Unethical behavior
On October 25, 2018 ... I went to the Family Dollar store in Swannanoa NC in search of a small wicker basket for part of a Halloween costume that was needed. After searching the store with no results for this product found, I spoke to the employee there named "Walter" and asked if they carried this or a similar type item. As I was about to walk out the door he asked me to return inside and open my purse. He then asked me if the notebook that I had inside of my purse was one that I stole from his store? I was very appalled and responded to him "Are you serious"? I however, was on my way to work and did not have time to contact authority so therefore decided to open my purse and get that notebook out and open it up to show that most of all the pages were used up and written on, which proved my innocence and his ignorance. He did not apologize to me after humiliating me in that manner as all he intended to say was " You're good now". I feel that the films from this date (aprox. between 9 am - 9:30 am) need to be reviewed and some sort of reprimand should occur as well as an apology made to me...I will never shop at this location again and I will also make a very negative review online regarding this situation if there is no resolution to this humiliating and embarrassing ordeal.
Gain liquid detergent. Return policy
I purchased my Gain Laundry Detergent on 10.21.18 I had went back on Tuesday 10.23.18 to return it because it wasn't the one my mom wanted. It wasn't opened or anything.
I asked the lady if I can return it.
She opened it& told me no.
I'm wondering why I couldn't return the product with a receipt and an item I purchased just the other day?

The manager “Mike” at the family dollar in Pollock Pines CA
Yeah so the manager is an [censored] who made me cry my first day and I ended up quitting. He treats all the employees like they're indespensible pieces of garbage, yet he's such a pussy he couldn't even hire me himself he made the assistant manager do it all for him under his name. Basically what happened is applied there, spent time driving cities away for a drug test, spent money on uniforms, and waited around for like 3 hours for an "interview" in which the manager was nowhere to be found, and the employees had to try and do it all while running the register as I sat there waiting. Then when I had my first "official" day I wasn't on a calendar, there was nobody to train me, the manager told me to skip the online training and through me onto register and walk away. He said if I need anything to yell for someone else. Nobody was ever available to come help, yet I had no idea what I was doing. Then I said I needed to leave because I had prior plans and I was only supposed to be coming in for the online training not a full 6 hour shift. Then the manager proceeded to yell at me for messing up the amount of money in the drawer to which I exclaimed I wouldn't of messed it up if I had had proper training which he failed to provide me. Since I have mental health issues I had a panic attack and as I was sobbing he told me to quit giving him attitude. I practically ran out of the store and I haven't been back since. My paycheck for the 3.5 hours was on time at least. Anyways very unprofessional and an overall [censored]. Not to mention he constantly undermines the employees and talks about them behind their backs, and then treats them like [censored] to their face like the condescending manipulative [censored] he is. Unethical manager
Manager sean at store #11504 was there about 1p.m. on 10/22/2018. I was shopping in the next aisle and overheard him talking down and very badly to employees there. There was a tension in the store you could feel in the air with every employee. When I asked for his name he just pointed at his name tag and walked off. I will never shop at a store where people are talked to and treated so badly. I will continue my shopping at dollar general going forward. Shame on you family dollar shame on you.
Saga over advertised a clear shelf promotion not honored
Oct 15, 2018 for their Poplar Level Rd location. Boy what a visit!
On the shelf was a tag offering with 'smart coupon' for splashless or other forms of Clorox, for up to 128 oz. size for under $3, which was a pretty good deal. I bring the item and he says I need the app and my # registered for discount.
So I get him to ring up the rest and I said I go to my car and do all of that saga to
get that price. I get out to my car took all the effort to download the app and I search thru like a 1, 000 items in various ways. Nothing there. But made sure my phone # is registered.
I now comeback with that all done with the item. The clerk says well it should drop the price when he subtotals. Nope still rings as about $4! Lovely.
We go around and around on it and getting no place. Now manager becomes involved. The manager gives me this look that she DID NOT believe me whatsoever. We go back TOGETHER to that very shelf and she can now see the tag. She continues, continues to look. She eventually says "oh that's expired" and rips the tag off the shelf and no big deal to her! But that's the store fault, where's ANY thought of honoring what the shelf price had indicated and their mistake?
I dealt with this matter for over 30 min (I had to get back into large lines repeatedly) and walk away with nothing. Not great.
Additionally, from my previous purchase before the app downloading ordeal I had a clearance item that was marked HALF-OFF and rang up as full price. They then had to go thru an ordeal to refund the item and resell it which took another 10 min. I then had ZERO apology or offer that I should be given that for free on their mistake yet again.
What a ripoff!
Oh this was a store in Louisville, KY, not Alabama... FYI.

