commercial apartment policy for 2080 vallejo, san francisco, ca 94109 policy number [protected], effective 12/01/18 to 12/01/19
Our Farmers Insurance Agent, Patricia Sundberg, has been unresponsive and unintelligible regarding our new policy. Despite repeated requests, we just received this policy on 01/11/19. Upon review of the policy we noted that our agent failed to identify and list all named insureds (including the mortgagee who is threatening to sue us for failure to provide insurance), she under valued the building limits coverage despite numerous communications regarding same, she included Employment Practices Liability Coverage for some unknown reason as we have no employees, etc. On 01/15/19, we submitted a very detailed email to Patricia Sundberg outlining all of the problems with the new policy and requested that she respond accordingly. We did receive three email responses from Patricia Sundberg yesterday but they make absolutely no sense and are unintelligible. We would like you to see our emails and her responses. Please advise us of the email address to forward these emails.
Note that we have been Farmers insureds for a very long time. We have had many problems with Patricia Sundberg in the past and we tried to change agents. We were told this could not be done. We have been working on this new policy for over three months and this whole experience with Ms. Sundberg has been absolutely awful.
We look forward to your prompt response and resolution of our complaint. Please let hs know if you need anything further.
Thank you,
Tina Cunningham on behalf of her mother, Correse Artieres

home insurance policy not included in online access
I am very upset and unhappy with the fact that though I have had 3 policies with Farmers for many years now - Home, Umbrella, and 2 Auto Policies; I have not had access to my Home Policy details this entire time.
That makes it very difficult for me to access my policy details, see my past payments or even file claims! This is not acceptable in this day and age. I also see 2 agents on the home page when I log in on-line. I see the picture and information of the agent who signed me up for the Home Policy but I do not see my Home Policy listed when I log in. Very infuriating indeed.
It almost seems that Farmers wishes to collect the premiums but not make it easy to file a claim if need be. I have complained multiple times and am even on phone right now.
I have gone through the entire year complaining and wish to get a refund on my Premium, as I never had a clue of what was covered or not. I am sure there are legal requirements to making my policy accessible to me if I have been made to pay for it upfront.
policy canceled
My policy was recently canceled after I had spoken to my agent who said that he would put the credit card information in and have it charged for my next payment, but had to wait until after the last payments due date came, as I called early. At the end of that month, I received a letter stating that my policy was in pre-cancellation, and notified my agent. My policy has now increased again, even though the cancellation or pre-cancellation was not my fault. I have also asked my insurance agent numerous times over the last year, since the time my policy was canceled last year (due to my credit card being stolen and I had no notification other than certified mail that came too late), to add back in my homeowners discount and he has continued to forget to do that. I have had times where I could not reach him via the phone or email for weeks with no response, and the issues continue to not be corrected. These repeated cancellations are affecting my relationship with the loan company for my vehicle. I am very frustrated at this point, after repeatedly being told over the phone that something is being done right that minute, and then finding out it was never completed. Stephen Dodds is my insurance agent and after repeated attempts to address these issues, they continue to keep happening. I will be looking for insurance elsewhere, as this type of behavior has lost my business.

