Upon our arrival at the hostel at approximately 12pm, my sister and I were instructed by the receptionist to wait in the lobby while she retrieved our booking information. Subsequently, she informed us that check-in would commence at 4pm, which contradicted the 3pm check-in time stated in our booking.
After waiting for what felt like an extended period, I approached the reception to inquire about our check-in status. The receptionist then informed us that only one of us could be checked in, citing the reservation for only one person. Despite explaining that the booking was for two individuals and our willingness to share the room, the receptionist insisted on consulting her off-duty manager. However, after waiting for over an hour, we returned to seek clarification, only to be informed once again that the reservation was for one person. We expressed our exhaustion and requested either accommodation for both of us or a refund to seek alternative lodging. Despite our appeals, the receptionist continued to reiterate that the reservation was for one person only and mentioned that she would need to discuss the matter with her manager.
After another prolonged wait, we were finally informed that a refund had been processed and would be credited to my account within five days. Feeling cold and fatigued, we left the hostel shortly before 4pm, disheartened by the entire experience. Despite our desperation for rest, we were never given the option to pay for additional accommodation.
Subsequently, I reached out to the staff at Kama Central Park, who informed us that they processed the refund on February 24, 2024, and provided documentation to support this. However, the document showed a deduction of $41.55 from the refunded amount.
It has now been 16 days since this ordeal, and I am yet to receive any refund. In light of this distressing experience, I kindly request a refund of the amount paid for the reservation for the hostel.
