My MB GLK 350 was towed to Firestone Monday December 11th after discussing with James on Saturday Dec 9th. and reported the brake indoor light on my dash was staying illuminated and the brakes are very "tight" as well as (after hitting a pothole - the brake lights in back of car remained on and I could not turn them off) thus the battery drained making car inoperable. (Yes, I bought a new battery in July 2023 from Napa (a very good one) so it is not the battery.)
James was helpful and I arranged for a tow to the company they work with - Haas Towing, which he said they would pay for. They did not.
The "Master Mechanic" said they did nothing with the wiring, but my car is still not working. He said that they don't touch the wiring. So, I called again on Wednesday as I had to get a rental on Tuesday and spoke to manager Ben. I told him I spoke to a retired mechanic I know, and he said the brake pedal may have been tightened up too much or too little thus the brake lights remain on. I told Ben that and asked him to look at loosening up the peddle and check to make sure everything is in tac. He said he would and would call me back in an hour. He never called.
I reported the issue to State Farm/my insurance as I thought maybe when I hit the pothole something came loose. Since the brake light has been on for several weeks before any damage to the undercarriage, I assumed they were installed incorrectly. Since Ben lied to me about calling me back, I called and again spoke to James and asked why Ben would lie to me about getting back to me... he said he didn't know and was off for the weekend. So, I again told James my car is still sitting at Firestone-what are the next steps?
I finally received a call from Ben yesterday who was quite agitated. I told him I never heard back from him, and he ignored my questions and went right into a dialogue about..."I was untruthful", "Look Lady", "You obviously don't know about your car", etc., and many other disrespectful things he said over me, interrupting me and my questions. I have never been spoken to so disrespectfully in all my life. He talked over me arguing and refusing to call me by my name and blew off my questions with continues interruptions and told me HE has talked to my insurance company (I did not authorize this) and that he and the insurance company agree that neither are responsible for any damage. And he told me to get my car off his store lot. And he hung up on me.
Claimed loss: $5000.00 - Brakes/Car/Rental/Towing/Emotional Distress. Mercedes-Benz will be happy to fix the problem for you.
Desired outcome: The above dollar amount plus a written apology to me from Ben.
