the ok from them. I was being jerked around, he wanted me to accept the partial refund of less then half what I payed, and would not address the fact I had payed for their cancellation insurance! I never accepted the partial refund agreement on the web page, but got only that partial payment made to paypal for my credit card, with a, i’m sorry letter sent to my email! I’m so upset an feel robbed! Also i’m a senior citizen and, I feel I was so taken advantage of by expedia! They are trying to give me $164.21 from a $428.99 booking that I could not use because of the freezing blizzard weather heading in my area. Never again will I ever use expedia again!
