These people have a license to steal. They can sign for shipments which then “mysteriously disappear" and you will have no recourse.
My problem was with a location in New Orleans but apparently their corporate policy is to ignore customer complaints, so you will have the same problem anywhere. I used the Extra Space Storage at for over a year to receive and store products for my business. This location recently changed managers and the new manager of the site signed for a UPS shipment of two custom made rugs valued at $3, 000 which then disappeared.
UPS has the manager's signature on file as receiving the shipment, and he acknowledges signing for them but says he never saw them, he just signed for them without verifying they had actually been delivered. I asked him to review the tape from the security cameras and was told they didn't show the rugs or anyone taking them.
The response from Extra Space has been unbelievable. Rather than trying to help me, the first thing the site manager did was to show me the clause in the contract that says they are not responsible for anything they sign for. The insurance they sell is worthless – it also has a clause that excludes “mysterious disappearance". DOZENS of calls to their corporate office, regional manager and area manager have gone unanswered –NOT ONE RETURN CALL!
DO NOT use Extra Space Storage for anything. Their refusal to return my calls at every level, from regional manager all the way to the corporate office, proves they have no interest in you as a consumer. Someone stole $3, 000 worth of custom rugs from me.
The Extra Space Corporate office's policy of refusing to return phone calls to try to determine where the theft occurred gives their site managers a free hand to do whatever they want with the items you've stored there. There are lots of storage places; use anyone but Extra Space.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
These guyz are terrible, suffering with them for the past 2 months... and it's not resolved yet :(
I have also had dealings with the store in san Francisco / Folsom st branch. The exact same no call back issue and discriminatory behavior on part of managers there..
This company unprofessionally refuses to conduct business by email and does not inform you of this. They have a discriminatory policy of only informing tenants of payments and unit status through mobile phones and the Postal Service. So, for example, if you are in the military and deployed abroad your lifetime of belongings can be sold without your knowledge.
Awful customer service at the store. Made reservation online, which says 1st month free, but when got to the store was greeted with the worst way possible by store manager, and was charged 1st month of rent upfront. Deceitful propaganda.

We are able to save and syndicate updates, but it seems like Yext is pushing them to Yahoo but Yahoo is not publishing. They said two weeks maximum and it has been more than 2 weeks. Please advise.

I have an ongoing storage unit and I access it from time to time. Today around 3pm in need of putting some items in storage I could not find a cart anywhere. This pushed my weekly chores back and this isn't what I signed up for.
I have seen this too but a lot of the customer steal them and put them in their units. I have seen them myself as i have came their to put my items in. The managers now have to put poles on them or put trackers on them to see where they are. Most of the time people take them to other buildings to use them Sometimes you just have to walk a little bit and look like all the rest of us do.
Why is it locked? Its Christmas eve and my gifts are in my storage? (?
The office normally closes on Christmas eve early around 1pm for a half day to spend with their family but most sites gates are open from 6am -10pm everyday including holidays so you should have been able to get in.

Got flooded last month and last weekend all my stuff is ruined. Insurance won’t call me back. Extra space won’t help. I have no couch in my house I have no table at my house nothing. I’m sitting on the floor. Please somebody help
We put everything we own in there storage on spencer rd in Mo.they called and said we lost everything to flood last month.so we went up there.only was able to save a few things.everything was lost.Insurance has not contacted me back.what is up with this.
Update….Insurance got in touch everything taken great care of in just a few days.great service.and as for the storage shed.I had great service as far as the people there I always dealt with Ed and he is great.will do anything he can to help if you need it.
I dropped a few things off at my storage unit and was trapped inside the gate. The gate stopped working people couldn't get in or out when I went in to ask the person working at the desk how long it would be . He wouldn't look at me and barely responded to me. I just figured out why it's so cheap 10/7/22
If I signed up for a two year storage agreement, then how can my price for storage go up after being in my unit after only one month!?!?
I called the facility to inquire. He told me that he has no control over rate changes and carries no knowledge of when a rate change will occur.
I don't know about everyone else... But I HAVE A MONTHLY BUDGET! When I asked how often a rate change will occur and when the last one was. I feel like I need to be prepared for another rate hike if this is a common occurrence. I then asked...stated... that if mine went up, don't they all go up? Seems only fair.
He didn't know how to answer that question and after stuttering and stammering exclaimed again that he's not in control of rate changes.
Seems to me like a bait and switch type organization. They lure you in with a low fee and then raise it whenever they feel like it. After all... It's a month to month lease as I was told 3x.

Raised price with no notice. Signed lease states original amount with nothing about possible price increases.

I've been with this company for only about 6 months and the only weird that describes then is evil. An example, my rent was 133, then they raised it to 233 after only one month! It's this even legal? It can't be! Also their rules state they prorate if you move mid month, but it's been 3 months and still no refund! What can i do?

My rate just doubled after 3 months. the initial rate was not a promotional. This is wrong.
3 months and the rent just doubled. When I signed the contract I asked if the rent would stay the same for a year or so. Oh Yeah was the answer. 144 bucks to 275 bucks a month. Rotten company.
Price has doubled in 6 months and with a weird all of a sudden new company name. Bait and Switch class action lawsuit is waiting and ready for the Huntsville Alabama locations. Please paying double for some nonsense insurance.
