News Flash for Drug addict jobs... Rural towns... South Carolina... just because these dollar stores hire low pay individuals does not mean they should continue to hire low class citizens. Is everyone in these stores addicted to something illegal? Is there no mandatory drug testing? Is this how they can continue to pay people such low wage... Feeding off of the local poverty stricken that have no aspirations? What a good business model! Or maybe you just realized that paying them more allows more drug use that might leave them incapacitated to work frequently. Either way, Too many pot heads and meth heads work in your stores. I know because they all try to hit me up for money until payday for their next FIX.

I was in the Dollarama in Middleton Nova Scotia on Friday just before October 30, 2015 to buy Halloween make-up and decorations. After choosing the items I wanted to buy I waited while the cashier tried to sort out a problem with the lady in line in front of me as the cash register was not working. The young clerk at the register ended up calling a superior who also could not get the cash register to work no matter what was tried. By that time a line up of about five people had formed. The lady in the more superior position called someone else on her cell phone who was able to give instructions during some previous mishap(s), that person was not answering the phone. I asked (more than once) if they would take cash, the superior employee said that they could not because they would have to write it down in a journal and they could not do that. I then asked if I could leave the items I wanted to buy with them and then come back later to purchase them (there was only one item left of a couple of the things I wanted to buy and I didn't want them to end up being purchased by someone else). She said they could do that and she took the items and placed them behind the counter. I had no idea how long it would take them to fix the cash register but my feeling was it was going to take awhile. I went on my way and did other shopping etc.. I returned approximately 2 hours later, the cash register was working, I stood at the counter in order to purchase the items that were being stored and was told that "we put them back, you will have to go and find them", I said "you put them back?" and was told that yes they put them back... she said I had taken two hours and they needed the room behind the counter for supplies that had come in. Other than one decoration that was made to hang on a tree but still not that large and made of cloth material, the rest of the items were very small (Halloween make-up). I was annoyed at this but carried on my way to find the items I had been going to purchase, I did find all the items except one which was a specific kind of make-up that there had been only one left of, that item was gone, purchased by someone else. That is when I became irate and just as the superior was coming up the isle, I said to her that now the item was gone, that there had only been one and they had agreed to hold the items, I said I would return to buy them and I did return yet they had put them back. She responded by being (again) very snippy and saying that the manager had come in and needed room to put the supplies and told them to put the items they were storing for me back on the shelves. I don't necessarily believe that this was said to them but how am I to know. My items did not take up very much room behind the counter and what kind of customer consideration is that anyway? If their cash register had not been working with no apparent way for them to fix it at the time then I would have been able to purchase my items at the time, I did not get irate about that at all but I did about how I was treated when I returned to the store. All this superior employee did was talk down to me and be rude and dismissive, she said 'you can't please everyone" well I am not everyone and it was largely HER attitude that was causing me annoyance. She said I could go to the Pharmasave across the street and find the same (missing) item at similar cost, I did go across the street and found no such item. As I don't have a vehicle, I take the bus and it is a relatively small town I didn't have any other choices left. I did say before leaving that I think from now on I will go to another store like the Dollarama is Greenwood and the younger employee responded by saying 'the store in Greenwood is..." I left before she finished her sentence, perhaps the store in Greenwood is run by the same people? Needless to say I will not return to the Dollarama in Middleton ever again but I DO want the bosses of the chain to know that they have a particularly RUDE employee (whatever position she holds) in the Middleton Dollarama. All they had to do was to hold my items until I got back LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD.
I want to correct my first sentence in that it was the Dollar Store in Middleton and not Dollarama.

well family dollars has done it to me again by sending someone to talk to me unexceptly .they sent this women name farah to talk to me with another women that works under her.she did nothing the whole time but ask me questions over and over in 44-5 different ways.the lady i see for therapy said it was illegal and went against my rights as being disable.so i am going to file another complaint against her and what she called me after i left the office which was stupid, and ignorent. i had my listening device on were you can be in one room and me in another and i can hear your whole conversation so i was, nt as dum as she made me out to be.the water has got to hot for Jackie and she is stepping down as district manger but she still will be held acountable for threating me and my job.you blocked my money card this happened right after Farah came.its has been 5 days and the EOC, and the LABOR BOARD said for ever day i go without my money that i am supposed to get paid or farther charges will be brought against you