On 10-21-18 I made a puchase at the location in Savannah Georgia on Montgomery Crossroads in the amount of $17.54. I had second charge for $42.80 that I did not make. I called to the store and asked to speak with a manager. I explained this to her and she was no help refused to look into this and told me to call my bank. You have lost a customer. She showed lack of care for her customer and gave me the impression that I was wasting her time. I have been a loyal customer but, this ends today.
The aisles in the store
This is a picture of the family dollar in Rusk, TX. There is very seldom a day that I can get down an aisle without boxes or junk on the floor. This is the worst I have seen it. There is absolutely no excuse for this. I live in a small town and have to drive a ways to go to Walmart, so I depend on family dollar for my needs. Please get this store cleaned up!

The store at 2500 elvis presley in memphis tn, store number 02723, needs to be shut down permanently. There are many complaints I have about this store but I wilm touch on a couple. Tonight I was in this store to purchase laundry detergent. I purchased 2 bottles of the xtra laundry detergent which was advertised on the shelf as 4.95. I get to the register and it rings up 6.00. I ask if its 4.95 because they have shelves full of this product along with a sign advertising it as 4.95. The cashier did not leave the register to check the sign and all she kept saying was its "probably" a smart coupon sign. I told her its not... She kept talking bout smart coupon and how she use this product and blah blah blah. Nothing that had anything to do with the 4.95 sign which she would not go check. She asked a guy to do a price check and he wouldnt do it either. I eventually went back myself and checked. It was not a smart coupon advertising. It was a sale advertising and I told her. She still talking about smart coupob this and that. I also put in my smart coupon phone number and checked for a smart coupon for this product which there wasn't one. Its just poor advertising and even poorer cuatomer service. And another complaint I have is that alot of the food in this location is old and expired. There is food on the shelves fron 2016, 2017 and the early part of 2018. Why? This is ridiculous and on top of that you are bound to come to this store and about 3 or 4 in the afternoon and its closed. What? But thats ok I would rather go across the street to dollar general where they have their signage right, the store is clean and easier to navigate and the customer aervice is much better. And they stay open during their posted operating times. This family dollar shouldnt even be open at all. I will never shop at this location and I will encourage the people I know and even those I dont know to not patronize this location at all. Just because the store is located in "the hood" doesnt mean the customer service should be non-existent and the good should be old and inedible. Get it right or shut it down. I used to work at freds dollar store and the stuff that goes on in this store is totally unacceptable. But looking at some of these complaints family dollar doesnt give a damn anyway... As long as they are getting my family's dollars... Smh... Shame on fd!
Union grievable offense
Please do something with this store, as the photos show this is an everyday occurrence, boxes everywhere, shelves poorly stocked, osha voliations, labor laws are in violation, store # 05435, 1816 Nicollet Ave Minneapolis, mn [protected], please do something, its only getting worse. I have shopped this store monthly and site that it does not appwar to be changing, one they are short staffed, never more than two personal staffing the store at a time, if its a franchise you need to pull the franchise lincess. Staff are usually rude, as a result of the stores constant mess and disorganization.
Why would I leave my purse at the register
It's not other customers fault that Family Dollar has a high rate of theft within your stores I will never spend my money at Family Dollar again I was told to leave my purse at the register just to shop at the bellefontaine store located in St Louis MO off of Chambers and bellefontaine no can do I will never spend another dime at that or any location
Closing to put up stock
Why are you closing during the day.. just to put up stock, very inconvenient.
Twice now I have gone to get something at 3 or 4 in the afternoon and Dollar General in Walnut Ridge, AR was closed.
I love going in to our Walnut Ridge but this closing in the middle of the day is not very business like