customer service
My agents name is Matt not sure of his last name and he's out of the Wooster OH office. I have had Farmers for quite some time, However the customer service from the brick and mortar is terrible. I cosigned on a Honda Civic in January of this year and so we could get it off the lot it was late on a Saturday we tacked my daughter Emily Kopina on my account insurance. I was not notified on how much this insurance would be until I see what they took out of my checking account which was $390 for me and Emily when I had been paying $105 a month. Anyways I tried to get changed and I got some kind And nothing really changed till I told him I was going to go elsewhere and I was sudden my insurance went down drastically by half in the meantime I've had two payments pulled out on the same month Which caused me to have some bounced items which cost me money. And then the date is changed to the end of the month when I used a payment in the first week of the month and so again last month I had three over which arise which was $105. I had called Matt the agent about this the previous month and he never got back with me which he said he was going to check it but he said it was very hard to change the payment date I assumed he change the payment date since he never got back with me but obviously didn't since I had three overdrawns. He changed me over to state auto for our auto insurance policies and never told me anything about it being online and that I had to register I really don't look at my email all that much so I did decide to look on my email and lo and behold I found out that I could get into my account and I got on a chat with the insurance company and changed it quite easily the payment date this Matt dude told me it was almost impossible to do when I did it by myself now I don't think that is representing a company very well cost me for bounced checks like we used to call them but overdrawn‘s which is $35 apiece and I am not a happy customer plus the fact $400 for two months of insurance for a truck I barely ever drive I am a little pissed off because this insurance deal is cost me a lot of money this year because of an agent that doesn't know what he's doing and doesn't reply or say he's going to do something into
Good lord if your child is under the age of 25 your insurance is going to be higher a common fact also what your paying for 2 vehicles is freaking cheap!
rates go up no explanation for two years
Hello Joshua
I sending this last email as I haven't heard from you since we started policy about two years ago. It seems your never available to talk to your clients. I'm very disappointed with your service. I don't mind getting rate change if it's a few bucks. But this is the last straw. I'm going to copy this to corporate and whoever else is in charge with farmers. They need to know how you ignore your clients. I've had several issues with you guys and I have never received one call or email. I can't believe your still doing business representing Farmers. No one ever explains your charges or why the rates increase. I've even called farmers asking for another agent but maybe their in the same boat with you and just plain don't care. I'm sure I'm not the only one this is happening to.

money taken from account with quote-after being assured that there would be no fees # [protected]
If I could give zero stars, I would. I got a quote for a new auto insurance policy from Farmers. The man on the phone went through the entire process, took my debit card information, and put me on hold. The man on the phone came back to say that he could not process my policy any further, and said not to worry, no money would be taken from my account. I asked again before we hung up, just to be sure, and he assured me that no money would be taken out. Sure enough, 2 days later, $196 was taken from my account. I immediately got on the phone with Farmers in hopes of getting a refund. The woman on the phone searched for my policy, which I had none. I gave her a quote ID #, a receipt # and all of my husbands and my information. Still nothing. She called me back later and said that I would need to submit a picture of my bank statement to prove that money had been taken out. Done. I called back and went through the whole process again-nobody could find me. I got disconnected. Called again and told that my money would automatically be refunded once my charge was no longer pending in my account. That's great! Once my charge was no longer pending, I waited a few days and nothing. Called back. Whole process again, couldn't find my account, but the lady said if I send an actual print out from my bank, I would get refunded. Done. Nothing! Finally got an email back and it said to provide my address to have the check mailed to in 14 BUSINESS DAYS...UNACCEPTABLE! I still gave my address. 2 days, later, I get a response that my check will be mailed to the wrong address-the service operator added a number. Now a new check has to be issued! I DEMAND a check be mailed OVERNIGHT and a stop check be issued for the original. I am in contact with the better business bureau, and there will be follow up with this. A credit to my account should have been issued weeks ago! Your company obviously does NOT care about it's potential customers.

agency malpractice
I spoke to My agent Thurman Mc Koy about why my Home Owners Mobile Home Policy did not appear with my auto policy on the website and did not get a discount for it.
After 2 weeks he gets back to me and said that he transferred the homeowners policy to his agency so that I can get $300 discount on my policy starting today, and I asked him why didn't I get the discount from the beginning of the term policy that just started in March 20, 2018 and he said it's my fault I open my homeowner's policy with another agency and not thru them Farmers. Thurman McKoy will not let me talk while I was talking in the middle of this aggravation, he is so unprofessional. I have never had a problem with someone that didn't show consideration, understanding, or professionalism when handling a matter with urgency. He shouldn't be dealing with customers in the office. Everyone else in the office are more professional than this fella. I wouldn't be surprised Farmers is losing customers because of this aggravation, and I will find to go beyond this complaint, so it doesn't happen to other victims like me.
auto insurance - bait and switch
I have had 2 negative experiences with farmers in the past 2 weeks. Following a very negative experience with my state farm agent I switch to farmers. The auto insurance rate was lower for the exact same coverage.
