Dear Complaint Team,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an issue I encountered with a recent booking through the Expedia platform.
On October 31st, I booked a reservation at "Sunset for the Palm resort" (Montego Bay, Jamaica) based on the information provided on Expedia's website. The price advertised for extended hours through the day was $2,005/person. The platform took me all the way to the checkout page where my credit card information were entered. An error invited me to try again, which 've done a few times and noticed the charge on my bank account. I called the customer line to get assistance, the agent noticed that same price ($2,005) advertised and together we went through the process again all the way to the checkout. However, upon further inquiry and after a few check out done, I was informed that the price changed to over $4,000/person.
The advertised price was done to attract people to their platform but not allowing them to book.
This discrepancy has caused a significant inconvenience, as I had relied on the accuracy of the information presented on the platform. I am disappointed by the false promotion of the resort, and it has impacted my travel plans adversely.
I kindly request that you investigate this matter and encourage Expedia to take the necessary steps to make it right based on the prejudice I've encountered.
I am questioning the integrity of Expedia, but trust that you will try your best to address this situation with them.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
Best regards,
Magalie