why isn't family dollar more diabetic friendly?
Why doesn't Family Dollar have more choices for diabetics? Need more variety of diet sodas and teas. Sugar free candies and products would be a pleasant addition to the store. Please think about offering more choices for diabetics. We would definitely buy more products from your store it offered. Thank you very much for your consideration and time.
exchange/return policy
I purchased a part ofpants removed tag and turns out pants are to big. Was told I need tag in order to return. I have receipt and I just want to exchange for size. Ive been shopping at family dollar for years and never had any problems with returns. Hell I even worked at the n. Wildwood nj location for 6 years and we took clothes back with no tags. This is bull I want my exchange done asap.

lost wallet
On 10/16/18 I went family Dollar Store on 79th and Yates I got to the counter to pay for my merchants with my wallet in my hand i thought I put my wallet back in my purse cause I decided to pay with my debt card after I left the store went to another store and realized I didn't have my wallet in went back to family Dollar Store when I walk in the cashiers and Manger stand behind the counter i ask did they fine a wallet ? The Manger respond yes my response was thank you Jesus, the manager says there was no ID I says I know only cash and personal cards. Manager say that what they got the cash out I got my wallet and left it want to know if yall can run camera and see if the worker there got my cash because I'm a regular customer there i will be at peace if a customer got it thanks in advance...

associate refused to exchange family wellness brand ibuprofen.
I had recently purchased your brand ibuprofen for my sick child only to get home and open it and while pouring it into the medicine cup noticed it was chunky like as it poured. I didn't give it to my daughter. Although the expiration date was still good, I went today to exchange it for the same product and was refused by the customer service associate. She was very rude and I told her to just trash it and I'll take my business elsewhere. I work in customer service and know this isn't how it shouldn't have been handled. My husband and I are usually in the South Cobb location a few days a week because it's convenient but as of today, my family will no longer patronage family dollar stores.
That ibuprofen was recalled a few weeks after this post too..
I am a loyal customer, but if I am EVER treated badly over defective merchandise, I'll blast it all over the internet and the BBB.
MOST family dollar brand items have a guarantee label on them, WITH a receipt you should be able to return or exchange the item with no fuss. It can be a little inconvenient for the associate but its our job to uphold company policies

Hey my name is LaToya McDonald my husband purchased breakfast for our 5 children Saturday morning. Which was cereal and milk had I not gotten a bowl I would have never known those cereal was old. All of my children consume these cereal including me😤😤😤😤😤 this not the first time I have had to take product back to this some store that was outdated. Not cool😡😡😡 I
frying pan
I purchased a 3 piece set of frying pans, the first time I used it the heat burned a hole right through the center of it. I did not save my receipt and the familydollarstore in Sparks NV would not return it without the receipt, which I understand and no store credit. I just don't understand this way of business i buy something that potentially could have set my house on fire and is totally defective and i cant return it? Its only a $10 item which should be taken off the shelf so no one gets hurt. Thank you Shellie
extreme unethical behavior
It is now 10:05 pm eastern time. I walked into family dollar aproximatley 5 minutes b4 closing.
Just to grab 3 or four cases of peel and stick tile. Mind you.. Lights are on door is unlocked and in was greeted with "we close in two minutes", then then under her breath after I said I will be done in two minutes"$he mumbles" sure [censored]".
So I continued to walk to the back of the store where I remember the tiles being located.
They must have been moved because I looked around for a minute or so and was stoped by a yell. Coming from the front of the store." the register is closed sorry you have to go"
I raised my voice so she could hear me and said" excuse me I did walk in when the store was open right?"she replied back with"I have no idea what you just said but we are closed"you can't buy anything.
So I said to myself screw this, i'm being treated so poorly and being so disrespected for no reason to a point where i'm making a complaint.
When I have never done this before. This is how mad I am but wait. It gets even worste.