A week ago I received a call from my agent advising me my rates would be going up 4%, unless I took out a life insurance policy on my son. If I took out the policy the rate would only go up 2%. Basically spend more money to get a discount. Bait and switch. This was number one, the following is the next issue
Much like state farm they offered a good student discount for my son. My policy start jan 30th 2018. The information regarding my son's grades was supplied to my local office, in person. Understand my son is a commended national honor student. During the week of june 4th I received notice the discount would not apply and I owed $240.00. The following week I received a notice that my policy will be cancelled if I do not pay the $240 by 7/11/2018. After reading this board, and checking with the state insurance board of texas I will be cancelling all my policies with farmers on july 1st. And moving back to state farm. My old agent told me I could not change agents, I found that was not true) reason for the delay, I am holding the resolution of the $240 and reinstatement of the good student discount as part of the renewal once I receive a letter that I do not owe the $240, I will cancel. Two can play the game. If no letter is received I will pay the $240n, chalk it up to a bad decision and cancel anyway
auto accident settlement
I am writing a formal complaint in regards of the early settlement that took place with claim adjuster Juanita Barona on April, 2nd 2018 for claim # [protected]-1. I received a check for the amount of 1600 USD. I am requesting Farmers Insurance to waive my signed liability form for my personal injuries from automobile accident that occurred on March, 22nd 2018.
During our meeting, Ms. Juanita Barona took the time to explain the terms and conditions of the various forms presented to me. However, Ms. Juanita Barona omitted important information such as my right for legal consultation prior to signing. I was rushed to make a decision during our meeting without being given the option of external legal consultation or additional time to take documents home for review. The claim adjuster misled me to believe that it was mandatory to sign one of the forms presented during the meeting.
In reference to the code of Ethics of claim adjusters section 16, no claims adjuster may, in any manner whatsoever, make any representations that are false, misleading or likely to be misleading. The section deals with the general principle that prohibits misleading the public. Claims adjusters must be frank and sincere with everyone at all times. A "representation that is misleading or liable to be misleading" is a statement that hides part of the truth or omits certain important facts or that, while not necessarily false, could lead someone to draw false conclusions. The claim adjuster must not hide important facts from the insurer or disseminate incorrect or incomplete information regarding the insurer or informat.
I made it very clear to her that I was feeling well but was still not done taking the prescribed medications. She was fully aware that my treatment was on-going. I expressed my desire to go to my follow-up appointment for further evaluation after completing my medication per physician's request.
However, Ms. Barona informed me that I could no longer seek further treatment due to the 2-3 weeks delay after the accident upon my request to go to my follow-up appointment prior to signing the liability release form.
I asked if I could reschedule our meeting until further medical evaluations have been performed and she declined my request. Ms. Barona led me to believe that it was too late to seek further treatment and no longer an option. Therefore, I was misled to believe that my option was to sign the liability release form and take the initial offer. In my understanding, if I didn't sign that day, the offer would no longer be valid.
In reference to the code of Ethics of claim adjusters section 16, sections 20, 48, 51 and 58 (5) of the Code and section 14 of the Regulation respecting the pursuit of activities as a representative. The sections deals with the general principle that prohibits misleading the public. Claims adjusters must be frank and sincere with everyone at all times. When a claims adjuster makes "representations that are false" this means that he has intentionally lied and said things that he knows to be false. A "representation that is misleading or liable to be misleading" is a statement that hides part of the truth or omits certain important facts or that, while not necessarily false, could lead someone to draw false conclusions.