Now they have locked my payment card so I can, t gey what little money I made last week. They also gave me an extra day next week but all that was is to see if I am still filing my complaints. The next complaint is going to be against farah on the way she had that meeting sat up, ignoring the real problems but I knew in advance she was coming so I kept my mini tape recorder going the whole time. You have had more than 5 people call you out on the way you question them you play mind games you ask a person a question one way the then you repeat the same question 2 - 3 other ways to confuse a person. My therapist said thats what you was doing just that and you should not be playing with a delicate mind. It was just a month ago that I loss all my memory and still don, t have all of it yet. So I can file a suit against farah now on those grounds my doctor said I could after the way you was questioning me. Plus one more that the labor board I could file a law suit against family dollar from the top to my district133 for blocking my funds on my pay card then canceling it

sense i strated making my complaints from the top to the bottom either won, t talk to me, answer my phone calls, won, t even tell me when i work have to here it from a snitch.how can anybody live off no hours of work, to come back to work after major surgery.it can, t be done.if they can make them clean up there storage room they could have been done got back in touch with me.when i got my schedule for the week i had 1 day.but they call themselves feeling sorry for me and had her to change from 1 day to 2 days which will still only give me 4 hours.i am not the one who needs pitty worry about yourselves from the top to the bottom

cold foods
When the truck comes in with all the cold foods it is said that you have at least 15 minutes to get it all put upbut i went to this store this morning 185 is its number the cold foods sat for more than a hour before the manger put them up all of those items was suppose to be discarded or taken back but no she put them out anyway i know because i work at a different family dollar store.If she had not been so pre occupid she might have got it out but she was following some young man all around the store as if she exspected him to steal something
asst. manager used customer credit card and purchased items
I went to family dollar yesterday October 11th 2015. I purchased a Swiss ice tea and got 50.00 cash back at 4:34 pm. I dropped my card in the store, the asst manager waited until 4 hours had gone pass to use my card to purchase some things. I went back looking for my card he was acting suspicious about the entire thing. I asked him to run back the cameras. He was going to until I asked him did he mind me calling the cops, he asked me please not to call the cops, if he gave me the money would I just leave the store. The cop came nothing was settled. I received my card back but he put on gloves when my card was returned to me. He admitted to using my card this morning to the store manager.

As I entered Family Dollar yesterday 10/11/15 I heard loud laughter, profanity and personal information. I continued to shop (I thought it was other customers). However, I discovered the noise I heard was coming from the all black staff of Family Dollar. As I proceeded I was waited on by a young black man and I remarked to him “you guys need to be more professional.” He just ignored the remark. He stated “thank you ma’am” and I reply “you’re welcome sir.” Now I’m not sure he wasn’t trying to refer that I was too old in which I’m not, just in my late thirties. Anyway, he didn’t seem to be too concerned. As difficult as it is for young blacks to find employment I was more than concerned and out raged. I also heard several customers state they will look elsewhere to accommodate their needs. Possibly another establishment. The disheartening fact of this is it is a recurring happing at this store. I hope someone will check out this matter soon.
clerk attitude and lack of assistance
During my visit to Family Dollar today, I ask the clerks to help me locate the plastic spray bottles. After much consideration, the clerk at the register said they were by the yellow pole. There are several yellow poles in the large store. Most stores this size have isle numbers. The other clerk that had been standing behind the counter 30 plus minutes refuse to answer me the first time when I ask her to tell me what the register clerk stated. After asking if she found out where the bottles were she replied to me with "huh" instead of "ma'am." In addition to this attitude, there were 12 customers in line waiting for check-out. The lady with Multiple Sclerosis ask if she would open the other register. She said, "No." Apparently, she had no responsibilities at the time. It appeared that she had a problem with my skin color. I will shop at another store in Talladega or out of town.

The register rings up the Bar S smoked sausage at the cost of $5.50 per unit price but the shelf clearly reads $5.00. I told the clerk that they have not changed the cost on the shelf and I didn't want to pay $5.50. She didn't ask her manager for a cost override either. They knew I was there last week and they don't care about the consumer protection act...

Shopping in this store is virtually impossible due to the extreme heat in the store. The store workers are exhausted from the heat and the customers don't stay long in the store because it is just so uncomfortable to try and shop. What is wrong? Is this company so cheap that they can't afford air conditioning for the workers and the customers. This is abuse of the workers. The conditions are horrible. They are running fans behind the counter but it doesn't cool anything and it doesn't help the customer to be comfortable enough to shop in the store. What is wrong? The employees are all doing their best to make a terrible situation better but there is nothing more they can do. They are left helpless by a management that obviously just doesn't care about the customer or the employees that work for them. We are told by the employees that there is some part they have been waiting on for over a couple of months to fix the air. So what is the hold up? Nothing takes that long. One of the employees in the store has asthma and nothing has been done to accommodate her while this part is taking so long to fix the air conditioning. If this is the way that Family Dollar runs their business and treats their employees, I am not going back. It is very hot here, where I live and no one should have to work or shop under these conditions when they don't have to. This is both shameful and ridiculous.

My sister and I were charged with stealing because the manager jennifer vargas said we went down the wrong way in the store. She lied under oath in court. I was falsely accused of shopping lifting. I have no record and have never ever taken anything at all. The manager Mrs Detria blatantly accused me of this and when I proved her wrong she picked up and item off the counter and accused me of taking this. I got really upset and began to inform her that I didn't appreciate being wrongly accused. At which point she informed me she didn't get paid unless she pressed charges. I waited for the police to come and she pressed charges. What the police didn't not see was her grab a bottle of something and spray it in my face. She also tried to trip me. I will be pleading not guilty and suing your company if something isn't done about this incredibly rude woman.