It was in reference to a post I made on facebook last night about an incident where there was a car accident with a drunk driver and the street to get home was blocked off. So I used my police scanner app and heard it was an overdose. Turns out it was a different call. I was imeidietly blasted with a reply from who I know could be this family dollar employee, saying everyone always jumps to conclusions saying it's an overdose. It was along those terms. Another comment was from a male who posted a picture of a car accident which was what I thought was an overdose. He said" go to bed bro that's why your not a news reporter". I just let it go and blocked him on fb.

On north mainin street in fall river mass and have been a customer along with my family since this store was even a thought in anyone's mind. So yes I am still in front of the store typing this when I could be doing other things. I feel it is more important that you are informed of the way this employee is acting out in rage in your store towards customers.
Me out of all people understand that its late and she wanted to go home. Im a sales manager at a dealership. I know how it is. But if someone drives on my lot 5 minutes before before close they in no way shape or form be treated the way I was just treated. As long as this person is here I will not step into a family dollar again. 1 problem I 2 decades. Thats what it took.

poor, unfair treatment and wrongly accused
Me and my wife we were out shopping out in Athens at one of your stores and the place was completely trashed stock everywhere open packages of stolen stock everywhere. While I was on one of the Isles looking at the toys for my grandbaby I noticed there was like a block of cheese sitting on one of the shelves as well I see the manager walked by she's looking at me she flipped out because the aisle was trashed and I said yes ma'am I walked into this and this is how it was and she interned says no it was not I was here since this morning and it was not like this I said ma'am you're not trying to blame me are you I have nothing to do with this I'm having a hard time moving around this but I didn't do it. As me and my wife continue to shop we can hear her just fussing up a storm cussing things being thrown just loud and yes I did speak with one of the other employees by saying I'm hoping she's not expecting to blame me for this of some of this I'll mess that's she saw me on and he proceeded to tell me why you just got to learn to let it go I'm not going to let it go when I'm a customer and you belligerently accuse me I'm making a mess I just continued on my shopping with my wife. So obviously it took 3 hours and me and my wife were confronted by three officers because she called them and thought we were suspicious and they're trying to accuse us of stealing .The officers were rude no fairness brushed us off and was told to leave. I'll admit I had paint brushes on me, with all confusion I walked out with them not knowing until officer said somthing, I said oh im sorry pleaase give them to my wife so she can pay for them...honest mistake .Overall we spent over 100 dollars and were told never to come back again .My wife so upset she called off of work, her boss said its ok just take time for your self. Manager didnt want to press charges but me and my wife want to press charges. Is this how a company treats all customers? Me and my wife are wanting to seek compinsation of wrongly accused, mistreatment and defamation of character. Me and my wife are in are above 45 range, work hard and have a clean record . discrimination/ gender/ assumption
On my way from work I decided to stop at the family dollar located at 13817 s post oak rd. Houston, tx 77045 for a few items. Do to me making my travels on a Moped/ Scooter I have to carry a backpack with all my personal things. As I walked in the store I was immediately stopped and was told to leave my belongings. I question why and was told because people still. I told the young lady about where are your signs stating you are not aloud to bring in a carrying bag and I was told there are none. So then I question do you just assume everyone carrying a bag is about to steal something. She responded yes. I question why do you have cameras and why you allow women to walk in with huge hand bags and do not assume they want steal. She replied that I was not a woman so I can't keep my bag on me as I shopped. The young lady was very rude and claimed she was following corporate policy. If this is true why you don't have signs outside the door and inside stating if you are not a female you are not allowed to walk in with any bag of any kind if you are not a female. I was embarrassed and insulted by your staff and will be looking into a lawsuit for discrimination. I have photos of the inside and out of no such rules or policies lay in place.