Furthermore, my upper back and neck injury impaired my ability to concentrate, think critically, and make well-informed decisions. Given the severity of the accident, I was also in serious mental and emotional distress for weeks following the traumatic accident. I was convinced that I was feeling well due to the effectiveness of my prescribed pain medication. However, my x-ray results proved otherwise and led me to seek chiropractic care.
As an international student studying and working in the United States, I am not familiar with the automobile insurance procedures, regulations, and policies. I truly believe that the claim adjuster took advantage of my lack of knowledge and medical conditions to intimidate, pressure and rush me to sign the liability release form. Given my unfortunate circumstances, I believe that I was mistreated and taken advantage of by Ms. Barona to gain an early settlement.
A claim adjuster shall not attempt to negotiate with and obtain any statement from a claimant at a time that the claimant is, or would reasonably be expected to be, in shock or serious mental or emotional distress as a result of physical, mental, or emotional trauma associated with a loss. Furthermore, the adjuster shall not conclude a settlement when such settlement would be disadvantageous or to the detriment of a claimant who is in the traumatic or distressed state described above.
I kindly asked Farmers Insurance representatives to review my case and waive the liability release form because Ms. Barona violated the code of ethics of claim adjusters. I formally requested the institution to cover my additional medical bills due to this car accident. I have not yet heard back.
auto repair claim denied
Regretfully, a recently denied claim and the less than acceptable service I received has prompted this letter. The issue was small. A claim ($1,006.00 of which I have a $500.00 deductible) for paint damage on the hood that did not involve an accident, was submitted and ultimately rejected. The car rental coverage was also rejected which resulted in an additional expense to me of $216.00. The collision center that I was directed to originally by Farmers promised a three day turnaround, but after changing the finish date FIVE times, they were unable to deliver the finished product for NINE days!
When I finally returned the rental car and went to pick up my vehicle, I was advised by both companies (Enterprise and Point Collision) that Farmers had denied the claim and I would be responsible for the entire amount. At no time in those nine days did the claims adjuster, Valorie Wilson, or any other Farmers representative, call or contact me to advise me the of status of the claim.
After calling my Farmers Agency* to get updated information and possibly an explanation for the denial, I was prompted to call the Claims Adjuster for that illumination. Ms. Wilson claimed she knew nothing of the situation and was not responsible for the decision. When I prompted her to give me reasonable justification, her demeanor and tone changed remarkably to what can only described as condescending and disrespectful. *It is important that you know the people at the agency itself have always been very good to me.
On the day I was to drop off the rental car and picked my truck up, I called ahead and the respective companies quoted the price I would be responsible for after Farmers paid their part. When I got there, big surprise! I had no reason to suspect a denial based on that plus the fact I was never contacted in any way prior to the date of retrieval.
I feel a loyal customer is due a certain amount of respect and I am sorely disappointed in the treatment I received from the Farmers representatives. I have both my home and auto insurance with Farmers and pay in excess of $2, 000.00 a year to be covered and have reasonable expectations that my insurance company will have my back when I need them. I have had no major claims against Farmers in the years I have been with you, and for a measly $506.00 payout plus a $30.00 a day car rental bill, I find the explanation for denial to be a very large load of B S!
The mark of an exceptional company is not just being right, but doing the RIGHT thing. That's what I would expect from Farmers. It is my intention to move my business to another company because of this incident, and while you may scoff at what may seem a particularly insignificant amount of business, I can only assume that I am probably not the only customer that has been treated in this manner. My policies will expire on June 28, 2018. I will withhold my decision to move my business depending on your response to this letter and my request for Farmers to step up and pay this claim promptly.
May I hear from you soon?
