I have called Vodacom insurance (finrite) Atleast 6 times since August to cancel my cellphone insurance.
To date- I am still being debited every month for the insurance and continue to receive sms’s (Atleast 20) stating that the insurance has been cancelled. This is absolutely inaccurate- the sms states it’s cancelled but I continue to be charged and no credit has been passed for all of the months that have lapsed that have paid for since the initial cancellation. I have been told that it is an IT issue that has been escalated. I have also been told that it is a matter that needs to be resolved by Vodacom accounts- but Vodacom accounts are adamant that this is a Finrite issue- which I agree with.
The manager on call, Israel Pule, has never called me back even though I have escalated this issue to him twice. The call centre agent Lesego refuses to give me his details to help me- and additionally I am unable to stay on the line and wait for the manager to be available (which the manager is never available to assist when you call).
Today I am approaching the ombudsman for a formal complaint- and additionally approaching the small claims court for 4 months of insurance debits that I have been charged with during this period.
Finrite is atrocious. I would never recommend them to anyone for any type of insurance and they are 100% incompetent. Just press the cancel button Finrite and pay me back my 4 months of money owed to me. It’s not that difficult
Claimed loss: R1423,96(R355,99 x 4) August - November payments
Desired outcome: Cancellation of the cellphone insurance immediately Refund of 4 months debits that went off my account since the date of first initial cancellation