Sincerely,
William T Dunn

customer service and privacy policy
Because of the terrible service and lack of knowledge from our farmers agent we decided to move our policies to another agent. A few days after doing so I started receiving harassing calls from the agents aunt, upset that we moved our policy stated, "now I have to burn you guys, maybe you'll grow up" it's been absolutely crazy. I actually think she may have broken a law by speaking about my policy to someone not related to me or my policy.
rental car agreement
Niesha Houston with Farmers insurance told me verbally on the phone on April 9, 2018, that my rental car needed to be returned by April 11, 2018. Now Niesha Houston is going back on our recorded conversation to limiting my rental for only 2 days . I now have an outstanding balance with Enterprise rental for $300. I feel she is doing this to me because I hired an attorney since their driver failed to maintain his speed and caused me to miscarry, along with 3 other children in my care that was also involved in the accident.
claims dept/insurance fail
On 9/26/2017
My car was totaled by a friend in Tulsa, she went to the hospital.
The insurance representative informed her that my insurance didn't cover a rental car...it did at that time. However, due to your company not being able to tell the difference between my father's policy and my own the car went to him. Didn't find that out until much later. We were stranded in Tulsa for 2 days.
Water under the bridge...its over and done with.
Tried contacting the claims department about getting everything settled and signed. After numerous of unanswered phone calls to Sarah Kennedy and waiting an email was finally sent to sign the documents.
That's over as well.
The insurance didn't cover the total cost of the car, that's fine I have GAP insurance.
It is now 4/7/2018 and my documents haven't been given to me so that I may send them to process my claim with them.
What do I need to do, who do I need to call other than her to be completely finished with this?
Please help me
This is the one and only email from the rep Mrs. Kennedy

treatment during the claims process
We had three guns stolen from a residential burglary this past July. One suspect has been arrested and one gun is sitting in evidence. The entire claims process has been a complete disaster and the customer service I have received has been not just poor, but totally dismal. I have been with Farmers for years now. Go ahead and send all the paperwork necessary to cancel all my policies with your company. I've spoken with my agent regarding this claim, and he has provided ideas on how to speak with the claims department. I'm done. I'm totally done. I'm not calling claims a third or fourth time. I'm not sure if my agent has called on my behalf.
The solution offered by your claims department: to replace the three guns valued at about $1700, Farmers will send me a $450 check. Farmers expects me to then go and spend the $1700 out of pocket to replace the guns, and then Farmers will send me a check for $550. I will still be out $700. I don't have $1700 to go replaced these items, hence having insurance in the first place.
The claims number is [protected]-1-1. A police report was provided. I spoke with Julia first, then her supervisor. Both conversations were unsatisfactory. The conversation with my agent was unsatisfactory. Your customer service during this ordeal was alarmingly terrible. I have already called Liberty Mutual, Allstate, and others for quotes. Their customer service has been much better. I am very disappointed in your product.
farmers insurance is not good for me and I want to cancel.
My name is Naomi Woodard I have a claim already on file with Farmers but I feel that they don't want to pay for what's needs to be done and I feel like I want to sue them cause I pay so much and they are giving me a hard time. I haven't had my car back it's been a whole month. They need to either total it out and give me another car but this rental situation is a lot and I'm only working a part time job and struggling to make ends meet. I need to see what they are going to do. It's taking a long time and doesn't make any sense. Rachel Whitten was the Farmers Claim Agent, Isiah Kasina was the Farmers adjuster, Omar Martinez is my Farmers Agent and from Honda Services is Trevor Ripley please give me a call if there any questions I can be contacted at [protected]. I am complaining because my car got broken into on Febuary 27, 2018 and I went through my insurance which is Farmers and I feel they are not paying for my damages on my car or rental they only paid up to $450.00 and my policy is 500.00 Farmers is being very cheap and I already paid my deductible which was a 1, 000 and came out of pocket of 700.00 on rental cars. Downtown Los Angeles said my car was ready on Monday 3/25/18 and I noticed my horn wasn't working due to the person that broke in my car and stole my airbag and messed up the wiring in my car.
problems with auto insurance policy
Below is the complaint I sent directly Karen Constable at the Farmers agency in Brawley, CA. Predictably there was no response.
From: David Bennett

Subject: FW: Cancellation - Policy Number [protected], Extremely poor customer service
Karen,
I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by you agency. The support staff has been extremely rude, inconsistent on direction, and dishonest during my live conversations.
As background:
The below E-mail was sent on 2/17 requesting cancellation of the subject policy. The E-Mail was preceded by a call to your office requesting cancellation on 2/16. Your staff was very short and advised any cancellation request needed to be in writing. Hence the below E-Mail.
Despite the instructions in the below E-Mail, a check dated 2/22/18 was received on 2/26/18 made out to James R. Bennett. Your office was notified by phone on 10/27/17 and by E-Mail on 10/31/17 that James R. Bennett was deceased. The renewal check was also sent from an account with under my name and my fathers name, signed by myself. No call or communication was every made advising a check could not be made to David L. Bennett.
On 2/27, your office was called again to complain about the check being made out to a deceased person. The UMPQUA in Borrego Springs and one of our Colorado banks had advised checks could not be cashed for a deceased person or checks made out to the estate of James R. Bennett. This was the advice received when we tried to cash a medicade supplemental policy reimbursement that was made out to the Estate of James R Bennett at UMPQUA bank on 2/8/18. The support staff in your office was again very short and argumentative. I explained our banks position, and advised the UMPQUA bank would cash checks if the were made out to the Estate of James R. Bennett, or, David L. Bennett. I am the trustee and executor for the estate of James R. Bennett. I was put on hold a couple of times and then advised that I needed to send in proof of my position as executor/trustee. Ie. Trust, POA, Last Will and Testament, etc.
Proof of trustee/executor was never sent into your office or farmers.
In an effort to bypass any more correspondence with your office, I contacted our local 1st Bank where my wife and I have a checking account and asked if I could set up an estate account where I can cash any checks made out to the estate of James R. Bennett. The bank representative advised they would cash the check to James R Bennett provided; the amount was less than $100, the amount of check was for deposit, there were no more checks expected for James R Bennett, death certificate was provided. This transaction required manager approval. On 3/6 the check was cashed by 1st Bank.
On 3/8 another check was received from Farmers. This one was made out to The Estate of James Bennett.
On 3/9 I called your office to complain about the check being reissued in another format that may not be able to be cashed.
I am hard pressed to remember a telephone call where treatment was so poor. The support staff in your office consistently interrupted, counterdicted everything that was discussed in the previous call, and outright lied about the previous direction provided by your office.
During this call, I explained that the original check had been cashed and asked that any stop payment be lifted. Your support staff agreed to check if this could be done. As of today, there has been no call back.
This afternoon, I received a stop payment notification from 1st Bank. The funds that were deposited have been withdrawn.
Its unbelievable that I have to deal with this type of service from Farmers and your office. Particularly, since we are still grieving the loss of a parent. I will check if the 1st Bank will cash this second check. If not, I will be looking to Farmers to provide a solution.
Under full disclosure, I will be filing a complaint on the Farmers Insurance customer complaint site and with the BBB.
Feel free to call or respond by E-Mail. My number is provided below.

rental car coverage
Adjuster - Macey Hundley [protected] very poor service. Took over 2 weeks to get a return phone call. Was told by Macey that car rental was covered by my policy however I was charged for it. Over 3 weeks after car was returned I am still not reimbursed. I was told a lie about a refund that would happen if rental car charges did not exceed $1000.00 the remained would be refunded to me? Incompetence I am assuming. I would to be reimbursed for the car rental.

I had an accident got contacted by Appraiser for over the phone interview, he assured would have a response back by the end of the week but never got back to me, after several attempts to contact him by phone or email he got back said had denied the claim, because of not enough evidence to proof their member was at fault, I provided them already a witness and he tried contacting him but would never answer his phone, my insurance got the witness statement, contacted him and then no word from Appraiser from farmers, I have sent several emails then here again he finally got back to me thanks to the help from my insurance, saying was waiting on my insurance to provide information to him, it's just a run around game I hate this insurance would definitely tell everyone about how bad they are. And advice everyone not to buy their business.
